The following story is fiction based on some fact and my wishes for things that "could/might have been" if the world worked like my hopeful mind. It will eventually include sexual relations between young men. Some characters and events are based on fact but the names, places and circumstances have been changed for obvious reasons. If you're not old enough to be reading this for WHATEVER reason, please leave now. If you are plenty old enough, please continue on and let me know what you think of my first ever submission to the Nifty Archives.

Mason and Jack

Chapter 8

We walked into the school. Very close to each other. There were several looks and some gossipy looking whispers, but it wasn't bad. We went to the large room in the center of the High School that was set up for student registration and got into our respective lines. I watched him like a hawk. I was going to be prepared for anything. I didn't want him to be hurt, ever. Physically or emotionally. I was his protector and I was going to do everything within my power to protect him. We each made our way to the front of our lines to get registered and our class and locker assignments. I finished first and went to the other side of the room to wait for him.

He finished shortly after and walked to me. Sandy came up to us at about the same time. "So, what's the coming out plan?"

We hadn't really discussed this, so there wasn't much to say. We were in this room with nearly 50% of the high school so I figured, what the hell. I grabbed Jack and pulled him to me, kissing him deeply and dipping him slightly in an old style dance move. Jack tensed but quickly recovered and kissed me back. His hands and arms going around my neck. I finished and pulled him back up into a standing position.

The room went ape shit! Applause, wolf whistles and cat calls erupted from nearly everyone in the room. Sandy stood back a couple of steps and joined in. I took Jack's hand and turned towards the crowd. The applause and ruckus grew louder. We glanced at each other then with a smile and a wink from each of us, we turned back to the crowd and bowed like it was the end of opening night of a long awaited Broadway show.

People started coming up to us and congratulating us. Hand shakes, hugs and claps on the back went round. It was incredible. I shed a couple of silent tears of joy. It was the best feeling in the world. Incredible.

The principle finally pushed his way to the front of the crowd and after getting everyone's attention and quieting them down he says, "This is a monumental day for this High School. I'm very proud to be called your Principle. I knew the student body at this school was accepting and generally good natured. This display, brings a tear to my eye and I hope this can be the beginning of something great, not only in our local area, but one day, the world. Acceptance. No matter what. Thank you Mason and Jack for your strength and courage. And without further adieu, please get yourselves under control and head to class!" His smile was infectious and we all broke out in a broader smile and headed our separate ways to our lockers and then to class.

Jack and I had decided during the summer break that we'd take our assigned lockers but we wanted to share mine, on the Senior hall. Our school was pretty lenient when it came to locker assignments and allowed students to trade and or share at their discretion. We headed toward the Senior hall and I gave Jack my locker combo and he started turning the dial to get us in. He got it open and we put our jackets inside. The first bell rang. He turned to me, closed the short distance between us said, "Thank you." And melted into my arms as he embraced me and put his lips to mine. I pulled him tight to me and accepted him. Shortly after the kiss of thanks started, people started hooting in the hallway. He quickly pulled back, but didn't leave my arms. He blushed, buried his face in my chest and started laughing.

I said, "You're so welcome, Baby Boy." I kissed the top of his head, pushed him back and asked for his schedule. I took it, quickly memorized the schedule, handed it back to him, took his hand and drug him to his first class. I had plenty of time to get to mine, so I wasn't worried.

Outside his first class I embraced him one more time, quickly kissed his lips and said, "I'll be here waiting for you after class. Have a good class Babe." Then I turned him around and swatted his ass into class. He looked back at me as he walked to an empty desk and smiled. The teacher's eyes caught my eyes, he smiled, winked and shooed me away. I happily headed to class.

The rest of the day was uneventful and went as any first day of school should go. I got several "Congratulations" and such throughout the day and it was a generally good feeling. I rushed and waited outside of each of Jack's classes and walked him to his next one, repeating each time the hug, kiss and wish for a good class.

The schoolwide assembly was during the last class period of the day. I walked with Jack and deposited him with the other Freshman and walked to the Senior section. We did our thing and then the day was over. A half hour early no less. We hung out and I introduced Jack and Sandy to my more trusted upper classman friends. They all got along very well.

Shelley, the party planner extraordinaire invited us to the first party of the new school year. We accepted. We went. It was a blast. Nothing exciting happened. Jack was by my side the entire time. He admitted to feeling a little out of his element being around all of the older kids. But with me by his side, it was becoming natural. It was great.

Also, I've started another fictional story involving Dylan O'Brien, from Teen Wolf, The Maze Runner and a couple of other things...Look for it in the Celebrity section soon. If you've been following "Mason and Jack" and want to know when "Being Dylan O'Brien's Assistant" is published, let me know at the email address above
