To those who've been reading Tales of Sol. I want you to know that while there is sex in this story. That is not is sole purpose and yes I do hope the sex sense makes you all hard and gets you off.
Sol is an adaption from my childhood favorite show Captain Planet and the Planeteers, The cartoon showed us that the world can be a better place if we took a few moments to care for it.
Tales of Sol is meant to express hope.
It is also shows how music can have an impact in our lives. While I don't know if my favorite bands 98 Degrees, Backstreet Boys or Nsync have ever read this. They saw me through some of the hardest moments of my life and offered in their own way hope. To them I say thank you.
I dedicate the Tales of Sol to all of my brothers and sisters of the US armed service past, present, and future.
I like to thank my friends who I had the privilege showing these chapters with. They helped with editing and inspiration, John Rivera, Albert-Russ Alan Rivera-Odum, Derbe.D. Hunte Yvette Ortiz Samuel Diaz Jr for all their help in Making The Tales of Sol an enjoyable story to write.
And I have a few other names starting with the beginner of this universe James the author of Tales of a Real Dark Knight. I still hope to reconnect with you dear friend and all the rest of this series.

The Tales of Sol 25 Warrior's Honor
I woke up at some point during the night for some ungodly reason. With Jeff's arms still wrapped around me it was a crime for me to even think of moving, but I turned to look at the clock. Realizing that I could still get some patrolling done as humanly as possible I broke lose of Jeff's loving arms doing my best not to wake my beautiful angel. Softly so as not to disturb him I rummaged through my pant's pocket pulling out my Combadge. In a near whisper I called for BEATTI to come get me I quickly warned "Please keep it down Jeff is asleep,"
In a very low volume "Affirmative." BEATTI replied.
I walked out to the backyard and waited until my super hearing could pick up the sound of my Sea Dragon closing in. Not wanting it to disturb anyone sleeping in the neighborhood I waved my hand to teleport my grappling gun then fired it at the direction of the approaching helicopter. Latching onto the starboard pylon BEATTI slowed the approach to allow me to reach her safely.
Tugging at the retract button it pulled me over to the chopper I ordered "Okay BEATTI begin searching for Razeel." I went to the compartment that held my Guardian costume and began to change.
"Commencing search for the Slayer," BEATTI complied,
By the time I was pulling the hood and mask up and over my face BEATTI announced, "The Slayer is fighting vampires near Veterans Stadium."
"Okay here we go," I said as I took the controls and set a course for the Veteran.
It didn't take us long to reach Veterans Stadium and from my sky eye view, I saw Razeel in the middle of the parking lot surrounded by a lot of vampires. "Razeel looks a bit outnumbered I think I will help even the odds,"
Giving control back to BEATTI I went to my new airborne weapons locker, I took out the D'k tahg and holstered it to my belt, thinking this would be the perfect time for my Bat'Leth to lend a hand, I pulled it out feel the heavy weapon in my hands sent a shiver down my spin. It also gave an idea for a project for a later date. Instructing BEATTI to remain on the deck long enough for me to get off. Beeping her acknowledgment BEATTI began her descent. When we were a few inches above the asphalt I opened the side door and ran off to help Razeel. When I was close enough I pulled my D'k tahg out of its holster, its secondary blades sprang into action. I sent it sailing into a vampire that was about to tackle Razeel from behind. The vampire cried out as it disintegrated. "It is time," I smirked as I hefted my Bat'Leth reading the double edge sword for what looked like a worthy battle. I yelled out, "Is this a private party or can anyone join?"
The clan of vampires looked up to see me standing there giving my large sword a few back and forth swings. Both of us were ready for a fight.
"With a weapon like that friends are always welcomed!" Razeel yelled the clan split up some of them came at me while some went after Razeel. The first vampire to reach me was the first to see how well my new training in my Holo-Room was going as my Bat'Leth cut through him. "Thanks for coming by the way!" Razeel had to yell over the scream of a dying vampire,
"Happy to oblige!" I hollered back as Bat'Leth got hooked onto the next vampire leg and taking them out from underneath of her when she landed on her back I brought the sword down cutting off her head. She dusted a second later and I moved to the next vampire.
