I haven't written a story for nifty in three years so bare with me now.

Chapter 1: The Gorgeous Kidnapper and a Stoner

All I could hear was the sound of cars and the breeze that was causing my blinds to sway as if they were dancing to the strong and steady voice of Frank Sinatra.

As this went on I sat and stared at my messy room. I mean it was repulsive, empty wrappers everywhere, wires snaking across the floor from every corner, dirty dishes e.t.c. I meant to clean it but I was too busy trying to write the perfect acoustic guitar song. I'd spent a good seventeen hours switching between playing Xbox, watching Supernatural, listening to Jessie J and smoking pot.

I was unsuccessfully trying to spend the remaining five hours I had left before I passed out in a stoned stupor to write a Jessie J inspired song. I had my guitar in my hand and I began strumming a chord progression but nothing seemed to fit. Her incredible singing voice tormented me, urging me not to give up. I couldn't really deal with it, I was forcing my voice places it never dreamed of going, and on top of it all I was incredibly sexually frustrated. It seemed that the only way I could find true release was by writing an ear pleasing, mind teasing song. Anyway as I sat there shivering with all kinds of frustration, I was further annoyed by a loud knock on my door.

"What?!" I yelled at the door.

"Someone's here to see you," my flat mate Sam called back excitement evident in her tone. Sighing I got up and went to my bedroom door to be greeted by her big brown eyes reflecting the excitement I had initially sensed.

"Who?" I whispered scared it was another visit from the 5-0.

"A girl, Renee, she's wearing sunglasses but from what I can tell ... she's fit," Sam buzzed.

"Okaaaay," I sighed slightly confused as I walked down the hallway to the front door.

Indeed it was a woman in a black dress wearing sunglasses, pouty pink lips and shoulder length black hair complete with a side fringe. Her skin was pale compared to my caramel skin. She evoked such giddiness within me that of course being me my initial instinct was to fight it.

"And you are?" I sighed running my hands with my messy short hair. She laughed which I found a strange reaction to the question.

"The name's Jessica and yes, I know you don't know me but I know you Renee, and yes I know this strange, some random stranger showing up at your door but I'm not here to hurt you in fact you called me," she said out of breath.

She had a typical London accent but it was slightly different from mine it almost had an Essex feel to it. I stared at her for a second, thinking this had to be some kind of joke.

"Did Ellet put you up to this, well whatever Jessica I didn't call you, I think I would remember if I called you but it was lovely to meet you," I said before attempting to shut the door. I was unsuccessful as she stopped the door with her foot. I stared down at her black boots and legs cloaked in opaque black tights.

"What the fuck is your problem," I snapped at her. She removed her sunglasses slightly panicked to reveal a pair of deep ocean blue eyes they seemed magical, I almost got lost in the waves I thought I could see moving in her iris'.

"Please, don't get loud and let me come in and explain," her voice was soft but I sensed the warning however my safety came first and since I was stoned the paranoia was beginning to kick in.

"No," I stubbornly replied.

"I just want to say I'm sorry for this but this is your fault," I sensed a little rude girl attitude indigenous to South London. I didn't have much time to dwell on it, I felt her warm pale hand grab mine and I was suddenly rendered breathless as I began to fade into a void and just before I could get lost in the blackness of it I was on my bed with the mysterious Jessica standing over me with a look of regret painted onto her face.

I sat up abruptly trying to catch my breath, panicked I felt like my heart was going to burst. Jessica sat beside me catching my hands before I could pull away and stared into my eyes. Once again I was pulled into the blueness of them, her voice snaked into my ear I swear I almost felt her lips against them, so not what I needed in my sexually frustrated state.

"Please do not panic I promise not to hurt you," her voice was touching something inside of me and my instinct was to fight.

"You come up in my flat, do some weird voodoo shit and you tell me not to panic. What the actual fuck? I don't know who you are or what you want but just because you have some sexy blue eyes thing going on, does not mean you can do some crazy mind control on me, so start talking before I exorcise you," I whispered harshly before jumping out of her vicinity and making the sign of the cross with my fingers.

She seemed cocooned in thought for a while and just as my impatience was reaching its limit she snapped out of it.

