The Beginning: Chapter 5
The plane touched down like a feather. It came to a stop outside of the General Aviation terminal. A mobile set of stairs was pushed up to the jet. Will and Chris descended the stairs in silences and got into the waiting limo. Taking seats opposite from each other Will picked up the phone and spoke to the driver. He put hung up and said to Chris, "Well, Mark had already told the driver where we are going. You don't mind if we do some cloths shopping while we are here do you?"
"No sir, you're the boss." Chris replied toying with Will.
"Alright smart ass, you know you can call me Will. The only time you have to address me formally is when company is around." Will said.
"I know I just like pulling you chain. So what kind of cloths shopping do you have in mind?" Chris asked.
"Well, I'm not sure, why?" Will asked.
"I was just wondering. I could us with some more cloths since all mine went up in flames. I have some money saved up. I don't know how far it will go here though." Chris replied.
"Is this your first time in New York.?" Will asked, changing the subject.
"Yea, this is my first time outside of Georgia actually." Chris answered.
They drove on for a little while longer. Finally the limo came to a stop on Park Avenue. Chris and Will got out. Chris' head rolled back as he took in the building before him. Giving Chris a moment to take it all in Will then took Chris' arm and said, "Shall we go in. I have a little business to take care of." They walked across the lobby to the bank of elevators. Going to the last one on the left Will took out a small key and put it into a lock bellow the call button. He turned the key and pushed the button. The doors opened and they went inside. "I had this installed; my attorney and accountant are in this building. It makes getting to their office easier." Will explained. Looking over the car it had a nicely upholstered bench on three of the walls; on the control panel we're only four buttons, the Lobby and three floors. Looking at Will Chris asked.
"Your attorney and accountant own the top three floors of the building?"
"Actually no, they only work for me. I own the top three floors... and the rest of the building too." Will replied.
"Are you kidding?" Chris asked looking at Will. When Will didn't laugh Chris continued. "No I don't guess you are. How could you afford it?" Chris asked.
"Well I've had a few years to save up and invest some money. The initial cost was enormous, but once I got occupancy up it had paid for itself in five years. I paid the extra expense to have the building meet certain "green" standards. I figured that I would be around for a while and I wanted to help protect the world I would be living in. Now that is been here for a while it had paid for itself so I roll most of the profit into savings and investments. My accountant could give you the details. I usually let James...um. I usually let him keep me up to date. I never had much of a head for numbers." They arrived at their floor and walked out of the elevator. They were greeted by an older women seated behind a circular desk. "Hello Beth it's good to see you again. Can you please have both of them meet me in the conference room? Chris, would you mind waiting here for just a moment?" Taking a seat in the waiting room Chris picked up a magazine and began to read it. Will came out of the meeting about twenty minutes later and motioned to Chris. "Sorry about the wait. Are you ready for some shopping?" Will asked as they headed toward the elevator.
"Let's go." Chris replied. They walked out of the building and into the waiting limo. Will reached into his pocket and called Mark.
"Mark, we are on the way to Jaco's store. Can you go ahead and make arrangements for the night. Let's plan on the usual at the Hilton. I know its short notice but I'm sure you can convince them. As for dinner how about something private for Chris and I. Keep the plans for the staff. Let's plan on dinner at 7. Thank you and call me when you have the details." Will hung up the hone and asked Chris, "Have you decided where you would like to go shopping?"
"Me, I thought we were shopping for you. I have no idea." Chris responded.
"No, you need a wardrobe so its time to shop till we drop." Will responded grinning.
"You shouldn't do that. You could just give me an advance on my salary and I can get what I need." Chris replied.
"I shouldn't do what?" and "You don't get a salary." Will replied simply.
"Oh, ok." Chris said looking a little confused.
"I didn't promise you a salary when you agreed to serve me." Will added.
"Yea I know." Chris answered, bitterness creeping into his voice.
The limo came to s stop outside of a large men's clothing store. Will, turning to Chris said, "Let's go inside." They both got out of the limos and went inside. Moments after walking in the door a short balding man walked quickly up to them taking Will's hand and said. "Ah, Mr. Bradley, it's so good to see you again. It has been far too long. How are you?" Jaco asked.
"I'm fine Jaco. Let me introduce my new assistant Chris Thompson." Will said.
"Mr. Thompson, so nice to meet you welcome to my store." Jaco replied.
