Well, I'm back! Once again I would like to apologize to everyone who has been reading Millennium Love, and waiting patiently for the next chapter. I honestly never expected it to take so long to get out. Hopefully, there will be no more roll-over car accidents, broken necks and writer's block to prevent the next chapter from getting written within a reasonable time!
I would like to thank every single person who did write to me about this story, and to wish me well from my car accident.
No 'Thank You' would be complete without a big thanks to David for posting all of the great stories on the archive.
I must give a big Thank You to my chat friends (Even though we haven't chatted lately) Rune, Neo and Chris. You guys are great and I miss you!
Disclaimer: Well, I'd hope by now everyone knows it, but just in case:
1. If you shouldn't be here, don't tell me and don't get caught!
2. I don't know any of the people mentioned in the story...it's fiction folks!

Last Time
Nick returned a few minutes later, his jacket bulging. He pulled out three bags, containing hamburgers, fries, and milkshakes. We grinned. No one could find food the way he could.
"Oh, Nicky, will you marry me?" Scott asked in a little girlish voice. "You're my hero."
We all laughed and devoured the food. I realized how much I'd missed eating food.
I knew Scott wanted to stay awake and talk, but he couldn't keep his eyes open. It had been a big day for all of us. Nick sat quietly by the window, and I sat beside Scott.
"Go back to sleep, Angel. I'll be back tomorrow before we leave." I kissed his cheek and he hugged me tightly to him.
"I love you Brian, my love, always," he whispered in my ear.
"Love you too." I said softly before following Nick out the door, turning off the overhead light as I went.
Nick and I returned to the hotel. I called Kevin to let him know everything was okay, but he wasn't answering so I left a message. Nick started watching a movie on T.V. I tried to watch it too, but fell asleep during the first ten minutes.
Chapter 36 - Brian
I woke up to the sound of the phone ringing. I rolled over and grabbed it.
"Hello." I said, trying to untangle the blankets around my body.
"Bri, it's Kevin," my cousin said.
"Hey Kev, what's up?" I managed to sit up. I could hear the water running and realized that Nick was in the shower.
"Press knows," he said flatly. My heart stopped.
"Knows what Kev?" I managed to ask.
Kevin realized what I thought. "Oh, not that Brian, sorry." He gave a little laugh. "They know that you and Nick aren't with the rest of us. Once word of that got out, the Toronto media figured that you guys were there. We met with management last night. The story is that Scott was recovering and asked to see some of his friends." God, I hated this. "Will you let Scott know? And by the way B., I'm so happy that you guys worked things out."
"Thanks, Boo. I'll tell Scott what you said. Nick and I will be catching up with you later today. We're in Dallas, right?"
"Yeah. See you then." Kevin hung up and Nick came out of the bathroom. I told him about Kevin's phone call then went to get showered and dressed myself.
We packed up everything and had it taken out to a waiting limousine. The manager of the hotel informed us that there were a number of reporters out front.
"Guess we don't need the disguises, B," Nick said, trying to lighten my mood. I smiled at him and we made a dash through the media to the car.
We made it to the hospital and I knocked softly on Scott's door.
"Come in," he said and we walked in.
Scott immediately noticed the missing disguises. "What's going on?" he asked. There was no avoiding it.
"The press found out we weren't with the rest of the band. Since everyone knew you had been travelling with us before the accident, management decided to let it slip that you had asked to see some of your friends, so we flew up here to pay you a visit." Nick explained.
Then I continued. "The local press latched onto the story and found out where you were. There didn't seem to be much use in trying to hide anymore. Everyone knows we're here." I looked down at my feet before returning my eyes to Scott. "So you might get some phone calls or visits from the press, Scott," I said apologetically. I hated to worry, and it wasn't that I didn't trust Scott; worrying had become part of my nature.
I could see him force a smile. "Hey, I wanted to see how my friends were doing, to let them know I'm okay, and that I'm sorry for scaring them with the accident. I took off because I had forgotten an appointment and got careless," he said, describing a probable cover story. I hated to see the pain I was causing and swore to myself that I would figure something out.
I blinked back tears and met Scott's eyes. "I'm sorry Scott," I whispered. I didn't know what else I could say to him.
Scott held out his hand to me and pulled me close. "I know love," he said, kissing me softly. "I know." Scott looked over at Nick. "So when do you have to leave?"
Nick looked at his watch. "Soon, fifteen - twenty minutes."
