~On the last Chapter of Loving Spencer~
Ryan and Spencer continue their feelings for lust that night. They enjoy each other's company and spend the night together. The next day was the beginning of Spencer's baseball tryouts.
Loving Spencer, Chapter 3
My eyes flutter open to the light gleaming through the window. I roll over, expecting to see my cute little boyfriend snoring his baby snore, but there's nothing. I look all around, and notice that i'm alone in my room. Was this a dream? Was it all just something my teenage mind came up with? I begin to worry, so I jump up and slip on a pair of boxers. I walk downstairs to see my mom cooking in the kitchen. I look around for Spencer and still have no sign of him.
"Mom...?" I ask, hoping she doesn't notice my desperation. "Have you seen Spencer anywhere?"
"He's been awake for awhile honey," she replies, "and he went home to shower and get ready for his baseball tryouts."
Shit! Is it already that time?! I look at a clock, and see '12:47' glaring at me in neon green. I remember Spencer telling me he needed me to pick him up at 1. I run upstairs and jump into the shower. I sleepily scrub and wash, getting ready for the day. Afterwards, I slip on some jeans and a T, and grab my keys to run to my mustang. I climb in and start up the engine. I back out of the driveway, and stroll the few feet to the curb outside Spencer's house. I wait outside, and exactly at 1, Spencer comes walking out. He looks a little bit tensed, maybe just stress. He walks over to the passenger side, and opens the door. He plops down into his seat and buckles his seatbelt. Instead of a cheery hello, he just stares out the window.
"Hey," I say, trying to ease some tension.
"Hmm." He replies without a simple turn.
"Is something wrong?" I ask, placing my hand on his.
He jumps at my touch and glares at me, "What?!" He screams.
Feeling hurt, I put my hand back on the wheel. I continue to drive in silence, wondering what I did now. I peek at him here and there, just to see him glaring out his window. I hear my heart beat, and try to choke back tears. Maybe I went too fast, maybe I hurt him, or...maybe he moved on. He must have. What 14 year old would want to date someone, especially a boy, older than him? I knew that this could have happened, I should have expected that we couldn't last forever. I just wish that we could have lasted in a relationship for a little bit longer. I turn into the parking lot of the baseball field, and park in a spot close to the gate. I turn to talk to him, but see him shut the door and head up the steps towards the field. I sigh and recline my seat. Thoughts race through my head, and before I can even consider putting some pieces together, the passenger door opens and closes, and Spencer is buckled up and ready to go.
"Um..." I begin, nervous on what to say next, "can I talk to you?"
"I guess..." He says, still sounding angered.
"Did...I do anything wrong?" I ask, yet again attempting to hold back tears.
"Well, don't you think what we're DOING is wrong? I mean...isn't being...gay, bad?" He asks with a few uncomfortable shifts.
"Nothing is wrong if you enjoy it," I begin, instantly feeling relieved, "if you feel love and pleasure from what you're doing, then I see nothing wrong with it."
"But..." He starts, trailing off into silence.
"I've accepted myself and what I do, and I enjoy it. It feels right to me, so I have no regrets."
"I guess you're right...and I like what we do. It's not just the oral and sex, but I like the bond we have." He says with a slight smile. "And I'm sorry for how rude I was...I just felt...confused."
"I understand, and I'm here for you." I replied with a smile.
Tears begin to fill his eyes, and he quickly wiped them away. My little man. I pulled him into a hug, and just held him for awhile. He sniffled and had a few sobs into my arms, but we just sat there carassing. By the time we parted, everybody has cleared the stadium. I smiled at him and wiped his tears away.
"Come on, let's get you home." I smile to him as I turn on my car.
"Alright" He says with a smile. I was so happy that the tension was gone, that we were back to loving each other again. I merge onto the highway, and feel his hand slip into mine. I look over to see him blushing a bright red, and give his hand a little squeeze. He beams with delight, and snuggles a bit closer. I continue to drive home and glide off the highway. I turn towards our neighborhood, and Spencer says lightly,
"Can...we take the long way home?"
