I intended this story to be my third book but felt that it had run out of steam after only 35,000 words. I enjoyed writing it, and was even reasonably happy editing it but it was still too short to publish so here it is after nearly a year sat in my files, posted as a long story. I hope you enjoy it and will let me know if you have time.

Short synopsis.

Silent Waters is an American Navajo Indian/White, half breed, Robert Maitland is a wealthy Englishman. The two become lovers and this is their story. It takes place, mainly, in a Spanish Village called Mojacar, (pronounced mo-hac-a), and the surrounding area. There is plenty of loving sex, and loads of very raunchy sex, but all of it between young men who have great affection and love for one another.

There are a couple of nasties in it that I felt were needed to balance all the love.

The Prologue is quite short but Chapter 1 will follow within two days. The story is already complete so there will be no long waits for new chapters.

(My partner and I had a home in the village for nearly 20 years and loved it, living there full time for two years and then visiting at least four times a year before giving it up to come and live in Antigua.)

SILENT WATERS

Prologue

Robert Maitland almost cringed as he came clear of the airport terminal building. He had forgotten how miserable and cold a February morning in England could be. Working in the Middle East and vacationing in Thailand or the Philippines had dulled his memories of England. He had come home this time because an American Attorney had been insistent that he needed to talk to him face to face on a matter of great importance. Robert could not even begin to imagine what the mystery could be.

The Cumberland Hotel at Marble Arch was the only one he remembered from his previous trips to England so he booked in there and arranged to meet the Attorney the next morning in the coffee shop. He spent a miserable day in the hotel not wanting to go out in the cold. He would have liked to walk along Oxford St. to his old hunting grounds and have a coffee with Alonso at Café Real but not in this temperature. Perhaps he would before scuttling back to Dubai and the sunshine.

The Attorney arrived on time and over coffee told Robert some good news.

"Do you remember your Grandfather Maitland's younger brother Mr. Maitland?" was how the conversation started.

"Only very vaguely Mr. Jacobs. He was a bachelor who went off to the New World to seek his fortune when I was very young. Until my Grandfather died I had snippets of information about Uncle Fred. If I remember correctly he remained a bachelor and worked in the oilfields in Texas."

"That is all correct which effectively proves your provenance as his grand nephew. Could you just confirm this for me by letting me see your passport?"

Robert went back to his room for the passport still none the wiser, except that it obviously had to do with Great Uncle Fred.

The Attorney checked the passport and then produced a sheath of papers for Robert and told him.

"When your Grand Uncle died all he specified in his will was that his fortune should go to his eldest male relative on his side of the family. You are the oldest surviving male Mr. Maitland. As you are aware I'm sure your father was the eldest son of your Great Uncle's eldest brother. There are no males remaining carrying the name Maitland except you and two younger cousins so it all belongs to you."

"Very interesting Mr. Jacobs, but what exactly belongs to me?"

"The figures I have current yesterday show about 2-1/4 billion dollars in oil revenues from your uncles oil field and revenue of approximately 20 million dollars a month from the present output."

Robert nearly had a heart attack.

"This is a wind up isn't it, you can't be serious."

"Oh I am serious Mr. Maitland, I have spent over a year researching your family to make sure you are the rightful heir."

When he had calmed down Robert contacted his own Lawyer in town and set the wheels in motion to take control of his fortune. Mr. Jacob's account amounted to nearly five million dollars, which was a monstrous sum but Robert paid it in full with a million-dollar bonus. His next action was to resign from his job in Dubai and his third action was to settle one hundred million pounds into trust funds for each of his younger cousins who he hadn't even known existed. Well he could afford to be generous, a turn of fate had made him the eldest by only a couple of years, so now at 27 years old he was as rich as Croesus.

Over the next year Robert bought a Castle in Spain, a beautiful sailing yacht and organised his life to look after his money and have fun.

But it wasn't fun. For all his money Robert was lonely. He wanted a soul mate, but all of the men he went to bed with were transient, none appealed to him as long term partners, some were obvious gold diggers, others were just too shallow and uninteresting to hold his attention for long.

This was the state of affairs when he returned to England for a meeting with his financial advisors at the end of his first year as a multi billionaire. =========================================================================== Next part very soon where you will meet Silent Waters.
