A Promise Well Kept 12
Tyler:
"Daddy!" Keegan shouted. He ran from down the hall straight into my open arms. I picked him up and squeezed him tight. Tears escaped from not only my eyes, but the people around us. Jared joined our little hug.
"We missed you so much, buddy." I cried.
"A day without you Keegan is like a day without being able to eat or drink." Jared said emotionally. We three continued to hug and hold each other, but I soon realized there were other people who I'm sure wanted to hug him.
My mom and Debbie both did the same as Jared and I had, but they waited their turns. Travers was after them. He was crying to himself, but when Keegan latched onto him I heard him say in the softest whisper, "I love you, Keegan, and I am so sorry."
Austin asked to talk to Jared and myself. We followed him into an interview room and took our seats.
"When we picked Keegan up he was just sitting in a locked room. There was one window, but it had bars on it. There was literally nothing else in the house." Austin explained. He seemed very uneasy about something.
"Austin, we are so grateful to you for doing all of this. Even though Keegan was only gone a day I feel like he was gone for a year." I said, tears still flowing from my eyes.
"It was my pleasure. I was happy to see the little guy safe and okay." he said.
Jared leaned farther in and asked, "Do you know who kidnapped him?" I sensed a touch of revenge in his voice.
"Um, well, that is something that Keegan did tell us. Now, this could be a coincidence or it could not be, but you guys are guying to shit when I tell you." Austin said.
I leaned in closer just as Jared had. I was desperate and anxious to know who had done all of this to my family. They've done a number. I have yet-and will never-forget about what they did to our home. To Travers. To Keegan.
Austin stood up for a moment, sighing with obvious discomfort. "You guys, I need you to promise you won't do anything stupid when I tell you. What's best right now is to let the police handle things and just take care of your family. Agreed?"
"Agreed." Jared and I both said.
"I questioned Keegan a little bit about who took him, what they did to him, things like that. He knew every question and seemed to answer them with almost perfect dialogue." Austin took a deep breath. "The kidnappers as Keegan told me are Julie Turner and Andrew Stevens."
As soon as Austin even pronounced J, I hit the roof. I could not believe what he had said. I stared at him with disbelief, shock. Jared didn't do much better.
"Are you saying that Andrew raped Travers? And they both kidnapped Keegan? They are the damn note writers?!" Jared bellowed.
"Jared, please," Austin said. "Yes, that is exactly what I am saying."
"Oh, my God." I sighed. When I thought my tears couldn't get any more frequent, they did.
"Austin, are...are you sure?" Jared asked incredulously.
"The DNA tests were unclear for some reason, but Keegan told me that they called each other Julie and Andrew."
"Andrew! That son of a bitch was at our house weeks ago! He delivered that pizza we didn't order, Jared. I knew he looked familiar!" I said heatedly.
"He what?" Austin asked.
"He delivered a pizza saying it was ordered to our house. I paid him and took the pizza, but we didn't eat it. Of course, Mr. Insatiable here tried to." I nodded towards Jared. He just grinned shyly.
"Hmm," Austin chimed.
After some further questioning and examination, Keegan was allowed to come home with us. Since this was a celebratory kind of night I figured we'd all go out to Clementine's for pizza. Zac and Tommy tried to decline the offer, but I declined their decline.
Once everyone finished dinner, I drove everyone home. Zac and Tommy said that they had to be on their way. They left after everyone thanked them for their help once more.
Keegan and Travers played video games the rest of the night. When it came time for bed, I asked Keegan if he'd like to sleep with us. He readily agreed and then practically flew into my room. I told him that I was taking the rest of the week off of work to be with him. I have so many phone calls to make tomorrow I should be swamped all the way through lunch.
Several days later...
"Thank you all for your kind words about Keegan. Hopefully luck will be on my side from now on and I will be able to stay in the classroom to teach you all what I love." I said to my first period.
All of my classes were basically like that. I thanked everyone for their kind words then continued on with my lesson plan. Travers met me after school immediately for a change. We picked Keegan up and then headed home. Debbie had already started dinner for us which I found incredibly generous. She's a very smashing cook and can almost compete with me...
"Travers, will you come swimming with me?" Keegan asked his brother.
"Sure, let's go change real quick." Travers said. He took Keegan upstairs to change.
"Honey, I'm home!" Jared laughed.
"Zanders let you go?" I asked him.
He kissed me then his mom. "Yeah, he said he could handle it."
"Tyler, can you take the chicken out of the oven?" Debbie asked me. "I invited your mom and dad over for dinner. Austin and Monica are also coming over. Oh, and I invited Tommy and Zac."
I laughed. "Wow, planning a little event are we?"
Jared sat at the island with a glass of water, sipping and listening. I was surprised to say the least that Debbie invited all these people to our house without mine or Jared's knowledge. I guess it doesn't matter though because I feel I still owe Zac for what he did for us.
"Well, I just thought that it'd be nice to have company over tonight. Maybe it will liven things up again." Debbie said.
"Good point, mom. We could use a mood booster anymore." Jared said.
I just stared at the two of them. I hadn't been aware that there was a sorrow mood in the household. Keegan was home safe. Sure, Travers was still a delinquent, but to even that out Jared and I are perfect. The Volvo is back at its dealership and I purchased a brand new Murano. With the money left over, well, after what I gave to Zac and Tommy there really wasn't any money left over. Far from the point though.
The guests started to arrive a half an hour later. Austin and Monica first followed by Zac and Tommy and then my parents. Travers and Keegan came back up from swimming and we all started to eat the feast that Debbie had prepared. There were mashed potatoes and gravy, peas, rolls, red hot Jell-O, and stuffed chicken breasts. I had no idea Debbie was such a wonderful cook. For dessert she made two simple cheesecakes.
"I have an announcement to make." Austin said, standing up from the table. "Monica informed me a few days ago that we have unexpected, but enjoyable, company coming our way in approximately nine months."
It took a second for everyone to register what he said, but once we all did congratulations were said to them.
"To Austin and Monica's son or daughter!" I raised my wine glass and said. The clinging of glasses then filled the room.
Two more hours passed before our company began to depart. Zac and Tommy were the last ones to leave, but Jared had asked if he could talk to them in private. This aroused my curiosity. Debbie, however, must've known what Jared was doing because as he took them into the office, she kept me near the sink.