I hadn't realized it would be that soon. Scott and I just looked at each other. Nick silently slipped out the door.
"What are you going to do when you get out of here?" I asked quietly. I was almost afraid of his answer.
"I haven't really thought about it," he said honestly. "I guess I'll go home with my parents for a while. I should be able to find someone to help with my rehab to get my strength back." It made sense; even though it hurt that he would be away from me for so long. It had already been over a month since I'd held him in my arms.
"Then what?" I asked, even quieter, wondering if he was ever planning on rejoining the tour.
Scott gently lifted my chin with his fingers. "Then I'm coming back to you," he paused. "If you still want me." How could he even ask it?
I leaned forward and kissed his lips tenderly. "Oh, I still want you, Angel. I want you more than I've wanted anything in my life."
Scott hugged me tightly. I knew he doubted my words, and I silently vowed to prove myself to him.
Too soon Nick returned, indicating it was time to leave. Scott gave Nick a hug. "You take care of Bri for me, will ya?"
He grinned and nodded. "I always have," he said, and I lightly slapped him in the head.
"Yeah right!" I said.
Scott turned his attention back to me. "I'll be back as soon as I can, love, I promise. Will you promise me something?" he asked. I nodded. "You promise to call me at least once a day?" Scott kissed my forehead. "You're my motivation, okay?" I saw him blink back tears again.
I wasn't in much better shape but managed a weak smile. "I promise." I walked to the door. "Love you Angel," I said softly.
Scott smiled. "Love you too."
Nick and I rejoined the tour in Dallas, and I threw myself into performing. I kept as busy as I could, only pausing to call Scott every day as promised. He always sounded happy to hear from me. He was making excellent progress, but I still missed him.
One thing I did to fill in some downtime was broach management about the impact of someone coming out. I kept it hypothetical although I know I wasn't really fooling anyone. I just needed to know the reality, especially how it would affect the other four guys. In my reality, I was afraid Scott would decide to break up with me and that was a terrifying thought.
After two weeks of phone calls Scott sounded close to one hundred percent, but he hadn't mentioned when he was coming back. A couple of days later I encountered AJ just as he was finishing a conversation with Drew.
"Sorry AJ," I said and began to leave the back lounge of the bus.
"S'Okay B, hang on a sec," he replied. "Love you D," he spoke softly into the phone. I could hear the love in his voice and smiled. They made arrangements to talk again later and then AJ hung up. He sighed softly and looked over at me. "So, what's up?" he asked.
I plopped down on a chair and looked at him. "How do you do it?" I asked him in amazement. "You haven't seen Drew in nearly 2 months. It's only been two and a half weeks since I've seen Scott and it's driving me crazy."
AJ shrugged. "I do it because I have to. Drew and I have a different relationship than you and Scott. There really wasn't any option for him to come on tour."
Does it bother you?" I asked hesitantly. "I mean that Scott joins me on tour?"
AJ was quiet for a moment. "It doesn't bother me exactly," he said softly. " I guess I'm envious of you and Scott. And if things were different, I would like Drew to be able to tour with us. But I like Scott and I'm happy for you so don't think I'm angry or hurt about you two," he said sincerely. I was relieved. Then AJ smiled. "Let's face it Bri, you've always been a much more touchy-feely kind of guy. I'm not saying I love Drew any less than you love Scott, but I don't need to see him all the time to feel that love." He paused then got a wicked grin on his face. "Besides, you can't even imagine what the reunion sex is like!"
I had to laugh. "Thanks man. I'm glad you don't resent Scott and I, but I wish you and Drew could still be together more," I said sincerely.
AJ just smiled, "Thanks B."
A few days later I was getting depressed. It had been three weeks since I'd seen Scott and he still hadn't said anything about coming back. Kevin finally got tired of my moping and told me to talk to Scott. Despite being afraid of what Scott would say, I decided not knowing was worse. I picked up the phone and called the next morning.
"Hello," Scott said as he picked up the phone.
"Hi Angel," I said softly. It was so good to hear his voice.
"Brian! How are you? How was the concert last night?" he asked. I was quiet for a moment. I didn't want to make small talk. "Brian?" Scott asked softly.
"You're not coming back, are you Scott?" I asked suddenly. It wasn't what I had intended to say, but the words were out before I could stop them.
Scott was silent for a moment. "Brian! What are you talking about?" he asked in confusion.
