Quileute Shaman-1
I watched the plants grow and shape beautifully as I touched them. Mpagic, that looked like golden light escaped my palms. I watched in innocence as the lights twirled and danced around the plants.
"How? How is this possible?" My teenage mother asked, "He has the gift. Not to mention the talent, what he's doing is something I couldn't do until I reached 40." My grandfather responded.
"They won't let us leave if they find out." My mother whispered in fear.
"That is why I want you to fake his death and put him up for abdoption." My grandfather said.
"But...I can't...I" my mother said in tears, "Need to let him leave if you want him to have a normal life." My grandfather finished, running a hand through my snow white baby hair. Staring at my gleaming cerulean eyes.
Of course I was just 8 months old, so anything they said made no sense to me.
I huffed sitting down on chair, it had been a long day at work. I had gotten everything cleaned up and put away. I work for my uncle at his diner, who works me to the bone and barely pays me. I'm unfortunately stuck here since mom passed. I know I'm adopted, but I still love her, she may not have been my mother but she was my mom. I worked here as a personal favor to her, but after she passed my uncle went crooked on me.
I locked the doors and began my long 8 mile walk to the house. The only reason I ever stayed was, it was the only thing I knew. I of course was forced to drop out of highschool. "The business needs you." Was what my uncle said.
I pulled my coat tighter to me, a cool breeze passed me. I could feel the moisture in the air. Then the air cracked, as the sky shook. And the heavy sound of water rushing to hit the ground could be heard, it was only a few minutes...but I was still utterly soaking wet.
The cold air never left, blowing increasingly unfriendly.
A truck drove by fast, almost running my over. I had to jump out of the way, tripping on a root and I tumbled down off the side of the road into the woods.
"What are you crazy?!" The guy yelled at me driving off. I tried to get up but a sharp pain coming from my ankle shot up my spine, as well as weird wet feeling on my head. I put my hand on it to see blood.
"Ah! Thanks for being concerned jerk." I yelped as I crawled on the soaked and dirty ground. I kept going trying hard not to compromise my ankle any further. I finally got to the road before I fainted from blood loss. _____________________________________________________________________________________________

Why did it need to make sound. I just want to stay asleep. Wait...what was making that noise? Why was I sleeping? Where was I sleeping?
I opened my eyes slowly, low light hurting my eyes. It's as if I haven't seen the sun before in my life. After my eyes adjusted and my eyes stopped burning I scanned my surroundings. I noticed two things, I was strapped to a machine and I was basically naked. I mean yes I was in a hospital gown, but I still felt naked.
I didn't notice where I was, I've never been to this hospital. Yes the walls are white like most hospitals, but the vibe just felt off. Like I've been here before, but once upon a time. I need answers. I pressed the nurse button on the bed.
It was a few minutes before an angelic blond man came into the room.
"Who are you?" I asked, dazzled by his beauty.
"Hello I'm Dr. Carlisle Cullen." He said as another angelic blond came into the room.
"Hey Carlisle, I need to talk to you when you have time." The boy said turning to me with a smile, then I noticed it. Their eyes, their golden honey eyes.
"Sure son, in a moment let me just check up on my patient and I'll be right with you." Carlisle said to the boy who I couldn't help but weakly stare at. Just the sight of him gave me comfort as I felt a warm calm take over me.
"So can I ask you a few questions?" Dr. Cullen asked, "Uh-shoot." I confirmed unsure.
"What is your name?"
"Helaku. It was given by my adoptive mother, she said the day she received me all her storms cleared and became a "Sunny Day." I responded with my name and the reason and meaning of it.
"Do you remember anything?" He asked me, "No, well..flashes went through my head I don't remember what happened.." I answered.
"I just remember shutting down the place, then it goes black." I told him the truth.
"I see. Well you were found in the woods by the side of the road just outside Seattle, by my son Jasper here. A sprained ankle and a blow to the back of the head. You were bleeding, and needed a transfusion. Not to mention, you had a concussion and went into a coma." He explained.
"How long was I gone?" I asked, "You were gone for a year and a half." I was shocked, but a foreign feeling of calm smothered me. That would make me 16.
"I was pressured to pull the plug, no family on record. But I had a feeling in my gut to not listen." Carlisle explained.
"Good to know." I said with a sigh, "I'm glad I didn't make that decision." Carlisle said to me with a small comforting smile.
