Hello Everyone!

SO SO SO SO SORRY for the delay lol. Life. Need I say more? What I did not expect however was to continue to get emails and support, people asking if I'm ok, readers asking for the next chapter...YOU ALL ARE FUCKING AMAZING. I hope you all are safe and healthy!

Alot of people enjoyed Chapter 6! I didn't realize until recently that in my final words of Chapter 6 I jokingly alluded to not getting the next chapter out for a year lol

In one of my readers words, "You've hit the trifecta! Sex, Drugs and Guns!". LOL. Seriously though I love all of you guys for sharing your thoughts and ideas with me. I'm especially appreciative and honored that some of you are sharing pieces of your life with me; we are apart of a truly awesome community.

I NEED you all to let me know what I'm doing right and wrong, weird or cool or stupid. Give me your thoughts on the story's direction.

******************************************************************************* SIDE NOTE- By request from one of my readers here is a summary of the story so far: Jack Miser, Bellamy Sorrow and Carter Miser are the three teenage sons of mysterious CIA operative Alexander Miser. Jack and Bellamy are in a romanitcally committed yet semi sexually open relationship (Bellamy was adopted when the boys were young). Alexander's old friend from the Company, Dorian Wright, is the father of two boys; Damian Wright and Lucas Wright. Damian has been a confidential informant for a dirty police detective that is seeking sensitive information on his father. Damian is straight and has a girlfriend, the very beautifu Kali; however, Damian has hinted more than once at sex between him and Jack. Lucas, the younger Wright brother is interested in Carter, the youngest Miser brother. Lucas is gay and doesnt want to be just another hook up for Carter who is otherwise straight except when it comes to Lucas; Carter has serious reservations about being in a same sex relationship. Both boys are sort of meeting each other half way and have agreed to guard each other's hearts. Meanwhile Jack Miser, with help from his dad and brothers, is getting ready to launch a crusade to take over the gang problem in Salt Stone and save his new friends Damien and Lucas.

(ALSO, you may want to re-read chapter six, or at least the ending, to better understand this chapter.) ******************************************************************************** CHAPTER 7- JACK

FUCK FUCK FUCK. I'm rockecting up mainstreet, double clutching my way into oncoming traffic and back again. If I had more time I would've gone off on dad. How could he so non-chalantly tell me Bellamy was going to be killed in ten minutes? And that was like- FUCK! four minutes ago- BEEEEEEEP SHIT! I almost missed fourth gear. Get it together Jack! I thought we had more time to prepare. If Detective Harding was on to Damian he could be on to all of us. What if he already has information on Dorian or my dad for that matter? This doesn't make any sense! If dad's identity was at stake he seems more than capable of taking care of that himself. I'm missing something- BEEEEP GODDAMNIT! DING! My phone. Bellamy's gps YES! I love that boy, he's a genius. Hold on Bell, I'm coming baby!

I come to a screeching halt behind what looks like an abandoned concrete garage somewhere uptown. I'd never been up this way before. I grabbed the gun out of the passenger seat and checked to make sure it was loaded. Thank god for first person shooter games or I'm not sure I'd know what I was doing. I run around back, trying to be quiet, looking for windows so I can gain a field of vision. PERFECT! There are crate boxes stacked up to a row of short, open windows.

When I get to the top I peer inside and what I see makes my heart stop. Damian is bleeding from seemingly everywhere and Bellamy is slumped over unconcious. Harding is pacing back and forth, monologueing to Damian about something but I can't hear what. I Carefully climb inside and step down on some boxes before slinking my way to the floor to hide behind more boxes. To my left there is an old rusted Ford that looks like it's been sitting in that spot since it left the factory. I peek around the box and listen to Harding.

"This is just my shitty fucking luck! When they gave me this assignment I thought 'Sweet! Finally my talents are being recognized, finally a chance to move up the ranks. All I gotta do is find a way to expose Dorian Wright'. They wanted this done by the book right? Right!"

He's not making any sense. His eyes are blood shot and bugged out, he must've been using recently. I need more information.

"They wanted this done by the book, Dorian's death would raise too many quesions. But I couldn't find any evidence to expose him. So I figured if I get you involved with the local gangs then Dorian would have to come out of retirement to help you. If he got caught and killed in the field associating with gangs then your family would be ruined and they would lose another soldier. But that didn't happen did it Damian? DID IT?!" FWHACK! Harding struck Damian across his already battered face. I don't understand how Damian was coherent right now. It amazes me that he even has the strength to communicate.