"Scott, it's been three weeks now and we've talked every day, but you've never once said when you're coming back," I said quietly voicing my concerns.
"God, Brian, I am sorry. I've been taking a little vacation from life I guess and haven't thought how that's made you feel. Forgive me? Please?" Scott asked me apologetically.
I sighed. "I do forgive you Scott. I just miss you so much," my voice dropped to a whisper as I fought back new tears.
"Brian, where are you guys right now?" he asked.
"We're in the bus on our way to Washington. We play there tomorrow night," I replied.
"Brian, you know I love you, right?" he asked and waited.
"Yes," I whispered.
"I'll fly down tonight or first thing tomorrow, okay?"
I could hardly believe it. "You mean it?" I asked hopefully.
"Yeah. I'll call the airport and book the next available flight. Where are you guys staying?" he asked.
I gave Scott the information, and we hung up. Scott hadn't said anything about calling me with the information so after a couple of hours I called his Mom and asked her is she had his flight information. I wrote it down, thanked her and hung up. I had a few hours to kill before we arrived in the capitol so I plotted how I could surprise Scott.
We reached the hotel just before dinner time. After checking into the rooms, I knocked on AJ's door. I knew if anyone had what I was looking for, it would be him. The five of us had dinner together and the others made plans for the evening. I returned to my room and dressed before going down to the limo I'd booked for the night.
The drive to the airport was quick. I ran into the terminal to check on Scott's flight. It was arriving on time in a few minutes. I went back out to the car to wait. About half an hour later, I saw Scott walk through the terminal doors. He looked wonderful. I could tell he was looking for a cab so I discreetly walked over to stand behind him.
"Need a lift?" I asked softly.
Scott slowly turned to look at me. I couldn't keep the grin off my face. I could see him taking in my chauffeur jacket and hat, but he managed not to smile. "No, that's okay. I'm on my way to visit my boyfriend. I don't think he'd like me accepting a ride from a stranger…no matter how cute a stranger," he replied solemnly.
I ignored his protest and walked up to him, taking the suitcase from his hands. I began walking towards the limo and he had not choice but to follow. "Well, this boyfriend of yours is very lucky to have someone like you," I said seriously as I opened the trunk and put his stuff inside.
"Yeah, he is," Scott said with a grin. "But I'm just as lucky to have him too."
We both stepped into the car and I closed the door. The car began to move. I couldn't wait any longer and reached over, grabbing Scott and pulling him to me. Our lips met and it was heaven. I couldn't believe how much I missed everything about him. From the passion and intensity of the kiss, Scott had missed me too. We rediscovered each other until finally I pulled back. Both of us were flushed and out of breath.
I smiled sweetly at him. "Hi!" I said, making him laugh.
"How did you know when I was arriving?" Scott asked. Our hands were tightly clasped on the seat between us.
"I called your parents and they told me," I explained.
He brought my hand up to his lips and kissed my fingers. I shivered at the sensation. It was too long since I'd been with my angel. It had been over five weeks since the accident and I hadn't felt whole in all that time.
Scott leaned back against me and we watched the city pass by outside. I folded my arms across his chest and held him tightly. Neither of us felt the need to immediately talk. It was enough to just be together again. As we approached the hotel, I leaned forward to kiss his ear.
"So how has the physical therapy been?" I asked softly.
Scott stroked my arm with his fingers. "I'm almost back to one hundred percent," he told me. I was relieved to hear that. "My leg still bothers me a little if I do too much. But aside from that, everything is great."
I planted another kiss to his ear sending shivers through him. "That's good," I said as I nibbled on his earlobe. "Because I do have a few plans for us tonight," I murmured.
I could almost hear Scott smile. "I can't wait," he whispered.
The limo pulled up to the back entrance of the hotel. Scott and I disentangled ourselves and walked into the building, keeping a discreet distance from each other.
We stood on opposite side s of the elevator as we rode up to our floor. I opened the door to my room and allowed Scott to walk in, before following him. I soon as I shut the door I pounced, grabbing Scott from behind and wrapping my arms around his stomach.
I gently kissed the back of his neck. "God I've missed you Angel," I murmured.
Scott turned in my arms to smile softly at me. "Missed you too," he whispered before leaning down and kissing my lips.
I know I had promised Scott we would talk when he came back. But it didn't have to be this night. Other things were more important. I moved my lips over Scott's face, slowly relearning the grooves and valleys of his flesh. My lips reached his right ear and I kissed it gently. "I love you, I want you, I need you!" I whispered intently.