"Firstly you can only exorcise spirits and demons from other planes. I'm insulted you would think I was any of those and secondly you think my eyes are sexy?" she said smiling showing a pair of cute dimples. My jaw mentally hit the ground; I'm still unsure whether it was because she said demons or that she'd picked up on the fact that I'd said sexy.

"Look no swaying away from the more pressing matters at hand. Explanation. Now... please," I said trying to gain control of my pounding heart. Me and my motor-mouth.

"Sorry it's just that people normally describe my eyes as creepy not sexy but anyway what I'm about to say might be hard to digest but here goes. Look your special, different, you have a ticking mind hence why you smoke so much of this garbage," she said nodding towards my bag of green on the side.

"Oh please, I'm not the only one who smokes weed in this world," I snapped.

"No but you're a magical being who needs this stuff just to be able to stand living on this plane, anyway yada yada it's not safe for you here anymore because you're a rare elemental shifter and it's my job to get you to Chicago were the portal to your home land is, where you can begin your training," she said confidently and calmly that she almost sounded sane, almost.

"Okay this has to be a joke," I coughed. Elemental shifter, I mean come on did she really expect me to believe that?

"I know it's a lot to take in," her eyes softened as she stepped closer. I was suddenly drawn to her lips, talk about random.

"I-I-It's, more than a lot," I stuttered stepping back still reeling from the effect she was having on me. I'm chalking it down to the fact that I'm on heat.

"Look, trust me, what have you got to lose? Except this dump," she said finally noticing her surroundings. "I'm sorry but I have GOT to clean this shithole up," she said before muttering something and in a blink of an eye my room was spotless.

"Bloody hell, will you cool it with that voodoo shit and I was going to clean it tomorrow," I replied going into defence mode.

"You could just say thank you and come with me," she said with an overly cheerful smile.

"Hell no and don't you dare grab me and do that scary disappearing act again, I'm on to you lady. I have commitments you know, university, my family etcetera," I solemnly told her.

"You haven't been to uni in months, that study book has made a home on your floor, you're like me you have a bright mind but you don't feel driven," she said to me evoking a rally of thoughts. She was beginning to piss me off with her know it all attitude, who did she think she was, to come in here and disrupt my life like this as shitty as my life is it still is my life.

"As true as that is I have my family and I'm not running out on them again so kindly fuck off, go do that disappearing act thing you do," I replied being overly rude and shooing her off. She grabbed me and I was suddenly jerked creating a whiplash effect and there it was her face was up close with mine her once calm blue eyes now alight with anger. At this point I was thinking she wanted to throw down, I was fine with that I'd never lost a fist fight in my life. Briefly succumbing to my anger I grabbed her by the neck and threw her off me, lucky for her she bounced onto the bed. She let out a loud sigh and blew her side fringe out of her eyes.

"I deserved that I shouldn't have got physical with you however, no mortal would have had the strength to do that to me, accept it you have a greater calling, so stop being a bitch about it. You have two hours to mull it over then I'll be back to hear your answer," and before I could respond she threw something on the floor and she became shrouded in smoke and as the fog cleared she was gone.

"How fucking original," I called after her. I slumped on my bed picking up the half smoked joint and lighter. I sparked up and inhaled. I then decided it had to have been some fucked up hallucination from smoking too much THC and listening to too much Jessie J. Pop music does melt the brain.

It took me another hour to calm down I spent the next anxiously waiting formulating plans of how to fight her off. So here I was high as fuck waiting for the gorgeous kidnapper to come back. What was shocking me the most was the fact that I was still hung up on how gorgeous she was, milky skin, full pink lips and those fucking eyes. Then it hit me, if I pretended to be asleep, she'll have to go away, I mean if she really didn't wish me any harm. I lay down and curled up into a ball and tried to relax, and just as I was getting there she appears in a ball of light. I try successfully not to flinch and with my eyes closed focused on my breathing. I heard her sigh and suddenly felt her breath on my face.

"Wake up," she whispered. I felt my eyelids being pulled open and blessed with the sight of her face. "Look we don't have time, some demons tracked me here they'll be here soon and if we don't get out of here we are both dead," I should have known, the sneak bitch probably set this whole thing up so I'd have no choice but to go with her. Well I wasn't going to be out smarted even if my life was in danger. I had an issue with pride back then.

