Part Six

On the way to the hospital Amy's hands were shaking and she was fidgeting as if she was willing Jody to drive faster. Jody drove up to the entrance so Amy wouldn't have so far to walk to get in the hospital. She didn't even have the car stopped before Amy was opening the door, running in, leaving the car door open. Jody had to laugh to herself hoping nobody got in Amy's way as she ran in to the hospital. She thought that girl has a bug up her ass for Taylor and god help the person who comes between them.

Amy ran up to the elevator which would take her to her floor. Upon the door opening a security guard was standing there asking to see her ID badge before letting her on to the floor. After passing through security she went to the nursing station.

"What are you doing here so early?" the other nurse asked her.

"I got a phone call and came in early. Which rooms are they in?" she asked the nurse.

"Clock in first. We are under tight scrutiny and security. I don't want either of us in trouble for doing anything while not on duty," she told Amy.

Amy went around the corner and clocked in showing she was on duty. She came back around and sat next to the other nurse so she could be filled in on what was going on.

"Two are in surgery and haven't been sent up here yet. I only have the names of them but no more information or the extent of their injuries or conditions. Two were sent to the coroner's office after being declared DOA. Three others were treated in the emergency room and to my knowledge were treated and released. I've been told that we will get the two in surgery assuming they survive. One nurse will be assigned to each. Since you are here first you can pick which one you want assigned to you," the nurse explained to Amy and showed her the two names on the list.

"Taylor, put me down assigned to her," Amy told her.

"You didn't hesitate on that. Are you a country music fan?" she asked Amy.

"No, it's more personal. She was my college roommate here at State College," she said leaving out that they were lovers and that Amy still had feelings for her.

"Oh Amy, I'm so sorry. Well I hope everything works out for her. I know she has the best RN in this section watching over her," she told Amy and placed her hand on Amy's to give her comfort. "First floor has said they will assign a third nurse to our floor for each shift so we can be available for these two patients whatever they might need. They are also going to have an aide assigned during the day to watch both of them while you are making your rounds. Apparently one of them made a sizable donation to the university recently. They have asked us since we are the teaching hospital for their medical program, to put extra staff and attention to them so they get the best of care. You already noticed security up here."

Amy nodded as she had to show them her ID to get on the floor.

"They will be checking everyone so as to not let just anyone walk into their rooms since they are celebrities," the nurse told her. "Anyone without proper ID or advance clearance has to be authorized by one of us or the attending doctors. No visitors are allowed without the patient's approval and no press or media are allowed period," she continued. "There isn't much we can do now until they are brought up from surgery. It still shows both of them in surgery and no other conditions have been posted yet."

Amy called Lana and told her what she knew and Lana said she would tell Jody who was down with her. Lana asked Amy if there was anything she could do in the meantime. Amy told her no, but thanks for her and Jody for being such good friends. Jody also got on the phone and reminded Amy she was the crisis counselor. If she or anyone else needed to talk to Jody just call as she didn't want any of this to bother Amy.

An hour later Amy's regular shift started and the other RN along with the extra that was assigned were ready. Each was briefed by the nurses who were going off shift about the other patients on the floor and about how the two country stars were to be handled. During this briefing the head of nursing came up and also gave them a briefing. She told them while they were providing extra attention to the two country stars, their other patients deserved their best attention too. If they got to the point of not having time to do both, just call and she would send another nurse up to assist. About this time they received a call advising them that one of the patients named Jackson was on the way up. She had been in surgery to repair a leg that had been broken in two places requiring pins and screws put in to hold it in place along with a broken ankle and three broken ribs. The other patient would be up in about an hour as he was in recovery right now. Amy recognized the name as the star that had made the introduction of Taylor at the university concert a little over a month ago.

Amy began fidgeting as this would be the first time in some five years she would be face to face with Taylor and this wasn't the ideal way of seeing her. She was afraid she might break down at seeing her in such condition. She tried to put her relationship with Taylor out of her mind and only see her as a patient that needed extra care but was struggling with that concept. The elevator on the other end of the floor, which was not a public elevator, but used for moving patients from floor to floor, opened. An aide pushed the mobile bed out followed by an RN from surgical recovery and a doctor. Amy directed them to the room that Taylor was to be put in which was only two down from the nursing station. Her medical training kicked in and at the moment she didn't think of Taylor in any way other than a patient.

They wheeled Taylor's bed into the room and hooked up the monitors to her so the nurses could monitor them from the nursing station or in the room. The doctor talked to Amy about Taylor's condition and gave her the medical chart indicating what medicines she was to receive and how often. He told Amy if the least thing seemed off to have him paged and he would be up. The biggest thing to watch for was infection or signs of internal bleeding as she had been almost directly at the point of impact from the truck that hit the bus.

