Super Villain 3
Chapter 3
"Cameron!"
Scan-Man is calling me by government name. It's been so long since I've heard that name. I don't know what comes over me. I don't know why I'm running towards him like a madman at that moment. I run right past the goddam robots that are keeping him prisoner. I jump through the web of chains that keep Scan-Man tied up.
I'm hugging him before I know it. I'm hugging him through chains and all. I could care less. Right now I'm just beyond happy. Right now all I care about is the fact that my friend is alive.
"You're alive," I say.
Why am I crying?
"You're ok. Have they hurt you? Have they HURT YOU!" Scan-Man asks as though he could possibly do something to them even if they were hurting me.
"I'm fine..." I assure him.
Scan-Man on the other hand isn't fine. He looks somewhat beat up. It is painful to see him like that with his lip swollen and bleeding from everywhere. I'm struggling to find a way to calm how afraid I'm sure he is. I can look at him and tell he's afraid.
Scan-Man and I went way back to when we were humans. Sunbeam and I were always best friends. Boe was his older brother. Back in the day he always wanted to hang with us. You would think he was the younger brother instead of the older brother. I had no huge issues with him hanging out except at times he could be a little bit of a nerd. When Sunbeam and I were turned...so was Boe. God knows what Boe was doing out at 4am. I never really asked.
"You know the intruder?" a low rattling voice asks.
I turn at that moment and remember where I am. I don't know how the fuck I forgot that I was in a War Room full of goddam Villains.
"He's a friend of mine. I thought he was dead," is the only last minute explanation I can cook up to the 10 villains looking at me with judgmental eyes.
The semi-circular table seems to be mostly disgusted with me sitting here crying like a little baby. Even my new friend Fem Fatale was crossing her arms and shaking her head at that moment. None of them worried me as much as Vigor though. From his high seat in the middle of the floor he looks down at me and Scan. He puts his hand around his chin and examines me.
There is a muscle man, sitting at the very end of the table that spreads a smile and a hard laugh, "Is the new boy crying? Vigor...your new recruit has tears in his eyes."
"I'm not crying..." I respond.
I was. I was goddam crying. I just thought he was dead. I want to explain to everyone how much Scan meant. He was the only remainder of a life I thought was over. I look weak and I look goddam stupid. And I've embarrassed myself probably beyond repair sitting here now.
Vigor doesn't address me. He turns to Gadget Girl, "What's your report?"
Gadget girl is cold when she explains to Vigor what happened, "The intruder was sneaking around the ventilation systems. My robots detected him and apprehended him immediately,"
"Good work," Vigor responds.
"Thank you master," she smiles like a dog being told to fetch.
I look over at Scan. I don't get it. What the fuck was he doing here? Why the fuck would he risk breaking into a secret lair? Had he lost his goddam mind? He had no real dangerous super power. His power consisted of him scanning other people's abilities. What the fuck was he going to do? Scan his way through a villain's lair?
"I was looking for my friend," Scan explains at that moment, "I saw that he was kidnapped. I went after him. I followed him here. I just had to make sure that Materias was safe. I just had to make sure that no harm had come to him..."
Laughter.
They were laughing at him. Even Fem was laughing. The only ones that stayed quiet was Gadget Girl who I thought was probably incapable of human emotion and Materias who seemed like he was too busy studying this situation.
"You risked your life to sneak into my lair to save your friend?" Vigor asks squinting his eyes at Scanman, "Who was never a prisoner of mine to begin with."
"I had no way of knowing that," Scan explains.
Scan was an idiot. He was such an idiot but it was always like him trying to be a part of something that he wasn't. Just like Jolie he always asserted himself into the fight. I knew he had good intentions but every time Scan attempted to save me from a situation I always had to turn around and end up saving him instead.
Vigor shakes his head, "I don't believe you."
"I'm not lying."
Vigor grunts a little bit before turning to Gadget Girl, "Have your robots dispose of this liar. I have no use for him."
I knew what dispose meant. He was ordering Gadget Girl to kill him.
"Wait!" I scream.
My plead is louder than I wanted it to be. People were already getting up and heading out as if Vigor was a teacher who had just said that class was dismissed. Now they are all turning and shooting me the strangest stares. It's clear that they aren't used to someone begging for someone else's life...especially amongst Villains. They look at me, then they look at Vicious Vigor, then they look at me again.
