Gay

This is my first story with chapters that I'll be posting on Nifty. I've written others but decided to share this one first. Other stories I have written are Gavin's Got Game, Hayden's Story, Shawn's Turn, Teddy Bear, and the After Party. You can find the first three here in the high school section and the latter two in the college section, all under the gay category. If you have trouble finding them, I am under the Nifty author section as Aaron Hull so you can also find my stories that way. Warning: My shorter stories contain sex. If you like this story, contact me at wah.stories@yahoo.com. I strongly encourage it.

-Mason's perspective-

I hate school so much now. The only people who talk to me are Tyler, Megan, and Lily. Brennan sometimes comes over sometimes but it's kind of awkward when my little freshman cousin comes over to an all junior and senior table. I love that he still treats me like a human. The way Daniel looks at me in the hallway...it reminds me of the way Spencer looked when he was yelling at me.

"You should enter the talent show." Lily said to me. I was zoning in and out of the conversation and that was one of the few things I caught.

"Yeah. I can see it." Megan said. "Mason and the Sexy Sisters."

"What about me?" Tyler asked.

Lily looked at Tyler with a concerned look. "Sweetie, I think you're a part of the sisters." This made the two girls laugh. Tyler just rolled his eyes. That's how it normally goes now; the two of the girls ganging up on Tyler.

"I don't have any talents so you three can do something."

"Shut up!" Megan shouted. "I wasn't going to pull this card but I heard you singing to Spencer one night. Your voice is great."

I remembered that night. I can't remember what day it was, all I can remember is that is before we started dating. Spencer was crying because he couldn't help but think of Daniel and Kasey. I told him everything would be okay and he kept telling me it wasn't. I then just started to sing Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop by Landon Pigg. I had the song stuck in my head and I just had to get it out. Spencer listened as I sang to him. At the time I was hoping that he just thought I was randomly singing, but I meant every word of the song. When I finished, he thanked me and I swore I could hear him say I love you, but I ignored it and we got off the phone.

Just thinking about that made me smile. But the smile soon turned into a frown and a tear came from my eyes. I missed the days when Spencer and I could flirt and be a couple. He is just so...he really does complete me.

"I'm sorry." Megan grabbed my hand. "I didn't mean to bring him-"

"It's okay. It's just-"

"Look at that bitch holding that faggots hand. I guess wants a deadbeat baby daddy as well." This was Isabella. Her and her posse were behind us.

Megan got up, turned, and decked Isabella. She hit the floor and nearly bounced right back up. Megan punched her harder than she punched me when she found out what I did. I'm still surprised she forgave me.

"What was that?" Megan asked her as she kneeled down beside Isabella, who was holding the back of her head.

"What the fuck?!" Isabella shouted. "I'm fucking pregnant you bitch!"

Megan just shrugged. "From what I've heard you hit the bed harder than that when my slut of an ex-boyfriend fucked you." Megan then grabbed Isabella by the hair and slammed her head against the ground again. "And that one was for fucking my boyfriend." Megan stood up with a huge ass smile, came back to the table, and sat down.

Everyone surrounded Isabella to make sure she was okay. The best part of all of this was there were no teachers around.

"What were you saying?" Megan asked as if nothing had happened.

This caused Tyler and Lily to crack up.

"Did he say anything about me when you all hung out?" I asked Brennan, we were at my house. I wanted...no needed to know if Spencer said anything about me. I couldn't look him in the eyes anymore so I had no idea if he hated me or what.

"He still loves you." Brennan started off by saying. This made me sigh in relief. "He doesn't want to get back with you for now though. He's really upset about what you did."

"I know. I hate what I did too." I wanted to cry but I kept myself together. "You don't know how many times I wake up crying because I can't stop replaying those seconds when I saw Spencer's world crushed.