"Thank you. You have a very impressive store." Chris returned
"Jaco," Will interrupted. "I need three of your best associates and an awesome tailor that can do excellent work in a very short time. I need three new wardrobes. We are going to have a seat while you get prepared. Take all the time you need. Chris let's have a seat over here." They went over to a couch. Putting the brief case he had been carrying since leaving the accountants office on his lap Will opened it and took out a legal sized portfolio and a smaller box. Turning to Chris Will said, "I hope you know I was kidding about you not getting a salary. Well, technically you won't because you are not legally alive. Once you change your name you will be alive again but you still won't get a salary. I have decided, because of the position you are in, to give you this." Will said as he opened the portfolio. "It has the two main accounts you will be dealing with, the House account and my personal account. It also contains the cards of all of the House credit accounts as well as your personal accounts." Will said handing it to a shocked Chris.
"This is so much. I don't know what to say." Chris replied.
"Don't let it overwhelm you. Since you will be doing a lot of writing I had these mad up for you." Will said opening the box. Inside was a solid gold pen/pencil set with a symbol of a dragon on the side. "The dragon, encase you haven't guessed, is the center piece of my House seal. I also had this bought for you." Will handed the black leather briefcase to Chris. The black leather was supple; on the front was a blank brass plate. "I had them leave it blank until we get your name settled." Will explained.
"This is too much. I don't know what to say." Chris said.
"Well, thank you would be a good start." Will said, smiling.
"Oh yes of course, thank you! There is just one problem. I well...um...I don't know how to write out a check." Chris said a little embarrassed.
"Don't worry its real easy, I'll show you when it comes time. You will find using the debit card and credit cards much easier." said Will.
The two talked until Jaco came back over a few minutes later.
"So sorry about you wait. Mr. Thompson, are you ready?" Jaco asked pointing toward the back of the store.
"Me? What do you mean? I'm ready when ever Will is." Chris said a little confused.
"Chris you don't understand, we are here for you, not me." Will replied.
"For me?" Chris exclaimed tears forming in his eyes.
Will motioned to Jaco that they would be back in a minute. Jaco then turned and walked away.
Taking Chris into his arms Will pulled him into a close embrace.
"Don't cry please. You are special to me and I want to do this."
"No one had ever done anything like this for me. I just don't understand why you want to be nice to me." Chris replied tearfully.
"It's because I...um..."Will stammered. Trying to find the appropriate words to express what his heart was feeling. "I care about you." They held their embrace for a moment longer while Chris composed himself. Picking his head off Will's shoulder Chris said,
"I think I'm alright now. I'm just not used to people wanting to be nice to me".
"It's ok. I make it a habit to be nice to those around me. They take care of me and I take care of them." Will said.
Moving from each other Will motioned the way and Chris walked to the waiting room.
"Jaco!", "This man doesn't have any cloths. He's the one in charge. He needs dress, casual, and formal outfits. Chris will need three complete wardrobes, but right now he will need a nice outfit for dinner. I know you can handle it Jaco. I have given you impossible tasks before and you came through marvelously. I will step back and let you work" Will then sat down in a corner chair.
Immediately Chris was swarmed by the group of assistants, measuring, flashing color and fabric samples in front of him; asking hundreds of questions. Chris's head was spinning. Soon they brought in a mountain of cloths and started trying on outfits. For almost an hour and a half Chris was measured, dressed and undressed, pocked, pinched, and stuck. When they were finally finished Chris was a little grumpy. As all of the assistants left the room Chris mumbled,
"I'm glad that's over with."
"I know, bet you never knew that shopping could be so much fun did you?" was Will's replied sarcastically. "Well only thing left is to pay the man." Turning to Jaco Will asked, "Credit as always?" He said this more for Chris's benefit than as a question.
"Yes Mr. Bradley that will be fine." Jaco replied.
Reaching into the portfolio Chris pulled out the Amex card and asked, "What's the total?"
"Turning slightly, Jaco searched for an answer. Will quickly stepped in and said "It's alright Jaco. Chris, just give the man the card." Chris handed over the card and looked at Will.
"Did I do something wrong?"
"Kind of, but it's ok. Jaco is a good friend. Most of the places I shop if you have to ask how much you don't need to be shopping there. You caught Jaco off guard, but he understands." Will explained.
"Ok, I see. I was just trying to protect your money." Chris replied defensively
"Don't worry about it. I don't expect you to do everything right, if I was that worried about it I would have kept you away until I could get you fully trained." Will explained. They talked for a few more moments until Jaco returned carrying a small binder with the card and a signature slip. Chris took out his new pen and signed the receipt without batting an eye. Placing the receipt back in the binder Chris handed it back to Jaco and replaced the card. Chris locked the briefcase and looked at Will, "Can I change into some new cloths? I have had these on for two days now." Chris asked.