"I don't understand what you're talking about," Damian said with a shaky breath.

"Fuck you, you little asshole, who is he?" Harding pointed to Bellamy.

"Just a friend." Damian responded.

"That's bullshit! I've never seen him before and all of sudden on the night I decide to kill you he comes out of nowhere?" Harding asked incredulously. "What's his name?"

"Go to hell." SMACK! He struck Damian again.

"WHAT IS HIS NAME?"

"Bellamy."

"Bellamy what?" SMACK! This motherfucker is going to get it. When Damian lifted his head again he caught my eye. If his face showed surprise you couldn't see it anyway. I pulled out my gun and started to pull the hammer back. He saw this and shook his head ever so slightly. He wanted more time.

"Bellamy Sorrow." He stated.

"Sorrow? Sorrow? I don't know that name. That name isn't on the list. LIAR!" Harding raised his hand again to strike but Damian started talking again.

"Bellamy is one half of a devestating coin. If he's sorrow, his brother is misery hehehe." Damian started cackling. I don't know if this was part of his distraction or if he's just lost too much blood.

"What the fuck are you talking about kid?" Harding stopped pacing to absorb what Damian was saying.

"I think I know who you work for now and Jack will bring misery to you all. Misery and Sorrow are coming to you all!" Damian yelled.

"WHO ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!?" Harding yelled back.

"Jack Miser." This time when I searched Damians eyes for the go no go, all I saw was go. BANG! I shot Harding behind his knee and he went down, his gun sliding away from him. I walked up to him quickly and shot him in his other leg. BANG! He screamed out and alternated between checking the wound in his right knee and the one in his left thigh. I'm sure his adrenaline was working double time. I walked over to Damian and began untying his wrists and ankles, at the same time I looked over Bell to see if his condition was serious. Harding watched me and a look of recognition appeared on his face.

"Miser?" He asked out loud. I didn't answer him. "I know that name but you're not him. Who are you? What are you doing here?"

"Clearly I'm Jack Miser, use your context clues dude," I mean seriously, "and it's pretty obvious what I'm doing here."

"You motherfucker! You came alone?"

"Well my dad didn't seem too interested in coming here with me." I said. If it's possible his eyes doubled in size.

"The Miser is here?! In Salt Stone?" He asked, a ridiculous look of fear plastered his face. And then... Jesus Christ he's dragging himself away. He's lterally dragging his bleeding body towards the exit. Cocain is a hell of drug...I think Rick James said that once.

Damian stood and immediately began to fall over so I sat him back down and with a look I told him to stay. I walked over to Harding who was making an impressive escape.

"Who do you work for cop?" I asked. He ignored me and kept dragging himself away. I kicked him hard in his shoulder to turn him over.

"FUCK YOU!" BANG! "AHHHHH you mother fucker! STOP shooting me!"

"Start answering my questions, who do you work for?" I asked.

"You're all going to die." He said with a maniacle smile, blood beginning to stain his teeth. "Some of you are half way there."

I looked back to Bellamy and he was starting to come to, Damian on the other hand was getting ready to pass out. He needed a hospital, soon.

"You're not going to tell me anything are you?" I asked. He smiled wider at that, he's lost a lot of blood, it's starting to reach my boots. "Ok-" I said, "well there's more of you then I'm sure, can you answer me that?" I asked.

"Hahaha," He chuckled then got a real serious face. He stared into my eyes and began to laugh harder, "HAHAHAHAHA-" CRACK!! I pistol whipped him so hard that a tooth flew out of his mouth. This shut him up but he needed to regain his senses. "You have no idea what you're up against, you fucking fool, WE OWN THE WORLD! Do you know what kind of fight you're in for?"

"I'm in for the fight of my life...and I'm goddamn ready for it." BANG! BANG! BANG! I looked up and let out a sigh. I turned my attention back to Bellamy and he was staring at me. He'd just seen me kill a man. I can't imagine what he was thinking in this moment. We don't have time for a heart to heart though.

"We need to get Damian to a hospital." I said walking over to him. I put my hand on his shoulder, "Can you stand?" I asked.

"Yes." He said, using my arm as leverage to pull himself up. Once he steadied himself he looked at me and he smiled. I brushed some hair away from his eye. Then Damian groaned and I remembered where we were.

"Shit, help me get him in my car." After we safely buckled him into my passenger seat I think I started to think clearly again. "You need to drive Damians car, he can't have any connection to this scene." I said, reaching into Damians pocket and getting his keys. "Also, you should go check Harding's pockets for his phone, wallet, keys, anything. Take it all ok?"