The muscular guy is angrily talking at that moment, "You don't know our rules new boy. I assume you learn them quickly. What Vigor says goes and he says that the intruder dies. You get it?"
The tone of the man's voice is angry...almost sinister. I take a look at this guy. He's probably more than 200 pounds and he's solid muscles. He's easily the most muscular person in the room. He looks like a professional wrestler or a UFC fighter. His also isn't waering anything but these slim tight white trunks.
"Icebox. Let him talk," Vigor replied.
Icebox. That was the asshole's name.
This Icebox guy seems relentless, "Let Gadget Girl kill the intruder. You can't just let people walk in and out of this place whenever they'd like. Vigor..."
"I'm interested in hearing what Materias has to say."
Hell. I'm interested that he's interested. Vigor gives me a cold look. He's examining me. Icebox as big and intimidating as he is seems to shut up when Vigor gives him the command. There is a silence that takes over the room. I honestly didn't expect Vigor to give me a fighting chance about this. I'm not exactly sure what I want to say.
"I know he is an intruder," I say at that moment, "I know he isn't supposed to be here and wasn't invited. For that you have no reason to trust him and you should probably want him dead. However I beg you not to hurt him. He's my last friend."
The other villains look at me confused. They'd probably never seen a villain begging to SAVE someone's life before.
There is silence. My heart is racing. I look down at Scan. He's sweating bullets and he has every right to be. Vigor is so goddam intimidating in his quiet, strong evilness. There is something so sexy about the way his upper lip bites a slight pink lower lip every so slightly. Then at that moment Vigor just let's out a grunt.
"I'll think about it," he states.
It's not a yes. It's not a no. But it maybe some extra time for Scan to be alive.
"What should I do with him Master?" Gadget Girl asks.
"Take him to the dungeons."
"Sir. What if he's escapes?" Icebox asks, "He's crafty. He was smart enough to break in here."
"Double the guard," Vigor replies before shaking his head, "And don't let him escape. This is the last I'm talking about this intruder today. He didn't even put up much of a fight. We have other things to worry about. Everyone clear the goddam room."
I look at Vigor for a moment and mouth a soft, "Thank you."
"Everyone except you Materias...you stay..."
I'm confused on why he says that. I don't know whether to be nervous or scared or excited that Vigor wants to talk to me. In the next couple of minutes the room is cleared completely. Gadget Girl's robot minions drag Scan away to the dungeons. I call out for him letting him know that it's going to be ok but the truth is I don't know that. The truth is I'm scared to death for my friend. Vigor doesn't really seem like a warm and loving kind of man. When I look at him and talk to him I see nothing but ice. Hell...ice was probably warmer than Vigor was.
When we are alone I realize he had a cup in his hand. It's a goblet and I can just assume he's drinking wine or maybe something stronger by how slow he sips it.
It's awkward and strange when the room is completely empty and I just see Vigor staring at me across the room. His eyes are glaring at me. I look around awkwardly not understanding why he isn't asking me any questions. For the longest time Vigor is just staring at me though. He's studying me and I don't understand what it is he's trying to figure out.
"Sir...you needed something?"
Me addressing him seems to take him out of his trancelike study.
"What was that about?" he asks me finally, "The begging, the pleading and the crying. What was all that about?"
"When you met me I was breaking into a bank with friends of mines. Small time crooks. Scan was one of them. He was the getaway driver which is how he probably survived the whole ordeal. And see there were emotions there."
"Emotions?"
I laugh at the idea, "You know love. You have heard of that right?"
Vigor seems to be losing his patience with me as the conversation proceeds, "Are you going to continue being a smart ass or are you going to make your point?"
"I'm sorry."
This doesn't seem to ease Vigor's attitude, "Don't be sorry. Be quick. What emotions did you have for him."
"I didn't love him. I actually loved his brother," I explain to Vigor, "His name was Sunbeam. He was a straight guy. And I know it sounds dumb...but I was in love with him. I guess you can't help who you love sometimes. And there's something about unrequited love. A love that someone doesn't return---that makes you want it even more. And you don't give up. And you don't let go. And Sunbeam, to me at least, is a reflected in his brother Scanman. And I just want to save that last piece of Sunbeam that still remains."
