Star struck

Part 1

This happened, well... is still happening to me. Names are made up to protect our ids, the rest is all true. If you're too young or your ethics strong enough that can't tolerate women falling in love with each other, then find something else to read, please. It goes like this...

5:30pm Day 1

At 34 I am a teacher/researcher with grad work in social psych and adolescence, PhD on its way sometime soon. Been married for 8 years to the same guy. Two kids, boy and girl, great job. I also belong to a theater troupe and do anything with them from producing to playwriting to cleaning up toilets. So here I was on a Thursday night rehearsal with my theater pals, quite an eclectic but tight group of people. We were trying to learn some lines, which takes me forever since English is not my first language, when Brian, our director comes into the room with a really excited expression on his face.

"Guys, guess what?" He gave us no time to try to answer such a profound question, "Lynn's here"

We all answered with a collective "Huh?"

"Lynn... you know Lynn Stuart from the sitcom... the SYNDICATED sitcom about a bunch of friends that..."

At this point we all knew who our surprise guest was... not because she was a young, gorgeous TV actress (not a star yet, but she'll be sometime soon) but 'cause she was Brian's old college buddy's little sister who used to have a crush on him...or was it the other way round? Anyhow, in comes Lynn, a strikingly attractive redhead by all standards, even if you're not into redheads or into women for that matter. She's wearing jeans, spandex tight white tshirt, a hooded faded college zip up blue sweatshirt, sneakers and a ponytail. She looks younger than 26, her confessed age. She says a shy hi and sits with us on the floor. Brian starts telling us how Lynn came to the East Coast to visit some friends on a short shooting hiatus and stopped by for a couple of days. He thought we would be interested in sharing some of her experiences and of course we warmly welcomed her. It was a fun evening of sharing and laughing and at some point one of us suggested we go out grab something to eat, which we did. I called home to check on the kids and told Tom, my hubby, that I would be late.

At dinner, Mexican, we just had a really great, laid back time, a little booze, smoked some, all fine and fun. People started leaving and at some point just Lynn, Brian and I were left on the table. We talked some more and when Brian left for the toilet Lynn chose a chair closer to me.

"I haven't had such a relaxed time in what feels like forever", she said.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yup... this may sound presumptuous, but it ain't... my looks or my job seem to always get on my way, sometime helping, but most of the times spooking people away... it's like a barrier that won't allow 'em to be their true selves... I don't seem to, like, find any regular people anymore, and I'm just soooooo grateful to Brian and you guys to just open your arms and welcome me into your lives."

"Well... I'm glad you're enjoying your time with us..." I replied, then thought that maybe she would like to meet my family, being sure my kids would LOVE to have a TV star share dinner with them. So invited her over.

"Oh, really? Thanks, Isabel, I'd love to, but only if we split the cooking".

"You can cook?" I asked in surprise

"Yup, and I'm pretty good at Vegetarian, Thai and some other ethnic foods"

"Well, I stink in the kitchen, so now I'm even happier to have you for dinner, let's make it 6:30 tomorrow night." She agreed, Brian finally came back and we called it a night.

While I was riding the bus home I got a text message on my cel phone from Lynn asking me to join her grocery shopping at the Community Market the following morning at 6:45. For some strange reason that slips my mind I promptly agreed.

6:00am Day 2

My alarm clock starts buzzing that incredibly miserable sound it makes and I wake up in a second flat. Man, I hate that sound, but for some reason, even if its cold and dark both outside and in, I'm excited to start my day with such a weird task at hand. Must be just 'cause I'm breaking my routine and that feels good, I say to myself while lathering and shaving most of my body parts under a hot shower.