"I didn't want to be the person who told you this, but I don't think you'll have another chance with Spencer. I can tell he's still in love with Daniel and Daniel is still in love with him. Spencer and Kurt also might have something. The way the two acted...it was very strange. And then...well...I think I may love Spencer too..." I could tell Brennan was scared that I'd hate him.

"Spencer would be lucky to be with a guy like you." I said, trying to hold a smile while I died on the inside. It truly did know that Spencer had those three guys as options. There was no way he'd choose me over all of them. I mean...they really would treat him better than me.

"Thanks...I don't want you to hate me though. If you'd rather me back off I'm okay with that. I don't want us to ruin our friendship because of a guy."

"Don't worry. I kinda knew that Spencer and I would never be a thing again. I just didn't want to accept it. You can have him, Bren. You're the second best thing, after me of course."

Brennan smiled. "Thanks. If I am lucky enough to end up with him, I'll treat him right for you. Show him what the Glovers got." He winked and nudged me. I couldn't help but laugh.

"So, are you okay with Kasey dating Daniel?"

Brennan went from smiling to frowning. "No. I hate it. I know I should move on but Kasey was my first. He and I have never had like a huge arguement. For the longest of time I thought he'd be the one for me and that our constant on and off would be a thing of the past soon. I wish I would have gone to the halloween party with him. Maybe he and I would still be together."

I grabbed Brennan and pulled him in for a hug. I knew he was going to cry and I honestly needed a hug as well. "I know how you feel. Life just sucks. You and I will get over our heartache though. You'll either end up with Spencer or someone else who's great and I'm going to find love in the all the cats I'll adopt."

I could feel Brennan smile. "Why cats? You seem more like a dog person."

"Cats are more creepy so I have to go with them."

"Ah. That makes sense." Brennan wiggled his way out of my hug, which kinda saddened me. I definitely don't have any romantic feelings for Brennan, it's just I need someone to hold to help me forget about Spencer. "I gotta go. Mom and Dad didn't know I was coming home with you."

"You need me to take you home?" I asked him.

"If you wouldn't mind." Brennan didn't like asking me for things. He didn't want me to think of him as needy.

"I don't mind at all. Just gimme a sec."

-Spencer perspective-

"So as you can see, we really need a GSA here. What happened to Spencer is an abomination. I hear people insulting him and many other homosexual students here. If we don't do something about this now, someone may get hurt again." Lily explained to the principal. He sat there and listened to every word; I could tell he was truly interested in the topic.

"Please, sir." I was surprised that I was speaking up. "I don't want to be that kid who tries to guilt you into doing something with my sob story, but if it weren't for my friends, I probably wouldn't be here. It's hard being gay but being gay and having kids harass you for something you can't control...it's not easy to get through on your own. I want students to know that they're not alone and I want to try and get this school a zero-tolerance policy before I leave."

"I guess I'll let you all have the club." The principal said. Lily was beyond happy that her plan had worked. "But to be honest, if you had just came in here and told me you all wanted to start the club I would have let you all. I think we need to grow more tolerant as well. All I need now is a teacher who is willing to look over the club. Find one and this school will officially have a GSA. I hope you two have a great day."

Lily and I left the principal's office. Lily was more than ecstatic. "Oh my god! I can't believe it! I'm so happy!" She picked me up, she's only a little taller than me, and spun me around as she hugged me. "We need to find a teacher! Where are we going to find one of those?!" Lily then started to breathe heavily. She was definitely crazy.

"Mrs. Garrison would probably do it. She said if I ever need anything to just let her know."

"Mrs. Garrison?!" Lily somewhat shouted with happiness.

"Yes?" Mrs. Garrison was just leaving the nurse's office, which is right across the hall from the principal's office.

"Would you be willing to be in charge of GSA? Lily and I are trying to start the club and we need a teacher to direct it."

"I would love to, Spencer."

Lily started to cry tears of happiness as she hugged Mrs. Garrison. "Thank you so much! You don't know what this means to me! And Spencer too!"

