Pure Lights Chapter 2- Pure Light Training
Dean started to wake up, hearing two female voices that seemed very familiar to him. He opened his eyes to see who it was. He saw Myra explaining more about the pure lights, and why they exist to Crystal. Dean started coughing and both ladies looked at Dean. To see if he was doing okay, Crystal went and put her arms around his neck. "I'm so glad that you're doing okay." Crystal started to whimper just a little.
"You had us all scared there Dean. You even scared Matthew, which is something that I have never seen with him my entire angel life." Myra sat down beside Dean.
"What happened? I can't remember a thing from when that dark light came and was about to strike Matthew." Dean rubbed his head.
"From what Matthew had told us, you had somehow called on the other two pure light powers. You sent something at the dark light that vanquished him. After that you collapsed." Myra explained what had happened last night.
"I did what?" Dean was in total shock.
"You possessed and called for the other two light powers. I think that they call it a triple pure light. I just heard about it when we got here on the island. I didn't think that it was possible for any pure light to have the combination of all three. But I guess you proved that wrong to me." Myra laughed and tried to comfort Dean.
"Where's Matt?" Dean asked.
"He said that he had to speak with another angel named Nathaniel. He said he wouldn't be too long." Crystal explained.
The door opened and all three of them focused their attention at a male with long black hair. Matthew soon followed behind. "Crystal, Myra this is Nathaniel." Matthew introduced the black haired male.
Matthew then looked over at Dean to notice that he had awakened. A look of relief came upon Mathew's face when he saw that Dean was all right. "I take it then this is Dean, the new triple pure light?" Nathaniel asked.
"That would be me, it's nice to meet you." Dean extended his hand to Nathaniel.
Nathaniel shook Dean's hand. When Nathaniel held his hand, Dean heard Nathaniel's voice in his head. "You are strong there pure light, to come out of the situation that you were in. What triggered the rest of the lights to surface? You don't mind if I look inside your mind for the memories do you?" Nathaniel asked for permission.
"Not at all, I'm curious myself to know what happened." Dean sent back.
Nathaniel started probing Dean's memories of last night. The memories flashed inside this mind as if he was reliving them, but he didn't feel any pain. Then just as the dark light was about to kill Matthew, memories that he didn't remember appeared. Dean saw that his eyes became full of light and that he was embodied in light. Dean saw that he had sent something at the dark light. He heard the dark light scream as death took over. "I see now what triggered them, pure light. You're thoughts right before the other lights appeared is what triggered them." Nathaniel reported the findings.
Dean suddenly remembered what he was thinking perfectly clear. "I didn't want to see him die before my eyes. He had saved my life from those darkies the night before and I wanted to repay him for that." Dean sent his message to Nathaniel.
"It's more then that pure light, deep in your heart you love this angel, even if you just met him, and that love had shown within your heart. Your soul wanted to protect him from any harm. Your mind wanted to reach out to him with comfort. That's why you were able to summon the other lights. But I will not tell anyone of your feelings towards him. You have to find out for yourself if you truly love him." Nathaniel finished his message.
Nathaniel got up, and looked at Matthew. "He gave me permission to probe his memory of last night. He was meant to be a triple pure light all along. It was just that the other powers where still dormant. It took that event to awaken them within him. You are very lucky to have him as your pure light brother Matthew." Nathaniel put his hand on Matthew's shoulder.
"I am very lucky to have him as a pure light." Matthew replied back.
"Matthew can I see you out in the hall?" Nathaniel asked.
"Sure. I'll be right back guys, keep an eye on him." Matthew asked the two ladies.
When the door closed, Crystal looked at Dean, "So you were meant to be a triple pure light. That almost explains everything."
Out in the hall Nathaniel communicated mentally to Matthew. "I feel something in you Matthew. Something stirs within you, since last night."
Matthew was a little unprepared for what message he had received. "To tell you the truth Nathaniel, I'm starting to have feelings for my pure light. I did a lot of thinking on the trip here." Matthew went back to Nathaniel.
