This story is fiction and is not intended to imply anything about the true sexuality of the celebrities mentioned. If you are under 18 years of age, please leave now.
OK, guys, I haven't received much email from people. If you are reading this and you do like the story, I can tell you that it is only going to get better. Let me hear from you. I going to finish the story regardless, but it would be better if I got some emails telling me how the story is. C'mon.
It doesn't take but a minute to do that. Anyway, enjoy this chapter. The next one will come out within the week. PS. Thanks to Angela, (Fozziebaby) for the great emails. I love talking to you. I hope to keep it up for a long time. See ya.
Tony, Mitchell, Pat and Steve rode to the arena with JC the next morning. I stayed behind so that I could pack the things that I would need for the road. JC told me what I would need to bring since we were going to be on the road for a long while to come.
Around noon, the phone rang and Tony said that the guys finally accepted his invitation to eat at his restaurant and told me to meet them there at 12:30.
I had just finished packing before he called, so I decided to just sit and relax a little before leaving.
I got to the restaurant a little late and they were already at the table. On my way in, I passed Andre, one of *Nsync's bodyguards. He asked me to take a short walk with him, which I did. He explained that it wasn't the guard's duty to keep me from harm, but JC asked them to watch out for me as one of the guys.
"I don't know what's going on with you and JC, but I can tell you this. If you hurt him in any way, you will have me to deal with later."
"First of all, it was the guys idea for me to come with them. I told them that I didn't want any special attention. I was just along for the ride. Second, I won't hurt JC. That will never happen. Andre, I love him. Nothin's going to happen. I promise you that," I explained.
He took my hand and shook it as if we just made a deal for a bet. As he and I were walking back to the door, he hit my shoulder and smiled while I walked in and looked for the guys. I looked around and saw Max, the manager, standing at the kitchen and asked where Tony was.
"He's in the back giving the chef's instructions on something. The other party is in the alcove in the back."
I told him thanks and went around to the back of the dining room and found a table that seated 12. There were two chairs empty, one for me and the other for Tony. The two additions were Sonya and Tom. JC had left the seat next to him open for me. On the other side sat Tom. I secretly hope that this wasn't going to be hell to get through.
Lunch turned out fine and everyone held great conversation. Including JC and Tom for a change. After lunch, the guys thanked Tony for the meal and they all got in the limo for the ride back to the arena. JC said he would ride back with me and Tom just turned his head and got on the bus.
"Andre," I shouted, "you wanna ride with us?'
"I'll take the bus. Thanks anyhow."
JC and I got in the car and followed the bus. On the way, JC asked why I asked Andre if he wanted a ride.
"Well, I want these guys to know that nothing is going to go bad. Everyone seems to be threatened by me. Plus, he said that if I hurt you that I have to deal with him."
"I can't believe he said that. Ughhh...that makes me mad," he said through gritted teeth.
"Well, you shouldn't have asked him and the others to keep an eye on me. JC I can handle myself. These guys aren't getting paid to watch me, just you guys."
"Still he shouldn't have said that. I'll talk to him when we get back," he said.
"No you won't. I assured him that everything will be ok and that you won't get hurt. We shook on it and he smiled like he knew I was telling the truth. Plus, I don't think that I can afford to hurt you."
"Why do you say that?"
"Because, if I do, I may end up in the hospital after he gets done with me," I said as I started laughing. JC soon followed suit and soon we were in hysterics.
The rest of the afternoon, all the guys were having a blast. They played pool and basketball with the group. Tony, Mitchell and Pat even got a few new dance moves from the guys. They just had a great time. Everyone enjoyed themselves. I just sat back and watched as all the activity took place, smiling the entire day.
When the guys started settling down and started their rehearsal, Tom came over and asked if he could talk to me.
"Sure," I said as I turned to the rec. room and walked to the couch.
"Listen, I know that you know that I am not too happy with the situation with you and JC. First off, I'm just worried that him being gay is going to get to the public somehow and I worry what will happen with the guys if it does. Next, I don't like the idea of someone else crowding this tour. That's just someone else that I have to look out for."
"OK," I said, waiting for more.
"Monty, I want to be straight with you. I don't want you coming with us. I don't think that it such a good idea for you and JC to hang with each other during the tour."
I was steaming. He continued.
"The tour will be over in seven or eight months. You and JC can be together then. I just don't want to have to be responsible for someone else."
I couldn't stand it anymore.
