Tommy looked at the clock and realized it was after 6:00 and he had put in a long day. He was looking forward to spending a quiet evening with his husband, just by themselves. They had company for what seemed like weeks and had a great fun with Carlton and Ben, but they had also been very busy with the two new restaurants and of course the new house. They would be busy soon again moving into the new house next week.
Tommy needed to get home for his quiet evening, a long hot bath together, a simple dinner of pasta, and then to bed for some serious love making. Mmmmmm! that will be great! Tommy hadn't realized he had been stocked by a new employee for the last two days.
His name was Steve Belcher and was an office gofer, filling in where needed. He was not particularly good looking but dressed nicely. Well, at least clean and neat. He was about 35 or so and had been working there for about two weeks. Steve was hanging out near Tommy's office waiting for something to do. He wanted more out of life; Certainly more money and possibly a lover who would take care of him. He wanted it all and had hatched a plan on how to get it. This just had to work, at least the money part anyway, and then he could live the life he wanted so desperately! To be his own man, HE would do this!!
Steve received a page that said to contact Tommy ASAP for a ride. Mmmm, thought Steve. This is coming together better than he expected. He hesitated briefly and then walked into Tommy's office after knocking.
"Yes Sir, you paged Sir? How may I help you?"
"The office staff has gone home and I need a ride, if you don't mind. Go and get a company Towncar from the motor pool and meet me in front of the building in 15 minutes. "You got it chief!!" replied Steve. And he was gone. Mmmm this was going to be good and he would have what he wanted, would have money, and the freedom to do anything he wanted! He had a growing hard-on with his small, thin, 4 1/2" cock pressing his slacks. He went and got a car and was waiting for Tommy in front of the building as instructed. He was nervous, but he needed to do this and now was the time.
He had carried some strong sleeping powder with him, just in case something came up, and here it was! He could put his plan into action. He purchased an iced tea for Tommy to drink on his way home and had spiked the tea. He was ready and hoped this plan would work. It had too!!!
Steve was parked in front of the building when Tommy came out and got into the back seat. He asked Steve if he knew the way to his house in Sea Cliff? Steve said "no" and asked if would tell him where to go. Tommy thought this a bit strange but said of course. Steve then offered the iced tea to Tommy to sip while Steve was driving. This also surprised Tommy, but he accepted the beverage and took a sip. It actually was great. Slightly sweet and nice and cold, just the way he liked it.
Tommy told Steve to head down Geary Blvd towards the beach and he would give directions when the time was right to turn. He put his head back and relaxed in the comfortable Towncar. After downing about 1/2 of the tea, he started getting more relaxed and a little sleepy. He guessed it was from the long hard day he had worked. Meeting with clients all day, paper- work, phone calls, and computer stuff kept him busy all day long. He got more and more sleepy and just fell into a deep sleep dropping the glass of tea on the floor and he remembered nothing else. He was out cold.
Steve looked into the rearview mirror and saw his passenger had passed out. He smiled. He knew what to do. All he had to do now was wait!! It was matter of time now. His plan had started and now needed to be finished. The money and freedom awaited him.
Steve lived in a delapidated old apartment building south of Market (SOMA). It was run down, dirty and shabby, but it was what he could afford. Luckily he found a parking place almost in front of the building. He parked the Lincoln and opened the back door. First he unbuckled Tommy's seatbelt and dragged him out of the back seat. Some drunk was coming out of the building and Steve asked him to hold the door open so he could get his friend upstairs. He said he had a liquid lunch and had passed out and this was the closest place. The drunk held the door open and Tommy was drug into the building. There was no elevator, so Steve had to haul him up to the second floor and into the front apartment. This took a while as Tommy weighed just under 200 lbs. But he managed slowly and finally got him upstairs. He did not run into anyone else and he was sure the drunk would not remember him and he didn't really care.
He placed Tommy into a shabby worn chair and pulled out a large roll of duck-tape binding his ankles and hands tightly. Then he put a large piece over his mouth. Tommy was still out cold from the sleeping powder. Now that that was done, he pulled Tommy's wallet out and found what he was looking for: a business card with all his info and on the back was his home address, phone and fax #s. This was beyond perfect! It was all he needed!!
Several days before, he had purchased a used fax machine and was hooked up to his land line. It sat on an old table in the so-called living room of the run-down studio apartment. He got out a piece of white paper and a box of crayons he had found on the street. With them he composed a note to send to Tommy's home.
Robbie had gotten home and was looking forward to quiet evening with his husband. A nice, but simple dinner and some hot sex afterward. He looked at the clock and called Tommy's cell to find out what time he would be home. It was about 6:15 and he should have been home by now. But it went right to voicemail. That was odd as he always had his phone on. He called the office and got no answer. He then called Thom Sr. to ask if he knew where Tommy was. Thom said he had seen Tommy working away about an hour ago and when he said goodnight, Tommy had said he was going to get one of the office boys to take him home in a company Town- car. He said he would be leaving shortly. "Good night Dad and give my love to Mom," is what he said.