I decide to drive downtown and on my way realize we didn't agree on a specific place to meet and that marketplace is huge. Oh, man, how would I hate to wake up at 6pm and go through all this trouble not to find her. Then I'm thinking "Hey! Wait minute!! Why am I so excited about getting really fresh greens, gingeroot and good soy sauce? Is that really what I'm looking for on this trip? What's this about, Isabel?" As I'm musing my eyes find a good parking spot. Next, as I turn the engine off I catch the prettiest reddish mane I've ever seen lit by a nearby lampost just atthe corner. I walked to her and, having sensed my presence, I guess, or my scent as she later told me, she turned around wearing the best smile I've seen to this day. She hugged me for a long time and kissed me on the cheek. I was so stunned at all her demonstrations that said nothing. Then noticed a bag of Krispy Kremes in her left hand, a rarity in this part of the country, and she noticed and smiled.

"Hey, gotta have 'em for breakfast... the only place in town where you can buy these is at this very spot", with this she took me by the arm and we started eating and walking through all kinds of smells, flavors and sights.

This is one gorgeous, happy gal, I have to tell you. People she's never seen before and that don't know her at all just smile at her. She is that gorgeous and that cool.

Me, on the other hand, I'm a third generation immigrant. My grandparents were Dutch and Spanish, my parents grew up and met in South America, where I was born and raised until my early 20's. I finished college in the States, went on to grad school, found a job and a husband and decided this is where I wanted to settle. I'm 5'8'', dark brown hair, clear blue eyes, bronze skin in the summer never too pale in the winter, fit and healthy but never ever have I been as thin as I wanted. After my daughter was born I decided I would be happy with my chubbish figure somewhere between a size 8 and a 10. So, what I'm saying is, even if I'm not bad looking, I've never seen people actually spinning (yup, that wasn't mere turning) their heads to stare at me. Of course it wasn't me but my pal Lynn.

Even more amazing was that all her attention was focused on me. She wanted to please me, she wanted me to feel special and I sure did. She introduced me to amazing tastes... in amazing ways. She picked this one exotic fruit took the top off with her perfect teeth in a slow sensuous move of her lips (by the way, told ya she wears the best smile, right? Well, it's surrounded by chubby, round, naturally red always moist lips) and poured all the juices the started flowing in and around my mouth. Quite a sight, I must say. And don't think 9 and a half weeks, but rather Gerber baby foods! But we did have a fun time. In turn, I introduced her to a variety of mangoes and she decided to make a green mango salad for dinner.

The next time I checked the time it was almost 7:30! I had lunches to pack, kids to send to school and a job to attend. I hurriedly said bye, tried to give her a quick peck on the cheek but at that very moment she turned her face closer to my lips and mine landed on hers. I blushed and left in a rush.

10:12 am

I'm sitting in my desk, bored for the very first time in my adult life, checking the time every five minutes. My eyes get lost on my favorite poster, El Bosco's Garden of Eden, just across from my chair... and I drift away thinking of... thinking of the smell of that red hair, the taste of those red lips, the sound of that deep and velvety voice... "Girl! Stop that! You are a married, focused, hard working woman who happens not to be working!" I say to myself. Phone rings just then. I pick up, it's Tom.

"Hi, baby... yeah, really early but had a great time... I'll be home in time to clean up and get ready... get some red wine, will you, please? Thanks, hon...I know you really wanna meet her, she's great! ...yeah, Brian's also coming... see ya! Love ya too."

Yeah, I love Tom. He's a great guy, good sense of humor, hard working, runs an electronic parts and repair business, fantastic dad, fine lover... too much into sports for my taste. Not into reading, theater or dancing. Lately he's been trying to convince me to spice up our sex life, but hasn't gone into detail yet.

Phone rings again. This time it's Brian.

"Hi, Isabel... you seem to have made quite an impression on Lynnie, haven't you?

"Really?" I asked in surprise, "Have I?"

"Well, I guess so, she wants to know everything about you and that's exactly why I called. I wanna know how much do you want me to tell her"

"I have no secrets", I reply still not getting it. "You can tell her anything you want... and we're starting to sound as third graders so bye, Brian, gotta work."

"I think you're interested" said Brian in a teasing voice

"You're right. I'm interested in grading a pile of tests the size of your curiosity. Besides, I thought your gaydar only worked among your own gender!", ok I'm sorta pissed now.