Taylor was conscious but not very lucid as she was under heavy sedation just coming out of surgery. She would be in a lot of pain so she would be given pain control medicine for several days as needed. The doctor, surgical nurse, and aide left leaving Amy alone with Taylor. Amy made sure she did everything she was required to do as an RN before going to Taylor's side and looking down on her. Taylor's eyes were half opened and though she probably wouldn't recognize Amy or remember anything for a while Amy gently spoke to her touching her cheek and arm with her fingers, "Hey Taylor. You did it. You made it big like you said you would. I'm so very proud of you. Now it's my time to show you that I made it too and take good care of you while you are here. I'm sorry we had to meet under these circumstances."

Amy felt Taylor's arm move and she looked down to see Taylor lifting her hand up. Amy took Taylor's hand in hers and felt Taylor gently squeeze her hand. Amy smiled at Taylor feeling like she had just been injected with a hot liquid that was making its way through her body and sending warm feelings everywhere.

One of the aides who would be assigned to work on the floor today came in and asked Amy what she would like her to do bringing Amy out of her dream. "For now I want you to stay with her and monitor her vitals. If anything changes in the least, good or bad, come find me. If she tries to talk or move, come find me. Anything, ok?"

"Yes I can do that," she said and moved up next to the bed and looked over the monitors and looking over at Taylors leg and ankle.

Amy left the room and continued making her rounds to check on her other patients. Since they had added a third nurse and the aide, she wasn't kept busy like she normally was during a shift. She called down to Lana and told her about Taylor and the other singer who had been brought up. He suffered a broken arm and shoulder, a couple of ribs, and a concussion but his injuries weren't as bad as Taylor's were. He was already more alert and talking to the other nurses. A state trooper came in later that day and talked to him. Taylor was still not fully aware of her condition or surroundings from the pain medicine they were giving her so they didn't interview her. The trooper told them as far they could determine at this time, the bus was heading west on the interstate in the passing lane passing two slower trucks on the road. A semi traveling east, for some reason lost control and crossed over the median. It struck the bus on the driver's side pushing it into the other trucks it was passing. The bus driver and the semi driver were killed and Taylor and the other singer who were sitting on the left side of the bus were the most severely injured. Those on the right side of the bus or in the back received minor injuries.

As the day wore on Taylor was becoming more aware of her surroundings and started mumbling. The aide immediately found Amy who rushed in to see Taylor. Taylor was looking around as if lost, not knowing where she was and had a worried look on her face.

"Hey," Amy said to Taylor looking down at her and moving Taylor's hair from her forehead off the side of her face. "Are you awake enough to understand me?"

Taylor nodded her head not taking her eyes away from Amy but also like she was looking through her. Amy knew from her training Taylor was still under the influence of the drugs they were giving her and still not totally conscious of where she was. She also knew Taylor might not remember any of this conversation until the anesthesia completely wore off.

"Do you know where you are?"

Taylor slowly shook her head.

"You are in State College Hospital. Do you know what happened?"

Taylor again shook her head.

"The bus you were on was involved in an accident and you were hurt. You were brought here and I am going to take care of you until you are well enough to go home. Do you understand?"

Taylor nodded affirmatively.

Do you know who I am?"

Taylor didn't shake her head or nod but looked at Amy's face and eyes like she was trying to place her. She then slightly smiled and nodded her head.

Amy smiled back and asked Taylor, "Do you trust me?"

Taylor nodded.

"Good, you should because I have never lied to you and I would never do anything to hurt you. You can trust me completely. I will make sure you don't spend one day more than necessary in here and can get back to living your dream. I promise you," Amy said squeezing Taylor's hand and bending over kissing Taylor on the forehead.

The aide watching this waited until Amy had finished with Taylor and was walking out. "Do you always have this kind of rapport with your patients?"

Amy smiled at the aide explaining, "When I was your age and completing my practical lessons, Taylor was my roommate in college. We knew each other for two years before we graduated and went our separate ways. Seeing her again brings back those memories. I wish at times I was back there again. She means the world to me and I will do anything I can to make her comfortable and get better as quick as I can. Does that answer your question?"

"Yes it does. I can see your concern as you care for her. You two must have been very close."

Amy smiled at the aide patting her on the shoulder as she walked out of the room. Later that afternoon Amy's shift was ending and Jody and Lana were waiting downstairs to take her home. Amy went in to check on Taylor and tell her she would be back tomorrow. Taylor was more alert and while still groggy she was able to listen, understand and talk.

"Thank you for being here," she told Amy. When will you be back?"