Jaco stepped in "Of course, if you would like we can bring a nice pair of slacks, a shirt, and a tie for you to wear. We will have a blazer waiting for you at your hotel."
"Will it be the Hilton as usual Mr. Bradley?" Jaco asked.
"Yes Jaco and thank you for all your help." Will replied. "Well Chris, are you ready for some more shopping?" asked Will with a grin.
"You gentlemen feel free to stay as long as you like; when you are here?"
"Sure, I have the perfect idea." Said Will
Chris changed into the cloths that were brought to him. Then he and Will walked out together to the waiting limo. As Chris got in Will whispered something to the driver then got into the car. The limo pulled away.
"Where are we going Chris asked?"
"You'll see." Will said. "It's a surprise."
They rode in silence for several minutes. Chris was captivated by the sights of what he was the best looking man he had ever seen. The limo came to a stop. Will and Chris got out and Chris looked up. His mouth dropped open as he turned to Will and said, "The Empire State Building! This is awesome, it's huge."
"Yea, but wait till you see what I hope is waiting at the top." Will replied.
They entered the building just as the sun was beginning to set in the sky. In the lobby they were met by Mark.
"Your grace, all is prepared as you requested. It took some dealing but the substantial donation you made to the Empire State Building historical society helped things along. As soon as you are ready the elevator is down the hall and to the right. The attendant will be waiting for you." Mark explained.
"Thank you Mark, you always take care of the details for me." Will replied.
Will and Chris walked to the waiting elevator and started the quick ride to the top. They changed elevators most of the way up, the attendant told them,
"Gentlemen feel free to stay as long as you like; when you are ready to leave just press the elevator button." The attendant told them. They got in the car and rode the rest of the way to the top. As soon as the doors opened Will grabbed Chris's hand and said,
"Come on, the sun is setting in a few minutes." They ran through the gift shop and out to the observation area outside. On the west side of the building facing the setting sun Mark had setup a small table with two chairs. A bottle of Champaign was chilling on the table. Sliding Chris's chair out and taking a seat next to him they both sat in silences as the sun slide into the horizon. The sky was awash in reds and oranges, the view was breathtaking. As the sun disappeared the lights of the city blinked on one by one.
"That was amazing, thank you." Chris said.
Will took the bottle of Champaign and opened. He poured both of them a glass. Raising his glass in a toast they both sipped their glasses, enjoying the quite moments alone. A growl from Chris's stomach interrupted the reverie. "I take it your hungry?" Will asked.
"A little I guess." Chris replied.
"Good, so am I." Will said. "Then let's go."
They both got up and walked inside. Chris took one last look at the New York sky line before moving to the waiting elevator. They rode down in silences and entered the limo. Moments later they arrived at the restaurant. It was an elegant Italian place. They exited the limo and moved toward the entrance.
Mark called after them, "Chris, you'll need this." Mark said holding up a blue blazer. "They won't let you in without it." Chris took the offered blazer and put it on. Chris and Will entered the restaurant and were quickly greeted.
"Gentlemen, your table awaits; if you would follow me." They were led to a corner table. Their waiter came over and took their drink order. They talked through the meal. When they were finished the waiter came over and brought the check. Chris pulled out a credit card and handed it to the server. The server took the card and said "Very good Sir" then walked away.
Chris then asked Will "So, what's on the agenda for tomorrow?"
"Well, we need to fly home. I figure we would spend a couple days settling in and then begin your training." Will replied.
"Where is home?" Chris asked.
"I have several houses. One in Florida and one in Wales, but the one I feel the most comfortable in is the one on Bradley Island." Will replied smiling.
"Bradley Island? What, do you own an island or something?" Chris asked.
"Well, not exactly. It actually belongs to the U. S. Government, but as part of an agreement I made, I have authority over it. It was given to the Conclave. The king did not want it so my house, being the most powerful, was given first choice of it. I accept it and the other houses have been jealous of my tropical paradise ever since." The waiter came back and handed Chris the signature slip, Chris signed it and added a large tip. They thanked the waiter and left the restaurant.
The limo trip to the hotel was short. When they arrived at the Hilton, Mark opened the door and led them in.
"I have reserved the presidential suite as usual, if you would follow me." They walked to the elevator and rode to the top floor. They walked through the double doors and into the lavish suite. The room before them was huge. It took up almost the entire top floor. It had four bedrooms, a living room and a private deck with a hot tub. The master bedroom had a private bathroom and the two smaller bedrooms shared a bathroom.
Mark turned to Will and asked, "Will you need anything else tonight?"