I replied, "Will do, son and see you tomorrow!"
Both men were puzzled that Tommy wasn't home yet. When Thom got off the phone, he called security at the building and asked if they had seen Tommy leaving. The head of security said had seen Tommy with one of the office boys getting on the elevator almost an hour ago. Thom asked which office boy it was, and he didn't know. He must have been one of the new guys.
This puzzled Thom even more and called Robbie back with what he had learned. Just then the fax machine rang in the office at home and Robbie went to see what it was. He asked his Father-in-law to hang on and went to the fax machine.
To his shock and dismay, the fax was in a child-like handwriting and done in colored crayon. It said, `If you want to see Tommy alive again, I want $5. Million in small bills tomorrow morning. I will send another fax with directions. No call to the police or he DIES!'
Robbie started to cry and told Thom Sr. what it said. There was a sharp intake of breath as Thom gasped and said. "OH MY GOD!! We are coming over. I will call the police right now. Hang tight son and we will get this handled."
The men hung up and Robbie called his parents. They were shocked beyond words and said they were coming to the house immediately. Thom and Danielle arrived shortly and rang the bell. Elsa was off as was Daryl so Robbie answered the door with tears running down his face. Both parents took Robbie into their arms. "We will take care of this. Show me the fax."
Robbie retrieved it from the desk and just then the gate alarm went off and the police arrived in an unmarked car. Robbie answered the door and admitted two plain clothes policemen. They introduced themselves as Capt. Jake Brown and Lt. Bob Jones. They both could see how upset Robbie was as he introduced Tommy's parents and were asked to come into the living room.
They all sat down and Danielle asked if anyone wanted coffee or something to drink. Either coffee or tea would be great said the Capt. and Danielle went off to the kitchen to make it. The doorbell rang again and it was Daniel and Cynthia who rushed in and hugged Robbie tightly. They were introduced to the policemen and the wives hugged each other.
Capt. Brown asked to see the fax and found what he was looking for. There was a fax # at the top of the page and he immediately called the precinct and had the number traced. Just then the fax machine rang again and out came another fax in the same crayon handwriting.
It said to `drop the money off in the large red trashcan near the Merry-go- round at Pier 39 at 11:00 Am in the morning. I will be watching, and once again, NO POLICE or suffer!!!'
Back at the shabby apartment. Steve looked over at his captive who was still out cold and smiled. He would be rich and could now do anything he wanted. He could travel, get a gorgeous place to live, have a lover and finally be happy!! He was elated. He would have it all!!!
Daniel said the money was not a problem since he owned a bank and would get the funds first thing in the morning. Capt. Brown said let's not be hasty and there is no need for any money yet. His cell rang and he wrote down the information he received. He now had a name and an address. Steve Belcher lived SOMA in a rundown neighborhood. He lived off an ally near Folsom Street. Capt. Brown called the precinct and asked for back up to meet him at that address with no sirens but to proceed with caution and also an keep an ambulance nearby. Again, NO sirens!!!
Robbie said to the Capt., "I am coming with you!! I will stay out of the way, but this is my husband and I AM COMIN WITH YOU!!! The Capt. said ok and Robbie could ride with them, but he had to stay quiet and in the car!! Robbie nodded and said goodbye to the parents who were staying at the house until they were called. He hugged both dads and kissed the mothers, grabbed a jacket and ran out to go find Tommy!
The Captain, Robbie and Lt. Jones arrived at the address with two other police cars nearby. They looked up and saw a figure moving behind a tattered shade. It was the front apt # 2 that Steve lived in. They knew it was the right apartment and they found the front door lock broken. They quietly entered. The smell and stench was horrible. Mold, mildew and urine mixed in was decidedly unpleasant. How could people live like this?? They would make inquiries into the landlord, since there were multiple violations that need to be corrected immediately. He would likely face a hefty fine!!!
They silently walked up the rickety stairs to the second floor. The Capt. rapped on the door and said in a slangy voice, "Yo, yur Pizza is heer."
Steve thought that was off as he didn't remember ordering a pizza, but he was hungry and hadn't eaten, so he went and opened the door to find the police in front of him with guns drawn. They pushed him through the door. He was handcuffed immediately and read his Miranda rights. The Capt. looked over and saw Tommy bound and gagged with duct-tape. Steve looked shocked at having been caught. The Lt. went over and felt for a pulse and there was a semi-strong one. The duct-tape was cut and removed after pictures were taken. Steve screamed, "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!" and fainted! The ambulance paramedics were called up and they laid Tommy gently on the gurney, covered him warmly and took him downstairs.
