Chapter Three -- A Taste of Leather

Leather points with his whip to the large stacks of stones and barks out new orders.

"I want to see who can carry three stones, not only the fastest across the beach, but stack them as they are stacked now," Leather says. "And if any of you feel you need encouragement from my whip, just grunt for me, and I will gladly give you a lash to push you on!"

The quickest of the men are sprinting for the boulders in an instant. Tarzan's mind is slower to leap into action, and he runs with the back of the pack for the boulders. The quickest get to the smallest of the piles, leaving the heaviest loads for the last to choose.

Tarzan is at one of the largest of the piles, wrapping his arms around the top boulder and using all his strength to lift it off the pile. Tarzan staggers to gain his footing, and Leather stands by with his cat o' nine tails ready and eager to start lashing anyone that needs the motivation.

Tarzan stumbles, tripping, grunting as he scrambles to keep his balance, struggling under the massive weight of the boulder. Leather walks behind Tarzan, happy that he gets to land the first lash of his whip on the ape man. The cat o' nine tails flies to its target, stinging Tarzan's back.

"Carry that boulder!" Leather yells, and Tarzan howls in surprise at the bite taken out of his flesh.

"AAAAGHGGHGHAGAGH!!!!!!!!!" Tarzan cries, lurching forward as he feels the whip bite into his ass, plowing full force across the beach, his huge legs grinding into the sand. His muscles are hugely pumped, and he grits his teeth as he hauls the boulder.

The sound of his whip lashing on Tarzan's back is euphoric for Leather, and he watches closely, so eager to assist the savage beast with another lash of his whip if need be. Tarzan gets across the beach, passing two warriors as he runs with his load, landing it hard on the ground in front of him and turning to sprint back for the other two boulders.

Leather licks his lips as he watches Tarzan, knowing he may be the one, so strong in body, and so weak in mind.

Tarzan gains ground, sprinting for the boulders. He gets his bulging arms around the next boulder and grunts as he lifts it in the air, stumbling backwards under the awkward weight. He barely catches himself, staying on his feet, slowly turning around and heading across the beach, grunting as he struggles to overcome inertia. He picks up steam as he quickly moves across the beach, his legs so clearly superior to any other buck on the beach.

Leather is quick to lash his whip at him, aiming at the same spot as Tarzan grunts.

"AAAAGGHGHAGHGAGAGAAGAGAG!!!!!!!!!!!" Tarzan howls, leaping ahead, quickening his pace as he rushes from the whip.

Leather studies how quickly Tarzan responds to the urging of the whip, being so foreign to him. The man-ape gets to the other side and drops his rock on the ground without thinking, turns and sprints back to the final boulder without missing a beat.

He is an incredible runner, low to the ground, his powerful legs propelling him through the air, a flash of action. Leather watches and can't keep from thinking that Tarzan would be the perfect animal for his horse cart.

Tarzan struggles to keep pace, moving past two other jungle bucks. He has caught the front of the pack as he struggles to get the final boulder off the ground. His legs spread wide, his mighty arms gripping the boulder with every ounce of strength, Tarzan grunting as he slowly gets it off the ground.

Leather gives him a good lash with his whip to encourage the beast.

"LIFT!!!" Leather commands.

"AAAAGHGGHGHGGHGAHGA!!!!!!!!!!" Tarzan howls as the whip bites into his ass. Tarzan's mighty muscles are trapped beneath the boulder, unable to defend himself. The strands of Leather's cat o' nine tails whip are wet now from Tarzan's sweat.

Tarzan stands up straight, legs still spread wide, grunting as he raises the boulder above his head in triumph. Leather gives him another lash of his whip as he raises the last boulder over his head.

"AAAGGHGAGHAGAGHGAAHAGHAGAGGAHGAHAGAGHAGAHG!!!!!!!!!!!" Tarzan roars as the whip darts between his wide spread legs, sharply biting at his balls.

Tarzan starts to respect the authority in Leather's whip, not understanding it, but deep down responding to the guidance and the feel of a whip. He plows forward with his boulder, taking his cue from the whip tearing into his flesh. He staggers across the beach, leading the pack, and drops his boulder where there is room, beyond the other two boulders.

Leather smiles slyly as Tarzan looks back at him for approval, like a dog does when he tries to please his Master.

"Well done, Tarzan!" Leather says, smirking.

Tarzan looks at the arrangement of rocks, scratching his head at the task of putting them back in order. The slower men arriving behind Tarzan drop their boulders dead center, where they've left a space, but Tarzan will have to move his other two rocks to make a space.

"Is Tarzan smart enough to remember how they were stacked?" Leathers says, standing by the savage stud, holding his whip in his hand. Tarzan quickly moves to grab the first two rocks, getting them out of the way. By the time he is grunting under the bottom rock, getting into the space he's created, the others are already placing their second rock.

Leather lashes his whip a couple times.

"Work faster, Tarzan!"

The first few finishers watch Tarzan react to the whip, having been spared it themselves, they view it differently than Tarzan, who seems to be taking it as a natural part of the contest. Tarzan moves quickly to catch up, but he can only get to a sixth place finish, still better than a handful of warriors.

Leather eliminates another, before moving on to a series of contests to narrow the field down to just the strongest of these jungle studs. He pairs up the remaining men for a series of tug-of-war contest with a leather rope, watching the men battle for his approval.

Tarzan stands near Leather after winning his bout, heeling like a dog beside his owner, subconsciously knowing his place. Tarzan is confident he is the strongest in all the jungle, but he recognizes that as strong as he is, it is Leather who has the power to determine and declare that strength.