We were well into the brawl when a vampire charged at me. I swung my Bat'Leth around so that two of the sword's razor sharp blades into his demonic chest cried out as it managed to pull itself free but I wasn't going to let it get away. So in a fluid like motion I turned on my heel and slashed out with the Bat'Leth catching the vampire's neck freeing his head from the rest of him followed by his body exploding into dust. I was in mid-swing when the next vampire tried to jump me. He landed on top of one the crescent sword's secondary blade killing him instantly. Still in motion my Bat'Leth caught the next two approaching vampires in the stomach, as they howled in pain I swiveled on my feet and with one blow I severed their heads. Their companion on the other hand managed to evade the deadly contact backhanded me across the face. The blow was so hard it sent me flying across the parking lot, and into Veteran Stadium. I had forgotten how strong these bastards were. I got the reminder when I struck the stone walls of Veteran Stadium. I heard cracking, not sure if that was stone or bones. It was only by the grace of the Mother that I wasn't killed, not that I could have avoided getting injured as the pain made me drop my Bat'Leth and slumped over. Looking back up I saw that I did indeed leave an impression on the side of Veteran Stadium. "That is not how I planned to leave my mark in this city," I groaned as The Earth healed my injuries. When the vampire that struck me pulled me off the ground by my collar "You've dropped your sword, so what is a warrior without his weapons?" he laughed evilly as he attempted to bite my neck.
Thrusting my head forward connecting to his, the sharp pain that followed made the both of us cry in pain sufficiently healed I got up then said "A Warrior still!" I brought the heel of my hand to his chin driving it backwards then kicked out with my left leg sending the demon into his companion. Before they could recover my head shot to the left fixating on the closest parking lot lamp post, its metal base crunched like an aluminum soda can was soon freed it from its concrete foundation electrical sparks momentarily sprayed the parking lot as the electrical circuit was severed. Using my hand I sent the streetlight into the vampires driving both into the Delaware River. Picking the Bat'Leth back up I charged back into the fray which lasted for another twenty minutes.
After the battle I brushed the dust of my enemies off of my clothes. I limped over to Razeel, and helped her to back up to her feet.
"Thanks for the help!" she exclaimed
"My pleasure," I replied now that battle had ended and I didn't need to exert any energy the Earth could finish healing all of my injuries more effectively looking me over Razeel awed as the last of my scraps healed themselves, "I wish we had you for the Vampire War we would have won it easily." She continued
Shaking my head as memories surfaced. "I was a touch busy then myself, and we too have lost people during that war." I told her
"We?" She inquired
"Not here, there is a much better place to talk unless you want to continue patrolling?" I replied, carrying my Bat'Leth.
"No, I am done for now." She told me
"Okay then follow me." I said walking away she followed me and we came up to BEATTI's hiding spot. As we approached the silhouette of my Chopper Razeel looked at me "I am starting to like you more, and more."
"Well don't get too close, I don't swing that way." I laughed
"Oh no, not another gay superhero are there any straight ones." She mockingly huffed
"Oh, maybe one or two?" I laughed holding out my hand I directed Razeel back to my CH-53C and said, "Oh by the way Razeel I like you to meet BEATTI" who in turn gave me a 'are you crazy' look
"Hello Razeel" The Chopper said the look on Razeel's face was priceless she turned to me and asked, "Guardian did your helicopter just talk to me?"
Answering with a smile on my face, "Why, yes she did"
With a sigh of relief she responded, "okay, I thought I was going nuts"
"Nope BEATTI is my pain in the ass AI," I informed her looking at BEATTI then back at Razeel.
"AI damn I forgot that Quinton told us you had super computer system that aided you in your activities," Razeel remembered
"You can say hello," I encouraged
She looked at me strangely then said, "okay, hello helicopter."
BEATTI replied, "Nice to meet you and the name is BEATTI,"
She looked at me in shock, "Guardian? Did I just insult your helicopter?"
I smiled at her and said, "Yes, you did but that is okay we forgive you, lets go" I offered her a lift home which I knew she'd accept once airborne Razeel asked, "So Beatty, is that a name or is there more?"
