Chapter One: Of Frailty and Bad Thoughts...
"I'll be there around seven!" Seth said as he hit me on the shoulder and ran off to his next class. I chuckled and shook my head. As I got to my locker, I saw Aiden. He was being cornered by some guys from our football team. He was obviously afraid. He was backed up into the lockers; it was like he was trying to disappear into them. I sighed. I swear its guys like these that make the rest of the male race seem like jerks. I slouched as I walked over to my locker. Aiden was backed up against it and trembling. I grabbed his hand and pulled him next to me as I grabbed the lock and messed with it until my locker magically opened. The football jocks however were not happy I was there. "What the hell?" one of them said as he gave me a look of disgust. I looked at Aiden and put my hands on his shoulders. He flinched and looked down, probably expecting me to hit him for the crime of touching my locker. I chuckled good-naturedly and rubbed his arms. "Are you okay? Did they hurt you?" He looked up as if shocked by the question. The jocks scoffed and pulled me away from him. "What the hell are you doing?" "Ah, Brett I should have figured it was you. You pick on little boys now?" I smirked. "Is there something we should know?" The look on his face was priceless. It was like I just found out his deepest darkest secret. I laughed. "Could you let me go? I don't think this looks right." Brett lined up to punch me. I gave him a look, taunting him to take a swing at me. As his fist was about to collide with my face, I dodged to the right and pulled myself from his grip. His fist hit my locker and dented it a little. "Wow, quite an arm you have there." I teased. He grunted in pain and held his hand, knuckles red. He swung at me again and this time I grabbed his arm and shoved him to the ground. "I hope you can throw with your left arm." I said menacingly as I twisted his arm and he grunted, trying not to scream with the pain. His cronies tried to pry me off but the look I gave them made them stop in their tracks. Brett screamed, and I let go. "Touch him and I'll make sure you never throw a football again." He stared at me with wide eyes. "Bye Brett..." I grabbed Aiden and walked off. "You okay?" I asked. He nodded. "Thank you..." I let go of his hand and stopped. I turned and saw how pale he was and how much he was trembling. I rubbed his arms and looked him over. "Well it doesn't look like they touched you." He shook his head. "You need to stand up for yourself." I said. Aiden looked down. "I tried that once. I got my ass handed to me." He muttered. I sighed. "All right, if anything happens come find me." "Why are you being nice to me?" He asked, looking at me with suspicion. "Well hell I don't know. Why be mean in the first place?" Aiden stared as if I had said some profound shit that blew his mind. "Okay, where's your next class?" I asked. He pointed to the ceiling. "Biology...we're dissecting a frog today." I grinned. "Cool! Let me walk you. I don't want Brett and his band of ass wipes to jump you." He smiled, and as he did I stopped breathing. This kid had way too much of an effect on me. I was starting to become unnerved. He was way too beautiful. My manhood was in serious question.
