new scene..

The next night, we were in the dressing room, getting ready for our concert, when somebody knocked.

"Yello?" I opened the door. "Oh, hey Bri!"

"Hiya." He said. "Mind if we join ya `fore we take our seats?"

"Sure." I opened the door to allow him and Nick in.

"Hi." Brian said to the others.

"Hi." Jc said.

"Hello," Lance said. Chris nodded at them, and Joey didn't take notice.

"So, what's the show going to be like?" Nick asked me.

I shrugged. "Singin' and dancin' and laser lights. Basic boy-band concert."

He nodded seriously. "Yup, we know all about that."

"Brian?" Lance called.

"Yo!" Brian looked around to him.

"Do you know Justin's gay?"

Brian blinked. "Um...well, if I didn't, I do now."

"Did you?"

"Um...uh..." he glanced at me. I nodded. "Yeah. He told me." B-Rok admitted.

"You won't tell anyone?" Lance asked.

"Naw...but, uh, Nick kinda didn't know until you just brought that up..." Brian pointed out.

"You're gay?" Nick asked me.

"Um...yup."

"Oh. I had no clue." He nodded. "Well, I guess I could kinda tell, cause I can tell when another man is gay...and let me tell you," he whispered in my ear. "You and Brian and I are not the only gay ones here."

"Huh?" I said. I looked at Brian, who nodded to confirm.

"C'mon, we gotta get ready." Jc said. "We'll see you guys in the audience?" he looked at Brian and Nick.

"Yup." They nodded. The skee-daddled and *Nsync went on stage.

After the show, Brian and Nick showed up in the dressing room for a sec to say g'bye, and then they had to leave. Brian promised to call me tomorrow about what they were doing and if I could come.

Us *Nsync people went back to our hotel. We gathered in Chris's room, and ordered pizza.

"Well," Lance said to me. "Seems like you and them Backstreet Boys are getting awfully close."

I dropped my eyes and shrugged. I wasn't supposed to talk unless I was told to.

"Got an answer for that?" Chris said.

"They're my friends." I said simply.

"Oh reeeeally." Lance said.

"Friends with benefits." Joey snickered.

The pizza came and they continued razzing me. For the most part I ignored them except when they demanded commentary. Brian said I should be mad at them and turn them in for assault and battery. He wouldn't take it if it was him. He struck me as the type of person who would give anyone a mouthful and a half of words back if they said anything to him. He wouldn't let anyone push him around. He was a really cool guy. I wish I had his confidence. Then again, his bandmates, his best friends/brothers, didn't beat the hell out of him and make him feel so bad and sad he felt like crying, wanted to cry. Sigh.

The phone woke me up the next morning. My neck ached. I had fallen asleep sitting upright in a chair. Real bright, Timberlake.

"Mmmph...yello?" I answered groggily.

"Hi Justin!"

"Ugh! Too early for cheerfulness!" I groaned at Brian.

"What? Early? Open your eyes boyo, it's ten-thirty!"

"That's early to me!" I protested.

He laughed. "Willing to go somewhere fun with us today?"

"Mmmm...where and when?"

"Um...well, we're probably going either swimming or having a picnic. If it's swimming, um, probably shortly after lunch. Picnic, an hour before lunchtime."

"Why not do both? Get the most out of your day off." I suggested, while yawning. "Go swimming, break for picnic lunch, play basketball or something, them more swimming."

"Cool idea. Why didn't I think of that?" he said rhetorically. "Hang on a sec." He spoke quietly to the others in his band while I yawned again and tried (unsuccessfully) to crack my neck. "Justin?"

"Yelp."

"Yup, that's what we'll do." B-Rok said cheerfully. "Want to come?"

"Sure. We have a day off until 9:30 pm, when we take a flight to Atlanta."

"Great. We'll pick you up in an hour. Bring some swimwear, clothes, sunscreen, a towel, and if I were you, I'd bring some money j/i/c. You never know when you'll need it."

"Touche." I nodded. (Like he could really see me-shows how truly awake I was, huh.) "Okay. One hour. I'll be ready."

"Okay. See you then." He said, and ended the call. I placed the receiver back on the cradle, yawning again.

"See who when?" Jc said, coming in.

"See B-Rok in an hour." I scratched my stomach and glanced around for my suitcase to change.

"Oh really?" Jc said. "And just where do you think you're going?"

"Swimming."