"He saved your life, just as you saved his. He was very grateful for that and wanted to repay you." Nathaniel added, "But I must go and fill out this in a report. Take care of him Matthew, for you'll need each other in the end."
Matthew went back into his and Dean's room. The room went quiet for a moment. "What's with all the silence?" Matthew asked, "Can I ask you to lovely ladies to leave me and Dean alone so him and I can talk?"
Crystal was about to rebel when Myra sent a message in her head. Crystal hugged Dean one more time. "I'll see ya at training okay."
Dean nodded his head yes. The two left and Matthew sat at the end of the bed. Dean then looked at him and saw tears form in his eyes. "Dean," Matthew paused, "I want to tell ya something. I want to thank you for saving my life from that dark light last night."
Dean felt compelled to comfort him. He moved over to Matthew, taking Matthew and leaning him against his body. Matthew put his arms around Dean, letting his tears fall. The light from Dean's heart glowed between them and let out a warm glow, calming Matthew down. Matthew then sensed Dean's love for him from the glow. Matthew sat straight up and looked at Dean. Both looked at each other and moved their heads towards each other. Their lips locked, causing all three lights to shine warmly. This time his eyes didn't fill with light. "This is why the other two powers surfaced. Nathaniel told me it was my heart that loved you, my soul that wanted to protect you from harm, and my mind that wanted to comfort you. It was because of you that all three lights surfaced." Dean admitted.
Matthew just looked at him. "On the way here I started to think. My own emotions for you grew even stronger then my guardian instincts of protecting you. I couldn't quite place it. But after seeing you glowing with radiance, I felt something for you before you collapsed. I was so confused I didn't know what to say." Matthew admitted.
"Well now that we know we care for one another, what next?" Dean asked as he stroked his hands over Matthew's left arm.
"Take things one step at a time. We just can't jump into something, even if it is our destiny. I want to get to know you better. My heart tells me that. We just met and things are going so fast, we both need to take time and relax and really think about things first." Matthew replied.
"You're right, take things slow. I really don't know anything about you, and vice versa." Dean thought about how old Matthew was, "Just exactly how old are you?"
Matthew turned crimson, "Don't freak out on me but I'm 1126 years old."
"Damn! I wouldn't of even guessed, cause you don't look more then 25, or 26!" Dean was astonished.
With Dean's remark Matthew glowed a little more red. "Well would you like to see some of the sights here?" Matthew asked as he patted Dean's leg.
"Doesn't sound like a bad idea, besides it would do me some good, so I'm not thinking about what happened last night." Dean stood up and waited for Matthew.
Matthew stood up and grabbed Dean's hand. Both squeezed each other's hands and left their room. The first place they went was to the temple of light. The scenery while walking there just mystified Dean. Dean thought it looked like a paradise. Matthew just smiled seeing Dean's facial expressions.
"So, angel, do you have any questions for me?" Dean asked. Matthew looked ahead. "Are you for real?" Matthew asked.
A confused look came over Dean's face. Dean then pinched Matthew's side. "Hey, that hurt." Matthew said in pain.
"Does that answer your question?" Dean was being a smartass and smiled.
"Yeah but it still hurt you know." Matthew was rubbing his side where Dean had pinched him.
"Here's a question for you. How are you dealing with this life change so far?" Matthew asked.
This made Dean think a little. "I'm dealing with it as best as I can. Now that you're in my life things couldn't get much worse. At least I have one person who I didn't have to leave behind and who will go through this with me." Dean looked at the trail that they were walking on to get to the temple.
"What do you think of me then Matthew? Be honest." Dean threw a fast one at Matthew.
Matthew didn't have to think much about this one, "The other night when you were cuddled up to me I felt your heart. I sensed courage, compassion, and loyalty to the people around you. It's something that I've never felt before and it made me want to experience more."
Dean started to blush. "Is that all?"
"Oh and this." Matthew swiftly pulled Dean's head towards his and kissed him on the lips, "How was that?"
Dean was caught off guard for a moment. "That was good, for an amateur." Dean giggled.
"Would you two just get a room!" They heard Crystal's voice behind them.
"Have you been eavesdropping all this time?" Dean looked back at her.