"Me too." I told them.
"You are so-is that natural?" Jasper asked, "Yes. I'm fully natural." I smirked weakly. My body numb, still waking up after such long of sleep.
"Your features are an anomaly I've never seen before." Carlisle wondered, "Is that a good thing?" I asked concerned.
"Well, I honestly don't know. But it can't be a bad thing." Carlisle said with a soft smile.
"Anyhow, we are going to begin retraining your body to move. After a year and a half, it's most likely numb."
I nodded at that.
It took a few months, my body got it's feeling back. The blood had to start running through my limbs again, then the muscles needed to be trained to move properly.
I was running on a treadmill, my body becoming faster and stronger than what I previously was. It was time for me to move on.
I got away from my Uncle and was in...where was I again?
Somewhere far I hope.
After my last exercise I took a shower, looking at myself in the mirror.
I looked happier than I ever have been. I had become great friends with Jasper and Carlisle, and for once it isn't because my Uncle arranged for me to make a client happy.
"So Helaku we would like to talk about the order of your estate. You don't have a place to live and are just 16. I was wondering if you would like to live with my family." Jasper said sitting next to me on the bed, we held hands as we watched an old war documentary.
"Just to live?" I asked unsure, "For how long?"
"As long as you like." Jasper said with a crooked smile.
"Child Services. Won't they try to take me away and give me back to my Uncle?" I asked nervously.
I felt Jasper tighten his grip on my hand. "That's another thing. I know some people. If you wanted...I can give you a new identity. Start fresh. Maybe even have a real family." Jasper whispered the last part but it still rung in my ear like a beautiful bell.
"Yes, I want that." I said with stars in my eyes, I've always wanted a real family.
"Then will you consider being adopted by my family?" Carlisle asked making his presence known.
"Yes." I said my voice cracked. I can't believe it. I have a family!!
"Then we will have the paper work drawn up. You leave tomorrow." Carlisle said with a smile.
I smiled, looking at the world in a whole new light.
I was excited, I was leaving the hospital finally. Even if I've been asleep for most of my time there.
We drove in a black Mercedes, onto a road that broke off into the woods. A tile driveway opened up. We drove it up a slope and the trees opened up to a beautiful white house a mix between modern and classic.
"Welcome to our and now your new home." Carlisle said with a smile as Jasper opened the door and let me out. Even escorting me to the door. I couldn't help but blush at this, then as if he knew what I was feeling made it even worse by opening the front door and holding out his hand.
"Everyone we have a surprise!" Carlisle said as Jasper held my hand tighter. Why was he acting this way towards me. The way he spoke of Miss Alice gave me the impression they are together. Then I watched as one by one people began to appear. Most of them didn't appear related besides the golden honey eyes.
"Hello everyone. Meet Helaku, he's your new brother." Carlisle said with a smile as he put his hands on my shoulders. Smiles appeared on some faces while the rest had looks of uncertainty and suspicion.
"Carlisle?" I asked nervously, my voice came out almost as a whisper.
"Can I change my name? As much as I love the name my mother gave me...I don't want to think about that old life I had." I said sadly.
"Donovan." Jasper said with a smile. The name just rang with familiarity, it was just made for me.
"Anyways, let's get you introduced with the family." Carlisle said with a smirk, we spent hours just talking all of us. Well some of us atleast. Some people I'm yet to meet.
I learned who was who and everything that went on around the Cullen home. Jasper and Alice were best friends, once lovers, they broke up and respected eachothers wishes..as it seems both were actually gay but afraid of what the others thought. But the family expressed unconditional love and let them both know everything was alright and nothing changed.
I began to blush at that, Jasper has been holding my hand and has been nicer to me than anyone has ever been to me in my life.
"Donny. There is something I have to tell you." Jasper said as he led me to my room.
"What would that be?" I asked as he opened the door and the beautiful stunned me. My room looked like it came from a magazine. It had beautiful white walls, a purple silk bed.
My favorite color.
"It's about my-our family." Jasper said taking a deep breath, "We're vampires." He said with a southern voice.
I thought he was playing with me and that he was actually an incredible actor.
"What?" I asked dumbfounded.
(That's the first chapter. If you like it let me know and I'll make more...or don't I'll still make them. I'm a huge procrastinator, but hey College and two jobs keeps me busy. Anyways thanks for reading.)
