Moonlight So we meet again rubber ducky....

"You got to be fucking kidding me...." Jared looked me up and down then shook his head. "Why the fuck will a chick like that ask you?"

I felt violated for some reason. "What's wrong with me?"

"Nothing. Just that you don't really make the poster boy for manly..." He gave me a little smile. I got my cupcake and threw it at his face. "What the fuck was that for!" He yelled as he started wiping the frosting off his face.

"For saying I'm not manly! I'm not the one who got his ass kicked by a squirrel!" I tried glaring but my smile broke through and I started laughing.

"Shut the fuck up." He growled and I stopped to wipe the tears from my eyes; laughing a lot did that to me.

"Seriously though, Jessie asked me to go to homecoming dance with her." I handed him a napkin and covered my smile with my hand. He had the cupcake sprinkles in his hair.

"Weird though, since she is a fine-ass girl. She could get any guy she wanted, and she choose you?"

That was true. "How about if she knows most guys are sexist pigs who only want one thing?"

"If so I'll change her mind." Jared tossed me the napkin and started eating his lunch again.

I gave a little yawn and started eating. "Says a guy who has sex with random girls..." That was the only thing I hated about Jared. Aside from his constantly talking about sex, though he was a pretty decent guy.

"At least they know it doesn't mean shit. Just rubbing things together."

"Pig."

"Oink."

"So, anyone ask you to the dance?" Mitch magically appeared right next to me. He had this little grin plastered on his face.

"As a matter of fact someone did."

"That's cool. I'm flying solo this dance." He put his backpack on the desk and faced me again.

"No askers?" I sat on the desk and tilted my head to the side. If he didn't, that would be strange. Jared did say he dated a lot.

He turned to look out the window and scratched his cheek. "I got asked, but not by the right person."

Oh not the right person? "Which person did you want to ask you?"

He put his finger in front of his lips. "It's a secret. For me to know."

"Why don't you ask them to the dance then? It may be girls choice, but some guys don't care." Which was true since I passed a few guys asking girls.

"Well I would, but they have a date already. Not to mention the fact I don't know if they like me. Would be pathetic if I asked and they said no." Why did he say they and not she?

"Well, what if she does and you don't know? You never know until you do? It's better to try and fail than to not and wonder." I smiled at Jorge and Tim, they were early.

"Well, for this person I'll just do some snooping before I ask." He gave me a smile and sat down.

"Kinda sounds stalkerish to snoop on the person, don't you think?" I gave a little hi to Crystal and Lisa.

He chuckled and waved his hand in dismissal. "You call it stalking, I call it research."

I smiled. "Whatever makes it fine for you." I got off the desk and went to the board. "Okay time to work guys!"

So let's just say that Lou was happy to hear I was going to a dance. Usually I just skip them. Though happy could be a relative word though. Shall I say ecstatic? She got me a tux, even though I bitched and complained for two hours straight. Those things were itchy and constricting.

The middle of the week was uneventful to say the least. Jared made himself believe that I lied about Jessie asking me out, until she actually sat down to eat with us. Let's just say that there was another cupcake accident... this time with pasta. Jessie on the other hand, was creeping me out.

Asking me all sorts of questions of my type of guy, foods, music, hobbies, etc. Eventually I turned off my cell just so I could have some peace. She was a nice girl; just too snoopy. I smiled. Another person who was being snoopy was Mitch. That guy somehow managed to always find me alone in the hallways. If Jared was with me, then he would just wave and walk off.

"So are you going to tutor today?" Jared leaned on the tree and started eating an apple.

"Not today since today is homecoming..." I wish I did, so I wouldn't have to wear the freaking tuxedo.

"Cool, so wanna go together or do you want to meet at the gym?" He raised is eyebrow.

Like I had a choice. "Be ready by six or you get left behind."

"Fine, but can you wear the little chauffeur hat? I wanna arrive in some style."

"Yeah some style. Why are you going with Crystal anyway? If it involves the little rumor about her, then don't say anything..."

He chuckled and started drinking his soda. So it was about the rumor. No wonder he wanted her number so bad.