Scott laughed softly at my need and pulled me towards the bed. "Want you too Love," he murmured as he sat on the side of the bed and began to unzip my pants. I stood quietly allowing him to undress me as I ran my fingers through his curly hair and over his shoulders. Finally Scott stood and pulled off my white t-shirt. I reached down and unzipped Scott's jeans at the same time.
We both kicked our pants and boxers away. Scott yanked his shirt off and then pushed me back onto the bed before crawling up beside me. He leaned over me, gazing down at me. I lost myself in his emerald eyes. He traced his fingers down my cheek setting my skin on fire. He followed his fingers with his lips making me shudder. I was so aroused I was afraid I would explode.
I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him closer, as my lips found his and kissed him forcefully. I could feel Scott's arousal pushing against my thigh and he began to thrust against me. I couldn't wait any longer and pulled back to meet his gaze. "Scott," I gasped out breathlessly, "Make love to me Angel, please?" I pleaded.
Scott smiled at me tenderly and glanced around the room for supplies. "Do you have any lube?" he asked as he began to nibble on one of my erect nipples. I gasped and waved my hand in the direction of the bathroom, no longer able to speak. Scott grinned and pushed off the bed. "Right back Love," he said and dashed to the bathroom. I moved restlessly on the bed until he returned a minute later. He stood beside the bed and stared down at me as I lay panting softly, waiting for him. He knelt on the bed beside me and stroked my heated flesh. "It's been too long Love," he murmured. I could only smile up at him sweetly and pull him to me. We quickly began to make up for lost time.
We were wakened the next morning by AJ pounding on the door.
"Hey, sleeping beauty, wake up!" he shouted and then banged the door a few more times. "Don't make me tell Mom!" he whined. That did it. Scott and I both knew whom he was talking about and neither one of us wanted to sit through a Kevin lecture.
Scott was closest to the door so he rolled off the bed, grabbed a pair of boxers from the floor and padded to the door. He flung the door open just as AJ raised his hand to bang again. I watched from the bed as Scott glared at him. "Anyone ever tell you, you're a tattletale?" he asked.
AJ grinned sheepishly. "Sorry," he said, and waltzed into the room past Scott. Scott sighed and closed the door before following him. I knew our alone time was over for now.
I glared at AJ, but Scott laughed at me. "Don't bother love, he's immune to glares, I already tried," he complained and flopped down on the bed beside me.
AJ sat in one of the chairs. "Its good to see you Scott," he said seriously.
Scott had to smile at that. "Thanks AJ, its nice to be back," he admitted before pulling me closer for a hug and kiss.
"Well I won't keep you both, but I was sent to get you up Brian," AJ admitted as he stood. "We have some press interviews this morning, and then rehearsal. Fatima wants to change one of the routines, so its going to be a long day."
I sighed loudly. Scott was only just back and we were already back into the daily grind and still hadn't had a chance to talk. Scott gave me a comforting squeeze then crawled off the bed again. "Okay AJ, we'll get ready," he said as he led AJ to the door. He pulled AJ into a hug. "Its good to see you too, by the way," Scott said before shoving him out the door. I could hear AJ laugh as Scott locked the door and turned back to me.
I had rolled onto my back and was staring up at the ceiling frowning, as Scott walked back to the side of the bed. I glanced at him. "Sorry Angel," I murmured.
Scott shrugged and smiled slightly. "Not your fault Love. I know your schedule is hectic." He reached for my hand and pulled me up. "Lets go shower," he said. "We'll have more time if we share," he added with a leer. I grinned and dragged Scott into the bathroom.
We managed to be only five minutes late to Kevin's room. He must have been happy to see Scott though because he just gave us a dirty look and began to talk about the band's schedule. Scott gave Nick and Howie a smile and little wave before sitting beside me to listen to Kevin. I already knew the basics of the schedule but it must have sounded intense to Scott. I began to wonder when we would get a chance to really talk and noticed Scott look at me. I knew he was wondering the same thing. Scott returned his focus to Kevin when Kevin spoke to him.
"Scott, management would like to go over the final version of the web pages with you before they go on-line," he said. "Are they ready to go?"
Scott thought for a minute. "Yeah, I spent some time on them while I was at home, just fine tuning. But I wouldn't mind a couple of hours to do one last check before presenting them to the bosses," he added.