"No problem. Anything else?"

"Yeah, I saw some bleach next to the wall in there behind the rusted old ford. Pour some on all of the spots where you find Damian's blood."

"Ok. What about my car?" Bellamy asked.

"Follow me to the hospital when you're done. Carter's going to meet us there and the two of you can go get your car."

"Ok," He hugged my tightly before running back inside.

It was roughly midnight now and mainstreet was pretty empty. I wasn't completely familiar with where the hospital was, I know I needed to turn left off of mainstreet and drive inland for a few miles. Damian was mostly unconscious but continued to groan some. After a while I noticed the lights of Salt Stone Regional Hospital, I'd heard it was renowned for it's advanced heart failure unit. Thankfully though that's not why we were here. I pulled into the emergency drop off and there happened to be a nurse there, I think she sensed my distress because she made her way to my car before I even got out. She was clearly not expecting me to be driving on the right hand side of the car, I'll laugh about that later.

"My friend was attacked. I think he's hurt pretty bad." I explained. When she saw Damian she immediately ran to get help. I carefully extracted him from the car just as a gurney rolled to a stop behind me. Nurses took over from there. I followed them as closely as I could before a large woman stopped me.

"Are you family?" She asked and she knew damn well I wasn't. Fucking hospitals.

"No ma'am I'm not, could you please keep me updated?" I asked.

"Sure thing darlin, have a seat over there." She smiled and pointed to a bench along the eerie white wall of the hospital. When I sat down I called Carter, I tried to be as discreet as possible. I simply told him that Damian had been attacked and that he and Lucas needed to get to the hospitatl.

"But Jack I don't have my license," He said, starting to get worked up.

"Have dad bring you."

"Dad's here?!"

"You haven't seen him?" I asked.

"NO! What the hell?" He yelled. Now where in the fuck did he go?

"The keys to dad's jeep are hanging up in the garage. You don't need to rush but get here soon."

"Ok ok, we're coming." He hung up. Fifteen minutes later Bellamy walked in and sat down next to me. We didn't speak for a little while.

"Do you need to talk about it?" He finally asked me. I glanced over at him and thought for a moment.

"I don't need to talk about it...but if you need me to I will." I responded. He smiled at that.

"I don't need you to talk about it." He said, I sighed in relief.

We both turned towards a commotion down the hall, Carter and Lucas just ran into the lobby, much to the annoyance of some of the staff. When they saw us they beelined down the hall.

"Jack where is he?" Lucas asked in a panic.

"He's with some nurses and probably a doctor at the moment. I'm not sure how bad it is yet, I'm waiting to hear." As luck would have it, no sooner had I finished that sentence when the large woman returned with an attractive latino man in a white coat.

"Young man this is Doctor Felipe Cortez, he can explain to you what's going on." She said. She had a name tag that I didn't notice before and I read it quickly.

"Thank you Rhonda." I smiled.

"As Nurse Rhonda said, I am doctor Cortez and you all are?" He asked politely.

"My name is Jack, these are my brothers Bellamy and Carter. This is Damians brother Lucas." I introduced us. As soon as Doctor Cortez learned there was a sibling to his patient his attention went immediately to Lucas.

"Lucas is it ok if I explain the situation here?" He asked. Under different circumstances, maybe more trivial cirumstances, that might have pissed me off. But the doctor seems ok so far.

"Yes sir, these guys are like family to us." Lucas explained. "Is Damian ok?"

"Well, yes. He looked worse than he was. He only has one cracked rib. Most of the damage was concentrated on his face. He may have a minor concussion and we expect swelling and heavy brusing in the next couple days. He's also lost a lot of blood. We'll treat him for the pain and swelling but we didn't feel a blood transfusion was necessary. We've given him some me dication that should take affect soon, astonishingly he's quite alert despite his pain." That made me smile. "He should be fine in a little while, would you like to see him?" Doctor Cortez asked.

"Yes please, can they come with me?" Lucas asked. The doctor thought carefully about this.

"Perhaps only two should see him now," He said confidently. Carter took a step forward but I put my hand on his shoulder. He saw something in my eyes that told him not to question me. He gave Lucas an encouraging hug and sat back down. Doctor Cortez took notice of our exchange but didn't say anything. He led us back down the hallway past a series of doors. We stopped at room 115 and inside lay my bruised and battered friend.

"I'll give you some time alone." Cortez shook my hand.