Mrs. Garrison was a little shocked, but she patted Lily on the back and tried comforting her.

After I was able to separate Lily from Mrs. Garrison, we headed to the library to meet up with Megan. Neither Lily nor I could drive so we had to wait for Megan to finish tutoring.

Lily stopped me in the hallway and looked around to make sure no one was around. "You're probably wondering why I went crazy back there." Lily said as she returned back to normalness. "I had an older brother." I immediately realized she said had. I almost began to cry right then. "He was gay. He went here. One day when his best friend found out, he raped my brother. He then tried drowning him in one of the bathroom stalls before a janitor stopped him. When my brother got home he was crying. I was the only one home at the time and I was only six so I had no idea what was going on. He went up to his room and came back down about a half hour later, he was still crying. He hugged me, told me he loved me, and he left. That was the last time I saw him. He went upstairs to write Mom and Dad a note. He told them what had happened, why it happened, and what he was going to do. He drove his car over a cliff. The paramedics said he died instantly. I felt like it was my fault for so long because I was there and I could have stopped him." Lily began to cry. I could tell she still felt responsible. "I want to make sure no one else does what he did because of something they can't control. I owe it to him to help people since I never helped him."

"Don't blame yourself, Lily." I grabbed her and hugged her. "You were too young to know what was going on. And it's not like you wouldn't have helped him if you knew what was going on. I know your brother doesn't want you blaming yourself either so please stay strong. Keep your promise to help others and don't let your brother's death be in vain."

"Thank you, Spencer. I don't like talking about it. But I guess I'm going to have to every now and then. I need to tell people my story so they know I'll truly be there for them."

We finally made it to the library and we saw Megan helping some kid who looked like he was still strung out on some good shit.

"You know Mason still loves you, right?"

I felt a twinge of pain. "Yeah."

"I'm not saying to go running back into his arms, but he didn't mean any harm by what he did. I hate seeing him the way he is. I can also see that you haven't been that well either. If you can, please try talking to him. At least become friends again."

"I'll try. It's going to be hard though. I mean...I do love him too, but it's just...I don't think I'll ever forget that he knew. I want to kiss him but at the same time I want to vomit at the thought because he knew. It's just...I don't know what I want anymore."

"Well you'll find out sooner or later. And I know if things don't work out with him, you have someone else who could be the man of your dreams." She then nodded over to the table where Daniel was sitting at by himself. He was reading some sort of book.

"Why do I have to have two great guys in my life and have both of them completely ruin me?"

"Because you're adorable and because you're strong and you can take it."

"I can't take it. I'm falling apart at the seams."

Lily picked up my arm, looked under it. She then picked up my other arm and examined it as well. "I don't know what you're talking about." I couldn't help but roll my eyes and smile. She then grabbed me by the hand. "Come on, I wanna talk to bachelor number two."

"What?! No! Please?"

Any sort of fight I put up wasn't good enough. Lily dragged me all the way over to Daniel's table and made me sit down next to her and across from him. She then stuck her hand out. "Hi. I'm Lily."

"Daniel?" Daniel was obviously confused. He looked at me and I could see the fear in his eyes as well. We both knew if Kurt walked in, he'd be dead. The two were barely on talking terms now.

-Mason's perspective-

After dropping Brennan off, I stopped by a nearby diner. The waitress was really cute and hit on my a couple times. I decided that now was better than never. I knew things with Spencer would never get better. I wouldn't forgive myself if I were him.

"So, what's your name?" She asked me when she handed me my plate of bacon and eggs. I liked having breakfast in the afternoon.

"Mason."

"As in Mason Glover?!" She seemed pretty shocked.

"Yeah?"

"Sorry. It's just...the rumors at my school. You are definitely not the kind of guy I should be flirting with." I could detect a hint of seriousness and also a hint of flirting.

"The thing about me being a father is a lie, I've never been with a girl. And then to clarify things, I'm bi, so I do like guys, but I am also fond of girls."