"I hope you get an STD. Then you might learn something."

"You know me and learning are bad."

I shuddered. "I'm not even going to dignify that with a response."

"Whatever. Going to buy Jessie a corsage?" I nodded. "Can you pick one for Crystal too? Don't wanna seem cheap."

"Yeah so cheap you're making me pay. Make's a lot of sense."

"You have money to spare; I don't."

"Pig."

"Hag."

I wondered if I could somehow have an inexplicable accident while wearing the tux. I shook my head, Lou would be able to fix it. Though she probably couldn't if there was enough tearing... I shook my head again. I fixed the tie and stuck out my tongue. Did I even need a tie? I tossed it to the side and made sure nothing was out of place.

"Well don't you look handsome!" Lou took a picture as soon as I got off the stairs.

I wobbled a little bit, "Trying to blind me with that thing?" I shook my head and rubbed my eyes. I could still see little blue dots.

"Just trying to savor the moment." She gave me a smile and took another one. I picked up the two corsages from the coffee table and left the house.

"You could have given me a warning you know..." I sighed. That was the most uncomfortable fifteen minutes in my life. Jessie's dad was grilling me about all sorts of things in my life. Not to mention he wanted to know details of what I planned to do with his daughter. Though when I played the gay card and going as a favor, shut him up.

Gotta love the gay card when dealing with a girls' parents. Not that I ever played it before.

"Sorry, I forgot to tell him about you being just a friend..." She smiled and fixed her dress. A strapless black dress with some kind of heels. "I swear he thinks every guy I talk to wants to fuck." She started putting on her black lave gloves. The only thing on her that wasn't black, was the ribbon in her hair. Pink ribbon. Kinda not noticeable with her red hair.

"Then hope he doesn't meet Jared. The walking hard-on."

"Really? Is he that much into sex? I heard some rumors about that..."

"Well not really; but he likes doing it though."

"Have you and him...." She paused. "You know?"

The car swerved a little as I gagged. "Hell no... Eww..."

She giggled. "Really? I thought that you guys might have..."

"No, we have known each other since birth. If we do anything, it would be incest since we're like brothers."

"I see..." She took out her cell phone and started typing.

"Off to the dance to have some fun..." Jared sang from the back. "To have some drinks. Tonight I score. Tonight I will snore."

All of us laughed. He was really bad at singing.

"Jeeves where is your hat? You know you cannot drive without it!" Jared glared from the backseat and I flicked him off. "Do you want to get fired?"

"Do you want to walk to the dance?" I smiled as he stuck out his tongue.

"Whatever. So Jessie, can I ask you something?" He leaned over close to Jessie. Crystal was busy staring out the window like a dog. I was half tempted to start rolling up the window, but I stopped myself. Too mean.

"Sure, what is it?"

"Why did you ask out a guy like Casey, when you can have a guy like Reid or Rick?"

"Reid wanted to ask someone and Rick is a prick."

"But seriously, why Casey? I'm sure a straight guy would have said yes." He looked over to Crystal and whispered. "Like me."

"Well, some guys are like walking hard-ons." I chuckled. That was what I called him a few minutes ago.

"Still though. Casey is not the type to go to the dance with, since he is not manly you know-"

"Get the fuck out..." I stopped the car and waited. Everyone looked at me confused.

"Huh?" Jared raised his eyebrow.

"Get the fuck out..." I put on my serious face. Even though inside I was laughing at his face. Hopefully some walking could get him to stop that.

"But-"

"Get."

"Jared I think you-" Jessie started but Jared stopped her.

"Casey, are you serious-"

"The."

"Dude, it's just a joke."

A car behind us honked.

"Fuck."

"Jared he is serious, get out..." I barely heard Crystal.

"Out."

Jared gave a grunt and got out the car. As soon as he was out I drove off and started laughing. It wasn't that far to school anyway; just like a five minute walk.

"That was mean Casey..." Jessie shook her head before looking back at Jared running.

"Well sorry; he was teasing me the entire week about you..." I chuckled and stopped at the side. Okay being nice again.