"Yes, we have!" She replied back.
"We?" Matthew just saw Crystal.
Myra came out of her hiding spot and looked ashamed. "Myra? You snooping? This is a first." Matthew laughed.
"Well, are you guy's lovers or not?" Crystal asked.
"We're just...Hey! Why is it your business to know what we are?" Dean was about to tell them, and then he thought it was a little rude that she'd butt into their business.
"Cause I'm your friend and friends tell things like this." Crystal replied.
"Yeah when the other person isn't around. That room does sound good about now." Dean started to get a little steamed.
Matthew sent a message to Dean. "If that's what you want is privacy hold on tight, cause we're flying to the temple."
Matthew spread his wings and picked Dean up and carried him off to the temple. "Hey! Come back here!" Crystal was upset.
"It may be best if we leave them alone. How would you like it if someone rudely interrupted your privacy?" Myra pointed out.
"I'm sorry Myra, you're right. It's just that Dean is the only one that I know of that I didn't have to leave behind." Crystal started to cry.
Crystal leaned against Myra's chest. Myra put her arms around her and combed her fingers through Crystal's hair, trying to calm her down. "I know that it must be hard for you. Both you and Dean, but things will get better, trust me. Cry good tonight, cause you'll need your wits about you when you start training tomorrow."
Crystal wiped her tears away, "You're right. I need to stand strong, cause after all I'm a pure light." She put a smile on her face.
"That's the spirit, don't lose that. It's a part of you. There will be time to talk to Dean about things, just like I'll have time to talk to Matthew, and then we can gossip to each other about it okay?" Myra put a smile on as well.
"Agreed." Crystal shook Myra's hand.
At the temple, Matthew put Dean down. Matthew then joined him. "This place is amazing." Dean commented as he looked at the Temple.
"It has been here for ages; surprisingly it hasn't lost its shape one bit." Matthew spoke.
"You're telling me." Another voice said.
Dean looked to his right and saw a short tan, strawberry blond male. He was about six-foot tall, with an average body build. "Oh sorry for interrupting. My name is Zach. This is my angel David." Zach introduced himself to the two.
"Hello." David nodded his head.
"Hi, I'm Dean, and this is my angel Matthew." Dean introduced him and Matthew.
David was a slender angel, and had a little less muscle then what Matthew had. He had dark blue eyes and wavy black hair that went past his shoulders.
"What pure light are you? I'm a soul pure light." Zach asked Dean.
"I'm a triple pure light. I started out being a heart pure light, until last night." Dean stated.
"A triple pure light?" Zach was a little confused.
"It means he possess the lights of mind, heart and soul." David explained.
Zach's expression on his face changed to confusion to total amazement. "That's cool! Are you guys a couple? I saw you hold hands just a second ago." Zach got a little blunt.
Dean and Matthew looked at each other and blushed. David put his hand over his face to cover his embarrassment. "Sorry, he can get a little blunt." David explained.
"Excuse me! I can get a little blunt, how about giving me more credit then that." Zach nudged David in the ribs.
Both Matthew and Dean laughed. "See what you did? They're laughing at us." Zach started yelling.
David put his hand over Zach's mouth. "Sorry, he's very high strung too."
"Don't worry about it, and yes you can kind of say that we are a couple." Dean smiled.
"Cool, so are we." Zach took David's hand away from his mouth.
"When did you discover your powers Zach?" Dean asked.
"About a month ago, isn't that right honey?" Zach looked at David, "It's about our month anniversary together."
"Congratulations to you both. You seem very happy together." Matthew commented.
"Thanks, he is a little high maintenance, but I can stand him most of the time." David spilled.
"What! High maintenance? You love me for that though." Zach kissed David on the lips.
"Well, it's getting a little dark, Zach we should be getting back. You have training tomorrow." David put his arms on Zach's shoulder.
"It was nice meeting you guys. I'll see you at training Dean." Zach said as David and him left.
Matthew and Dean waved bye. Dean leaned into Matthew, "If I ever get that high maintenance, knock some sense into me please!"
