Significant Other Part 1
(Author's note: If you're looking for a quick fix, and an easy session, you've come to the wrong story. This story is meant to touch your heart, not your hard on. Before we begin, I just want to let you all know that this is not my first attempt at writting, although it is my first attempt at an erotic story. It was aout four o'clock in the afternoon and I was preparing myself for the next week. See, it was March break and I was taking a trip on my own to New York City. I would be spending the week there, in a hotel that was well known to most celebrities. Unfortunately, the time I'll be at the hotel, I did not recieve any indication that any celebrities would be there. So basically, I'd be there with every other 'normal' person.
Before I move on, I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Rick, and I'm a 20 year old *openly gay college student. I live in London, Ontario and I've been looking forward to this trip for years!
About 2 hours later, I figured I would go downstairs and grab a bite to eat. Of course I know that I would probably get another lecture from my mother about how carefully I need to be in NYC, and how if I'm not careful something horrible could happen and so on. I'd heard it all week, and I knew it wasn't about to stop now. I made my way downstairs and quickly dodged the living room where my parents were sitting and slowly crept into the kitchen. I pulled a container out from the fridge. I opened, and noticed that it's leftover's from last night, and put it into the microwave. As soon as I shut the microwave door, my mother walked into the kitchen.
"I thought that was you," she said look at me with those 'I've got another lecture for you' eyes.
"Mom, I've heard it. Save it. I'll be fine. I have more then enough money, I know how to dial 911, and I'm almost positive there's more then enough people going to be standing around me at almost all hours of the day and night. So don't worry. I'm not *really going to be alone."
She gave me a look, then sat down at the kitchen table and started to clear it for the poker game her and dad were having tonight. The microwave finished warming up the leftovers, so I removed the container, grabbed a fork, and headed to the basement.
The basement is where I normally spent many hours of the day that I was actually at home. Seeing as my room was very small, most of my belongings were here in the basement. My stereo, my tv, my computer, and my exercise equipment. I head bought myself some weights last summer, and have been using them every day since. I sat back on the couch and flipped on the tv. I began watching the weather network, so that I would be able to somewhat be ready for what weather I'd be landing into in NYC. Everything seemed to be ok. I quickly finished off my food, and before I knew it, I was falling asleep. It was only about eight o'clock in the evening, but I knew that I needed to wake up at about nine tomorrow morning, so that made me even more tired. Eventually, I fell asleep on the couch in the basement, as I almost always do.
I awoke to my phone ringing at about eight thirty the next morning. It was a half hour before I had even planned on waking up, but that's life.
"Hello?"
"Hi Rick. It's me. I just wanted to say.." the voice began to say as I hung up.
The voice on the phone was recognizable to me. It was my ex boyfriend Joe. It's been 3 months since I broke it off with him, and prior to that we had been together almost 4 years. I went to his apartment late one night, as I almost always did, and I found him there lying naked on the living room floor with some other guy. It was clear that Joe was completely drunken out of his skull, but that's no exscuse. I immediately took his apartment keys off my keychain and threw them at him. I left, and I haven't spoken to him since, nor was I about to today. Perhaps, I may never speak to him again.
I stood up and stretched a bit, then began my morning routine with my weights. I spent the next half hour doing so, then jumped in the shower. I was to be at the airport by ten o'clock. As soon as I was done my shower, I went upstairs to where my room originally is, and changed into some new clothes I had bought specifically for today. I then went down into the kitchen and made myself some coffee.
"Good morning dear." my mother said as she entered the kitchen. "You all ready for your trip?"
"Yes mom. I can't wait." I said still awaiting my first coffee.
She began to clear up the kitchen table, as she had left it a complete mess from the night before.
As I waited for the coffee pot to leak out it's last few drops, I began to think about the gorgeous men I could meet in NYC, and how much fun I would have. Before I could disappear into a complete daydream, the coffee pot clicked. I poured myself a cup and head into the living room. I slowly sipped away at my coffee trying to indulge myself back into my daydream, when my sister came downstairs and plopped herself down on the couch rather harshly. She grabbed my hand, and with the most saddest eyes I had ever seen said, "Take me with you. You can't leave me here. Please!"
I laughed at her.
"It's not funny! I'm serious. Mom and dad are going to drive me completely insane!"
"Maybe for your birthday." I said.
"Oh god. That's like over 6 months away!" she screamed.
"Well, by then you'll be 18 and you can do whatever the hell you want. Right?"
"Yeah I guess. But I still want to go with you now." she smiled, "Besides. Your going to see all these gorgeous guys, and I'm going to be stuck here with these 40 year old should-be grandparents."
I laughed again, "No worries. I'll be back in no time."
"Sure. You'll probably meet someone there, and end up moving there for good." she said losing her smile.