Robbie had been pacing the sidewalk nervously and when he saw Tommy being wheeled to the ambulance, he screamed and rushed to him. "Oh Baby, I have you now and everything will be fine."
The unconscious Tommy was loaded in the ambulance and Robbie started to get in. The paramedic said, "Sir, I am sorry but you can't ride with us, it's a ruleÉ" Robbie looked at the young man and said if you value your job, let me ride with my husband. I will not take no as a answer! I AM GOING! END OF DISCUSSION!! He climbed in the back and the doors were shut. He sat holding Tommy's hand and kissed him once more. "I love you babe and I will make this better."
He quickly called the house and told the families that they had Tommy safely in the ambulance and they were on the way to St. Francis Hospital on Hyde St. The parents said they were leaving now and they would meet them there, and promptly hung up.
Robbie also called their physician and he said he would meet them there. Tommy was starting to move ever so slightly with his eyes still closed. He very lightly squeezed Robbie's hand. "I'm here baby. Just rest and we will have you in the hospital very soon to check you over."
Tommy's grip loosened and he fell back to sleep. They were pulling into the ambulance bay where Dr. Bruce Allen met the patient and Robbie.
"Well young man, what a pleasure to see you looking so well. I will take over and I am sure your beloved will be just fine. We will find out what is in his system and will counteract it. Other than that, from I can see, he will be fine. But we will runs some tests to insure it. He should be right as rain in the morning.
They wheeled Tommy into an exam room and took vitals, drew blood and just a total look see. There was no blood anywhere and no bruising other than from the tape on his wrists.
Both sets of parents arrived in the emergency waiting room and asked for Robbie. He came out along with Dr. Bruce and everyone hugged. Bruce told the parents what he had told Robbie and everyone was relieved.
Both sets of parents went in to see Tommy, who was starting to stir a bit, but not opening his eyes. His mother was holding his hand, saying, "Hi, darling, we're here and love you. Wake up honey." Robbie moved to the other side of the bed and leaned down and kissed his husband on the cheek. "Wake up baby. I miss you and you're going to ruin our special evening if you continue to sleep."
With that, Tommy slowly opened his eyes a bit and stared up at his husband. He softly said "Hi. Where am I?"
Robbie kissed him again and said, "You're in the hospital and both our parents are here with us. You need to wake up a bit more before we tell you what happened tonight."
Tommy looked confused and woke up a bit more. He tried to sit up. "What happened babe?"
Tommy asked for some water and Danielle gave him a couple of sips of ice water with a straw.
"Thanks Mom, that was so good. I feel like I have a mouth full of cotton balls." Everyone chuckled!
Robbie started to explain what they think happened and asked what he remembered happening last. Tommy thought a minute and then said he remembered Steve going to get one of the cars from the carpool and meeting him out front of the building and starting the drive home. He handed me an iced tea and drinking part of it. "But I don't remember anything after that at all."
"Well darling, he drugged you most likely with the iced tea he gave you. You passed out and he took you to his apartment, sent me a fax and demanded $5,000,000 million for your safe return. He has been captured and taken to jail and we will deal with all of that when you get home and feel a bit better."
"There is a whole slew of charges against him. Luckily, he didn't hurt you other than drug you and put you to sleep. You most likely will be able to get home in the morning," Thom added.
"They will want to run more tests to make sure you're ok," added his Mom.
"I will be here with you and I am not going anywhere!!"chimed in Robbie.
They all moved out of the room. "Well, Moms and Dads, thanks for being here, but I know Tommy needs some more rest. If we need anything else I will call you!! OKAY?"
"You most likely haven't had any dinner, so why don't you get a bite and get some rest? You really didn't need to come down here you know."
Thom looked at Robbie incredulously and said, "Oh no, we didn't need to be here at all,"
"and let our son lay in a hospital bed alone with God knows what" added Tommy's Mom,
"and frightened," Robbie's Mom inserted.
"As far as dinner goes folks, Let's get out of here and go dine at Mickie `D's. Anyone for a Big Mac??"Robbie's father asked.
They started to laugh as Robbie hugged his father in law. "Good night folks. I will call later and we love you."
Danielle kissed her son and so did Thom. They all said, "Goodnight." Those kisses were followed by both Daniel and Cynthia. "You get some rest Son, and we will see you tomorrow."
"We love you both!" And they walked out the door.
So guys, another disaster diverted and Tommy appears he will be fine. (Thank God!!!) I Hope everyone is enjoying the story so far. As always, I welcome your comments and suggestions. Thanks to my dear Allen for his patience and hard work that keeps me going. It gets frustrating at times with computer glitches. UGH!!! Sometimes I want to go to a stone tablet and chisel, LOL.