Matthew couldn't contain his laughter. "Don't worry, I'll make sure you don't get that way." Matthew kissed Dean's head, "Well it is getting dark, and we should head in and call it a night. He's right you have training tomorrow. You're going to be sore, and tire. You should get as much rest as you can."
Dean agreed with Matthew and they flew back to their room. Each pure light and angel had their own little cabin. They were furnished with a kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms, and a living room with a wonderful view of the ocean. The living room looked down at the beach. There was a fireplace in towards the bedroom wall. The floor was made of ceramic tiles. The furniture was arranged so that they faced the fireplace, which had a flat screen TV over the mantle. Matthew let Dean have the master bedroom. Dean felt guilty about having the big room all to himself. "You did that at your place, and I insist you take the master bedroom, or at least join me." Dean didn't give up until he got his way.
Matthew gave in to satisfy Dean. "If this is how you are sometimes, I have to reconsider this very carefully." Matthew smiled as he laid on the bed.
"Reconsider this!" Dean took a pillow and hit him in the face. Matthew grabbed the pillow and took it from Dean and pulled him closer. They kissed passionately. They both started to get hard.
Dean pulled away, "Remember the rule of angels and what we said about taking it slow."
Matthew looked a little disappointed but he knew Dean was right. "Well, I guess we stay with harmless kissing then." Matthew sighed as Dean laid next to him.
Dean put his head on Matthew's chest. Hearing the rhythmic beat of his heart was soothing to Dean. He slowly drifted off to sleep.
The next morning they woke up to the sound of someone knocking on the door. Dean grumbled as he went to answer the door. When he opened the door he saw Zach. "Oh so you're our neighbors? Well David I guess we don't have to introduce ourselves to the neighbors. It's Dean and Matthew." Zach called out to David.
David slowly made his way to the door. "Sorry about this morning disturbance. We were taking a walk, and he just came over here." David felt guilty that Zach woke them up.
"It's no problem, come on in." Dean welcomed them inside.
"Wow, this place is almost like ours." Zach looked around.
"Just a moment, I'll get dressed and get Matthew. We can all have a cup of coffee." Dean yawned and headed to the bedroom.
David and Zach sat on one of the couches. "What do you think of them David?" Zach put his hand on David's lap.
"They look like a sweet couple. They seem to be good guys, but there is something strange about them though. When we where around them last night I felt more at peace and calm like I've never experienced before. It's odd to describe, but maybe it's just me." David put his arms around Zach.
A few minutes later Dean and Matthew came out of the room Dean looking more awake. "Good morning." Matthew yawned as he and Dean went into the kitchen.
"Do you guys like coffee?" Dean asked as he looked in the cupboard.
"I would like some water if that is okay." David spoke up.
"I'll take some coffee." Zach added.
"A fellow caffeine drinker." Dean's voice lightened up.
"Like he needs all that caffeine. He's rambunctious as it is." David remarked.
Matthew and Dean couldn't help but smile, trying not to laugh. Matthew went to the living room and gave David a glass of water. David was starting to take a drink of the water when Zach asked, "Matthew how old are you?"
This caused David to spray the water out of his mouth. "Are you okay David?" Zach looked at him in shock.
Dean and Matthew just busted up with laughter. David soon joined them. Zach looked at all of them wondering why they were laughing. "That was a smart one for me to do." David managed to say.
"That's okay. To answer your question Zach, I'm 1,126." Matthew's laughter calmed down a bit.
"You're almost the same age as David; he's only 1,123." Zach mentioned, "But he doesn't look an age past 28 to me."
"Oh thank you for making me feel old!" David sarcastically spoke.
"You know me babe, I love older men." Zach patted David's knee.
David just rolled his eyes. "Anyway, are you ready for training today Dean?" Zach looked at Dean, who was holding to coffee cups in his hand.
Dean gave Zach a cup. "I'm a little anxious, but that's normal I guess." Dean put his cup to his lips and sat on the arm of the chair Matthew was sitting in.
"So where did you come from? I came Boston, Mass. I miss it right now, since it's almost fall. I love the different colors of leaves on the ground and on the trees. It just makes you stop and think that there is tranquility in this world." Zach explained where he was from.