"Oh it is an acronym actually, it stands for something. Binary Engineered Artificial Thinking Transforming Intelligence. She is my first successful attempt at creating Artificial Intelligence I built her with the knowledge from my time with the Navy and perfected after receiving my powers," I told her
"Wow, what else can you do?" She asked
"You'll see since we will be working together." I smiled
"Yes I think Quinton is still having a nervous breakdown after dealing with you," Razeel chuckled
"I do have my charms," I said
"So how did you get your powers?" She asked turning control over to BEATTI. I went into my tale, "okay I promise, well for starters I just got my powers about several nights ago so I am still learning how to use them, they were given to me from what you would call my watcher. In fact as the Spirit of the Earth, Gaia was one of the first to combat the forces of evil," I told her
Razeel stared at me "She was the Father's answer to the increase of evil forces on Earth after the Great Flood. She did this for thousands of years before Christ gave humans the key to fight those forces." I continued
I took a breath and the slayer sat next to me listening to my tale like a child at story time, "When humanity began to fight the darkness this gave Gaia the chance to step it back a little, and combat evil a different way instead of direct combat. She fought in a more gentler way, by making changes to the way man treated our Planet, and each other," I again stopped to take a breath "Thus Captain Planet, and the Planeteers were born. At the time the Planeteers didn't know their deeds were one of Gaia's ways of combating the dark Lord, not that she could stand by and watch as humanity wrecked this planet that we call home." I went on
"By stopping Chaos here, and showing people how to care for the Planet they did more damage to the forces of evil then fighting alone could, that until one day." I stopped
She looked at me and pieced things together "9/11?"
"Exactly that day was traumatic for all involved with the United States and the rest of the World fighting Terrorist, Vampire Slayers and other demon hunters fighting the Vampire war and the X-men off fighting Apocalypse, knowing there would be no one to help them the First set a trap for Captain Planet, and the Planeteers with the help of a pair of vampires one of them very old and powerful, they slaughtered the Planeteers, and mortally wound Captain Planet."
I continued on "Gaia was able to sustain Cap for a good six months, however she couldn't save him so she began her search hoping to implant Captain Planet into the nexus. That is where I come in, while preparing for some guests. I felt Captain Planet's death. I was forced outside and to place my hand into the ground. Before he was fatally wound Captain Planet had sent the very last of his essence and powers into the Earth. It had traveled the through the ground where unbeknownst to me it entered my body. That power had laid dormant until Gaia found it and allowed it to come forth, which didn't happen until I had put myself in danger trying to save a mutant from harm. Since then that essence has grown steadily allowing me to become accustomed to it,"
I finished "And that is how I got my powers,"
"Wow it's so unreal, the whole story is just unbelievable. The scariest thing is how much it all ties in with what happened." Razeel said
"So what about you?" I asked it was only fair for me to question her
"I replaced the former Slayer of Philadelphia; she was killed during the Vampire War." She said simply.
"Well, I am glad to have you on our side." I said
"I am getting tired if you wouldn't mind," Razeel told me
"Where would you like us to drop you off?" I asked
"If you wouldn't mind that small park up ahead," Razeel requested
"Sure thing," I agreed as I flew us to Razeel's destination, I brought the helicopter down, the Vampire Slayer opened the port cockpit door and left. Waiting till Razeel cleared I pulled on the throttle and ascended back to the skies taking us back to the Lair.
Once we returned to base I went back to the Command Center and went back to searching for these children. Looking at the new information scrolling across the monitor BEATTI was able to add more children to this list. According to BEATTI a total of 300 children have gone missing in the last four months. Whoever is doing this obviously has help which was evident from all the henchmen I have encountered. One question: where are these kids being taken too? There were countless places in Philadelphia where hundreds of children could be taken and held. "BEATTI any more information coming from that probe I planted?" I requested
"The probe has seen that van being ditched into the Delaware River down by the Philadelphia International Airport," BEATTI reported
"So much for that idea," I grumbled
"It did pick up before the van submerged another van pulling off but it couldn't see which way that other van went," BEATTI informed
"So these boobs aren't entirely without brains and had a different getaway plan in place," I grumbled
"I don't believe it was because of the probe the van was sent into the river sir," BEATTI piped up
"No it was because that van was reported and they had to get rid of it quick," I acknowledged
"I have already informed Mr. Matthews and he told the police where to find the van, they pulled it out of the river while you were with 98 Degrees," BEATTI informed
"Did they find anything relevant?" I inquired
"Only that there was indeed a child an infant to be precise in their possession," BEATTI answered
"So I did see a baby being ripped from its mother's arms," I sighed in disgust
"Yes sir unfortunately," BEATTI acknowledged
"So where does that leave us?" I pondered as I looked back at the information
"It leaves us trying to figure out who is kidnapping children and why," I heard from behind me.
