As Memorial Day passed this year and I was cooped up because of COVID-19, I'm reminded of an adventure of mine... This is the true story of a Memorial Day weekend I had around 10 years ago. The names have been changed to protect the parties involved.
All usual disclaimers inherent to sites of this nature apply. If you are not of legal age to be reading this content in your city, country, etc. please stop now before you break any laws. Also, regardless of how I refer to anyone in this story (I use words like "boy" a lot) all parties in this tale were around 25 years of age when these events took place, with me being the youngest, which means we were all of legal age in our place of residence. Ergo, you should be too.
I originally wrote this story without names, but decided it was getting confusing and therefore have added names. They are of course not the real names of the individuals. The two locations mentioned were also left vague for a reason. Even though it's a long shot that you'd guess who we are, I just can't run that risk. So, we'll leave most of the details the same and change a few little things. The details are pretty damn accurate since my partner went over this with me to make sure I got it all right.
I guess I should give a little background on what we look like. I'm about 5'6" with a small build. I'm slim with a bit of muscle tone on me, with dark brown hair and eyes. I'm Hispanic, but I don't look it at all. I don't have typical Latino features and a lot of people are surprised when they find out. My boyfriend, on the other hand, is Caucasian. He's six foot with a much bigger frame and broader shoulders. He can be pretty intimidating when he wants to be if you don't know that he's a sweetheart. He shaves his head (he's the first guy I've ever dated who shaves his head and I've never been attracted to the idea before, but it really works on him) but his hair is naturally dark brown and his eyes are a gorgeous shade of blue.
I believe that covers everything I have to say.
Remember to donate whenever you can to this great site, now more than ever I am sure they need the donations as much as we need the distractions.
Without further ado, my story.
Once Upon a Memorial Day Weekend
There's nothing subtle about lying in bed with someone, stranger or not, in a hotel room... and putting porn on the TV of all things. Especially the kind of porn that's billed to your room. They know you're dropping a hint. You know you're dropping a hint. The question is: is anyone going to do anything about it?
Rewind to about ten years ago. It was Memorial Day weekend and my boyfriend Luke and I were visiting my family in south Florida. Now, it wasn't unusual for us to be adventurous and seek out some company wherever we were (though not in our home in northern Florida, you don't shit where you sleep as they say).
I met Spencer on gay.com. That's where you went to meet people back then. There was no Grindr, there weren't any apps, it was pretty straightforward. Chat rooms and maybe Craigslist, I think that was around back then as well, but I haven't bothered to check. The term `ASL' (age/sex/location) was just starting to disappear as sites got more organized about displaying profile info.
Spencer's screen name didn't really catch my attention, but his profile did, and I was messaging anyone who remotely caught my eye to see who would bite. Well, he did. Before long I had him on AIM (AOL Instant Messenger, that and Yahoo IM were big back then) where he had the same nickname. Mine was also the same, it sucked when you later wanted anonymity... or to get rid of someone. Back then, not everyone thought in advance about that kind of thing.
We chatted, small talk, nothing remotely sexual. No exchanging of a ton of pictures, no measurements, just casual conversation. But there was this feeling between us, this chemistry that was undeniable. First thing I did was show my boyfriend. Luke looked him over and couldn't find any faults with the photos, profile or the conversation so he agreed we'd see how things went when we got to south Florida.
There wasn't anything particularly special about the trip, it was one we made every so often. His family is in north Florida, mine is in south. We lived in each place for a few years and settled on north being more our style.
Fast forward to us being at our destination. We rented a hotel room as it would be awkward for both of us to stay at my family's house (they didn't have a problem with us being gay or a couple, but we were planning on possibly hooking up). Not much of note happened with the family part of the trip thus far (as if it would interest you) so we decided it was time to meet up with our boy.
He was much cuter than his pictures. About my height, with light brown hair and the warmest smile. We seemed to hit it off from moment one, which was a good sign. Luke and Spencer hadn't talked at all at that point. We hadn't even spoken on the phone other than a brief rundown of where to pick him up.
The three of us drove around for a while figuring out where to eat. In the end we couldn't decide on any place in particular, so my boyfriend asked our new friend where his favorite place to eat was. It was some fancy restaurant he loved though I don't remember the name, but it was nothing I'd ever heard of before. We decided to go there. He was studying to be a chef, so he was really big on fine food.
Let me pause here to explain something. I am extremely picky about what I put in my mouth (you know what I mean, but yeah it counts in sex too). I don't eat a lot of food out there because my mouth and tongue do not respond well to any kind of spicy anything. It's really unfortunate and limits my options, so most of the time I go with chicken or pasta. So, I'm dreading the idea of going to this place and not having anything on the menu I can eat because it's happened before at high-end restaurants where the dishes are a mix of gourmet cuisine. Back to the story.
I eventually decided on a chicken dish (one of my staple foods as mentioned above) and it was better than I expected. We sat, we chatted, we ate. Everything was going perfectly. To be honest, I'm making it sound a lot more mundane than it was. The conversation flowed well, there was a lot of chemistry between the three of us. Even though we barely knew this boy, we seemed to really get along from the start. There wasn't that awkward period sometimes when you first meet someone, it was completely natural. If things hadn't been going so well, we might have just left it at dinner. But things were going so great that the moment came when it was time to see where the rest of the night would lead us.
My boyfriend is, quite possibly, the most persuasive person I've ever met in my life. When it comes to us acting as a team, we work really well together. He's also very good about getting me what I want. He knows how to set it up and make it happen. We also communicate very well so we can usually figure out how the other one feels about a certain situation. We both knew we were in sync about this boy, so there was no hesitation in our next course of action.
We started to discuss possible activities to continue the evening with. We didn't really have many options because of the hour, and we didn't want to go to a club. So, we invited him back to the hotel to hang out. Nowadays, there would be no question where something like that would lead. Back then, things were a lot more subdued. Like I said, there was no Grindr and you tended to try not to rub your gay in someone else's face. Netflix & Chill wasn't a thing. But the chemistry was there, we were having a good time, clearly we were nice people and so he agreed it was a good idea to hang out further -- mind you, nothing sexual had been discussed up to this point at all.
Once we got back to the hotel, we parked and went up to our room. The three of us hung out for a while and we all laid on the bed to watch a movie: Luke, me in the middle, and then Spencer. I don't recall what the movie was, but we actually enjoyed it.
Once it was over and Luke was flipping through the other movies looking for something else to watch, he (by accident, actually) came upon the adult section and remarked that there was only ever straight stuff anyways. Spencer pointed out that many times nicer hotels like ours (we booked a nicer one since we were planning to entertain) have more of a variety. We took that as an invitation to investigate further. It was mostly straight stuff, some of it really funny sounding, but they did have a few gay titles. Luke picked one and put it on...
