'A Second Chance' Chapter 11
Disclaimer: The usual stuff applies. I don't know the Backstreet Boys, I don't know N*SYNC. As far as I know, none of them are gay, and I am not trying to imply anything about their sexuality. If you are homophobic, I do have to wonder what you are even doing here. If you are underage, please leave, or at least make sure that you don't get caught.
Hi all. How's everyone doing? I hope you all enjoyed the last chapter. This one is another interesting chapter, and for those who've been dying to find out who the new couple is...your wait is finally over. So, have fun.
~Another thing I just have to do. I have to give you guys a story recommendation. The absolutetely bestest story out there is 'Brian and Me' by DLS. He's already a legend on the board, and if you're not reading the story yet, what are you waiting for!? ~
The sunlight was spilling into the hotel room, causing Nick to squint. He had just woken up and his eyes were not yet accustomed to the bright light. He turned to check on Justin, who was still asleep. Memories from the last night flooded Nick's mind and his lips curled up in a smile. Acting on a sudden impulse, he reached for the phone. He had to talk to someone, and since he didn't want to wake up Justin just yet, the only other choice was Brian. He quickly dialed the number. Brian picked up the phone after the third ring.
"Good morning sunshine!" Nick exclaimed.
"My, aren't we in a good mood today. Why are you so damn perky at this time of day?" Brian grumbled. He was not a morning person. And Nick wasn't either, not usually anyway. So what was going on?
"Guess what happened last night." Nick said, the excitement clearly audible in his voice. Brian sighed.
"I have a pretty good guess. But why are you calling me to tell me that?" he asked.
"Because I wanted to share it with someone. It's not everyday that you get to seduce your boyfriend for the very first time." Nick explained. Brian didn't reply for a very long time. When he finally did, the shock was still heavy in his voice.
"Are you trying to tell me that you guys never actually did anything until last night? You waited a whole six months?" Brian asked. Nick nodded, then remembered that he was on the phone and replied.
"Yup. We wanted it to be special."
"Well then, congratulations. Did you like it?" Brian asked. Even though he had long since gotten used to Nick and Justin kissing in front of him, he still wasn't quite comfortable with the thought of them having sex.
"Yes! I loved it! It was the most amazing thing ever!" Nick stated. Brian could just imagine the goofy grin Nick was having on his face and it made him smile. A knock on the door reminded him that it was time to get ready for breakfast. He hastily hung up and let in his cousin.
Nick put down the phone and looked at Justin. He'd have to get up now, but Nick simply couldn't get himself to wake him. Justin just looked so peaceful, almost like an angel. He leaned down and sucked on Justin's earlobe, and Justin started to giggle.
"Did you really like it that much?" he asked. Nick gasped.
"How long have you been awake?" he asked in shock. Justin opened his eyes and sat up.
"Long enough to have heard your entire phone conversation. Now answer my question." He demanded.
"Never in my life did I feel as good as I did last night." Nick said and Justin nodded.
"That's exactly how I feel. It was so..." he let his voice trail of, at loss for words.
"...Indescribable." Nick finished for him. "And now we have to get ready for breakfast."
When Nick and Justin entered Kevin's room hand in hand, they were the last to get there which earned them a disapproving glance from Kevin. There were a lot of negative emotions in the air, and no one was talking. AJ wasn't in the mood to talk, even though he was feeling a lot better. Lance and especially JC were worried about him, but didn't know how to approach him. Joey was sitting in a corner of the couch, a cup of coffee in his hand, trying to rid himself of another hangover. Nick and Justin were feeding each other with strawberries and pancake and being even more sickeningly sweet than normal, if that was even possible. They were completely oblivious to the bad mood everybody else seemed to be in. Finally, Kevin tried to break the silence.
"Why are we all moping around?" He asked no one in particular.
"I'm not moping!" Nick pointed out.
"And why would you be? You had fun last night." Brian just barely managed to finish his sentence before the pillow hit him.
"That was supposed to be confidential information?" Nick complained.
"You shouldn't have told him in the first place." Justin chided his lover.
"Why confidential? It's not like we don't know what the two of you do when the lights go off." Howie joked.
"Actually, they just started last..." Brian didn't finish the sentence. Both Nick's and Justin's eyes were throwing daggers. But it was too late. Everyone had caught on. They started laughing and Nick blushed a very dark shade of red while Justin buried his head in Nick's shoulder. In the whirlwind of jokes and teasing that followed, no one noticed that AJ left the room. No one but JC. He quietly got up and followed AJ out the door. JC entered their hotel room to find AJ curled up on the bed, sobbing.
He'd always assumed that they were having sex. But somehow, knowing for sure made things worse. He couldn't stand watching the happy couple, while scenes of them making love constantly played in his mind. He didn't even want to imagine that. So he had gotten the hell outta there. He had barely managed to keep his tears at bay till he'd reached his room, and now there was no more holding back. He collapsed onto the bed and sobbed mercilessly. After a while he realized that he wasn't so much jealous of Justin for having Nick, but for either of them having a boyfriend in the first place. The more he thought about it, the clearer it became to him that he was lonely. He needed someone, anyone, to talk to. Someone other than Kevin, who'd understand and just hold him close and be there for him. Sure, he still liked Nick a lot, but jealousy wasn't the main reason why he'd had to get them out of his sight. They just symbolized everything he wished he had.
He was so caught up in his thoughts, that he didn't even realize that JC was in the room, that he had sat down on the bed and was staring at AJ. JC didn't know what to think anymore. If he didn't know any better, he'd think that he was becoming seriously attracted to AJ. But that simply couldn't be. AJ was a guy! Pushing any uncomfortable thoughts away, JC scooted closer to AJ and pulled him into his arms.
"It's ok. I'm here. Just let it all out, and then we can talk about it if you want to." JC soothed, and after a while, the sobbing stopped. AJ thought that he should be embarrassed to be held like this by JC, but he wasn't. For some reason, it just felt right. So he let it happen. Neither of them quite knew what was gong on, but they weren't willing to put an end to it, either. After a while, AJ lifted his head to look up at JC. What he saw in those eyes was more than friendly concern and worry. But he had a feeling that his own eyes were showing more than friendly appreciation for the way JC was being there for him. Suddenly a very disquieting image formed in AJ's mind. Before he could push it away, he turned it into an action.
JC had wanted to do that very same thing for at least he past then minutes. But since he had never wanted to do anything like this before, he was torn between just going ahead, or stopping himself before he did something that could possibly be a very big mistake. And then AJ made the decision for him and just kissed him. It became more and more intense, until JC realized what he was doing and pulled away. Damn, he had liked this, But, what did it mean? AJ looked at him with a mixture of surprise and shock.
"I'm sorry. I didn't--I don't know what I was thinking." AJ apologized. JC shook his head.
"No, don't apologize. It was as much my fault as it was yours. What do you say we just forget about this and go back to the others? They should have noticed that we are gone by now." JC replied, then quickly added "That is, if you are feeling better." AJ nodded.
"Yeah, lets go back."
There ya go. That's all folks. Hope you liked it. I'll be waiting for feedback. And I know that I promised to reply every single e-mail, but I have to add that I do have one condition. Please don't send me the kind of e-mail I have to download before I can even open them. Other than that, keep the feedback coming. I need to know what you think of the story so far. Take care, j