"I'm from Aurora." Dean answered back.
"That's cool! I love the mountains as well. We should go to the Rockies some time David." Zach said that he looked over at David.
"It would be nice to see the mountains of the western part of the states." David agreed with Zach.
"Well, thanks for the coffee, but we should let you guys be, so you can get ready for today's events." Zach put his cup on the coffee table that was in front of him and got up.
"I'll see ya later at the training grounds." David waved bye as they showed themselves to the door.
"Well, that was a nice wake up call." Matthew just looked at the door.
"I don't know about you, but I'm taking a shower. If you wanna join it's up to you." Dean grabbed the other mug and glasses and put them in the sink.
"That's sounds like an idea. Wash up before we get even more sweaty and stinky." Matthew sarcastically remarked.
"It's your choice, but if you're going to get another kiss from me today, you might want to rethink that." Dean tried to put a guilt trip on him.
Matthew just looked at Dean, and was starting to rethink what he said. "Get the water started I'll be in there in just a moment." Matthew gave in.
"And remember don't try anything funny, I'm binding you to your promise from yesterday." Dean mentioned as he turned on the water and started to undress.
Matthew came into the bathroom shortly thereafter with a robe around him. "Come in the water won't bite, but I might." Dean said to Matthew with a sheepish grin.
The shower door was made of glass that was fogged up with the vapors of the hot water. Matthew took off his robe and got in the shower. "Here, you're just in time to scrub my back." Dean tossed him a bar of soap.
Matthew lathered up the soap in hand and started to clean Dean's back. Dean was soaking his hair with the falling water. This was the first time Matthew was in the shower with another man. He started to get hard just rubbing Dean's back. He started to massage Dean's back. Dean complied with a couple of moans. "Okay let's switch before anything else happens." Dean took the soap from Matthew's hand and traded places with him.
Seeing Matthew's hard on got Dean a little hard as well. He tried to contain his thought of taking Matthew right then and there. The water and the soap weren't helping any either. Matthew turned around and noticed that Dean was rock solid. Dean leaned against Matthew and gave him a kiss. Matthew replied back by kissing more passionately. "Is this considered harmless kissing?" Dean laughed.
"I think it does, we're doing nothing else but kissing." Matthew grinned.
Both of them got out of the shower and dried each other off, thinking of what they wanted to do to each other. But at the same time still thinking, take things slow. They both liked looking at each bodies. Then they started getting dressed, Dean put on a pair of shorts, then pair of sweat pants over those. He then put on one of Matthew's muscle shirts. Matthew put on a T-shirt and a pair of shorts. "Ready to go then?" Matthew asked Dean.
"Let's go." Dean led the way to the door.
When they got to the training field they met up with Crystal and Myra. "So how did the night treat you guys?" Myra asked.
"Treated us descent. We had a nice alarm this morning." Dean remarked.
"What do you mean?" Crystal asked.
"Hello Dean, Matt. You don't mind me calling you Matt do you?" Zach draped his arms around Matthew and Dean.
"Myra, Crystal, this is Zach. Zach this is Crystal and her angel Myra. Crystal is my friend that came with me here. She found out she was a pure light about the time I did." Dean introduced everyone.
"Nice to meet you ladies." Zach winked at both of them.
"Where's David?" Matthew asked.
"He's somewhere around here. Probably warming up. He's that way. He doesn't like to be stiff and all that stuff when it involves any physicality." Zach said.
"Is there something wrong with that?" David said. They looked behind them and saw David in biker shorts, without a shirt.
Matthew and Dean saw how fit David was. "Oh my he's hot, but not as hot as Matthew is." Dean thought to himself, not thinking that he sent it to Matthew.
"Thanks for that comment. You're not bad looking yourself." Matthew sent back.
Dean turned all shades of red. Matthew could only grin.
There were other pure lights and angels at the field. "So many pure lights here." Crystal looked at most of them.
"Okay can I have everyone's attention?" Nathaniel's voice carried for all to hear.