I'm surprised my argument is so sound. For a minute I think that I've broken past Vigor's cold light exterior. He is headed towards me. There is a humanness in his eyes. It's almost as though for a moment he's found that thing in me that he's been searching for while he was staring at me. He looks at me curiously as we are standing in front of one another.
He's so close to me. He smells strong, masculine and cologne when he gets close to me. His eyes gaze through mine. There's never been a super villain so sexy in the world than this man right now. And if he knows how sexually attractive he is, he doesn't seem to give a damn. He seems completely unaware of how beautiful he is.
"This love thing you talk about---"
"Yeah?"
He leans in close and his eyes all of a sudden go cold again, "This love thing is a waste of time. It's a distraction. I can't relate to not a goddam thing that just came out of your mouth. Love is weakness. You know how all metahumans have a Limit. Well love is a human Limit. A limit that our kind can't afford."
The words slice through me at that moment.
With his cold words he turns and walks out of the room almost as though he is angry with the idea that he even had to defend himself against that.
The next day Fem knocks at my door. She's wearing her usual outfit and when I open the door for her she doesn't seem as full of excitement as she did the first day that I met her. I'm confused by it at first but she doesn't let me stay in the dark too long...
"You looked weak yesterday," she lets me know almost immediately.
"Well. Thanks for that. I needed that. Good morning to you too," I respond.
I lay on my bed at that moment. I'd brushed my teeth, showered and gotten back in bed. I wasn't ready to face the day. I've been worrying about Scan all night. Vigor didn't end on a good term. He sounded like he already made up his mind about what he was going to do with Scan. I wondered if Scan was still even alive. Would anyone let me know that he was ok? A part of me wondered if it was worth it getting to Scan and making a run for it. Would I risk it if that was the only way I could save his life?
I wasn't sure.
Fem crosses her arms, "I'm just telling you how it is. That was a horrible first impression. Icebox clearly doesn't trust you. Whatever Icebox thinks the twins think as well."
I remember the twins. The boy and girl dressed in matching outfits. They were both young probably in their early 20s. They weren't rude yesterday though. The Icebox guy was whole different story all together though. I can still hear his voice dripping of a patronizing distaste.
"What do you think?" I ask.
"Besides you being weak?"
"Yeah. Besides that."
Fem shrugs at that moment, "I suppose you did an honorable thing. But there is little honor among villains. I know you're used to that petty thievery bullshit. You're messing with the big boys now, Materias."
I know she means well but still I feel weak. She's right. I cried like a baby just from seeing Scanman. The entire Division of Disaster was probably looking at me as the biggest joke of a villain out there. What kind of villain did that?
"How can I fix it?" I ask.
It's the only thing I can think of at this time. I don't even expect Fem to help me. She's been nice but I'm not a project and I don't pretend to be. I'm surprised when Fem sits on the back next to me.
"So you want to be a badass huh?"
Revenge. That is what Vigor had promised me.
First things first...we have to get you a bad ass costume."
=====================================================================================
"His name is Web Weaver. He's able to produce a proteinous spider silk protruding from his fingertips. The tensile strength of his spider silk is greater than the same weight of steel and has much greater elasticity. You've seen Gadget Girl and Icebox. They both have costumes that the Web Weaver designed. The suits are bulletproof and highly resistant to damage."
Fem is walking me to the other side of the 4th floor to the place I can get my super hero suit created. I am blown away by the abilities of these supervillains. The idea of a man who could weave super resistant silk from his fingertips blows my mind away.
I raise my eyebrows, "That would have been really useful when I was fighting the Mayor. He damn near crushed me. I need one...asap. Wait. If the Web Weavers suits are so powerful, then why don't you have one."
I notice her bra and flaring skirt.
She rolls her eyes, "They are sexy and all but not my style. I leave those more to the newer villains who can pull them off. I leave it to the villains who really need it."
The way she says `really need it' is crushing almost. Fem is looking down on me. I can tell. I mean she's been really nice and welcoming but there is something behind her eyes when she talks to me. It's almost like she doesn't think I'm going to last here. Every time she talks to me it becomes more and more clear. She doesn't think I'm strong enough and my little show earlier in front of Vigor really isn't helping my case.
We walk into something that looks like a clothing store or maybe even dry cleaners. The room is the same dull gray color but it comes alive by the racks and racks of colorful clothing lined up against the walls. I am immediately impressed by the colors and the fabrics. I can't help but to run my hands through the silk as we make our way into the department store.