I turned to see Dave walking into the Command Center, "That goes without saying but where are they being taken is another question," I countered
"I know and so far there are no strange sightings anywhere in the city so that begs to differs where are these kids going and why," Dave pondered
As we went over all the current information I told Dave about rendezvous with Razeel and our battle with the vampires at Veteran Stadium "The Bat'Leth has proved itself in battle," I smirked
"Klingon approved," Dave snickered
With a wicked smile "Vampires not so much," I winked then went back to running through the information. After two hours of looking at the computer monitor Dave suggested we should leave. He reminded me that Jeff was still waiting for me to return home. I agreed and we left BEATTI to continue the search. I was still connected to the Lair through a computer terminal at home.
I got home a short time later the lights were still off and BEATTI informed me the guys were still asleep. It was close to four in the morning and I wasn't a bit tired so I went to my computer that was linked to the Lair. I wanted the latest in whatever BEATTI had found as she scoured through everything. There wasn't much new so I powered down the interface and after a quick shower I crawled back in bed. As I fell asleep I felt the arms of my beloved wrap around me and I took comfort in Jeff's love.
We woke up hours late to Drew pounding on our door "Mike we are hungry,"
"Go back to bed we are comfortable," Jeff complained as he pulled me in tighter
"But we have a hankering for some Philly delicacies," Drew yelled through the door
Kissing the back of my neck, "Well I am having some right now," Jeff called back
There was a moment of silence "Jeff that was too much information," Drew laughed
I got out of bed "I am done Drew I will down shortly," I quipped
"Just make sure to wash up first," Drew's voice faded as he moved away from the door.
"Who needs an alarm clock when we have their stomachs ," I smirked looking down at my room clock, seeing it was around eight am.
"I wish they would at least let us spend some quality time together," Jeff grumbled as he got out of bed and quickly put something on
"Leave your shirt off," I requested as I brushed my hands over Jeff's well defined chest then gave him a late morning kiss.
"You are bad," Jeff growled in lust as he wrapped his strong arms around me and pulled me closer.
We got dressed with Jeff leaving his shirt behind as we left our room at my request Nick of course had to say something, "So Jeff?"
"Thank your brother," Jeff stuck his tongue out
"Hey all I said was I am hungry," Drew tried to defend himself
Justin laughed "So was Mike apparently,"
"Well, Mike needs something other then Nick's ugly mug to look at," Jeff snickered
Drew quickly took off his shirt, "There now he has someone else,"
Nick and Justin just looked at each other and then both shedded their shirts "Hey when in Rome,"
I just laughed, "I love you all," went around and gave them each a warm hug.
When I got to Drew he kissed my cheek and said, "We love you too Mike,"
Moving away from my lovable yahoos I went into the kitchen "So Mike you going to join the shirtless party?" Justin asked
"After I make breakfast," I remarked
"Fair enough," Nick agreed
I made breakfast and Drew and Jeff helped out, while Justin and Nick helped set the table up. It only took a few minutes but soon I was shirtless as we all sat down for breakfast Drew offered to say grace. With in the first few bites Drew was swooning, "Mike I swear you put our most expensive hotels to shame in,"
"The difference between Mike and hotels is they try to impress where as Mike isn't," Jeff took pride in my cooking.
"I didn't really do much, just scramble a few eggs no different than your hotel," I waved off the compliment.
"Trust me Mike these eggs are by far better then even those we've gotten from high price hotels," Justin complimented as he took a big bite of toast.
"It sucks that we can't stay here," Drew grumbled as he ate more bacon.
"You guys will always be welcomed here," I sincerely said
"Luc wouldn't allow it mostly to keep our fans from learning about this safe haven," Jeff shook his head in regret.
I knew Jeff was right. I wouldn't be able to do my job as Guardian if 98 Degrees fans began camping out front. "I happily provide you guys a safe haven in any case," I committed as I started to pick up the dishes.
Justin stopped me, "You cooked, we clean,"
Drew picked up his plate and began to gather the rest, Justin already had the sink going the two of them cleaned the dishes while Nick and Jeff helped clean the table.
