I've gotten a lot of replies from everyone, so thanks for the support. I'll try to continue to post chapters fairly frequently. I don't have a lot of time to work on all of this, though. Also another story idea under development is taking up some of my time. Anyway, on to the story!

Chapter 3- Really?
Wyatt's piercing blue eyes focus on me, but his features remain soft.
"James", he starts, "Are you gay? As in, you like guys I mean".
I open my mouth, but no sound comes out, no matter how hard I try. I feel like I can't breathe; I have to get away from here, NOW! I jump out from under the slide and make a run for it. I know he won't want to hang out with me if he knows the truth. A distraught but determined Wyatt shadows me. I run all the way down the street, almost a mile before I stop. I collapse with my back against the wall of a little white building and my knees up to my chest. Here he comes!
Wyatt walks up to my side, sinks down and sits beside me. I'm sobbing now, so he wraps his arms around me.
"Shh", he whispers. "Everything's okay".
"B-but wh-what about me being, you know", I say shakily.
"Gay?", he asks, eyes wide. "I don't give a damn. I am, too".
"Really!?".
"Whoa, good job concealing your excitement", he says, sarcastically. "Come on, buddy, let's go back to the park".
Wyatt leans down and kisses me beneath the curls spilling over my forehead.
"I love blue hair", he whispers in my ear, almost giggling.
We walk back to the park, his arm around my shoulder, my arm around his waist. We go back to the little room under the slide, and I'm finally calm now. I pull out a pack of Newports and hand one to Wyatt and light one up for myself. My nerves still feel shot, but I'm okay now. Okay enough to ask Wyatt exactly what's on my mind.
"Umm, since you told me you're gay, and I told you I'm gay, does that mean that maybe we could be more than just friends?", I ask.
"Do you mean boyfriend and boyfriend?", Wyatt asks.
"Well, yeah. I was sort of hoping for it ever since I first saw you. There was just something about you that made my heart skip a beat. There aren't any words for what what I felt for you except for love at first site.
I saw you on the first day of school, and all I could think about later was you. I've never felt that way about anyone else, ever. So, would you want to be my boyfriend?"
Wyatt looks at me and I could swear I could see a tear. He takes my chin, raises it up so my face faces his.
"Of course". Wyatt kisses me tenderly, gently on the lips, caressing my mouth with his. The kiss breaks.
I look up at him, smile, and say,"Really?"
I know, I know, really short chapter, but the next one will be way longer. I just had to get the relationship established, so now comes the fun part. Once again, please e-mail comments and suggestions. If you can come up with an interesting plot twist, I might work it into the story as long as it doesn't force me to deviate too far from the original plot.
