My life with Pete

Update 1

Pete and I are now in the process of getting another adoption going. We were told about a 17-year-old boy. He is not gay, but he needs a loving family. His worker has spoken to him about gay people to see what his reaction was to gays. We understand he is very open to gay people. His worker has not told him about us yet. She is waiting to see what Pete and I decide about him. His name is Scott, yes he is an older boy, but he needs a loving family. He has been in the system for 6 years; he has had many problems to deal with and still is. This will be a new opportunity for Pete and I to really help a child in need. Even thou he is 17yo, he is more like a 15 yo in many ways. This will be where Pete and I will need to be very patient and very loving with him. He has special needs in school and in living in a family again. He does not know what its even like to be able to get himself something to eat without asking first. We understand that he is talking about joining the army when he ages out of the system, because he has nothing in his life. And no place to go. Pete and I have more to learn about him before we decide. But, if I know my Pete, Scott will be our 3rd son.

If any of you have ever thought about adoption, look into it. You may not get a gay child. But there are many children that need love, and you to help them. We were told by our adoption agency that gay parents seem to do VERY well with the raising of these children. More and more agencies and workers are becoming open about gays adopting. It is a know fact that a child is safer in a gay household than in one with a hetro dad. Gays don't rape their children, it is a known fact. In New York State alone, there are over 1600 children legally free to be adopted. Pete and I know that the system is failing many of them, not all foster parents do right for these kids. We can go on with what's wrong with the system. Pete and I have seen and heard about many things over the years. We have heard of children being put back with other family members only to have them be abused by them and be returned into the system. So brothers and sisters open your lives and your hearts and help a child. Yes, not all the children will not be easy, like we had with our first 2, many have problems and it will take much of you time. That's part of being a mom or dad. But the love you get in return well pays for it.

I hope you all think about adopting......

That's it for now, will keep you updated

Let us know if you get into adoption, we would love to hear from you. And we would like to hear from anyone else who has adopted.