"Think of it this way. If I do find someone, which I probably won't, I don't even know if in a week I can find someone that easily and just click fast enough for me to want to *move there, then you'll have a place to stay if you ever want to move out!" I laughed hard.
"Oh sure joke! It can happen. Well, promise this, if you see any celebrity's, you'll run over to them and get me an autograph?"
"Sure." I said.
Then she gave me a big hug and kiss and said goodbye. She ran upstairs and locked herself in her room. I can't really blame her. My parents came be a bunch of loser should-be grandparents sometimes. Most of the time they're ok, but sometimes they just ride on your nervs, without even knowing it.
I brought down my last duffle bag and kissed my parents goodbye.
"I'll call you when I get there." I yelled as I ran out to my car.
"You better!" my mother warned.
I was going to drive my car to the airport, then rent a car in NYC when I got there.
I got to the airport and handed in my bags and then went into the sitting area. My plane wasn't going to be boarding for at least another hour. I had bought a magazine the day before so that I could read on the plane, but I was just too bored, so I began reading it in the waiting area. It was the latest XY. A gay magazine. I flipped through the pages and occasionally stoped and read some articles.
I guess an hour must have passed, because the p.a. system began to buzz, "Flight 54 to NYC now boarding. Please Enjoy your flight!"
I stood up and made my way to the designated gate. I handed my ticket to the flight attendant, and boarded the plane. I found my seat, sat down, and buckled my seat belt. Once everyone was boarded, the flight attendant and pilot did their usual routine, and I jsut ignored them reading my magazine.
A few hours later, we landed in NYC, and I was now collecting my luggage. I walked over to the booth where you rent cars, and began filling out a form.
"Hi there sir. How may I help you today?" a man with piercing blue eyes approached me at the stand.
"I'm great thanks. I wondering if I could possibly rent a car?" I asked.
"Are you 21 years of age sir?"
"No I'm not."
"I'm sorry sir, but you must 21 years of age to rent a car." he said giving me a dirty look.
I knew this would happen, but I already had a back up plan. I walked over to the pay phone, and called my parents.
"Hello?" my dad answered.
"Hi dad, it's me. I've just landed, and I'm at the airport. Is everything ready?"
"Yes it is. Be careful son. This is my ass on the line." he scolded.
"I know dad. Tell mom I got here ok. I won't be able to call later, as I'll probably be out all night."
"Ok son. Have a good trip."
"Bye dad. Love you guys." and I hung up.
I went and sat down in one of the many restaurants in the airport and continuesely kept my eye on the man at the car rental booth. Eventually, after about 10 minutes, he leaned over and said something to the lady beside him and walked off towards the front doors. 'A smoke break' I thought to myself. I then walked over to the booth and spoke with the lady.
"Hi there sir. How can I help you today?"
"Hi. My name is Mr. Krondor, and I called a few hours ago to reserve a car? I believe I gave you all of the information, including credit card # on the phone?" I said, hoping it was this woman my father had spoken to.
"Oh yes I remember! Welcome Mr Krondor. Thank you for choosing us! If you'll just sign here, I'll be more then happy to give you your car." she said smiling and handing me a piece of paper.
I signed it, and retrieved my keys from this obviously clueless woman. I walked out into the parking lot, and a man brought around my rental car. It was a 1999 Volvo C70 Convertible. 'Perfect' I thought to myself, 'exactly what I wanted.'. The man noded his head at me and opened the trunk for me. I loaded my bags in, handed him a $5 and hopped into the drivers seat. I slowly crept away from the airport, and began my short trip to the hotel.
When arrived at the hotel, the valet attendant walked over to me and handed me a ticket. I handed him the keys, popped the trunk, and awaited for a bell boy to come and help me. Eventually one came, and I proceeded to the front desk.
"Hello there sir. How may I be of assistance to you today?" a short chubby woman from behind the desk asked me.
"Hi. I have reservations."
"Your name please?"
"Krondor. Rick, Krondor."
"Ok.." she said typing away on the keyboard to her computer.
"Ah ok here it is. Please sign this and I'll get you your keys." she smiled.
I signed the piece of paper and she handed me the keys the my hotel room.
"Thank you ma'am." I said while walking to the elevator along witht he bell boy.
I was on the 5th floor, and when I got to my room I asked the bell boy to leave my bags here and that I would bring them in myself. I handed him a $10 and he was mor then happy to oblige.
I put my key into the hole and opened it. My god what a gorgeous room. It was mostly Old Victorian style, but there was some modern touches made to this place. It had a double bed, a bathroom, a kitchen, an almost full entertainment system, minus the CD/Tape decks. Of course they were all behind a very think glass door that was locked, but there was a remote for everything. I dropped my bags onto the floor and jumped ont he bed. I sprawled out and just lay there staring at the ceiling, and enjoying the fact that I was alone, and in another city.