I smiled as I went to take a shower, just as the water got to the right temperature Jeff came in and took off his pants. I smiled lovingly "All those crazed fans would sell their, worldly belongings just to have you standing just like this in front of them,"
I walked over to my love and kissed him tenderly.
"Too bad for them you give me something they could never give me," Jeff kissed back
"What is that?" I asked as I brought us both into the warm waters of the shower.
"You fill my heart Mike and I couldn't ask for more," Jeff talked between kisses.
We broke our embrace so we could wash each other. We didn't have much time to play, not that it didn't stop us from giving each other pleasure.
Dave was busy showing Gregg around the Philadelphia Geothermal Plant. Today was Gregg's first official day at the plant and Dave wanted to personally show Gregg around.
"You do this for all your employees?" Gregg asked as they toured the place.
"I do more than just show people around my plant Gregg, I share many of your best friend's beliefs that when you treat a person like a person instead of some faceless being then you will get stunning results," Dave answered
"You are going to tell me you do this out of the kindness of your heart?" Gregg frowned in disbelief
"Would you ask that question if Mike was here?" Dave asked back.
"I know Mike he doesn't have a selfish bone in his body," Gregg answered
"Oh I know, I have seen that at first hand and it is one of his many defining qualities," Dave agreed
They came up to one of the viewing glasses that lead to the pits that lead to the Earth's Mental water could be seen pouring down the pit and steam coming right back up.
"This is one of three pits that use water from the stream that feeds this plant and is divided to fill all three pits to maximize the energy output of our plant. This allows us to compete with at least three coal power plants," Dave explained
"This is incredible," Gregg awed
"We don't waste water either, nearly half of the steam is collected and cooled and then recirculated right back through the water already coming in from the stream. This eases the stress on the stream to provide water to the pit," Dave explained
"Amazing," Gregg awed
"It also allows us to cut water off from the river should say a flood overwhelm the feed," Dave remarked
"But not indefinitely I take it," Gregg guested
"No we need the river to do that, but we also have solar panels and wind turbines that help augment the power output and can take over should need be," Dave agreed
Gregg spotted a section of wall with scaffolding "What is going on over there?"
"Your friend took one glance at that wall and suggested I look it over. It turns out he was more than right to suggest it, that wall was deteriorating. My people even found the problem to be a leaky pipe," Dave smiled as he told Gregg.
"That guy always seem to know when something is going to happen," Gregg acknowledged
"The same can be said when he knew you and Krystal were endangered," Dave pointed out
"I don't think I will ever understand that one," Gregg's shoulders sagged as he was reminded of that.
"Don't be upset Gregg I have learned not to dismiss Mike," Dave saw how upset Gregg had gotten
"It is not that, I was thinking how close Krystal came to losing everything and I just hate feeling like I somehow used Mike to save our bacon," Gregg confessed
"Don't give it a second thought you should talk to Mr. Graves and see how your friend helped there," Dave injected as he continued the tour.
Jeff and I finally emerged from the bathroom and everyone took a shower before Luc called insisting everyone including me come down to the studio which had me baffled. But Luc insisted and even sent a limo to come for us by the time we were all dressed BEATTI informed me that the limo was coming up to the house. After securing the house we all left.
98 Degrees' practice session lasted for several hours. I could still hear them singing in my head. It filled my soul, it filled someone else and I could feel him gaining strength.
As we rode back to the hotel Nick requested "Let's eat out tonight?"
"Why not just go back to Mike's house? I rather have his cooking," Drew countered
"I wish we could but I didn't know what time we would be done so I didn't take anything out," I had to bring up.
"We shouldn't expect Mike to always cook for us that would be selfish," Jeff stated
"Then let's just go to a restaurant," Nick reiterated
The guys took me to a high quality restaurant. The waitress was kind enough to get us a quiet corner. Nick had called Jenny, and she met us there while we waited for our food we went about with the small talk and the whole time I tried to open my senses but they were being blocked by a very powerful source I couldn't tell if it was here in the restaurant or some outside but Jenny most definitely seemed to be the source. Something about her just didn't sit right with me, something that I couldn't put my finger on. Although I didn't need my senses to notice the two men and two women vampires sitting in the food establishment at least I brought my D'k tahg with me. I could see them staring at the couple across from them, In fact it looked like they were surveying the place probably looking for the best time to strike.