"Renee I'm not joking, take my hand," she yelled at me bringing forth my stubbornness.

"No," I was once again adamant to stand my ground. I blame the weed and the fact that I was yet to lose a fight and as that fleeting thought popped into my head two black holes opened on my ceiling and two men dropped in. They looked human except for their completely black eyes! Before I could even speak (not that I could with my heart in my fucking throat!) time slowed as they both threw balls of fire at me. I saw my life flash before my eyes (including the year I spent with my ex-girlfriend Natasha and what an unfortunate and wasteful year it was) right up to this moment. I turned to look at Jessica whose hand was outstretched to me her eyes filled with panic she was moving in slow motion I however wasn't. I quickly grabbed her hand and was instantly swallowed by a white light. As quickly as the feeling of peace and serenity came it went. I found myself landing on a soft patch of grass with a weight on top of me.

"You fucking nit wit, almost getting me killed," I heard her muttering as she rolled off me.

I tried to recuperate as I'd just had the wind knocked out of me. After a while of much needed panting I slowly rose to my feet. All I saw was miles and miles of grey grass, grey sky and a few grey trees here and there. It certainly seemed off the map.

"Where are we?" I asked still trying to make sense of the last three hours of my life.

"We are in what I like the call the in between, it's a plane in between two different planes, it's the only place we could come without being traced," Jessica explained in a slightly annoyed tone.

"Well how do I get back home?" I asked knowing full well I was stepping on eggshells. I watched her turn and stare at me with a glare of death.

"You can't because I won't take you back. I don't know if you're crazy, stupid or just the latter. Some flame throwing, demons show up at your flat and you want to go back. Fuck that I'm your guardian so I will guard you goddamit even if I have to knock you out to do it, now sit down so I can think," her eyes seemed to darken, the glare alone made me stumble back. My temper almost flared up right that instant but something stronger than my pride willed me not to, so I went to my second best tactic, the silent treatment. I sat on the crisp grass and watched as a bag magically appeared and she began to unpack sleeping bags and some other random bits. I could tell she was watching me in the corner of her eye as I scanned the terrain. Suddenly a breezes wafted by and I couldn't help but turn my nose in the air and inhale. It smelt like sulphur it was from about ten miles away I don't know how I knew but I knew.

"What, what do you smell?" Jessica asked moving to sit in front of me. I looked at her with upmost contempt and hoped she got the message. She did because she relayed back a message of hurt with her eyes. I wanted to say sorry for being a bitch about this but I didn't feel sorry if anything she should be sorry. There are thousands of people in Liverpool, billions and billions in the world she could have gone and screwed up any of their lives with all this running for your life crap. My mum would be devastated if I just disappeared off the face of the planet.

"You know you are really stubborn but if our lives are in danger I need to know so please tell me what did you smell?" she asked again and I almost cracked, almost. I got up and crawled into one of the sleeping bags not saying a word to her. It sucked because if this had been any other situation I would be formulating a plan to get her to go out on a date with me but it wasn't she still was a magical being ruining my life and I was still pissed at her for ruining my life. My thoughts were interrupted by another waft of the same smell. My body began to tingle; all my nerves seemed to be standing on end. Six miles away they were moving fast. I began to panic I should probably talk to her now.

"Someone or something's coming," I said not turning to look at her.

"That's impossible we couldn't have been traced," she replied quickly. My tingles became shivers; I kicked of the sleeping back and sat up shaking. I couldn't even begin to explain what was going on. I felt the bead of sweat drip down the side of my face.

"Something's happening to me, Jessica," I gasped as a sharp pain cracked through my back, throwing my forward.

"Renee, what's happening? I don't know what's going on," Jessica rushed to my side.

"You said you were my guardian, so help me," I screamed as pain shot through my body my vision became blurry my eyes were ringing and the smell of sulphur was closer.

"Oh no, oh my God ... you're shifting, it's too soon, it's impossible. What do exactly did you smell Renee and how far away are they?" I could barely make out what she said when suddenly it all stopped. I opened my eyes, she and everything else I could see was in black and white my senses where alive like never before.

"Sulphur and there here, Now!" I barely recognized my own voice, I felt this dire need to rely on my instinct and my instinct was telling me to kill.

To be continued? Let me know if you like it.