She chuckled. "Well hopefully he learned to stop."

"Shit dude, care to learn how to take a joke?"Jared got in the car and buckled himself in.

"Well, when you start learning not to make fun of your friend, we'll talk." I gave him a wink and started driving.

One thing crossed my mind when we entered the gym. Shit. The place was decorated nicely and didn't smell like sweat. One reason why I didn't like coming to gym more than necessary.

Everyone was dressed nicely and a few teachers were scattered around. Jessie and I separated from Jared and Crystal as soon as we entered. They wanted to dance and Jessie wanted talk more. Like usual, she was text messaging someone a couple of times.

"So, want to dance?" Jessie tucked her cell phone away and rose from her seat.

"Ugh, you have to lead though..." I got up when she nodded. I hoped that Jared wouldn't noticed she was leading, or I would be screwed.

When we danced, I noticed that Mitch was at the other side of the gym staring at Jessie and I while we danced. When he met my eyes, I saw him smile even from far away. I blushed when Jessie gave me a like twirl. I gave him a little wave but I doubted that he saw, when a girl rushed to him.

I squashed the disappointment. Okay, maybe I had a crush on the guy, but who wouldn't? I shook my head and continued to dance with Jessie.

"You are a pretty good dancer if someone leads." Jessie sat down and started texting again.

"Thanks. I'm not a very good leader in the dancing department."

"So what, not a leader but a follower?"

I blushed. "You could say that. I usually follow whatever Jared does anyway."

She took a drink of water. "So Casey, do you have a crush on anyone?"

I blushed again. "Why do you want to know?"

"Maybe I have a friend who finds you cute and adorable." She smiled evilly.

"Well, thanks but no thanks; I don't like hook-ups."

She chuckled. "He wants you to be more than just fuck buddies. Though he wonders about a few things."

"Wonders?"

"Yup. He had sex before, just not with a guy."

"Wai,t what?"

"My friend had girlfriends before."

"So he wants me to be his experiment." I gave a sigh.

"That's not true. He found something special in you when he first saw you. When he got to know you more, he realized it was more than he ever felt before. You see, he just dated because he was lonely. Though there was never anything more than sex or boredom when he did date."

"No sparks?"

"Exactly. I told him that he should wait for someone else, since he never found anyone he truly liked. Until now."

"So my gender doesn't matter?"

"He was wondering at first, but after starting to get to know you, he said fuck it." She smiled.

"Well good for him..."

"Want to meet him?"

I debated. "Sure, why not..."

"Good, just let me make a few little things. You will meet him soon."

I wondered how soon. Hey, if I didn't get a boyfriend, I could meet another cool person. I had Jessie, Jared, and Mitch.

"Well, do you mind if I get some fresh air?" I asked Jessie. She started texting and nodded. "'Kay, be back in few." The perfume around here was starting to kill me. Some people didn't know the meaning of scent lightly.

Someone also must have put on at least a whole can of Axe. I walked around the gym and sat down on the rim of the fountain. It was a little circular fountain with a little angel in the center, shooting water from its mouth.

I took deep breaths. It was a rather nice night.

"So I see Jessie got on your nerves?"

I looked over to the side and was surprised to see Mitch.

"No. She is a pretty cool girl."

"I see." He smiled and leaned against the wall.

"Nice night isn't it? Kinda romantic." It would be if I had a guy and cuddled up, looking at the stars.

Mitch smiled slightly and started coming over.. "Have you ever heard of love at first sight?"

Who hadn't? "Of course, who hasn't? Why?"

"Because I fell in love at first sight." He sat right down next to me. Close. Almost touching.

"Really?" He nodded. "How does it feel?"

"Weird actually. Never felt this way about anyone. Feels good to finally get it out in the open though."

"Wait. You JUST fell in love at first sight, or was it before?" I raised my eyebrow.

"Before. Today I confirmed it." He smiled and put his hand in the water fountain.

"So am I the first one you told?" He nodded. "I'm lucky then."

"Lucky has nothing to do with it. You are special to me, so I had to tell you first."