"My shift starts tomorrow morning at 7:00am. I'll come in early to check on you," Amy told her. 'In the meantime sleep as much as you can. Your body needs it and it will help pass the time," she said as she patted Taylor on the arm and walked out.

That night Amy had trouble sleeping as her mind wouldn't stop thinking of Taylor. She thought back to their junior year and how they met, the first time they kissed and made love. She thought of their senior year and how in love and vibrant she felt until the realization hit they would be graduating in a few months and would be going in different directions. She thought of the time they wasted arguing over each other's dreams and of the final argument when she allowed under pressure, the doctor and nurse to use their spare bedroom to have an affair. That was the end of their relationship and after that they didn't talk until the last day after they graduated. They hadn't seen or heard from each other since. Before the accident and seeing Taylor play at the concert she had come to realize being with Taylor was the only time she was truly happy. Now Taylor was here though not in an ideal situation. Amy wondered how she could talk to Taylor and let her know how she feels. At the concert Taylor all but said she still loved her and wanted her. But would that come at a cost? After all she was an RN and Taylor was a very rich country music celebrity and they had very different lifestyles now. Would she fit in with the crowd that Taylor knew or would Taylor fit in with hers. Only time would tell and now was not the time to bring it up as Taylor had many months to go to heal. Once she was released from the hospital she would need extensive physical therapy to walk again and that would take many months. Amy drifted off to sleep and the next thing she heard was the sound of her alarm going off.

Amy walked into the hospital and up to her floor passing through the security that was even tighter now that the media had run the stories on the bus accident about who was in the hospital. Amy saw the TV stations trucks outside as they had broadcast the morning news and reported on the two people in the hospital. Amy checked in and looked over the reports of her patients. Seeing that everything was fine and she was really an hour early she walked in to check on Taylor. The room was almost dark as the sun was just rising. Taylor appeared to be asleep as Amy walked over to the bed and looked at the monitors. When she looked down at Taylor she saw Taylor's eyes looking back up at her. "Good morning. I didn't mean to wake you," She said smiling down at Taylor.

"I was awake. It's hard to sleep very long or well on my back like I am. And I can't move my leg without bolts of pain running through it. Plus you all seem to have to come in every time I get just to the point of being able to fall asleep and make just enough noise to wake me up," Taylor said smiling at Amy.

"Yeah, we pesky nurses can't seem to do our job of taking care of you without making some noise. Did you get any sleep at all?"

"A little but I don't know how much as I'm not always sure where or what's going on."

"That's the pain medicine you are on. It is on a timer and will release a little dose here and there to keep you sedated. If it weren't for that we would be in here more often and giving you shots for the pain."

"You've been through a lot. I'd tell you it will get better and it will, but it will be sometime before it does. You took a big hit in that accident and you are lucky to be here. The doctors will be in about two hours. They will fill you in on what you can expect. Can I get you anything? They will soon be bringing breakfast around too."

"I know I was in an accident. That's about all I can remember."

"Your bus was hit by a semi that crossed the median. I'm sure the state troopers will be back today to talk to you and they can tell you what happened. They've already talked to the others."

"Others? There are more here?" Taylor asked.

Amy nodded and proceeded to tell Taylor about the singer who was in the room next to hers and about some who were treated and released the morning of the accident although she didn't know who they were. She didn't mention the bus driver who was killed not knowing how Taylor would react. Taylor asked her how she could talk to the other patient next to her and Amy showed her how to use the telephone to call the room. She told her to wait and let her go see if the person was awake before she called.

Amy walked next door and saw the singer who she recognized as the one that had introduced Taylor at the concert and had said Taylor had agreed to go on tour with him. She told him Taylor wanted to know if he was awake so she could call him. He said sure tell her to call because he was concerned about her too and wanted to know how she was doing. He then thanked Amy for caring for Taylor.

Amy went back in and dialed the room next to Taylor handing her the phone before she turned to walk out. Taylor snapped her fingers at Amy to get her attention waving for her to wait and not leave yet. Amy came back in and sat in the chair next to the bed. She listened to Taylor and the other patient talk about what happened and then Taylor said, "Oh no, oh God no," and put her hand up to her face as Amy could see some tears come down her cheek. Amy got up getting some tissues and gave them to Taylor so she could wipe her eyes. Amy heard Taylor say something about they would have to take up a collection to give to his wife and do something for his son who was graduating high school this year to help him get through college. She heard her say she would call Johnny and have him start something. The phone conversation ended and she turned to Amy still wiping her eyes. "Why didn't tell me about Max?"

Amy knew right away Taylor was referring to the bus driver. "I didn't want to upset you and I didn't know how you would react. I knew in time you would have to be told but I figured it should come from one of your friends and not me."