We find the Web Weaver in the very back. He's sitting in a couch facing away from us but he isn't alone.
"We don't have much time. We need to attack now..." the Web Weaver is saying, "Or we'll all die."
It's clear that Fem and I are walking in on a serious discussion. As we walk closer I realize the person he's talking to is Vicious Vigor. Seeing the two men standing there is something. Web Weaver is attractive. Very attractive. I remember thinking he was some sort of model when we were in the meeting. He's different from Vigor though. Where as Vigor has this tough, manly attractiveness to him...Web Weaver has a very soft handsome face. His face has a fully realized bone structure that's still quite masculine yet somewhat pretty at the same time. He has a full set of coarse, healthy looking hair on the top of his head that goes out into an interesting afro design. My bald ass is jealous by how healthy and full his hair looks. As I get closer the only thing I can think about is how similar he looks like a pretty blend between Lenny Kravitz and Maxwell.
"I'll figure something out," Vigor responds to him, "Don't I always?"
I'm confused. They are having this really serious conversation. Vigor's strong almost stoic expressions clash with Web Weaver's delicate ones.
Web Weaver doesn't seem too impressed by Vigor's confidence, "The virus is..."
"Eh ERM!"
It's Fem. It's clear she's announcing to them that we are listening in. Web Weaver and Vigor's conversation was definitely something serious and Fem wants to make sure that I don't hear another word of it. I cross my arms happy at least that Vigor's super talents don't include super awareness or super hearing. When his eyes meet mine he gives me the same interested look, studying me like he'd done over and over since he brought me here.
"What's this?" Web Weaver says smiling.'
"I'm looking to get the new guy suited," Fem announces loud and clear, looking more over at Vigor as though trying to show him that she's taking some initiative here.
Vigor doesn't seem to give a shit, "I'll let you get to it Weaver. I have work to do.
He starts walking out the door not seeming interested either in Fem or I at that moment. The guy is so cold. It's so hard to read him. The more he seems to not want to be around me the more I seem to build this crush in my head.
And clearly I'm not the only one.
Fem can't help to flirt as he walks by, "No word of encouragement from my fearless leader?"
Vigor ignores her and walks out of the room. He's not amused by it at all. The look on Fem's face says that she wasn't expecting anything less from Vigor. He's cold. He's serious all the time. He's not exactly the type to flirt with a sexy girl. He's a man about his business and for some reason his stand-offish personality is sending a warm flow of excitement up my spine.
He was BEYOND sexy.
Web Weaver is laughing, "He's not going to buckle. Better women...and men have tried."
Web Weaver seems to be addressing Fem but when I turn around I see him staring at me as well. Had he seen me staring Vigor out of the room. I feel a slight embarrassment at that moment. Every time Vigor is in the room my eyes are glued on him. If Web Weaver may suspect my boyish crush then I wonder what Vigor thought.
"We aren't here for your love advice," Fem rolls her eyes at that moment, "You going to make my buddy here a suit or not?"
"Him? Why would I waste my silk on him?" Web Weaver asks.
Damn.
"You know I am standing here still," I respond acknowledging how rude he is all of a sudden.
Web Weaver walks towards me. His handsome face surveys me up and down several times measuring me up. Whereas Vigor does it in a sexy way as though trying to dig into my soul, it's clear Web Weaver is doing it in a patronizing way. After a moment of two or sizing me up he shakes his head, "And what do they call you again? Crybaby?"
"Ha ha," I respond, "I had a moment of weakness. I'm a badass. Don't get it twisted. The names Materias."
Web Weaver raises an eyebrow, "That's different. What's your ability?"
"I can change an object into something else."
Web Weaver is standing in front of me now, "I can see why Vigor would find that...appealing for our cause. The crybaby shit...that doesn't last. The weak die young. These heroes won't think twice of vaporizing you their eye beams or flying you to the top of a mountain and dropping you. People like you don't last. Not in the Division..."
He's tough, rude...almost...angry.
"That's what I said," Fem nudges in, "Sure he may be dead in a few days but maybe your suit can help him a little bit."