"Swimming? Who's going swimming?" Lance came into Jc's and my room.

"Well, apparently, Justin's going with the Backstreet Boys." Jc folded his arms.

I picked up my suitcase and pulled out my trunks, a t-shirt and shorts, some sunblock and a credit card. "What's the big deal?" I said.

"Why do you want to go?" Chris snapped.

I shrugged. "Something fun to do. Brian invited me and I want to go."

"Yeah, so you can see all the guys half naked." Lance snapped.

"No, because I wan to do something with my friends." I said.

"Ooh, and now he's getting mouthy!" Lance said. I sighed.

"I want to go," I said, slowly and calmly. "I'm going, and-" I stopped short. It was pretty bold of me to say I'm going anyway, and I was actually about to say, I'm going and you can't stop me. What a disaster that would have been.

"And what?" Joey prodded.

"Nothing." I mumbled. I looked up. "Look," I said. "I just want to go and have some fun with my friends. I'm not attracted to them and they aren't towards me. We're just normal guys. Brian asked me if I wanted to come, and he doesn't have a problem with me. Hw wants to be my friend. He called me and invited me and I already said I was going. And I am."

"Well, don't you sound sure of yourself!" Lance said.

"Well, you're not going by yourself, that's for sure." Chris said. "Call him back. One of us is going with you."

I sighed. "You guys don't have to chaperone me, you know."

"Oh yes we do." Joey said.

"Who's going with him?" Lance said. "I'm not, I'm already busy."

"I went last time." Jc announced.

"I'm busy." Chris said.

"Me too." Joey seconded.

Jc sighed. "Then I guess I'll go."

"No, you don't have to." Lance said. "He doesn't even have to go."

"It's okay." Jc said. "I haven't gone swimming in a long time anyway."

"Fine." Chris said. "Justin, call Brian and ask him if Jc can go."

"What is he says no?"

He kicked me really hard. "Do what you're told and don't talk back!"

"Ow." I said. "And I wasn't talking back. I was just asking. What if there's no room?"

"Then you don't go either, stupid." Lance said.

How encouraging, I thought as I dialed his cell phone number.

"Nick's discount bras, you got the boulders, we got the holders." A voice said.

"What???"

He laughed. "Sorry. Nick here, can I help you?"

"Um, is Brian Littrell around?"

"Sure. I answered his phone, didn't I? Justin, that you?"

"Yup."

"Okay, hey. Here's Brok."

"Yello?"

"Brok?" I said, puzzled.

He laughed. "Oh, yeah. That's just one of my two dozen nicknames. It's B-Rok, without the hyphen. All one word."

"Oh. Cool."

"Sup Justin?"

"Um...Jc wants to know if he can come too." I said, which earned me a dirty look from all four of my fellow *Nsync-ers.

"Sure he can. The more the merrier." Brian said.

"Super. Still gonna get us in 45 minutes or do you need more time?"

"Nope, we'll be there at 11:30 am. Remind Jc to bring his swimwear, sunscreen, towel, clothes and j/i/c money." He said.

"Okay. We'll be ready. Bye." I hung up. "What?" I said to the others.

"Thanks a lot, now you made me sound desperate." Jc said darkly.

"Thought you'd get away with it?" Lance said, hitting me in the mouth. I didn't say anything. Chris and Joey hit me in the mouth also. Jc just gave me a dirty look. I sighed.

"When are we being picked up?" Jc asked me.

"Eleven-thirty. We're supposed to bring swimwear, a set of clothes, sunblock, a towel and just-in-case money." I said.

"I have to go. Bye everyone except Bastard." Lance said, leaving.

"We'll go too. Bye Jc." Chris and Joey left.

Jc gathered up his trunks and clothes and went into the bathroom to change. I changed quickly in the main room. I put shorts and a tank top on over my trunks. I put a card (for money) in my pocket and put water proof sunblock on. I found a towel. Now I was set. I glanced at the clock. 11 o'clock. Still a ½ hour to go. I waited.

Jc came out, wearing trunks and a t-shirt. "Got any sunscreen I could use?"

I tossed him the bottle. "Here. Its waterproof."

He put some on, and tossed it back to me. "They're coming in twenty minutes?"

"Yup. Want to wait downstairs?"

"Whatever."

We went down to the lobby and in 15 minutes, a limo pulled up in front. Brian got out and came inside.

sorry so short and sorry it took so long! will be back with more later! bye!