"Mike, are you listening?" Drew asked which served to bring me out of my stupor and back to the moment at hand and that was my friends sitting next to me "I am sorry my mind had wondered there," I blushed
"I was asking what were your plans for tomorrow?" Drew asked
"I don't know really I haven't thought that far ahead," I replied
"Well how about hitting up a mall with us?" Jeff asked
"Which one?" I asked
"How many malls does this city have?" Nick asked with a chuckle
"Oh 3 or 4," I replied
"Well anyone of them will do," Justin responded.
The waitress came back with our food and we continued to talk. "What are you looking at?" Jeff asked
"Just amazed at the varieties of people that the Mother and the Father have come up with," I said still staring at the vampires
"You know I will never get use to someone call this planet a Mother," Justin commented
"It is a strange concept," Jenny said, giving me a very strange look.
That look sent a cold chill down the center of my spine.
"Just like Eve being the Mother of Man. The Earth is Mother of Life," I said
"I know it is strange to think of it that way," Justin commented.
Whatever was blocking my senses wasn't powerful enough to block the ping from the Earth that I just received.
"If you guys will excuse me I have to use the head," I said getting up
I found an emergency exit but this one didn't have any alarms on it. I ran out into the alley I saw Razeel fighting what looked like more vampires. \
"Better make this a quick change," I remarked and in a flash of light I was the Guardian for the sake of this battle I teleported my Mek'leth from the Lair's armory.
"Now to join the party," I said as I jumped into action. Coming to Razeel's aid. I unsheathed my D'k tahg it made a clicking sound that echoed off the walls when the secondary blades sprang to their positions. With a flick of my right hand I threw my D'k tahg, it went sailing through the air.
The Delta blade went through the neck of a vampire that was trying to outflank Razeel. The Klingon knife went cleanly through and the vampire's head fell away from her body as my knife embedded itself in a telephone pole. Razeel had brought her head up just in time to see the approaching vampire only to see its body disintegrate. She saw me approaching her and called out, "Guardian it's good to see you again" .
"The pleasure is all mine," I replied, pulling out my Mek'leth just in time to deflect an attack from a female vampire as she swung her fingernails at me.
"You really need a manicure, these t long nails aren't very becoming," I said as the blade cut through her nails. I brought the tapered edge of the Mek'leth around catching the haggard she-demon the chin and gave it a nasty gash "My Guardian, what big sword you have," Razeel commented when she saw the Mek'leth.
"The better to kill these vampires with," I smirked as I finished my swing, and my sword sliced through the vampire in front of me "And if you like this one I have a bigger one back at the Lair, but this battle called for close quarter combat," I smirked as I brought the Mek'leth around catching the smaller blade under the vampire's chin. The demon flew backward and into his companion. Razeel smirked then pulled out a wooden stake and with a flick of the wrist sent it to an approaching vampire striking its heart with deadly accuracy it was a little scary.
"It seems we keep bumping into each other tonight," I said as I stood back to back with the Slayer. I punched one vampire in the face sending it flying backwards into a trash can. While another vampire charged Razeel who in turn on her left foot wheeling around with her arm fully extended she drove the stake into the demon's chest killing it.
"That is the nature of our job," Razeel stated while driving she staked into a vampire.
"Yeah, yeah," I shrugged, swinging my Mek'leth cutting into my demonic foe; it screamed as it turned to ash at my feet.
"So is it true you have powers?" Razeel asked
"I do now," I replied
"So with your powers what can you do?" Razeel asked
"Oh small stuff," I said. As several wood pieces flew off the ground taking out the remaining vampires. The vampires all disintegrated before us. Razeel just smiled As the wind scattered their dusty remains. "Well thanks for your timely arrival." Razeel thanked me.
"My pleasure if you will excuse me I am here with friends," I replied
"Not a problem," Razeel commented
Plucking my D'k tahg out of the telephone pole and sheathing it as I went back to the emergency exit in another quick flash I changed back to my civilian clothes with a new hostler for my Mek'leth. I knew I wasn't done with it tonight. I was glad I could open it from the outside. Remembering I was supposed to be coming from the bathroom I made sure to look as if I was coming from there. I sat back down next to Jeff "Hey guys miss me?" I asked.