"First of all, Tom," I interrupted. "I didn't volunteer to come. JC asked me to come with him. He said that the others agreed. Because of that, I don't know where this is really your problem. Second, JC knows the risks of having me come along. If it gets in the papers, he will deal with it then. He already told me that. Third, if I hadn't met JC, there is no telling where he might be now. He told me that I pulled him out of a fast hitting depression." I stood up. "Plus, if I don't go with you guys, three of them are going to die and I can't let that happen. If you wanna throw me off the tour, go right ahead. You will be sorry when it happens and you will regret it for the rest of your life. Now I am not here to cause trouble, but if you do this, JC will get his depression back, he may even get killed. So think long and hard about the decision that you will be making, Mr. Johnson.
Three of their lives are in your hands."
I guess I started talking too loud, because when I turned around, everyone was staring at me. Tony, Mitch, Pat and Steve had come from their seats in the auditorium and were standing with the guys who had walked through the curtain to the back of the stage.
After I realized that they were there, I was the one regretting what I had just said.
"What do you mean three of these guys lives are in my hands? And what did you mean by JC may even be killed?" He asked me in a very angry tone as he stood up to face me.
I turned to look at JC and he started walking over. When he got to me, he was waiting for an answer.
"Remember when you asked what my premonition was about? And I told you that when the time was right, I would let you know?"
"Yeah," he said with fear in his eyes.
I tried to start talking, but I couldn't. I started feeling tears fall down my cheeks.
"In my premonition," I started through gasp of tears. "You and two of the other guys get killed in an accident."
"Who are the other two?" Justin asked.
Still crying, I told him that he was one of the two. He had to sit down at the news that I had just given him. He also started crying. Joey went and tried to comfort him.
"Lance was the third in my dream," I said to JC only.
JC turned around and looked Lance in the eyes and started tearing. Lance, instead of sitting, walked away from the group to the front of the stage. Chris went after him to make sure he was ok.
"In my premonition, a drunk driver hits the bus as it's going through an intersection and you three get killed in that accident. God, JC I didn't want to tell you. It's just going to worry you. You're just going to be scared to get on that bus from now on. I know it."
JC couldn't answer me; he just turned around and stood there. I couldn't stand the stares anymore so I ran the other way and went out of the auditorium. I fell back against the wall and breathed the fresh, cool air and slid my way down to a sitting position. I cried. There was nothing else to do but cry, so I did.
Ten minutes later, the door came open with a creek and Lance walked out. He had been crying. He just started yelling at me. Telling me that it wasn't true. It couldn't be. He was slowly going into hysterics. He began hitting my chest telling me, "No. It's not true. It can't be."
As he was yelling, he let something slip that I caught. He said, "JC can't die. It can't be."
He eventually collapsed into my arms as I hugged him and cried softly. A minute later, I grabbed his hand and pulled him behind me to the couch. When I got there, Justin was still sitting but JC was nowhere to be seen.
"Where is JC?" I asked getting my composure back.
"He went to the front of the stage," Tony answered.
"Go get him," I said to no one in particular.
When JC came to me, I told him to sit down next to Lance. He protested.
"SIT DOWN, JC!!!!!!!!!" I yelled at him, pointing to the couch.
He slowly sat while staring at me the whole time. He had finally seen my bad side, and he didn't like it.
I placed one hand on Justin's knee and the other on Lance's. I squatted down in front of them two and told them that it wasn't going to happen.
"I promise you that it won't come true. I have changed my premonitions before. Remember when I told you guys that JC stepped in the street and got killed? Well, I pulled him back didn't I? He's still alive. I won't let this happen. I promise." I lifted my hand to Justin's chin and lifted his face so that I could look in his eyes. He was still crying. I placed my hand on his cheek and wiped his tears with my thumb.
"I promise," I said again to Justin. He slowly stopped crying and just sat there.
I looked at Lance again and he had stopped crying but still had tears on his cheeks. I wiped them away and promised him as well. I finally stood up and looked at JC. He just had a blank look on his face. I sat in his lap and looked at him. He didn't look back, but I knew that he knew I was telling the truth. He put his hand in my lap as a way of responding.
I leaned in and kissed his forehead and told him that nothing was going to hurt him as long as I was around. Tom looked at me and asked me to come with him so we could talk again. Before I went with Tom, I went to my friends and told them to keep and eye on everyone.
"Try and get them moving again, if you can," I said to them.
I walked with Tom out of the auditorium in silence. Once we got in the parking lot, Tom started the conversation.
"I'm not doing this for you. I am only doing this for the guys. You have them scared out of their minds. They have no concentration for tonight. I am agreeing because you said that you could somehow stop this....dream from coming true. How?"