"Amy, a long time has passed since our college days and we have both matured a lot since then. I know we didn't part on the best of terms but you've always been in my heart. I consider you one of my closest friends that could tell me news like that."

"I'm glad you do think of me that way because I think of you the same way. I won't keep anything from you again, okay? I'm sorry about your friend," she said and reached over to take Taylor's hand in hers.

Later that morning flowers started coming in. They had to tell Taylor they had more but there were too many to bring up and no room to put them if they did. Taylor asked them if they could take a picture of each arrangement with the card showing who had sent them. She asked if they could bring her the cards from the arrangements then donate the arrangements to those in the hospital who could use them to cheer them up.

Also later that day several country stars made calls to both patients checking on them and wishing them well. Johnny Robinson and his wife arrived at the hospital later that day to visit Taylor. Amy was making her final rounds and happened to be in the room when they arrived.

"Hey sugar, what are you doing goofing off in bed when you should be back at the studio writing?" he asked her as he walked in and up to the bed kissing Taylor on the forehead. Johnny's wife came over too and kissed her on the cheek and ran her fingers through her hair.

Taylor smiled at them, "Thank you for coming over here but you could have just called and chewed me out from home. You didn't have to do it in person especially in front of Amy here," Taylor said and held out her other hand pointing to Amy. "Johnny, Sandy, I want you to meet Amy Willows, my primary nurse and my college roommate. Amy, this is Johnny, my partner and his wife Sandy. I consider them to be my adopted parents."

"Nice to meet you both," Amy said extending a hand to each.

Johnny took extra time looking over Amy before focusing his attention back to Taylor. "Is there anything we can do for you while you are here? Not that they aren't giving you great treatment as I'm sure Amy is, but do you want us to look into you being transferred to Nashville to be closer to home and friends? We've already talked to Bobby and he is contacting the hospital to get your records. He says he will take over when you get back home."

"No I'm fine. The doctor said a week maybe two before they could release me. Then I can come home but will need help for a while until I can walk again. Then I have to go to therapy but we can work on those arrangements as we get closer. Tell Bobby when I get released he will be the first I go to as I know I'll be in good hands with him," she told Johnny.

"We told Melody after we heard the news. She got so upset when we told her she couldn't stop crying. She wanted to come over today but we convinced her it would be best if she waited until you were a little better and she was in a better frame of mind. We didn't want her over here crying the whole time and upsetting you," Sandy told Taylor.

"Thank you. When you get back make sure you tell her how much I love her and everything will be alright. We'll be together soon enough. Actually I should call her and tell her myself. I'll try this afternoon to get a hold of her," Taylor explained to Sandy.

"We've also talked with your mom. She apparently went on a cruise and won't be back for another week but we told her we would keep you company and if she were needed we would make sure she got here," Sandy told Taylor.

"Thank you for contacting my mom. My head is still not clear and it completely slipped my mind to call her before she heard it on TV. I don't even know what happened to my cell phone."

"It's probably in your personal items which are in the closet there," Amy said pointing to a small coat closet. "That would be anything you had on you when they brought you in except some of your clothes. They may have cut them off of you so they would have disposed of them." Amy then told Taylor she needed to finish her rounds before leaving for the day but would be back tomorrow morning. She told Johnny and Sandy it was nice to meet them then left.

When Amy walked out of the room she was devastated. If she heard right Taylor had someone in her life named Melody. She knew now she could not talk to Taylor about the two of them and would need to focus on treating her like a patient. She was almost in tears as she tried to finish her rounds.

After she was out of the room and out of earshot Johnny turned to Taylor and asked, "Is she the reason you wrote "Living without Love?" Taylor nodded. "And you happened to end up in the one hospital in the state where she worked?" Taylor again nodded with a smile. "Oh honey, she is a catch. I can see why you were so taken with her. Have you two talked at all? Is she available?'

"Johnny!" Sandy said. "Leave the poor girl alone. She was just in an accident that almost took her life and you think she is more concerned with her trying to rekindle feelings with someone she hasn't seen in several years?"

"Rekindle, my ass!" Johnny said. "She's never gotten over her and a half the songs she writes she is feeling what she had with Amy. I would say it's divine intervention that the accident occurred right here so the two of them could meet up again. If Amy feels the same as Taylor they could walk out of here together like they were never apart."

"Relax, Johnny. We haven't even discussed those years or how we feel now. Amy has been a professional and while she is treating me better than her other patients it's because she knows me or it's my celebrity status, not what she is feeling. I'm sure she has her own life now with someone else."

"She's not wearing any rings on her left hand and the way she looked at you when she was in here there is more to it than that. Before you leave here you had better have a talk with her. You've suffered several years thinking of her. Don't let this opportunity go to waste," Johnny told her.

