Ronnie and Austin returned home safely, happy to be back to their own private paradise on the bayou. They recieved the pictures taken at their wedding, and dutifully sent select pictures to Donnie and Mark, Austin's parents and his brother Robbie, Brandon and Conner, Robbie and Ryan, Ronnie's sister Jan, and even one to Ronnie's parents, who gradually began to accept and acknowledge their loving relationship and marriage.

Donnie and Mark got married in Vermont six months later. It was a private ceremony, much like Austin and Ronnie's. The brothers remaind very close, and visited each other often.

Connor and his new boyfriend visited several times to go fishing, or just hang out. Ronnie and Austin were a very good influence for the young boys in love.

Robbie and Ryan visited the boys on the bayou, and Ronnie and Austin visited them in Kentucky. Robbie and Ryan both got good jobs after graduating college. They continued to stay in touch and became quite good friends, with Ronnie and Austin being their best man at their wedding on Maui a few years later. It was a very nice reunion. Each year thereafter, the four would vacation there together.

Brandon would always visit when he was in the states visiting his daughter. They also kept in touch via email. He remaind in the closet towards his family, but his life in Ireland with his lover and best friend was very satisfying and open.

Robbie, Austin's brother, had a new boyfriend every six months. He just couldn't settle on one guy. After he graduated college, he moved to L.A., accepting a good job offer there at a movie studio. He had a steady supply of potential boyfriends, and he definitely took advantage of it. But, that is what made him happy, being the sexy gay playboy.

Austin and Ronnie decided they wanted children. So, at the ages of 38 and 27 they sold the mobile home and built a nice 3 bedroom 2 bath home where the mobile home once was, and enlisted the services of an adoption agency. Within a year, they were approved to adopt 3 year old twin siblings, a girl and a boy.

Their love and commitment to each other never wavered. Their devotion and faithfulness to each other was never in question.

Life is good, for they know that their love is real. And indeed, they lived happily ever after.