"I don't know. I have to wait until it happens for me to know that. I will stop this from happening. I know I will. You just have to trust me on this. I will change this for them. Tom, I can see the future when it wants me to see it. I can change what I don't like about what is shown to me. I will change the future on this, but I have to be with them to do it. I saw this premonition before JC and the guys asked me to come along. I was on the bus with them when the accident happened. I now know how to stop it, but I have to be there."
He was still mad that I mentioned this in front of the guys and he left without saying another word to get the guys going again. I waited for a few minutes before Pat came and retrieved me.
"You alright?"
"Yeah. I will be. You got a cig?" I asked.
He answered me by pulling out a pack and handing me one. I put it between my lips and he lit the end. I took a long slow inhale and held until I felt as if my lungs were going to burst, then slowly exhaled and watched the smoke float away.
"So," Pat started, "how are you gonna stop this one from happening?"
"I don't know yet. I don't even know where it happens. All I know is that we are leaving a city and this stupid truck hits us. I don't even know which city. What good is seeing the future if you can't get a complete picture?"
"You'll think of something," he said, wrapping his arms around me. I hugged him back and he said, "You always do."
We put our cigs out and walked back in. When we got to the back, everyone was moving about again. They weren't practicing, but at least they were doing something. I went and grabbed Justin and Lance and pulled them to the side.
"You guys feeling any better?" I asked.
"Not really," Justin said.
Lance didn't answer.
"I tell you what," I said as both looked at me. "If I end up saving your lives, which I fully intend to do, you two have to let me blow you again. Deal?"
They just looked at me then started laughing. I would have said anything to them to make them feel better. Thank, God I found the right thing. They looked at me still laughing and said that they knew that I would take care of it. Lance even said that we had a deal. Then they turned and walked to the stage.
"C'mon, guys. Let finish the practice," Lance said as he waved his arm for them to join him and Justin.
Everyone started going to the stage except for JC. He was waiting for them to leave before coming to me.
"Now I know why you didn't' want to tell me. I respect the fact that you didn't want me to worry, but don't you think that I had a right to know?"
"When it comes to my premonitions, that right is given on a need to know basis by me. I didn't feel that you needed to know because if you did, you will do nothing but worry. I know your going to worry now, I'm just sorry that you found out."
"If you have another one dealing with me, I would appreciate it if you told me."
I didn't answer him, but turned and walked with him.
"By the way, what did you tell them two to make them start laughing?"
"I told them if I did change the future, they would have to let me blow them again. They said ok."
JC just stopped and looked at me with his mouth open. "You better not!" he said, still looking shocked.
"We'll just have to see what happens," I said as I started running from him laughing.
JC took off after me and before he could catch me, I was on the stage hiding behind Joey for protection. We played like that for another minute or two before Justin told me to get off the stage and let them practice. I did as I was told and took a seat with the other four and we watched the rehearsal.
During the rehearsal, I broke in several times to let them know how they sounded. When they got to "I Thought She Knew", it was Justin that was off key this time. I told him to take his mind off everything except the music and start over. They sounded great the second time around.
The concert came and went. It was great. The guys were just as good as always. They didn't let what I told them bother them through the show. It was strictly business. And they proved it. Tony, Pat, Mitchell and Steve loved the performance. I stayed back stage and listened. Tom even came up to me and we just talked in a civil tone. By then end of the concert, his feelings for me started to change for the better. He was still mad that the guys found out, but other than that, he started liking me more and more.
The next day, *Nsync had to leave for Memphis. On the way there, JC decided to ride with Tony, Mitchell and myself. He said that he wanted to drive, so I gave him the keys and the four of us followed the bus. Pat and Steve followed us. They decided to skip Atlanta and just follow the guys to Memphis and then to Cincinnati.
After the Memphis show, Tony and Mitchell said bye to us all and took my car back to Nashville. Pat and Steve asked if JC and I wanted to join them on the way to Cincinnati, and we accepted. Once again, JC wanted to drive and Pat agreed. Pat and Steve sat in the back seat and JC and I in the front. On the way to Cincy, some people recognized JC and started honking. He just waved and smiled. We didn't lose that car until about half an hour until Cincinnati.
Once the Cincy show was over, Steve and Pat said their goodbyes and we were off to the next stop. We just eased our way further west. The guys didn't have too much time off between Cincy and Denver, but once the show was over in Denver, they had the Christmas season off except for the occasional guest appearance on someone's TV special. They even had a special of their own. It was called "Christmas with *Nsync".
