The Shining Light
Chapter 1:
I stood there transfixed. After all this time of fighting to prevent this from happening it was now out of my control. I watched, frozen in fear, as the man in front of me started radiating a dark, evil power. It came as a black cloud, originating from the man and spreading out, growing. Even though I was 100 meters from the man the cloud soon enveloped me, but it did not stop there.
I knew that if I didn?t do something, anything at all, that cloud would cover the whole world. My paralysis started wearing off, and just as I started moving towards the man the dark cloud started to pierce my heart. It felt as though everything good in my life had been destroyed. I felt all alone and as if I would never be happy again. That?s when I started to scream.
I woke up suddenly, drenched in a cold sweat, to my best friend shaking me. ?Jack, wake up,? He said.
?I?m awake, I?m awake,? I said, and he removed his hand from my shoulder.
?Are you alright Jack?? he asked.
?Yeah I?m ok,? I stated even though the images of my dream were running through my mind.
?Sounded like you were having quite a nightmare,? he said, his voice laced with concern.
?How did you know?? I asked.
?I heard you screaming. I thought you were hurt or something from the way it sounded,? he replied. I glanced down in shame, the thought of screaming while dreaming was embarrassing. That?s when I noticed that he was naked.
?Um, Greg?? I asked.
?Yes jack?? he replied.
?Um, you do realize you?re naked don?t you?? I asked, blushing. He looked down to see his soft cock and balls hanging there in the open.
?Whoops,? he said and turned to run out of the room, giving me a great view of his bare ass. I was glad and disappointed that he left when he did. Glad because he wouldn?t see my raging hard on tenting my sheets, and disappointed because I only got a quick look at his beautiful body in all its glory.
I lay back down into my pillows, and glanced at my blinds. They were dark, which meant it was still night. I picked up my phone to check the time. 4 am. Ergh. I knew I wouldn?t be able to get back to sleep after that nightmare. I threw my sheets off and got out of bed just as Greg came back and walked in to check on me. He stopped dead.
?Oops sorry Jack,? Greg said as he saw I was naked, his eyes darting to my erection before he backed out of the room. I grinned once he was out of the room and started to get dressed.
I walked out of my room and Greg was sitting at the island at the back of the living room. I take a quick look at his body before walking over to join him. He is a hot man. In his 40s, big body, his big belly sitting bare in front of him. He has hardly any hair on his chest. I look down and he is sitting in just his jocks. His bare legs look sexy. Nice and thick and, again, hairless. He is a god to me. Forget about all those statues you see of young men that look like you could break a coconut on their chests. Give me a mature man who has a little extra padding. Not these gym junkies who starve themselves. Yuck.
I took the seat opposite from Greg and lit up a cigarette to try and calm myself. My hands were shaking uncontrollably, a side effect from my nightmare.
?Are you alright Jack?? Greg asked once again.
?Yeah I?ll be fine. Just give me a moment,? I replied, trying to control the shaking.
?So what was it that had you screaming like that? What were you dreaming about?? Inquired Greg.
?It wasn?t so much the dream that had me screaming. It was more the feelings that came with the dream,? I said. ?I felt hopeless and I despaired. I felt alone. It was as if I was the last person on the planet. Like you and everyone I love had been torn away. It felt as if I was standing on your graves and like I was the one who killed you all. It was the worst feeling in the world.?
Greg just sat there silently staring at me. Not in an uncomfortable way though. I could see the concern in his eyes and the sympathy. We sat there without speaking for about 5 minutes before I said ?It?s early Greg. You should go back to bed and try to get some more sleep. I?m sorry for waking you.?
?There?s no need to apologize Jack,? Greg said. ?Its not like you can control what happens to you in a dream.?
?I know,? I replied. ?But it is still my fault. Go back to bed and I?ll see you when the sun is up.?
With that Greg trudged back to bed and I couldn?t help myself getting an eyeful of his magnificent body. I started thinking to myself how I ever ended up with a best friend like him. He was a middle aged man who had his own friends and I was a 21 year old who was a bit of a loner. But that didn?t matter to him. He took me under his wing as if I were his own son. He looked out for me and taught me more about life than my own father had. It really was a shame that he was straight and had a fiance. If only he knew the true feelings I had for him.