"Well that's good. I was going to say I don't know many gay guys who are also biological father. By the way, my name is Chelsie."

Chelsie was definitely cute. She has dirty blonde, shoulder length hair. Her eyes are a nice chocolate brown. Her body is pretty nice. I normally don't pay attention to that but she has some good curves and a nice pair of breasts. She's also around 5'7, which is like the ideal height for a girl in my opinion. "Chelsie...I don't think I've dated a Chelsie." I said with a smile. Since the break up, this was the first time I actually felt good.

"Oh really? So I'd be your first? If we dated." I could hear the sexual undertone in her voice. It drove me crazy.

"Yeah. You would." I said back, trying to hide my excitement.

"Neat." She then turned and went to go talk to another customer. She knew exactly how to make me want her.

When she finally came back, I had finished my food. "You ready for your check? Or do you think you want a little more?" Again, I could hear the sexuall undertone.

I decided to play a little game myself. "I'm done. I got everything I wanted."

This seemed to shock her. "Oh really?"

"Yeah...really."

She seemed kinda upset. "Well then, let me get the check." When she came back, she slid the check to me. I examined it for a minute and she just looked at me like I was stupid. "What is it?" This time she had a pissed off tone.

"There's something wrong with this." I handed it back to her.

She scanned it quickly and put it back out. "There is nothing wrong with it. Maybe there is something wrong with you."

I couldn't help but smile."No, there really is. For some reason your number isn't on there."

She looked up with me with shock, she then smiled and wrote something down on the check. "You're pretty sly. I have to give that to you." She then handed it back to me.

I stood up and looked at the check. At the bottom was her name and number; Chelsie Harris. I reached into my wallet, got out the money, and gave her the money, with a decent sized tip I may add. "I guess I'll see you around?"

"Maybe. Depends on how many other guys I squeeze tips out of." She smiled and pocketed the money.

"Either way, it was really nice meeting you."

"Same." She then returned to work.

I couldn't believe that I had her number. Just an hour ago I was crying over Spencer and now I had a girl's number. I hope things are going good for Spencer. He truly does deserve a lot better than me. What I did to Spencer is unforgivable.

"How's you do it? Did you play the love-sick good boy thing? I honestly can't imagine you actually flirting with someone in the condition you're in." Tyler came over to my house the second I had texted him and told him that I had gotten a girl's number.

"I actually did flirt with her. And dude, she is really good looking. I'm just hoping her personality matches."

"Are you sure you're not fully gay? I mean, all the straight guys I know don't care how nice she is. Hell, even straight Mason didn't give a shit about the way she acted."

I rolled my eyes. "We're going out tonight."

"Where? We should make it a double date. You know, let me and Lily tag along."

"It's going to be a one-on-one date. I don't want any tag alongs this time around. Maybe if it goes great I'll let her meet you all. And please, don't say anything to Megan for now. I want to be the one who tells her I have a date. I know she's still mad about what I did to Spencer but she would never forgive me if she thought I had moved on from him in a week."

"Damn dude...that is quick. Are you sure you're ready?"

"We're not dating. Right now we're just friends. I'm going to make that perfectly clear with her tonight. She said she'd heard rumors about me so maybe she knows I went through a break up recently."

"Well if she doesn't understand then you can do better than her. How great can a high schooler who works at a diner be?"

"Shut up. I actually do like her you know. I'm just not sure how much I like her. There was definite chemistry while we had our very brief conversation."

Tyler got up off my bed and crossed the room to the chair I was sitting in. He leaned down, placing his hands on my thighs and his forehead against mine. "I just want you to be careful, okay? You're my best friend and you mean so much to me. Believe it or not I still do have some slight feelings for you. It'd kill me if you got hurt again. You have no idea how bad I've felt because I know there is nothing I can do to help you."