I blushed. "Thanks, so are you to me. In a short time you really have become a real good friend to me. Just like Jared."

I saw his mouth twitch slightly.

"I see..." He turned to the side, he took his hand out of the water. "Why aren't you inside with the others?"

"Just needed a little fresh air." I stood up and took a deep breath. It smells like water, wet grass, and cologne.

"So did I. Too many girls were trying to get me to dance."

"Don't like to dance?"

He chuckled and got up. "I do, but the right person didn't ask me yet."

"So the person you fell in love with didn't ask you out. So you came alone. You waited for the person to ask you to dance?"

"They had a date, so they couldn't ask me. Though I think they wanted me to ask them to dance." I noticed he said them again.

"Why would they not want to dance with you? You look great..." I blushed.

"So do you." I looked at him and blushed more.

"Thanks, not as good as you though." I looked in his eyes and saw something, real deep, and shivered.

"Cold?"

"A little. I'm going inside in a little bit. Jessie might get angry with me if I don't."

"Good."

I nodded and looked at the fountain. If I looked at him, I would blush more. I felt him get closer, and next thing I knew his lips were pressed against my cheek. It was quick and harmless.

When he leaned back, I put my hand on my cheek. It was warm. "What was that for?" My cheeks where burning.

"For saying I looked good. Well, its time for me to go. See you later." He winked and started to walk away.

I still held my cheek as I saw him leave. I couldn't even say good-bye to him. When he passed the corner I swear I saw something red flash by. I took away my hand from my cheek and looked at it. He kissed me.

There was a knock at the door when I walked down the stairs. When I opened the door, I was surprised to see a man in a suit.

"Are you Casey Carter?" I nodded. "This is for you." He handed me a manila folder.

I looked at it curiously. "Who is this from?"

"Steven Black. You have thirty days to appear in court sir." He turned and walked away before I could ask why.

I shut the door and looked at the envelope. Only one way to find out what this was about. I opened it out and took out the papers inside.

I read them over and over again. There was no way this could be true. I took out my phone and called Tim. Maybe he could explain to me why he could do this.

"They can't do this.... can they?" I looked over at Tim, as Lou put tea in front of us. I put some sugar in before I took a sip.

"Legally, yes they can, but some parts of what is in here is not valid." He shifted his glasses and dug into his briefcase.

"Am I still protected?" That was the only part I was worried about.

"Very much so. There's nothing they can do to take away your protection. Almost everything is under your name so it should be fine."

I took another sip. How obsessed were they?

"There's something here though that could be a hindrance." He bit his lip.

"What?"

"They want you under your grandmother's name."

I looked over at Lou and she had a sad face on. "Can they do that?"

"I am not sure about that. The will states that if your parents die, Lou will be your guardian. However, what this paper says," He pointed at the papers the man brought. "Is that your grandmother should have more rights than Lou."

"But didn't the judge say that Lou had full custody?"

"Not full, half. They found that out and now they want to take you."

"Isn't there anything you can do sir?" Lou put her hand on my shoulder, squeezing it for reassurance.

"For right now, no. However if-" Tim started.

"No, don't... Only for a last resort." We couldn't use that yet. If we did, it could ruin a few things if the timing was off. I bit my lip.

"But sir-"

"Little sir has a point sir." She cut off Tim just like I did. I gave a little smile, I was about to tell him not to call me sir. Though Lou called me sir too. "It would be reckless if you did."

Tim thought for a second. "You may be right, but as things are right now..." He looked at the paper and growled.

"There's someone else you are forgetting about..." Just because Steven was getting everything moving didn't mean that she knew. Aside from Lou, there were others who could help me.

"And who would that be?" Tim looked at me.

"It's easy to figure out who. You just haven't figured out that she probably has nothing to do with it."

Tim thought for a second before a smile graced his face. "Well that is true."

Time to go for a little visit to a special someone.

If anyone can guess why the title is named that way I'll give you a shout out if you want ^^. Also if you know who is the special someone, tell me. I'll give you a shout out too if guess it. Though it is harder to figure out than the ducky thing. The first person who guesses it right gets a special prize.