Everybody gathered around Nathaniel, who was wearing sweats. "I want to introduce to you my partner Siora." Nathaniel introduced Siora, "She is going to train all of you in the art of combat, and defense. Listen to her carefully. As for those who don't know who I am, I'm Nathaniel. I'll be teaching you how to use your light powers. We will divide everyone into two groups. The "a" group will stand to my left and the "b" group will stand to Siora's right. Now for all those who hear my message in their mind are group "a". Those who hear Siora's voice are group "b"." Nathaniel instructed and sent his massage.
The group divided into their groups. Dean and Zach went and stood by Nathaniel. Crystal went and stood by Siora. "What a bummer," Crystal put a pouting face on, "I wanted to be with Dean."
"Okay now we start our training." Nathaniel announced.
Nathaniel turned to his group of pure lights. "Okay first off we shall introduce ourselves to everyone. As all of you now know I am Nathaniel. I'm in charge of everything that goes on here on the island. Now I want you to introduce yourselves, you just tell us your name and what pure lights you are, and what level, like a double pure light or for example Dean Allison here is a triple pure light, which is the most powerful, and rare of all-pure lights." Nathaniel pointed to Dean.
Most of the people in the group looked at Dean. Dean took this opportunity to further introduce himself, "Like Nathaniel said I am Dean Allison, I am a triple pure light and this is my angel Matthew."
Every one introduced themselves after Dean. There was a longhaired brunette named Sarah she was pure light of the soul. And a long blond haired surfer named Davis. He was a double pure light of the mind and heart. Zach introduced himself last.
"Okay today we are going to learn how to use your light powers to defend yourselves, in case you confront a dark light. You all can produce a beam of light, all you have to do is concentrate and focus your light power in your hand and a beam will be sent to your target. For target practice we are going to use bolt stones that can with stand the power of light beams." Nathaniel pointed to his left.
"Who wants to try first?" Nathaniel looked at all his pupils.
Feeling confident, Dean volunteered. "Good, now remember focus and concentrate on directing your light power to your hands." Nathaniel reminded Dean.
"If he only knew that Matthew had already told him how too, and that I had already used it." Dean smiled, and got a message from Matthew.
"Don't get over confident Dean. Remember you must focus and concentrate." Matthew scolded him in his mental message.
Dean sighed and took a big breath. He put his right hand up and aimed it at one of the big squared stones in front of him. He concentrated and sent a beam of light at the stone. "Very good Dean. Now who's next?" Nathaniel asked.
Zach went after that and sent it in the air not hitting the stone. Davis then tried. The other two produced beams and sent them at the rocks, either hitting the stone or something else. "Don't feel bad if you didn't hit the stones. In time you'll work on your targeting skills. The next lesson is how to shield yourself from an attack, like rocks, and whatever a dark light uses against you. All you have to do is have your arms wide open. You then direct your light so that light flows from one hand to the other. In time you can use your mind to create a shield without using your hands. But this is simple for now. Now I'll send a beam of light at you and you block it from coming close to you." Nathaniel explained.
Nathaniel first sent a beam at Sarah. Sarah formed a beam of light between her arms that extended into a flat surface, which stopped the beam from Nathaniel.
Dean was up next. A beam shot towards Dean. Dean concentrated and put a circular shield up in front of him.
Davis stood ready and Nathaniel sent another beam at him. Davis produced an upside down triangle.
Zach's turn was up and when Nathaniel sent a beam of light at him, he produced an oblong shaped shield. "Now I want you to pair off with your angel and practice sending a beam of light and shielding. I'll come around and help you out with any pointers." Nathaniel instructed.
They all paired off and started what they where told. Nathaniel was behind the pure lights watching their accuracy and movement. He went to Sarah, "Sarah you're left handed are you not?" Nathaniel asked.
"Yes I am." Sarah answered back, "Do you want me to use my left hand more often?"
Nathaniel smiled, "You read my mind. Try it out and if it works out more, you could have more accuracy on your target."
He looked at Zach. "Zach, I see you're concentrating too hard. Relax and calm down. Being so tense will defer you from your objective."
"Davis, your posture could use a little more work. That's why you're beams are going low. Try standing up straight." Nathaniel straightened Davis' back for him.