For the holiday itself, we finally got to meet each other's family. We had each made phone calls to our families and explained what was going on. I called mom and told her and she was happy I was in love again. I told here that I would introduce her when Christmas got here. I also gave here my cell phone number in case she needed me.
When Christmas finally arrived, JC and I spent Christmas Eve at my mom's house and Christmas day at his. Mom knew we were coming and she had a big dinner when we arrived. At about 11:00 on Christmas Eve, JC and I pulled into Savannah on the way to my Mom's house.
"This is where she lives," I told JC.
"It's a beautiful city. I would love to live here," he told me, looking at the old houses. "I have heard that Savannah has a lot of old history."
"It does. I don't really know it all, but this is one of the oldest cities in the South."
After talking a little longer and JC mesmerized by the Southern Heritage of the city, we pulled into my mother's drive.
"This is it," I told him.
"She has a beautiful house. And I love the neighborhood."
"Well, don't worry, she's gonna love you," I told him as I placed my hand on his knee.
As I did, the front door opened and mom stood there waiting for us with a big smile. We got out and got our bags and went to her.
"Hey, mom," I said as I grabbed her into a big hug.
"Hey, sweetheart. How have you been?" she asked pulling me back and looking me over.
"I'm fine. How are you?" I asked. JC was just standing patiently beside me.
"Oh, fine. Mike's downstairs with his models and Lance is out with Connie."
Mike is my step-dad and Lance is my brother. Connie is Lance's girlfriend.
"Well, mom, I would like you to meet JC," I said looking at him.
She took JC in a hug and told him that she was happy to meet him.
"It's good to meet you to Mrs. Andrews."
"Please, call me Marie. Everyone does," she explained.
He just smiled and we all walked in together. Once inside, mom yelled down to the basement for Mike to come up and say hey. A few minutes later, Mike appeared and I introduced him the JC. He and mom don't listen to too much pop. They like their oldies just fine. So it was no big shock for them who JC was. They just knew I was happy.
We all just sat and talked for about an hour before Lance and Connie drove up. I looked at JC and told him that I wasn't sure if I explained who you were or not.
"We'll soon find out," he said as he stood.
Lance walked in the door followed by Connie. He put his gifts down and gave me a hug.
"Wow, it's good to see you," he told me.
"Yeah, you too. How've you been," I asked.
"Fine. The business is taking off like you wouldn't believe. I have really hit on something with the internet."
After chatting with him for a minute or two, I went to greet Connie. After talking to her also, I introduced them both to JC. I obviously didn't tell them about JC, nor did mom. Connie just stared. She couldn't move. She just stood there in the doorway before mom had to push her out of the way to close the door. She finally came around after almost falling. Lance just stood there. I don't think he was in shock, but he didn't say anything.
After JC shook their hands and made in the introductions final, we all took a seat and started talking. Within 10 minutes, JC made everyone feel very comfortable and they all made JC feel welcome. We all had a good time talking about what was going on with each of us. Everyone just sat and listened to whoever was talking.
A few minutes later, mom asked if JC could help her in the kitchen and Lance and Connie excused themselves to go to Connie's house for a little while. Mike and I just sat and continued talking until he said that he was going to get back to his models "before your mother bans me from the basement for the night." I just laughed and walked into the kitchen before he disappeared downstairs.
When I arrived in the kitchen, mom and JC were laughing.
"What's so funny?" I asked.
"Apparently, you are," JC said still laughing.
"What did you tell him, mom?" I asked, glaring.
"I was just telling him of you fear of frogs."
"No you didn't. Did you tell that story?"
"Yes, she did. Did you really think that you would start hopping?"
"I was 10, alright. I didn't know if I ate frog legs that I wouldn't start hopping like one. I didn't know."
He and mom started laughing harder. I just stood there a little embarrassed. When the laughter finally died down, mom asked a question that floored me.
"What do you consider the two of you? Are you boyfriends or what?"
I stood in complete shock. Mom has known I was gay since I was 18, but has never known anyone that I had been with. So when she asked this, I really didn't know how to answer. JC looked at me and answered by saying, "As far as I am concerned, we are lovers. We have only know each other for about two trying months, but I see us together for a very long time."
Mom just smiled and I leaned in for a kiss. I forgot that she was standing there, but she didn't seem to mind. The rest of the afternoon, Mike was downstairs working and Lance and Connie showed back up at the house about an hour after they left. She went home to get her CD's for JC to sign and her camera. She just couldn't help it, she told me. JC didn't mind.