"No, that will be all. What time will the Blade be ready for take off?" Will asked.
"It is ready now." Mark replied.
"Very good, thank you Mark; would you please wake me at 8:30." Will asked.
"Yes sir, good night." Mark replied then turned and walked to one of the rooms. Turning to Chris, Will said, "I hope you enjoyed your night in the city. I'm sorry we could not spend more time here, we really need to get you trained, but I don't want you to worry about it. You'll do fine."
"Thanks" Chris said. Then looking around the room for a moment, he spoke, "I am exhausted. Can we get some sleep?"
"Well" said Will. "We've had a busy day, I think that might be a good idea."
"Great, then good night Will." Chris said. He turned and walked into the other room leaving Will standing alone and disappointed. Chris heard Will walk to his room and shut the door. Chris got undressed and tried to sleep. His mind raced with thoughts of and memories of the past few days. He thought about Will and all he had done for him. He so much wanted to tell Will how he felt about him, but doubt and fear of rejection plagues his mind. He tossed and turned for almost three hours. He finally got up and put his cloths on. He then went to Will's door to tell him he was going for a walk but when he heard the rhythmic breathing he knew that Will was asleep. Not wanting to disturb him, left a note incase anyone woke up and wondered where he was. Chris took the elevator to the lobby and stepped out into the street. Deep in thought, walked slowly down the dark street pondering many things in his mind. He was so wrapped up in his thoughts that he did not hear the two men following him a little distance off. The two men walked a little faster catching up to the unsuspecting Chris. As he came to an alley he heard them and turned just in time for the first one to cover his mouth.
"Well, well, what have we here? A faggot pretty boy, you're a faggot aren't you boy?" One of them asked, as Chris struggled.
The other said, "Oh yea fight it. That makes it more fun when we rape you." Realizing what was about to happen, Chris struggled harder but was no match for the two husky men.
"Come on babe you'll like this. I promise it will hurt a lot as your ass rips open to take me in. I love leaving them bloody and full of cum. That way I know I give another my deadly gift." The man laughed wickedly. Chris tried to scream but it was stifled by the hand still covering his mouth. Out of the corner of his eye Chris saw the flash of a knife. Tears began to roll down his cheeks as they cut his shirt and jeans off. They ran their rough hand up and down Chris' muscular body. Chris wished he had told someone where he was, he thought of how he would never see Will again. He would never see where that relationship would go. His tears began to fall as he mentally yelled for Will. Chris jumped in surprise as his underwear was ripped off his body and a finger was roughly shoved up his ass. Chris screamed in pain at the rough treatment of his tender virgin bud. Quickly the assault stopped and one of them said,
"It's time for the main event." Chris felt a large cock wedge between his ass cheeks. The rapist pulled back ready to break into Chris when he heard a voice say.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you."
It was Will.
"Oh and what do you plan to do? Why don't you just stand to the side and wait your turn. I'll be more than happy to do you next." The man said. Placing his hands on Chris's hips, he moved to take his ass.
"I asked you nicely to stop; now I'm telling you to let him go now or die." Will then stepped closer.
The man holding Chris pulled out a gun and pointed it at Will.
"Man you are just too stupid to live." The man said.
"Is that the best you can come up with, a gun?" Will taunted him. Chris felt the men began to tremble. Looking at Will he saw a truly horrific sight. He had transformed into the form of a demon. His fangs were full extended and showed over his lower lip. His hands had become sharp claws. "What's wrong boys? You're not scared are you?" Will asked, as he moved toward the men. With a quick snap of his wrist he broke both men necks. Their limp bodies fell to the cold pavement. Will then transformed back to his human form and reached for Chris. Chris latched on to him with a death grip. "I'm sorry, I let you down. I promised to protect you and I didn't. Are you all right?" Will asked. Chris could only nod his head yes as he held tight to the warmth of Will's body. "Mark will be here soon with the limo just hold on we'll get you inside and warm soon." Moments later a limo stopped at the entrance to the alley. Will tried to move but Chris stood still.
"I...I can't move." Chris whispered.
"It will be alright, put on my coat. I'll carry you." Will wrapped his coat around Chris's naked form and carried him to the waiting car. Will gently placed Chris into the limo and moved back to talk to Mark. "Call Dave and see how soon we can be airborne. Then call a clean-up crew for this mess. Take care of it all. Make it go away." Will instructed.
"Well, the Blade is ready. Chris woke everyone up when he called to you. Is he going to be all right? Did those bastards hurt him?"
"No, he is not hurt. He is still in shock and could not walk, but he will be alright. He just needs friends around him." Will said.