Jared:
"Guys, I have a major favor to ask you." I said to Zac and Tommy after closing the office door.
"Name it, Mr. Young." Zac spoke.
"Well, Tyler's birthday is on Thursday and I have planned a romantic weekend for the two of us. My mom is going up north to visit some old friends and Tyler's parents are leaving tomorrow for their yearly vacation." I began to explain. They both looked at me with perked interest as to what I was getting to. "To put it bluntly, I need babysitters."
"You want us to babysit the boys?" Tommy asked.
"Yes," I replied. "I'll pay you for the entire weekend."
"I don't know, Mr. Young. We're both only eighteen still. Are you sure you'd want us to babysit?" Zac said.
"I feel completely confident that you boys would do a fantastic job watching my boys. Keegan is a cinch to watch anyways. And Travers is old enough to basically take care of himself. I just need you two boys to keep an eye on things."
They looked at each other with uncertainty. Believe me, I know that what I just threw on them was a lot, but I wouldn't have asked if I didn't really need them.
"We'll do it, Mr. Young." Tommy said.
I sighed heavily in relief. "Thank you both so much!" I said as I hugged them. "I'll give you more details later. I'm sure Tyler is having a heart attack as to what I'm telling you."
True enough, Tyler was walking towards us as we were exiting the office. He had that "what's going on?" kind of look. I just smiled at him then walked the boys out.
Before I went to bed I made sure to tell Travers and Keegan about my plans. Keegan was thrilled to be able to hang out with Zac and Tommy all weekend. Travers on the other hand was negative about it as usual.

The next day was like any other for me. While at work I continued to think about things I could do for Tyler when we go out this weekend. I know for a fact that my hotel reservations are intact. But I'm stuck on what to do for him. Maybe we'll just stay in the hotel all weekend and have a romantic sort of time. Ooh, I can book us some massages and spa treatments. Yeah, just the two of us for his romantic weekend birthday.
After my lunch hour I called the hotel and began to make appointments. This weekend will be the best we've had in a long, long time and I'm going to do my damndest to make sure it stays that way.

Tyler:
"Jared has something planned for us this weekend, but I have no idea what it is." I said to Mr. Danforth.
"Well, your birthday is only two days away. You have to know it has something to do with that, right?" he said, taking another bite of his sandwich.
"I guess," I sighed. "Whatever he has planned I sure hope it doesn't involve me having to leave Keegan. He's starting to calm down more and more, but he does not like to be away from us at all. He's been sleeping with us ever since he returned home. Whenever we even step out back Keegan is glued to our hips."
"Seems normal,"
"Oh, I know, but I don't know how he'll do if Jared has out-of-town plans for us."
"That would depend on who would be babysitting them though." Mr. Danforth said. "I know for a fact that if Jared gets family to babysit then Keegan will be all right."
"Problem with that," I said. "Debbie and my parents are going out of town. Hell, my parents are all ready on a plane to London. He might ask Austin and Monica, but they work on the weekends."
"Well, maybe he isn't planning anything extravagant." Mr. Danforth suggested.
"I kind of hope not. I don't want him to think that he still has to try and impress me. I mean I'd be happy with just a quiet evening in."
"That could-" He was cut off by my phone ringing.
"Mr. Delfino," I answered.
"Hey, Tyler, it's Gary. We have a small situation with Travers here in the office. Would you mind coming down?"
"Oh, God." I groaned. I hung up the phone and looked at Mr. Danforth. "I have to go up to the office. Travers is in some sort of trouble I think." I walked out of my room into the harsh sunlight.
Lunch time was in full swing which meant 2700 students were enjoying their free time. The freshman had their own lunch before the upperclassmen to try and reduce fights. This, however, was always stupid in my mind. After all, it's the upperclassmen that usually start things. If you ask me I think it should be freshman and juniors and then sophomores and seniors for lunch. That to me would seem a much better way to separate the classes and reduce traffic as well as arguable situations.
I walked into the office and suddenly smelt what I was there for. Gary walked out of one of the hallways and called me over.
"Officer Charles found him behind the J-Wing smoking marijuana." Gary said while walking. "He's waiting in my office."
I followed Gary to his office in a different section of the administration building. I've taken this walk before so I know all too well where it is. But the fact that I have to walk this way to bail my son out of possible suspension is pathetic. The closer I got to his office the stronger the marijuana smell became. One more corner rounded I saw Travers sitting in a chair staring at the ceiling. I walked in Gary's office then sat next to my son. Gary shut his door then took a seat behind his desk.
"So, would you care to explain what happened, Travers?" Gary asked him.
"I smoked some pot. No biggie, dude." Travers grinned.
"Tyler, I'm sorry to have to do this, but I'm going to have to suspend him for five days." Gary stated.
I rubbed my temple in frustration. "I understand." That one letter and one word were the only two things that I could even think of. I was so disappointed in Travers.
"Are there any questions?"
"No, no, I'm good." I said.

