When Jon Met Nick
"God I hate business trips" said Jonathan grumblingin the back of the Gulfstream-V. He wasreturning to South Carolina from a long six day trip to Los Angeles. After some very intense discussions, hiscompany was now the owner of the largest chain of Travel Agencies on the WestCoast.
"What are you complaining about now?" askedAnthony.
"I am worth all this damn money and I'm a prisonerof it too" groused Jonathan.
Anthony came over carrying the Bloody Mary Jonathan had requested aftertakeoff.
"Well look at it this way" said Anthony. "You aren't traveling coach, you havesatellite capability here and internet access. Not too mention you are on yourown private jet; one of two I might add. If you in a bad mood, you should havebrought Renaissance instead the G-V. What more do you want? It's notlike you're in the middle seat of a Airbus you know. You could also have sent someone to do the work, but as I recallyou had "cabin fever" and wanted to go to LA."
"Some good head would be nice" said Jonathan.
"Well don't look at me" said Anthony, giving him one of his looks. "It's not myfault you got rid of your last boi toy. How long did he last? Two weeks?"
"What are you?" said Jonathan looking over hisdrink. "My conscience?"
"Among other things" said Anthony as he headed backaround the bar. "Let me know if you need anything"
"Thanks" said Jonathan.
He knew Anthony only meant well. Danny too he realized, seeing him in the frontportion of the cabin going over some paperwork. He realized he would be in overhis head without the staff around him; even his bodyguards. StonewolfEnterprises was an ever-growing enterprise. It was already bigger then his wildest dreams and about to becomeglobal. He also knew he was pushinghimself in his personal life as well. Over the past few months, Jonathan had gone through a series of bedmatesin rapid succession. He knew he needed to slow down.
After draining about half of the drink and looseninghis tie he connected his laptop to the connections on board. As the connectionwent through he called to Anthony who was reading behind the bar.
"Do we have any food on board?" asked Jonathan.
"Of course" said Anthony looking at him over hisglasses. "I do manage to do things while you're at work other then sit in theback and read playboy"
"Can I get something?" he asked suitably chastised.
"What do you want?" asked Anthony.
"Can you make a hot pastrami?" Jonathan asked.
"No problem." said Anthony. "Do you want another drink?"
"Please" said Jonathan returning to his computer.
After connecting into the net and a fast check ofhis email, Jonathan decided to log into the Nifty Archives. Absent- mindedlyfinishing his drink, he cruised through the various stories that had beenposted. He became very involved in a story that he hadn't seen before. It waswritten more as a story then just stroke material(sorry folks to those of youwho write that no offense.) He paused to nod his thanks to Anthony as hebrought his sandwich and second drink.
"Find something interesting?" he asked as he put the tray down.
"Yeah, actually I did" said Jonathan withoutlooking up.
Anthony just shook his head and walked back to thefront of the jet. Jonathan took a pauseas he was eating to see that the writer had a profile on AOL. He logged over toAOL and checked the profile to see that the writer lived in Colorado, was 18and a student at the University of Colorado. Jonathan was impressed at how well the story was written. It containedenough sex to be erotic without being oversexed. It carried a theme to thestory and read like a good novel.
After finishing the story and his food, Jonathangot up and went into the bedroom portion of the Gulfstream-V to change. Puttingon his favorite jeans and Boston University sweatshirt he couldn't get thestory out of his mind. Jonathan walkedback to the main portion of the jet barefoot and got another drink before goingback to the computer. On a whim he decided to write the author.
"Hey bro; I just read your story online on Nifty. I wanted totake a moment to say how much I liked it. It was pretty unusual to readsomething as well written as your story was. Keep up the great work. Jonathan"
He sent the mail out and didn't expect to hearanything from it again. Finishing hisdrink he walked forward to the cockpit.
"Hey Don" he said. "How we looking on the flight?"
"Pretty good boss" said Captain Hendrickson. "Weare about 3 hours out. No bad weather, so it should be a straight in shot"
"Great thanks" he said. "Wake me up when we areabout 20 minutes out."
"Yes sir, sleep well" came the reply.