"He's right sweetheart," Sandy told Taylor. "She did have a glow about her. You have been alone far too long. Either you mend whatever happened and see if you two are meant to be together or you need to put her out of your mind and find someone who does make you happy. We both love you like our daughter and we want the best for you and to find love and happiness like Johnny and I have."

"Sandy, would you look to see what I have in the closet please? I may have to get something else either from my suitcase that was in the bus or from home to wear when I go home. Plus my cell phone and necklace are gone," Taylor asked.

'Sure honey," Sandy said and opened the small door to the closet. Your boots are here and your blouse but your pants are gone. They probably had to cut you out of them so they tossed them. Oh, and here is a small bag with your cell phone, a couple of rings and a necklace. The one you wear all the time. Heaven forbid if you lost that. You never take it off."

"Thank you. Just give me that bag for now, Taylor said. "Johnny, could you find out what happened to my luggage, my guitar and banjo?"

"Sure, that probably all got impounded with the bus when they towed it away. I'm sure the state patrol has it all and is just waiting for you to pick it up unless the crew picked all of it up when they were released the morning of the accident," Johnny replied.

Later that night Amy went over to see Lana and Jody.

"It's over. She has someone else named Melody," Amy said. "Johnny told Melody not to come over for a few days and allow Taylor time to get better before seeing her because she was so upset. He didn't want Melody's crying to upset Taylor. Taylor told them to tell Melody she loved her and they would be together soon. She then told them she would call her and talk to her."

"I'm so sorry honey. I don't know what to say," Lana said. "Based on what she said at the concert, we thought she was still in love with you. I can't believe she would tell a story like that to bring up feelings unless she was just trying to get people to buy her song. It doesn't make sense to me."

"Me either, sweetie," Jody said. She sounded so sincere. I can't believe she would lie like that just to make money. This changes my whole opinion of her."

"Well, I just have to treat her like another patient from now on and try not to get too attached. Once she is released, that will probably be the last I see of her," Amy said sounding as if she were defeated and ready to move on.

Johnny let Taylor know they were going to stay a few days before heading back to Nashville. Before they left Johnny was able to corner Amy. He gave her a hug and thanked her for looking after their daughter. He also whispered to her so no one else could hear, "She won't admit it but she needs you. She has missed you for several years and unless you two resolve your differences she is never going to be happy. I can see it in your eyes. You need her too. Don't make the same mistake twice."

Amy pulled back from Johnny looking him in the eyes seeing he was very serious. She was now confused as she thought Taylor had someone else in her life. She finally said, "I can make no promises. It's complicated and much time, maybe too much has passed. We'll just have to wait and see."

"One of you has to make the first move. Don't wait for her. She thinks you have a new life and don't need her in it anymore," he continued to tell her.

Amy called Lana that night and told her what Johnny had said to her telling Lana she was more confused than ever. Both Lana and Jody agreed that mixed signals were being sent and they didn't understand any of it either. All they could do was to tell Amy to be strong and in time it would all work out. Maybe Johnny was right and she needed to make the first move and not wait on Taylor.

A few days later it was announced there were two visitors asking clearance to come visit Taylor. Their names were Sheila Winters and Melody Robinson. As Amy went in to check with Taylor if it were okay for them to come up she thought now she would see who this other woman is in Taylor's life. She must be related to Johnny and Sandy as they had the same last name. Maybe she was their daughter.

"Taylor, there is a Melody Robinson and Sheila Winters down stairs asking to come visit you. Do we let them through?" Amy asked. She saw Taylor's eyes light up and a big smile come to her face and it about broke Amy's heart but she stood there emotionless waiting on Taylor's response.

"Oh god, yes. Let them up and then come back in. I want you to meet them," Taylor told her.

Amy thought how cruel and insensitive to ask her to meet the woman in Taylor's life after giving the indication she was still the woman at her concert a month ago. She had half a notion to let the other nurse handle it but decided she would be mature about it and meet this woman who had apparently taken Taylor's heart away from her.

The elevator bell rang and two people stepped out. A girl most likely in her late teens and a beautiful woman about Amy and Taylor's age, maybe slightly older stood there. After checking with the guard at the elevator who waited for Amy's ok signal, they walked towards Amy. Amy pointed towards the door and took both into the room following her so she could see Taylor's reaction to them as they came in.

As soon as Melody and Sheila entered, Melody ran to her side and tried to hug her. Tears were coming down her cheeks as she approached Taylor.

"Not there sweetie," Taylor said without trying to move or yell. "That's the side where my ribs are cracked. Come around the other side."

