Dear Nifty Readers and Authors:
I want to update everybody on my prognosis so far.
The enlargement to the Pineal Gland is due to a cyst that is either in or on it, so surgery is now a must if I wish to live a long time. Without the surgery I would die from brain cancer if the cyst develops that far. I am not wanting to take the risk of cancer so I am choosing surgery.
Some of the risks involved with the surgery is vision and or memory loss, paralysis and even death. After surgery I will be placed in ICU for a week or more depending on how well and fast I recover. Then I will need to spend time in rehab learning to do things again. As with any brain surgery there is the risk of having to retrain motor skills and vocal skills, thus the rehab.
In all I am looking at a couple of months off line if everything goes well, maybe sooner. If not, then we'll see.
This is just an update on my situation and I want to personally thank everyone for the e-cards and e-mails of support.
Thanks and be careful, Wes