Jared:
"Baby, I'm going to take you out to dinner tomorrow night." I said to Tyler. He was making up some pasta for the boys.
"Hmm, I can't wait, Jared." he smiled.
"I'm going out." Travers stated. Before we could ask any questions he walked away to the front door.
When Tyler told me yesterday about Travers's suspension I nearly blew up. I was pissed off, but I managed to keep it all inside. Getting angry at an angry child could make things worse. I'm starting to think that Travers is beginning to change his ways. He's becoming nicer to Keegan, showing a little bit more respect to Tyler and myself, and instead of just sneaking out he just told us he was leaving.
Eight o'clock hit and still Travers hadn't come home. He knew that when he was out his curfew was eight during the week unless otherwise told. At nine Tyler began to worry.
"Why hasn't he even called? What if he's on the streets somewhere being raped?" Tyler worriedly ranted.
"Hon, you can't rape the willing." I said, not taking my eyes away from a medical book.
"That was not funny, Jared."
"Tyler, it's Travers we're talking about. He hasn't had consideration for our wishes for quite some time. I'm sure he's fine. He's probably just busy getting stoned."
He continued to pace around the living room until the front door opened. Travers stumbled in with a high grin on his face.
"Where the hell have you been? Do you realize it's after nine?" Tyler shouted at him.
"Tyler, this won't help. Besides, he's stoned. He probably doesn't even realize he's a disappointment to us." I sourly said towards Travers. His facial expression changed and I could tell I hurt him.

The next morning I woke up and began to cook breakfast. This is the first time I've cooked for everyone like this in quite some time. The occasion for my cooking? Tyler's birthday of course.
"Morning," Tyler yawned.
I jumped. "Babe, what are you doing up?"
He chuckled. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you, but what are you doing home? Shouldn't you be at work?"
"Um, actually, Zanders said that I could take the day off as it's for a special occasion." I said, flipping some eggs over.
"Aww, you didn't have to take the day off for me." Tyler cooed. He poured himself some coffee then leaned against the island.
"Tyler, I'd take every day off for you if I could." I said. I turned away from the eggs and walked towards him.
"You are too sweet." he smiled.
I leaned into him and placed my lips on his. We shared a passionate kiss that was beginning to get heavier. He ran his hands up my stomach and to my chest, rubbing in circle.
"Mmm," Tyler moaned as I squeezed his very hard member. "We should have sex." I began to massage him through his pants. Tyler was squirming underneath me. I increased my hand speed causing Tyler to writhe with pleasure. His breathing turned deeper and longer signaling his climax was near. I stopped my motions then gave him a quick kiss before turning back to my eggs. "Uh?"
I laughed on the inside. "Saturday is when you'll get your sex."
"W-why Saturday?" He was completely out of breath.
"Because I said so," I firmly stated. "Now, go get ready for school."
Half an hour later, Tyler came back into the kitchen with Keegan in his arms. My boys were all dressed up and ready to go. I made Keegan a plate and served him in the nook in the corner of the kitchen. Tyler on the other hand got a more special breakfast plate. I pulled it out of the oven and placed it in front of him at the nook.
"Happy birthday!" Keegan and I shouted. I kissed him on the cheek then sat on his lap.
"Wow," Tyler laughed. "What a breakfast you cooked, Jared."
"You like it?"
"How could I not love the candles in my hash browns?"
"Don't make fun of me!" I pouted.
Travers stumbled out of his room and grabbed a plate that I had prepared for him. Instead of eating with us and celebrating Tyler's birthday, he took his plate and a cup of orange juice and then went back in his room.
"Well, go brush your teeth then we'll go to school." Tyler said to Keegan after they finished eating. Keegan ran upstairs and did as he was told. "Thank you for breakfast, baby, I really appreciate it."
I kissed him with forceful passion. "You're quite welcome."