I want to announce that I'm still here again but it's clear it's not going to do any good. My weakness with Scan-man is something that I'm not going to live down anytime soon. The first impression the other villains have of me was nothing diabolical or strong. They saw me crying begging for my friends life like a goddam loser.
"What's your Limit?" Web Weaver asks me.
"I'm not telling you my goddam Limit."
With Metahumans, limits were your lifeline. It was our weakness and that's why the Ministry wanted to Register us so bad. They talk about how they just wanted to make sure everyone was safe but I knew better. They wanted to know our Limits. If someone knew that the things that I created only lasted for a short time before returning to it's natural state, it would leave me vulnerable for an attack. If I created a gun they could just hide out until that gun changes back into a TV remote or something.
Surprisingly Web Weaver isn't annoyed that I won't tell him my Limit, "Well that was smarter than I gave you credit for. You never tell your Limit. That's your biggest secret."
Fem smiles at that moment, "See, he's not so bad. Will you make him a suit, Webby Baby. Please..."
I don't know if I consider Fem a friend yet but I kind of feel glad I have someone willing to clearly push her sexuality for me. Fem is already twirling her hair and batting her eyelashes. She's leaning forward so that the Web Weaver gets a clear shot of her cleavage.
For a moment I actually think he'll agree but then Web Weaver just waves me away. "No. I'm not doing it. My name isn't the Zombie Weaver. I don't make suits for the Walking Dead."
He returns to a desk at the other side of the room at that moment. He's not interested in me and clearly doesn't seem to want to help me. I feel like almost feel like giving up. Clearly Fem has given up. She pats me on the shoulder as though letting me know that she tried and then she starts walking away. I'm turning away and walking out but a bit of anger comes over me.
"Man fuck you," I respond looking over at the Web Weaver, "I don't need your piece of shit silk. Fem doesn't wear it. Vigor doesn't either. Those are the only two motherfuckers that I've heard of in this piece of shit Division anyway. I can turn a peanut into an atomic bomb. I don't NEED this shit!"
I don't know why I'm so pissed off. Honestly I can't turn a peanut into an atomic bomb. That's kind of like a mini Limit of mine. See the thing about my powers is that I had to have a full understanding of the thing that I'm mutating something into. You know the saying "You have to see it, to achieve it". Well that saying was very literal for me. I didn't know the first thing about the structure or make-up of an atomic bomb. There was no way I could make one, but Web Weaver didn't need to know all of that.
"Who do you think you're talking to!"
I don't even have the chance to respond before the Web Weaver clasps his hands together. His facial expression is angry all of a sudden and definitely villainous. He works his fingers frantically like he's typing in mid-air. I don't know what's happening and I don't really have time to react. Within seconds a web is formed. The silk shoots out of his finger tips!
I try to make a run for it but I trip over a strand of silk. I trip forward almost running into the Web Weaver himself. I fall onto his desk and knock over all the pens on the table. Web Weaver's silk vines itself around me. It ties me up, pulling at my feet at first making me fall on the ground. Web Weaver's fingers remain frantic at that moment. He's going, faster and faster and his finger tips are producing more and more webs!
I don't know what to do. I struggle to kick out of the web.
"Weaver enough!" Fem states.
Web Weaver isn't listening to her. His finger tips run the web all around my ankles and it's spreading up to my knees. It's getting tighter and tighter. For a moment I fucking swear that it feels like an anaconda is wrapping itself around me! I'm struggling at that moment to get a hold of something...anything.
I reach out and grab onto one of the pens I knock over. As soon as it's in my hands I concentrate. I envision the knife.
"Good luck cutting through that," he laughs.
I remember what Fem Fatale told me about the Web Weaver's silk.
Little does he know I have no intention of cutting through it. I balance myself even with my legs tied up and somersault through the air. It was actually Sunbeam who taught me how to flip through the air like I had just did. Sunbeam always told me that if I couldn't fly I should be nimble. Sunbeam let me know that I shouldn't let gravity hold me down...even if it wasn't my metahauman ability to fly. Within a matter of seconds I'm tackle him and I have that knife at his throat.
This was for you Sunbeam.
My voice is villainous, "Release me."
I'm not joking. A part of me knows I'm not a killer but I'll do it if I had to. I was going to blow the Mayor up with a Grenade. If I had to kill someone I would do it. So here I am looking down at Weaver, sitting on his chest with my legs tied and I am pressing this knife into his skin with just enough pressure to let him know how serious this is.