"Oh, I'm so sorry," Melody said and ran to the other side almost knocking over Sheila as she went by.

"Excuse her," Sheila said to Amy. "Teenagers and their manners don't always follow the same path."

Amy smiled and replied, "It's ok. We've all been there and know how emotions can sometimes cloud our judgment."

Melody did get to the other side and she hugged Taylor around the neck being careful not to hurt her or move any of the IV's that were still in Taylor's arms.

"I was so worried about you and I couldn't wait any longer to come see you," Melody told Taylor as she still had tears rolling down her cheek.

"I'm fine. I have the best care I could get right here and when I get home I'll have your uncle Bobby to care for me. In no time I'll be back on my feet and kicking the soccer ball around with you," Taylor told her.

"Sheila, I want you to meet Amy Willows, my nurse while I'm here. Amy, meet Sheila, Johnny and Sandy's daughter and my best friend and sister. Sheila is married to Bobby, the doctor at home, who has requested all my information so he can take over once I get back home."

"Nice to meet you," Sheila said to Amy now realizing when Taylor said her complete name who Amy was. "Thank you for caring for our Taylor. She has become family to us and a sister to me. Knowing now she is in good hands makes us all feel a whole lot better."

"It's nice to meet you Sheila," Amy said as things were now racing through her mind trying to sort out who was who and their connection with Taylor.

"And this is Melody, my niece. She is Johnny's granddaughter, not to mention the love of my life, aren't you sweetie," Taylor said hugging on Melody.

"Nice to meet you, Melody. I take it Taylor and you have been playing soccer together?" Amy now sounding very relieved as she realized Melody wasn't Taylor's girlfriend but a special niece who Taylor was able to play soccer with.

"She has gone from third string goalie to first string in less than two years. If she keeps working at it she will be a top notch college recruit when she graduates from high school," Taylor said with a gleam that could only mean she was proud of Melody.

"I'll leave you all to visit as I have other patients I must check on. It was nice meeting both of you. Buzz me if you need anything Taylor," Amy said and turned to leave the room.

As soon as she was gone Sheila went over closing the door almost all the way. She then turned back to Taylor. "Is that who I think she is?"

Taylor smiled and nodded.

"Oh my god, Taylor! How did you manage to end up where she works? If that isn't karma I don't know what is! And she is gorgeous with a beautiful smile too. Now I see why you have held on to her memory so long," Sheila said.

"What? What are you two talking about?" Melody asked confused.

"I'll explain later Melody, but Amy, the nurse, was Taylor's roommate in college and her girlfriend," Sheila told Melody.

"Oh, really?" Melody said and pulled her head away from Taylor as she was resting it on Taylor's shoulder trying to be close without hurting her. "Are you two going to get back together?"

Taylor chuckled a little telling Melody, "She's my nurse sweetie, I'm sure she no longer has any interest in me other than treating a friend while in the hospital."

"I don't know about that my dear sister. I saw the way you both looked at each other. You had better take the opportunity that has been given you and find out if there is still something there. These things don't come around every day. Had we tried to locate her like we had discussed, there was never any guarantee we would have found her. She is not even close to where we would have started to look," Sheila told Taylor.

Taylor just nodded and changed the subject by asking Melody about school. The three of them visited the rest of the day and into the evening. Sheila told Taylor they were staying a few days so they would be back tomorrow before heading home.

Once Amy had left Taylor, Sheila and Melody, she quickly ran back to the nursing station grabbing her cell phone and hid behind the nursing station calling Lana. She didn't want to use the hospital phone as it was out at the counter and she didn't want others to hear her conversation.

"You'll never guess who came into visit Taylor a few minutes ago?" she said when Lana answered her phone.

"Hello to you too," Lana said with a giggle. "Ah how many guesses do I get and can you get me clearance to come up so I can get an autograph?"

"No, no it's not someone like that. Melody came in."

"Uh oh, and how was it? How pretty is she?"

"Oh she is beautiful and I can see why Taylor likes her so much," Amy said wanting to string this out and get the best of Lana.

"Well you actually sound like you are happy for her. I thought you would want to choke her or something for ruining your dream. Maybe you have moved on."

Lana, she's seventeen at the most. She's still in high school. She is the granddaughter to Johnny. Apparently Taylor and her get along great like an aunt and niece. They also play soccer together and Melody is a goalie on her high school team, so Taylor is working with her to improve her game."

"Oh, OH!" Lana said and then let out a laugh. "So she's not a girlfriend but a young girl who Taylor is playing soccer with and part of the family Taylor is friends with?"

"Yeah, but she is adorable. Good thing she is so young because even I would be attracted to her. But yeah, she is not her girlfriend but like a niece to her."