"Well one of us has," Jenny said with an oily smile that sent chills down my spine. I could sense terrible things from her. But I couldn't pinpoint what it was about her that made my spidey senses tingling for all I knew she could be a vengeance demon who didn't want to reveal herself or something.
"And who could that be?" I asked, looking at Jeff trying to shake the uneasy feeling in my gut.
"I have no idea what you are talking about," Jeff blushed.
The sound of glass shattering caught our attention, and for a moment those gut feelings were irrelevant. The vampires that I had spotted earlier were attacking one of the waitresses.
I turned to Drew giving him a knowing look then said, "Drew,"
He was taken back by my tone but I think it was just the sight of the vampires that was causing him the most trouble but then he spoke softly, "You are needed?"
"Yes," I nodded as I unsheathed my Mek'leth then advanced on the enemy
"Mike!" Jeff called as started to get up say to stop me but Drew intercepted him, "Jeff he has to do this,"
"What are you talking about?" Jeff demanded as he turned his attention in my direction
"Not here I know he will explain in good time," Drew assured.
"Where did he get that sword from I didn't see him bring one," Justin asked
Drew knew "Once again all will be explained in time," he reassured.
"Drew you know something don't you?" Nick asked eyeing his little brother
"I do and I can't say anymore." Drew replied.
Coming up to the Vampires "I don't believe restaurant patrons were on the menus," I remarked
"When the sign says help yourself it wasn't meant you eat the guest," I snickered and the whole bunch looked at me with a sneer. I smirked, "Now that wasn't very nice,"
"Oh look an encore," One of the male vampires sneered
"This is a fine dining experience and I am going to have to ask you riffraffs to kindly leave the property?" I sarcastically asked
"We paid for our reservation good sir and the sign said all you could eat," The female vampire licked her lips hungrily
"In that case your reservation is hereby revoked," I said, getting into a fighting stance.
One of the female vamps charged and I swung the Mek'leth; its secondary blade caught her jaw. Not only gave her a rather nasty cut on her chin, but sent her flying into an unoccupied table she hit it so hard the table shattered. The next vampire tried his luck only to get the point of my Mek'leth when I brought it around and cutting him in half; I was jumped from behind by the newly formed vampire that used to be a waitress. "This is not the way to treat your customers," I choked out. Trying to get her off of me without using any powers. Now was not the time for anyone to connect me with the Guardian in any way. The solution came to me when one of the male vampires charged me, pouching me in the stomach. Keeling over in pain, Grabbed the she-bitch vampire by her shoulder pulling the vampire around and threw her into her companion. I sent both flying into a pillar continuing with the move I stuck my foot out kicking the vampire in behind me. It hit the table so hard that pieces poked through his demonic body a moment later the vampire was dust in the wind.
"Whatever we might be thinking, I know one thing for sure, Mike can certainly kick some ass," Nick commented as they all sat watching their friend going toe to toe with the vampires. He managed to slice another vampire with his wicked looking sword while sending the remaining vampire flying into its friend. Mike walked over to the broken table, picked up the wood pieces and stabbed the remaining vampires in the heart with them.
When the dust was settled the restaurant broke into a cheer as Mike re-sheathed his sword and limped back to the table.
"You are okay Mike?" Jeff asked
"I am fine," I answered while trying to catch my breath.
"Sorry about that, guys I have been eyeing those vamps since we sat at this table," I informed us.
"You knew who they were didn't you?" Justin asked.
"There was something wrong the first moment I saw them and I had an idea what the were yes," I replied
"You could have warned us," Nick said
"I couldn't be sure especially since you have some many types of people out there," I replied
"Well I think it was amazing how you took them on," Drew said.
"Yeah, taking on five vampires was totally rad." Jeff commented, feeling very proud of me. It made me feel a little uneasy but I let it slide not wanting to send out mixed messages.
"By the way, where did you get that sword? I didn't see you bring one?" Justin asked
"I had it on me the whole time," I said, getting up showing where I had holstered my Mek'leth. I had a sheath under my shirt but it was easy to hide. Jeff seemed to be looking more at my chest and not to where I had put the sheath I gave him a wink making him blush. With the excitement over we were at least able to finish dinner I would be thanked by staff and patrons throughout but that was the extent of it and we left shortly afterwards Jeff insisted I come back with them.
That is it for this chapter more to come.