I just gulped. I didn't know what to do. At the same time I wanted to lean in and kiss him but I also didn't want to kiss him. He eventually pulled away and plopped down on my bed. It was weird because Tyler has these moments where he's a laid back guy who is fun to chill with but then he suddenly changes into this very sweet and loving guy who you just can't stay away from.

"You should still tell me where you're taking her though. That's one of the most important parts of a date."

I sighed. "It's not a date!"

"It's nice seeing you again." Chelsie said as she appeared at the front door of the restaurant I had chosen. The place was pretty expensive and very classy so the two of us were pretty dressed up. I in a red dress shirt with a tie and khakis and her in a nice and short red dress, people probably thought we color-coordinated.

"It's nice seeing you too." We did the awkward first hug thing and then proceeded into the restaurant. We were immediately seated by a waiter, who seemed to know the two of us even though we both had no idea who he was. He smiled as he took our drink and appetizer orders.

"Do you know who he is?" She asked me.

"No idea."

"Oh..." She seemed scared. This was the first time I saw her with her confidence down.

"What is it?"

"Then I guess he knows who I am..."

"What's so bad about that?" I was confused. Was she trying to hide something from me?

"It's just...I don't have a good reputation. Back during freshman year I kinda slept around with a lot of guys so I was branded as a whore. When sophomore year came around I began to straighten up, finally realizing that what I had been doing was wrong. I also realized that my `friends' were the guys I would sleep with the most. When I told them I was done with that, they started spreading rumors, telling everyone I gave them the clap and other shit. The whole year I was basically harassed and called a slut by everyone. There was even an instance where a teacher called me a filthy whore and accused me of having sex in the restrooms because I was a couple minutes late. This year it's gotten a lot better but people still think of me as a whore."

I was shocked by all of this. Of course she had flirted with me and some of the things she had said were a little sexual, but I couldn't see her as someone who would sleep around. What shocked me the most though was that she was telling me this first thing.

"Sorry if that seems like a lot. I just...I thought you'd understand since you're going through some shit at your school." She then began to get up. "I'll just go."

"No!" I shouted. People looked over at us. She sat back down. "I do understand. I'm just...you gotta give me a couple seconds for the initial shock to fade. And just to let you know, I don't look at you any different from before."

She smiled. "Thanks. And now that that's out of the way I guess we can have a fun night."

"Maybe."

The waiter then brought us our drinks. He smiled at me and winked. I glared right back at him. He quickly scurried away after that. Chelsie smiled.

"I promise that I had no idea about you." I told her as I took a drink. "This isn't just some master scheme to wine and dine you then take you back to my place. I don't think mom would be too happy with that even if I did try."

She giggled. "I could tell you had no idea who I was when I told you my name. All the guys who do know me immediately ask me if I want to go have sex in their car."

"If only I had known." Chelsie rolled her eyes, but she had a smile on her face so I knew she wasn't upset or anything. "And since you got that off your back, I want to tell you something to."

She looked at me intently, obviously interested in what I was about to say. "What is it?"

"I know this may seem like a date, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to date right now because I just went through a pretty bad break-up. I just wanted to go somewhere where I knew no one would call me out as a fag or a horrible father. I hope that's okay with you."

"It is. I'm just happy that I get to be out and about with none other than THE Mason Glover. You don't even go to my school and you've been a very hot topic recently."

"Well that's great. Maybe I'll be on the news soon."

"I know I'm the one who started this topic, but can we please move on to something else? I don't want us to talk about how much our lives suck."

"Sure. What's your favorite type of food."

"It's definitely italian. Those guys know how to cook."

"I know! I can't get enough of real italian food. It's better than the fattening stuff most americans want."

"Well maybe next time we can go to an authentic italian place."

"I'm shocked you think there will be a next time." I couldn't help but laugh as she smiled and shook her head no at my joke. Maybe something good could come out of this actually.

Every time I read a story of Nifty, I never read the top part, so just in case you are like me and only read the bottom portion if you liked the story, here is my email again: wah.stories@yahoo.com.