"That sounds a whole lot better. That is great and my faith in Taylor is restored as it just wasn't making any sense that she would lie just to sell records. And I bet you feel better too, don't you?" Lana asked Amy.

"Yes, I do. Well I need to go. I just thought I would tell you the latest," Amy said.

When the weekend came around the nursing station received a call from security there were two girls named Rita and Mandy wanting to see Taylor. Amy was off on the weekend but she had come by to check on Taylor and was in the room when the nurse came in to ask Taylor if security could pass Rita and Mandy up to her floor. A few minutes later both Rita and Mandy came into the room and both immediately went to Taylor to hug and kiss her.

"Oh Taylor, hun. When we heard it on the news we were so afraid. They mentioned your name but no information on your condition. We kept the television and radio on all day until they said you had survived. How are you doing? What do the doctors say?" Rita said.

"Nice to see you too," Taylor said laughing at both Rita and Mandy. "I'm fine and getting the best care a hospital can provide," she continued and looked over at Amy.

Both Rita and Mandy looked back at Amy, both with puzzled looks until it dawned on Mandy who it was.

"Amy?" Mandy asked.

Amy smiled and nodded her head. "Hi Mandy, hi Rita, long time no see."

"Oh my god, Amy!" Rita said. "Do you work here?"

"She's been my nurse since I was brought in," Taylor said. "Even comes in before and after her shift and today her day off to check on me."

"That's ironic, that you would end up in the hospital with Amy here," Rita said. "It's good to see you again Amy."

The four of them spent the next hour or so talking and passing the time away reminiscing about their times together avoiding the bedroom antics that happened between Rita, Mandy and Taylor when Taylor spent time with them.

Ten more days passed. Amy and Taylor while getting along well still were avoiding any conversations about their past relationship or if there was anything still between them. Amy was able to get Lana and Jody up to see Taylor and they were both thrilled to see her in person. Amy was called out of the room leaving Lana and Jody alone with Taylor.

"Has she told you she was at your concert a little over a month ago at the university?" Jody asked Taylor.

"No she didn't say a word about it. I told her I played at it and she didn't say anything."

"If she knows I said this to you she will probably hate me for life but when you played "Living without Love," she broke down and made us take her home. She cried the whole way home. For two weeks she moped around before she tried to reach you through your websites with no luck."

"I didn't know that. Those websites are run by a company that handles our public relations and unless I log onto it myself, I never see what's on them. The last month I've been traveling and haven't been on any of them."

Nothing else was said as Amy came back into the room followed by a doctor. Lana and Jody said their goodbyes to Taylor and left the room. The doctor told Taylor the last x-rays looked really good. He wanted her, with the help of nurses, to stand up and move around with a walker testing her strength and to see how her ribs felt. Once he was satisfied she could move without pain or difficulty, he would release her. She still couldn't put any weight on her left foot or leg. If all went well in about a month she would be able to start therapy putting small amounts of weight on the leg. He told her she had done great and other than some scars on her leg from the surgery, which in time would fade but never go completely away, she should not have any residual effects.

Taylor was very happy and kidding with the doctor asking him if this meant her goalie playing days were over. He said possibly but she still might be able to play if she did all of the therapy and continued to heal as well as she had.

Taylor was all smiles and forgetting that Amy was in the room, called Johnny to tell him the good news. Johnny told her they would come get her renting a van so she would have space to put her leg. They had already bought a wheel chair with a leg support so she could get around plus a walker and crutches for her and had looked into having a live in nurse until she was back on her feet. That was, unless she was bringing a particular nurse home with her. Taylor brushed off the comment from Johnny but she did look up not seeing Amy in the room anymore.

"I don't know what to do Johnny. We haven't talk about us and it seems like we are afraid to bring it up. My thoughts are she doesn't want me and so she avoids any conversation about feelings," Taylor explained to Johnny now sounding like she was asking for advice. "I think for the first time in my life I am really scared of being rejected."

"Taylor, honey. For a few years now I have watched you conquer many obstacles in your life. You've never backed down and always faced them square in the face. But also over the years I have seen a big hole in your life that is missing the one thing you need to complete you. I don't want to see you pass up an opportunity to fill that hole. You and I don't talk relationships, but since I think of you as my daughter, you need to step up and face what is in front of you. I know how much you love that girl and how much she has been a part of your life over the years. You can't walk away without knowing. You'll regret it the rest of your life sweetheart, and if you can't find a way I'll come over there and sit you both down to get this resolved once and for all," Johnny lectured Taylor just like a father would do.

"I know Johnny and you are right, as usual. It is just different with her. I do love her but at the same time I am afraid that she no longer wants or needs me. I shouldn't feel that way. Even her friends here have said she still cares for me. I just have to get the courage up and accept that she might reject me. Thank you for your advice and concern. I'll figure something out."