Kevin looked at his appointment book. "Okay, could you meet with Mike and Jeff around three today? Someone from the label will be there as well."
Scott shrugged. "Sure, no problem. But what about you guys?" he asked and we all looked at him, wondering what he meant. "Don't you want to see and approve the final versions of your personal pages?"
Nick answered. "Aw, Scotty, we trust you," he said. Scott gave him a dirty look.
"We'll look at our own pages once they are up and let you know if we want anything changed," Kevin said. "But what Nick said is true, we do trust you Scott." I gave Scott a little hug. I was happy the guys had so much faith in Scott. "I'll have someone call you with the exact time and location, okay Scott?" he asked. Scott nodded.
As soon as the meeting ended, we had to get ready to go. We didn't even have time for breakfast. We would get some food at our first interview. I was a little frustrated that Scott and I didn't have more time, but I knew I had little control over the schedule.
I reluctantly left with the others despite and overwhelming desire to lock the door and hide out with Scott. We finished with the first interview and had a brief meeting with the record label. They wanted us to start writing new songs in preparation for our next CD. I refrained from commenting, but wasn't happy. We hadn't even finished the current tour yet. I really didn't want to think about the next CD. I wanted some time off to spend with Scott. The rest of the interviews went quickly, then we had a very brief lunch before heading to the arena for rehearsal. I did manage to give Scott a quick call while we ate. At rehearsal, Fatima worked us harder and longer than normal. It was after six when we got back to the hotel and only had time for a quick change before going back to the arena for a meet and greet prior to the concert.
I quietly opened the door to the room and immediately saw Scott stretched out asleep on the bed. He looked beautiful, and tired. I hoped he wasn't pushing himself too hard. I silently walked over to the side of the bed and watched him for a few minutes. Finally I couldn't resist and had to wake him.
I gently reached out and trickled my fingers over his face. Scott woke slowly, blinking the sleep from his eyes I found myself staring into two gorgeous green eyes. I couldn't help but smile and soon he smiled back. "Hello Love. When did you get back?" he asked as he stretched on the bed.
I lay down beside him and gently stroked his cheek. "A few minutes ago. You looked so peaceful yet so delicious I had to wake you. Sorry," I apologized but didn't mean it.
Scott grinned. "I forgive you. So what time is it? How did the interviews and rehearsal go?" he asked.
"Its about six thirty. We just stopped back here for a few minutes before going to the arena. Everything went okay today. How about for you?" I asked.
Scott nodded. "Good. They liked the sites." He sat up and looked at me. "In fact, Mike and Jeff offered me the job of overhauling the official Backstreet site," he told me.
I was surprised. "Really? That's great! You going to do it?" I asked. I knew he would be perfect for the job.
"I want to. But I wanted to talk with you and the other guys first," he explained. I thought that was sweet, but I wouldn't tell him what to do. I could give him my opinion though.
I nodded. "Okay. We can all talk tomorrow. But I know they will want you to do it too," I said excitedly. I crawled off the bed and walked to my suitcase to find some clean clothes. "Are you going to come to the concert tonight?" I asked as I began to change.
Scott was quiet as he thought about it. He shook his head. "I don't think so. I'm feeling really tired. My body isn't used to regular living again. I think I'll try to catch up on some sleep."
I quickly walked back over and leaned down to kiss him. "You okay?" I asked, unable to keep my concern from my face.
Scott stroked my cheek and smiled. "I'm fine Love, just tired. You go sing and dance your ass off. I'll be here when you get back."
I grinned, kissed him again and walked to the door. "Love you Angel," I murmured back to him.
Scott blew me a kiss and I walked out the door.
I honestly don't think it was intentional on my part, but I know I am the one to blame for things going back to the way they were before Scott had taken his trip home. I found myself delving into song writing. I would write with anyone who was willing. With Scott starting to work on the official BSB site, our time together faded to nearly nothing. Both of us would flop down on the bed either in the bus or hotel room and that was our alone time. We never did get a chance to really sit down and talk. I think subconsciously I was avoiding it, because I really didn't know what to tell Scott. He is the most important person in my life, but was he the most important thing in my life? I'd like to think so, but my fear of being outed made me unsure. I watched us fall into the pattern as Scott went out with the guys to movies, or just to play some pick-up. I wanted to join them, but just couldn't force myself. I could feel the stress quickly building and wondered how long it would take for things to explode.
To be continued...