Jonathan walked back to the bedroom, got undressedin fell into bed, surprisingly content with himself for some reason that hecouldn't fathom and was sound asleep within minutes.
Chapter Two: "You've got mail" said the computer.
Jonathan looked up from his paperwork to look atthe offending noise. It was two days after his return from Los Angeles and hewas still trying to catch up. He had been deep in thought over a contract whenthe computer broke his thought. Dammit,he thought to himself, I need to keep that logged off when I'm working. He started to shut the computer down and hedecided to take a break anyway. Clicking on the icon, the mail popped up. Jonathan was surprised to see at first itwas an email address he didn't know. He was about to delete it automatically, but the opening line was simply "Thanks". On a whim he opened the letter.
"Jonathan; Thanks for writing man. I appreciate the commentsabout the story. I had some funwriting it. I still need to work on the characters more. Keep in touch and I'll let you know when thenext part comes out if you want Nick"
Jonathan sat back in his chair and stared at thecomputer screen, half seeing it, half of him miles away. Shaking his head hefired back a fast note
"Nick; Nice to see you write back. The characters are whatcaptured my interest. I wouldn't change them. They are incredibly life like. You have a gift. Keep it up. Let me know when the next part is out. Jonathan"
Firing off the note he turned to see Brandonentering his office.
"What's up?" he asked as Brandon sat down.
"Not a whole lot, I need to go over next week'sschedule with you" he said.
With that Jonathan promptly forgot about Nick, theEmail and the rest of the world. For the next few hours he was involved in theever growing hydra that was Stonewolf.
When he got home that night, after changing andeating dinner Jonathan was debating what to do. Logging in to check email, he noticed mail again from Nick.Intrigued that he wrote back so fast, he checked it.
"Jonathan; Thanks for writing back man. I'm pretty glad youliked the characters. You asked aboutthe next part. I am going to post it tomorrow, but I thought I would send you acopy in advance. Thanks again, keep in touch" Nick."
Jonathan clicked on the attachment and then hitprint to get a copy. As the printer silently spit out the pages, Anthony camein.
"Where are you going for dinner tonight?" he asked."The limo is out front"
"I don't know." He said half his mind on the pagehe had picked up and was reading. "Prolly Chart House"
"OK" said Anthony. "I'll let Danny know. He doeslike to know these things. Also, I need to you look over the list of guests forthe event this weekend"
"Thanks" said Jonathan and added it to the pile ofpaper growing from the printer. He scooped it all up and after grabbing ajacket off the back of a chair and getting his cell phone from Anthony at thedoor went to dinner. In the limo hefinished reading the story. Intrigued and a little aroused, he re-read thestory. The story remained with himthrough dinner and the ride out to the club that evening. After watching the crowd for a while heended up dancing with a local lifeguard who he had previously had an encounterwith. The lifeguard ended up cominghome and spending the evening with Jonathan. Even during the sex Jonathan's mind was not into screwing the hot tightsmooth ass of the lifeguard but in his mind it was one of the characters in thestory; the one that seemed a lot like Nick.
The next morning after another round of sex at 5 AMthe lifeguard left. Jonathan took a leisurely shower and sat down at breakfastwith the morning paper and his printed out emails, inquires and faxes. He finished breakfast and walked over to hiscomputer and before anything else wrote Nick.
"Nick; Thanks for part two. It was even better then thefirst part. You are expanding the characters. Keep it up. If you are interested,I'd like to talk to you and hear more about you and where this story is going Jon"
The rest of the morning was a blur; going from thehouse to the office to flying to Atlanta to a meeting, up to New York then backto Hilton Head. After a shower and adouble shot of Jack Daniels he sat down with a second more leisurely glass, andlogged in to his personal mail; actually hoping to hear from Nick. There was nothing there.
Surprisingly disappointed, he logged off. As he took a sip of his drink, Anthonywalked in with a phone in his hand.
"How many people have this number?" he asked suspiciously.
"About six" said Jonathan, curious at the look onhis face. "You know that is my personal phone, why?"
"There is a person on the phone no one knows" saidAnthony. "He said his name is Nick"