"When did you teach him how to call to you?" Mark asked.
"I didn't I guess it was instinct, his mind trying to save himself." Will replied.
"Well it worked, scared the shit out of me. Even your voice has never been that loud in my head. He even managed to wake up the servants on the island." Mark said in disbelief.
"I knew it was strong but I had no idea it was that strong a message. I'll have to teach him to control that." Will replied. "Well, let's get to the airport. Have the familiars had enough time to clean out the hotel room?" Will asked.
"Yes, I set them on it as soon as you left. I figured we would be leaving." Mark replied.
"Very good, I'm ready to go home!" Will said. They both got in and the limo sped off to the airport. When they got to the airport the guard at the entrance to the flight line said,
"I'm sorry, only authorized vehicles are allowed on the flight line."
"Let me assure you we are authorized. We have an emergency. We need to get to our plane." Mark said.
"I'm sorry" the guard said, "but I cannot allow you in without the proper papers!"
From the back seat Will said "Fuck this!" As Will said this, the guard's eyes glazed over and he went into the shack and opened the gate. Mark drove through and drove straight to the Blade. Will carried Chris up the stairs. As he passed the captain he said, "Get this us off the ground, now!"
"Yes sir." Dave replied as he ran to the cockpit. Will carried Chris to his bedroom in the front of the plane and placed him in one of the chairs and buckled him in. He then sat in the other. The captain's voice came over the intercom
"I need everyone to find a seat quickly. This will be a bumpy takeoff." The phone next to Will rang. "Sir" Dave said "It seems there is some kind of problem about a double murder. The police think someone on this plane is responsible. What do you want me to do?"
"Take us home!" Will responded. Out the window Will could see the lights of police cars. The engines on the huge jet roared as the plane began to roll toward the taxi way. The captain came over the intercom again,
"Attention, we don't have clearance to for takeoff so get ready for a hot one." As the plane approached the end of the runway the captain turned her hard. As soon as the plane was lined up on the runway he pushed the engines to full throttle. Will was forced back into his chair as the behemoth thundered into the dark sky. Once they leveled off a little, Chris naked the still silent, was led to his bed by Will.
"I'm not going to try anything. I am just going to hold you. Go to sleep." Will said as he snuggled behind Chris. They both fell asleep together.
Chris was awakened an hour later to the sound of voices talking softly. Chris rolled over to face Will. Mark was sitting on the bed next to Will who was feeding from his wrist. While Will was feeding Mark caught him up on the events since takeoff. Mark explained that the FAA wanted to take the flight crews licenses. "The cleanup crew arrived a little after the police. They cleared everything up but obviously not before the police came looking for us. It was all taken care of so no problems. Its going to take a lot of persuasion to get permission to land at that airport again, luckily there are two others in the New York area." Mark relied with a grin. Will pulled off of Marks wrist and licked the wound. It healed before Chris eyes. "We will be landing in about an hour" Mark said and then left the room. Will laid back on the bed and looked into Chris's eyes. Chris moved closer. He snuggles his nose into Will's neck, his head resting on his shoulder.
"I guess you're awake?" Will said softly.
"Um-hmm," was Chris's simple reply.
"I hate to bring up a bad memory but... are you hurt?" Will asked tentatively.
"No, they didn't hurt me. You got there just in time." Chris said.
"Good, I don't know what I would have done if you had gotten hurt. Do you feel like talking or are you still tired?" Will asked.
"We can talk if you want." Chris answered.
"How did you call to me?" Will asked.
"I don't know what you mean." Chris replied as he raised himself up on one arm to look at Will's face.
"You used you mind to send a message to me. Well actually you screamed one. You woke me and all my familiars up, even the ones on the island." Will explained.
"I don't know what I did; I just remember thinking about you. Wishing I had told someone where I was going." Chris said a little embarrassed.
Will pulled him closer and said, "Listen babe, this was not your fault. No way no how; it was random, there is no way you could have known it would happen. Can I ask why you left the hotel and started walking at 3 in the morning?" Will asked.
"I just had to think about some stuff." Chris replied laying back on the bed.
"Anything you want to talk about?" Will asked.
"Well...can you still read my mind?" Chris asked.
"I can but it is difficult. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." Will informed him.
"No, I need to tell you. I am just a little nervous that's all. I am not sure how you will respond." Chris answered.
"Just come right out and say it then. I promise what ever it is it will not change our friendship." Will told him.
"Actually I think it will." Chris said. Taking a deep breath and releasing it Chris said, "Will, I..."
End of Part Five.