Before dinner, all of us were in the kitchen except for Mike who was still downstairs, when Connie asked how we met.
"I had a premonition that I would meet him on my birthday."
"You and your premonitions," mom said looking up from the turkey.
"Mom, please don't do this now. Anyway, I dreamed that I would meet him and he told me that he dreamed about me. So we both kinda knew to be at the club that night."
JC took over from there. "He was looking over the balcony where I saw him in my dream and I looked up. He seemed surprised that I noticed him."
"I was. You didn't notice me in my dream until you sat down. Well, he came upstairs and ordered a drink and right as I was going to introduce myself, he asked if I was Montgomery."
Laughing, JC said, "You should've seen his face. He looked like he was scared to death."
"I was, but you should've seen his when I called his name. He looked the same way."
We continued talking in turns adding our own little version of what we saw, but it was me who finished the story by changing it a little.
"When we were leaving in my premonition, JC got hit by a car, but I got there just in time to save him when we did leave. Then we went to the Waffle House and got some coffee. After about two hours there, I finally realized who he was. I almost freaked."
JC took over, taking my lead and making something up. "I had to practically jump the table to cover his mouth. He looked as if he was about to scream. When he finally calmed down, we continued talking. Since I had to perform the next night, he drove me back to my hotel and kissed me goodnight. The next day, I invited him to spend the day with all of us and he did, and the rest is history."
They were just looking at us and smiling. Lance and Connie ended up holding hands during our story. When we were through, mom asked Lance to go and get Mike and tell him that dinner was ready. Mom always outdid herself at Christmas. When we were done eating, she had food left over for at least a week.
After dinner, we did our little gift exchange. We celebrated Christmas that night. We each got some nice gifts. I gave mom a new digital camera. Lance gave me a laptop and JC gave me a camcorder. I gave JC a mini MP3 player. He loved it. I told him that we could use it with the laptop that Lance had given to me. We all had a great time with each other. Everyone seemed to like JC and I was happy that they did.
The time seemed to slip away from us, because when I looked at the clock, it was already past 8:00. JC said that he would call his mom and tell her that we would leave in the morning.
He stepped outside and called her and told her that we would leave by 7:00am. I got a tape and started playing with my camcorder. When he walked in he knew what I was doing, so he just smiled for the camera. We played with it for about an hour and each of them took their turns with JC. Mike didn't care to, but we talked him into it anyway.
When we all retreated to our rooms, I asked mom if she preferred me to sleep on the couch.
"Go ahead and sleep together. It won't bother us. Just no funny stuff," she said smiling.
"Mom!!!" I said.
"Well, Lance and Connie do it."
"Well, I won't." I kissed her goodnight and went to my room.
When I walked in, JC was smiling.
"What?" I asked.
"I heard what she said."
"I'm just surprised she didn't just ask me to sleep on the couch anyway. I guess she knows that we really care for each other."
"Guess so."
"So," I said as I started getting undressed, "you wanna fool around?"
"What about your mom?"
"As long as you don't moan or scream, then she'll never know."
"We better not. Just to respect her wishes, we can wait for another night or two."
"Or two?" I asked with big eyes.
"Yeah. You gotta problem with that?"
"Not really, but I was hoping that it would be sooner than that."
"Well, we could always make out."
"That's no fun," I told him.
"Fine!!!! Get away from me," he said pushing me away.
"Stop that. Scoot over and lemme in."
He pulled the covers back and I laid next to him. He put his right arm across his body so his hand could rest on my chest.
"What did your mom mean earlier?"
"When?" I asked.
"When she said you and your premonitions. She knows about them?"
"Yeah. I've had them since about 10 years old. What she meant was out of all the times that I could see the future, it was never shown to me about my dad. She was so upset that the...... 'spirits', I guess you would call them, didn't show that to me."
"Does she blame you for not being able to see it?"
"No, she didn't blame me, but I blamed myself. For a long time I thought it was my fault for not being able to see it. For about two months, if I had a premonition, I just ignored it. I didn't care anymore about it. I just didn't want it to happen to me anymore. I got tired of helping everyone else, but not being able to help my own father."
"Maybe you weren't meant to see it. Maybe it just had to happen that way."
He saw that tears started coming to my eyes and he apologized if he brought up any bad memories. I told him that it wasn't him but it was the self-blaming. He told me that it wasn't my fault. There was nothing I could've done. My tears began to stream by now and he just held me close. I eventually fell asleep with his arm wrapped around me holding me close.