"Well done," Web Weaver smiles.
I'm surprised.
"Well done?"
I'm looking down at him. My knife is still at his throat even when I feel the silk loosening and falling off to the ground below. Web Weaver looks up at me and I have to admit there is something sexy about this little fight that we had.
It low key kind of turned me on for whatever reason.
Fem laughs, "That was very well done."
She is staring down at me. I wonder if I gained any sort of respect by fighting back at that moment. I wonder if I gained even a little bit.
"Fem...I'll make the new guy a suit. Under one condition," the Web Weaver states.
Fem seems more than overjoyed, "And what is that?"
"A kiss."
Fem lets out a girlish laugh, "Well Weaver. I thought you'd never ask."
I can understand why Fem would be excited about it. Weaver is handsome. He's has this regal coyness about him that is sexy. He has this devious smile that is spread across his cheeks at this moment. It's different from Vigor. Web Weaver seems like the more traditional kind of Villain. He was sneaky, willful and proud. I can tell by how it took all this for me to get one of his suits.
"Not a kiss from you Fem," he shuts her down before looking up at me...still on his chest, "A kiss from Materias here..."
He uses my name. He's not calling me "the new guy" or the "walking dead". He's calling me Materias.
"A kiss?"
"From him?" Fem asks.
Web Weaver ignores her. At that moment there is some sort of strange chemistry between us. He looks up at me and stares into my eyes.
"I'm trying something new," he lets me know, "I want to really understand the will of a man. It'll really let me customize your suit. So kiss me. Tongue. Don't hold back. Show me who you are Materias..."
I look down at Web Weaver. I lean down slowly. I pucker my lips up against his. He is flaccid, allowing me to take control. I play with his lower lip at that moment. I bit onto it, soft at first and then hard to the point that he lets out a soft moan. As I play with Web Weaver's lower lip he all of a sudden reacts attempting to give me a proper kiss.
"Teasing..." he says.
I smile deviously as I'm over him. I continue to tease him almost to the point that his mouth is open and begging for me to kiss him thoroughly. I begin the kiss putting my tongue in his mouth. Our tongues clash at that moment. There is a heat between us as I begin to kiss him over and over. My tongue enters his mouth and combats with him. He kisses me back taking me all the way in. Our tongues mingle into each other, swapping spit between us. It's passionate as he uses his hand to pull me down over him. He presses me up against him and run my hands through his afro.
It's getting hot before I know it. Web Weaver is moaning slowly and so am I. His hands are running ddown the side of my back. They are making their way to my ass. He's down my pants right now. He's squeezing onto my ass. I'm kissing him forcefully. My manhood is pressed up against him.
His hands go further and further down. His finger is damn near at the edge of my asscrack now. A moment longer and he would be fingering me!
"Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. I think you have an idea of my willpower or whatever," I pull off of Web Weaver.
I stop kissing him and sit up.
"Don't stop..." Fem states.
I look over at her. Fem sitting on Web Weaver's desk. She is staring down at us like she's watching some sort of movie or something. She's flushed red and fanning herself.
Web Weaver bites his lips, "I think I can make a compelling suit with that. Warm. Passionate...hard..." he stares down at my hard dick pressed up against him.
I pull off of him and struggle to adjust myself. That definitely got hot really fast.
"How long will it take you?"
"Give me a week. I suggest you take that time to prepare," Web Weaver responds sitting up on the floor and resting his hands over his crotch area. I wonder if he's attempting to hide a little hard on himself.
"Prepare for what?" I ask.
"He doesn't know?" Web Weaver asks Fem.
Fem shakes her head at Web Weaver, "Vigor wanted to keep him in the dark. People tend to freak out when they hear about the Virus."
Here it was. Talk of this Virus again. I didn't understand it. I also didn't understand why Vigor was keeping ANYTHING from me.
"What Virus?"
Fem looks at Web Weaver, "Don't...webby."
She's warning him about telling me but the look on Web Weaver's face lets me know that he was the kind of person who followed his own set of rules.
Web Weaver crosses his arms, "There's a virus coming. Sort of like an AIDS like virus. It only attacks metahumans. The ministry is starting it. And unless we stop it, every single metahuman will be dead within a year."
My mouth gets dry.
"Fuck..."