Nathaniel looked at Dean and Matthew. He sent a message at Matthew, "He's doing good so far. But that isn't unusual for any triple light that I've trained before. Have you told him about yourself? About being a pure light angel?"
This distracted Matthew from his concentration that he put his shield down, and Dean's beam knocked him backwards. Dean stood there horrified. Nathaniel ran over to Matthew, Dean soon followed. Matthew sat up to tell them that he was okay, but a little dizzy. "Are you okay Matthew?" Dean was in hysterics.
"I'm okay, I should have been paying more attention. All I seem to have is a bump on my head and a few minor scratches. Other then that nothing broken." Matthew reassured Dean.
Relief came over Dean's face. "I'm sorry for talking to you Matthew. I scared myself, and most importantly Dean. I should of known better. Please except my apology." Nathaniel sent another message to Matthew.
Matthew smiled and nodded. They practiced for another hour, then they were sent to lunch. "I'm famished!" Dean heard his stomach, as they got into their cabin.
"Let's have sandwiches and chips." Matthew said opening the fridge to get the bread and lunchmeat.
"That's sounds good. As long as it's food I will be satisfied." Dean's mouth started watering with the thought of food.
"We could eat outside, it's nice day out." Matthew suggested.
"Yes it is, let's do. We have a patio off the bedroom." Dean said as he agreed with Matthew.
They made some sandwiches and went outside. They had a nice peaceful break as they ate and looked at the beach. They went and laid down on a bench, Dean on top of Matthew, with his eyes closed. Dean looked up at Matthew and sensed that something was troubling him. "Whatcha thinking about?" Dean asked.
Matthew looked down at him. "I just have a headache from when I hit the ground. Nothing to worry about, I'll just take some aspirin before we go back." Matthew smiled.
When they got back the groups switched instructors. "Hello everyone." Siora smiled, "Like we discussed earlier I'll train you on hand to hand combat, just in case your powers don't seem to be effective. We'll start out with the basics. This will also tune your mind as well as your body, so don't over do things. We don't want anyone to get hurt."
The rest of the session they learned some maneuvers on blocking, hitting, rolling, and recovering from an attack. By the time they were finished for the day it was about 3 in the afternoon. Dean's muscles started to ache all over from all the physical activity learning the maneuvers. "I didn't know I had so many muscles." Dean was groaning as he laid on Matthew's lap.
Dean smelled the air. There was a musty smell that made him scrunch up his face. He smelt his armpits and made a sour face. Then he smelt Matthew and found out he was in the same condition. "Okay, you and I are going to hit the shower. We both stink and I'm not going to stay like this. If you want to sleep in the same bed as me, well you get my point." Dean got up and went to get undressed.
They both took a shower, helping each other getting rid of the smelly sweat that poured over their body. After taking their shower, Dean laid down for a nap. Matthew told Dean he was going for a walk.
The sun started to set, and Dean woke up from his nap feeling refreshed from the day's training. He went to look for Matthew. He started to get a little worried when he couldn't find him. So he sent messages to Matthew telepathically, but no replies. He thought to contact Nathaniel. When he got a reply from Nathaniel, Nathaniel said that Matthew had been talking to him about something. "There was something I said to him today, when you where doing your exercises. It got him to think. But he'll have to tell you. It's better for him to tell you." Nathaniel finished.
"Thanks Nathaniel, I'll go look for him." Dean sent his last message to Nathaniel.
It took him awhile, but Dean found Matthew in the garden that was outside the Temple. "Matthew." Dean called out in his mind.
Matthew didn't turn around. Dean started to wonder what caused this mood shift. He went in front of Matthew, "What is wrong Matthew. Nathaniel told me that you went to talk to him about something, and that I needed to hear it from you. Please don't keep things away from me. If we want things to work out we won't keep any secrets." Dean held Matthew's hands to his chest.
Matthew looked Dean in the eyes. Dean's eyes looked like they were about to cry, and Matthew smiled. Matthew sat down on the stone bench. He motioned Dean to sit down beside him. Matthew took a deep breath.