Brian laughs hard, "Wrong, honey. Welcome home".

"And you can go straight to hell", I answer as I slam the phone on its craddle.

Man! Why am I angry? At whom?

3:30

Time to get a couple of things from the grocery store, go home wait for the kids to arrive and tidy up the place. I didn't get any work done today at the office. Shit! I'm obsessed with... a woman. I've obsessed over men before, but a woman that I just met yesterday? Eight years my junior? C'mon, Isabel, back to normal mode, PLEASE!

My kids naturally bring me to normal mode, they are noisy and messy and I love 'em just that way. Today I made them do some housework 'cause a TV star guest was cooking for us, as my little girl put it.

5:30

Tom comes home, I'm kinda hysteric by now, all my cleaning barely shows, there seems to be more soiled pots than pots in my kitchen, the floor will never be white again, I can't find enough forks to set the table, forgot to get flowers.

"Baby... slow down... what's wrong?"

I complain.

"Well, that's OK.It's your friend who's coming, right? Not royalty, not my mom, so keep still. You go get some flowers I'll finish up here. And, please get the wine? I forgot!"

"See? That's just like you... just when I'm thinking how great you are you tell me you forgot the wine! I could kill ya for this!"

6:15

I come back to a clean and tidy house. Of course I don't check under the couch! Still Tom and the kids did a great job. I arrange the flowers in various bottles of different sizes I keep just for that, light the candles, get a B.B. King cd going to set the mood. Now I'll just take a shower and get dressed... dressed? What am I wearing? Shit! I so hate being predictable!

Just after fastening my bra the bell rings, Tom and the kids get it and I have to rush. What to wear, what to wear... That precise instant, still wearing only my white lace thong and bra, Lynn comes into the room dressed in all black, showing her gorgeous (and did I mention generous?) cleavage. And that red hair!

"Oh, I'm sorry, Isabel... I was looking for the restroom", I see a sparkle of something in her eye. She must not be that sorry since she hasn't moved an inch yet, and worse, keeps on staring.

"Uh, hi, Lynn..." I stutter, "Bathroom's the next door to the left, l'll be out of here in a minute."

"No rush." She stares for a looooong time. "You look great"

"Gee, thanks. But I feel kinda exposed here." I'm shaky. She gets closer, her finger moves along the center of my cleavage and up the side of the bra. "This is pretty" I feel as if my stiff nipples are gonna break the material any minute now. Lynn grabs my shaky self from the nape of my head as she kisses my neck ever so slowly. "Love that smell". Then she brings me as close as possible to her lips without touching. I can smell the sweetness of her breath, my pulse must be close to heart attack level. "Can I kiss you, Isabel?" That you don't ask, you don't answer either. Out of I don't know where I pushed my lips that extra milimeter that was separating us and kissed her deeply, just one long, warm, sweet, wet, delicious kiss. Then we separated just to look into each other's eyes for a second or two, reading the sparkle and knowing we weren't wrong, sure this was no ordinary first kiss, and that next kiss was glorious, tongues probing, laced in the taste of each other's intimacy, each other's hunger...

Bang on the door.

"Mom!" a little boy's voice, "have you seen our new friend Lynn-the-movie-star? She's gone, I think."

I'm dizzy, I'm wet, I'm bouncing out of myself. I never ever, not even in my wildest dreams, plans or nightmares thought I would like experincing with a woman, I'm a man lover, I've had at least 6 male lovers, maybe 7 (I was way drunk to know for sure) I just love men, always have, always will. So, what's happening here?

"She's in here, honey, I'm showing Lynn around" I weakily answer as I chose an orange hippish shirt with a deep V shaped neckline and brown and red embroidery, khaki jeans and sandals.

"Coming, sweetie, are you a good cook's helper? Can you pour?", says Lynn while kissing my neck one more loving time. And that's how she left me, trembling, trying to stupidly figure out how to fix my hair.

End of part one.