"Thank you sir," I responded. Lucas wasn't even trying to hold his tears back. Damian didn't have the strength to fend off Lucas's fussing. While they were having their moment I texted Bell and told him that he and Carter should go get his car.

"Lucas...Lucas please c'mon man, I'm ok. Luke!" Damian said sharply. "I know you're upset but I'm ok really. I love you but I need to talk to Jack right now ok?"

"Ok," Lucas pouted his way over to the chair. I walked slowly to Damians side. I grabbed his hand and held it while I studied his face.

"Harding-" He started.

"Dead." I finished. He nodded.

"The guy that did this to my brother-" Lucas began to get worked up again.

"Is dead." I said again. "And that information stays in the family for now, do you understand?" I asked Lucas, to this he nodded as well. The door then opened abruptly and in walked Dorian Wright, my own father right behind him. I think Damian, Lucas and I were too shocked to speak. Seeing them side by side was certainly interesting. Dorian had both height and weight on my dad, but dad still worked for the company; he was leaner, sharper and certainly a good deal more deadly at the moment. More deadly huh? I'm so mad at him right now I could probably take that claim myself.

"Have you lost your goddamn mind?!" I asked him. "They could have been hurt or killed! Look at him!" I pointed to Damian. "What if I had gotten there too late?"

"You weren't alone." Dorian said to me as he looked over his oldest son.

"Excuse me?" I asked.

"We had friends watching, the whole time." My Dad explained.

"And they let this happen?" I asked, pointing again to Damian.

"What have I always told you about pain Jack?" Dad asked. This was one of his greatest lessons. Pain is growth. Pain is a blessing. Just as trees need the wind to survive so too does man need pain. His question sobered me.

"Ok, what does all this mean?"

"While you were rescuing your brothers, Dorian and I searched Harding's house. Seems he managed to get sensitive material on Dorian afterall."

"Ok but what about Harding's boy, Grant? Our actions effect people, I killed a boys father tonight." I said.

"Harding was a veteran of the force, his wife will receive his retirement and from what we read in his study it's pretty sizeable. Perhaps even more sizeable than it should be." My dad explained. "The boy will be fine, assuming our enemies don't get to him first."

"And who is the enemy?" I asked.

"The Web," Damian said quietly, although he looked as though he was starting to list to the side. Dorian and my dad looked at him with surprise.

"How did you know that son?" Dorian asked.

"I overheard you talking to Alex, but our enemies call him The Miser, isn't that right?" Damian asked.

"Wow, either he's extremely bright or you're not what you used to be, maybe a bit of both," Dad smiled but Dorian didn't find it amusing at all. "The Web is a secret society of extremely wealthy and well connected people. They are intent on global domination through every sphere of influence: Religion, politics, the military, the media, you name it they're involved. And they've nicknamed me The Miser because I've made a passtime out of assassinating them wherever they feel safest," he explained.

"And the list..." Damian started to ask but stopped abruptly, hes barely keeping his head up, "Jack, ask...about....the list," aaand just like that he was sound asleep.

"Well? What's this list?" I asked.

"The Web has a list of it's most dangerous enemies. Both Dorian and I are on this list," Dad explained.

"Why are they here in Salt Stone?" I asked.

"For two reasons," Dorian started, "the first being that they have a stake in the local drug trade and by extension, competition between to opposing gangs is more profitable. The second reason is that I was here."

Jesus Christ this was a lot to process. The Web is real and my father is one of their biggest enemies. Things are starting to make sense. Dad's constant martial arts lessons. The philosophy lessons. The money he gave us not to get entry level jobs. He's been grooming us to join him...

"And who are you? Who are we?" I asked. My dad and Dorian looked at eachother before I got an answer.

"We are simply The Family," Dad said, "we work against The Web at every level. We are outnumbered for sure, but by no means are we outmatched. We have allies in extremely lofty places. Our resources may not be quite as vast but we certainly make up for it in cunning and subterfuge. I was a young CIA operative when my mentor recruited me. I had my reservations about joining the fight, and I was originally opposed to involving my children. But after seeing what I've seen, I believe there is no greater legacy to pass on. Our fight is glorious, it is righteous and I cannot wait until the day when the names of my sons strike fear in the hearts of our enemies."

************************************************************************* WELL...that took a while to get out. This chapter seems inadequate to me but let me know what you think. I apologize in advance but I have no idea when the next chapter will be out, I hope you stay with me for the long haul,

Best wishes and stay safe! D
