The loud music playing in the background was starting to give me a headache, the shots of alcohol I just consumed wasn’t helping much either. I just wanted to get away from everything. My life felt like it was over. After seven great months, Derek just dumped my out of nowhere. Of course he used the line “It’s not you; It’s me I need some time to think.” Yeah he must have needed help from Scott because I caught them making out in the boy’s locker-room after school. Why was I so stupid, I know I am only seventeen but I need and wanted love to just like everyone else. “Alex wait up!” I heard Vanessa yelling behind me running to catch up with me. She was wearing her bra and underwear. We were invited to an underwear party thrown by the football jocks. It was a way for them to get girls drunk and be a step closer to getting them in bed. “Vanessa, please I just want to be alone right now.” I said as I fell against a tree, Derek ended up coming to the party with Scott, I was so pissed and upset that I join in with the jock

taking shots. I wasn’t sure what we were taking but I knew it was help at the moment. “Rrright! You can barely walk, let’s go back inside and get dress.” She said with a smile and placed her hand on my shoulder. “I want you to have fun.” It took all my effort to get that sentence out where she could understand. “I would have more fun sitting on the couch with you watching stupid sci-fi movies, eating a tub of ice cream.” “I love you!” I said as I wrapped my arms around her and placing all my weight on her. “OH GOD BABE!! I love you too but I can’t hold you up, you have to help me here!” She said as we both slowly fell to the ground. I rolled off of her and we both looked up towards the sky, it was beautiful. The stars were so bright, I wish I could go out into space and just forget about everything here on earth. “Alex, look a shooting star!” Vanessa shouts while she pointed at the fireball flying across the sky. “Let’s make a wish.” We both closed our eyes and wished, when we opened my eyes I screamed, I wasn’t expecting to see my sister standing over top of me. She just rolled her eyes at me, “I can’t believe you two are lying naked on the ground.”

“We have underwear on!” I said as I started to laugh. “Please you call that underwear.” Stephanie stated. “Ahh Steph, I think his little low rise boxer briefs are cute.” Vanessa said as she stood up off the ground. “Yeah Yeah, you two help me up please.” They both walked around me and gave me one hand to help pull me up. As I got to my feet I stumbled a bit to get my balance but soon after the three of us were off back to the party. “Stephanie, you know you’re the only person here wearing shoes, let alone high heels?” I laughed. “And did you notice I’m the only one who looks good at this party?” She stated as I shook my head. As we reached the house I felt as if someone was staring at me. We I looked behind me I saw a girl, she looked a little older maybe in her early twenties, staring at us as we walked into the house. I could have sworn she was wearing a dress one minute and the next she was wearing underwear like all the other girls. “Vanessa remind me that I need to go get new contacts.” “Sure will babe!” She said as she walked over to the drink table. The party went on for a few more hours; I just sat on the couch with my sister and Vanessa, nursing a beer. Everyone

was either passed out or up stairs hooking up. Most likely a night they would not want to remember. I saw Derek and Scott walk outside; I followed behind ready to confront them both. I walked around the pool, I felt a touch on my shoulder. It wasn’t a normal touch, soft but electrical. It was the girl I saw either. “Hello, I can I ask you a favor?” The girl asked me with a sweet smile. I knew I had to still be buzzed; I thought I could almost look through her. “I’m kind of busy right now.” I said as I started to walk away. “Please, it’s very important; I’m talking about life or death.” Her smile vanished as she became serious. “Yeah sure, what do you need?” I didn’t know what it was about but the look on her face made me want to help her, she seemed really upset. “OH THANK YOU!” She said all peppy again. All I did was shake my head. “I just need you to follow me and I can explain what I need you to do when we get there.” She was so bubbly it was scary. This girl went from sad to crazy in 2.5 seconds. “Let me tell my sister and my friend that I’ll be back.” Just in case she was here to kill me at least someone would know I went with her.

“Sure, if they want they can come with, we might need their help.” She replied. I walked inside and saw them still sitting on the couch talking with a group of people from school. I was happy that Stephanie put her differences aside with Vanessa and that the two of them could get along. Well let’s just say better than what they were they still fight with one another. “Hey, um the girl by the pool needs help, I’m going to go help her. Want to come with?” “Sure, I’m kind of ready to go.” Vanessa stated as she stood up. “Where are you two going?” Stephanie asked. “Someone needs our help; you can come if you want?” I replied “Na I’ll stay here. Have fun!” She said as she went back into her conversation with the group. Vanessa and I walked outside put to the girl with our clothes and started to put them on. As we both looked back up towards the girl she was wearing her dress again. I know for a fact that she didn’t have her dress anywhere near her just a minute ago. “I’m Vanessa and you are?”

“My name is Nori.” “I’m Alex by the way.” I said with a wave. She turned and started to walk towards woods we came out of earlier. The whole time we followed Nori to our destination me and Vanessa kept giving each other strange looks. We had no idea where we were going and we had been walking for fifteen minutes. We came to a clearing in the woods; it wasn’t much of a clearing more like something had crashed. The trees where broken and a little brunt, the ground was turned up from whatever had crashed it. “We’re here.” Nori stated as she stopped and moved her hand around showing us our destination.

“Alex you think this is where that shooting star landed, this looks like it was just done?” Vanessa whispered to me. “I don’t know looks a little big for a shooting star.” “Oh this wasn’t made by a meteoroid. There wasn’t a meteoroid even in the atmosphere when we entered. So you must have seen us.” Both of us looked at Nori, there was no way she could have heard us and plus we were freaked by her statement. “What are you talking about? Seen us? Entering the atmosphere?” Vanessa said in a freaked out tone.

“Oh my apologies, I forget that humans are not use to these kind of encounters.” Nori stated as she walked closer to us.

“I’m sorry but you are crazy!” I said backing away from Nori.

“Please I need your help or he is going to die!” Nori said reaching out for us.

“Who is going to die?” Vanessa asked.

“Troroth.” Nori said looking down at the ground.

“What do we have to do?” I asked ready to run away from this situation.

“I am damaged my hologram, is barely functioning.”

“I KNEW I COULD SEE THROUGH YOU!” I said interrupting her.

“I thought I was really buzzed.” Vanessa added. “So you’re a hologram.”

“I’m an AI (Artificial Intelligence) meaning that my programming is allowed to expand, allowing me to learn and adapt beyond my basic parameters. Unlike other programs known as VI (Virtual Intelligence) they are only there to assist the user and process data. Though they appear to be

intelligent, they aren't actually self aware like me.” Nori stated proudly.

“And Troroth he is endangered?” I asked.

“Yes, there was a problem when our ship exited warp and we ended up crashing on your planet, I was able to activate the jamming program to block radar detection but was unsuccessful in clocking during our entry, which is why you thought it was a shooting star.”

Vanessa and I stood there shocked, we were talking to a computer program and on top of that an alien computer program. “Troroth was in a suspended animation during the warp, now I am unable to wake him up and it has to be done manually and that is where you come in since my hologram is damaged.”

“Okay just tell us what we need to do.” I stated

“Thank you!” Nori said with a smile then she turned around facing the crater. “Deactivating ships clocking in five seconds.”

Vanessa and I stood still as the ship slowly became visible to us, it was a small ship but you could tell it could pack a punch in a fight.

If I get reviews I will post a new chapter. So if you don’t mind please review. THANK YOU! Abovetheodd@gmail.com