That night Amy had dinner with Lana and Jody. "I don't know what to do. I don't know how to even bring up the topic, let alone discuss it. It seems Taylor is avoiding it too because neither of us will say anything about our past." Amy explained to Lana and Jody. "It's just like we are back at college again. We avoided talking about our futures because we were afraid of losing each other."

"What does your heart say?" Jody asked Amy.

"I love her. I never stopped loving her," Amy said quietly.

"Honey, we have grown to love you very much and would hate to see you leave. What is worse would be for you to stay here and be lonely and always wonder what life with Taylor would be like," Lana said. "I know I can speak for Jody. We want you to be happy, even if it means leaving here and we are not able to see you everyday like we can now."

"Lana's right, Amy. You know where your heart wants to be and if you are not with Taylor you are never going to find happiness. You need to talk to her before she leaves. If she feels the same way, you will work it out," Jody told her. "If not, you still have us, and in time you will find the right person."

"I'm afraid she won't want me. Look at her with all her famous friends and money. How do I compete with that?"

"I don't think it's a competition. In all these years she has never been linked to anyone romantically. She obviously is either still in love with you, or she is not interested in anyone in that regards. You won't know until you try. You need to tell her what seeing her again has meant to you. Tell her how you wish you two could start over again but you understand time has gone by and she probably doesn't feel that way. Tell her you still care for her and hope she finds love and happiness or if she already has, then be glad for her," Lana explained to her.

The next day Amy went in to Taylor's room to help her with her therapy getting up and walking. With Amy and an aide helping they had her walk out into the hall. "Wow, all this lying in bed has made my good leg weak," Taylor said.

"Well, I'll just have to get you out kicking the soccer ball around some to work up the strength in your legs," Amy replied.

"Yeah, that would definitely do it, but I think that's a long time down the road. I think this kind of walking is all I can handle for now. Maybe you should come over and help with my therapy sometime," Taylor told Amy.

"I would love to come over if you want me too," Amy responded now seeing an opening in their conversation.

"I would too. It's too bad we don't live closer. It would be nice to see you more often," Taylor responded also seeing an opening to get things started.

"That would be nice. I would like to see you more often too," Amy said now getting more direct.

"I, uh, I, umm," Taylor now fumbling with what to say.

What are you trying to say, Taylor?"

Taylor paused in her walking. Both the aide and Amy stopped too as Taylor was now looking directly at Amy. "Amy, I can't stop shaking I am so afraid of what you will say."

"Afraid of what I'll say to what, Taylor?"

"All this time and I have never stopped loving you and I can't see me living over there knowing you are here," She paused again, before continuing this time with a little bit of hesitation. "Is there a chance we can start over again?"

Both Taylor and the intern were now staring at Amy waiting on her response. A tear appeared in one of Amy's eyes as she looked at Taylor. "Only if you have forgiven me for what happened our senior year and believe me when I tell you I never cheated on you."

"Down deep I always knew you didn't cheat on me. I used that as an excuse because I knew it would be harder to walk away from you if we were still seeing each other at the end of the school year. We weren't getting along because we were both stubborn and wanted the other to relinquish their dream for the sake of the other. It was easier to walk away not speaking then to walk away knowing we were throwing something good away."

"You still haven't said if you forgive me for creating all that mess," Amy said as they stood there in the hall staring at each other with the aide standing next to them not knowing what to do or even what was going on.

"I forgave you the day I moved out. It was just as much my fault as yours, if not more so. You have to decide whether you can forgive me," she told Amy.

"I forgave you when you moved out too. I knew it was all my fault and I couldn't blame you for how everything appeared to you. I think I was thinking the same as you were. It was better to part with us not speaking. I didn't want you to see me cry when you left. Having you mad at me and moving out solved that. I cried for a week after you moved out knowing what I was throwing away but afraid that I was going to lose you anyway once you started traveling. I refused to even listen to country music or Google your name because I didn't want to find you had made it big or worse you had found someone else to be with that made you happier than me. It wasn't until Jody and Lana knew we had roomed together, they told me all about you, and made me go to your concert at school a few months back. When you sang that song I lost it. I made them take me home. For weeks I couldn't sleep. It wasn't your fame or money I cared about. I realized it was with you was the only time I was truly happy in the last several years and I had thrown it away." Amy's eyes watered up as she spoke to Taylor and had she looked at the aide she would have seen her wiping her eyes too.

Taylor leaned over as far as she could with the walker but close enough that Amy could tell she was moving close to her. She knew what Taylor was wanting and she took her hands to Taylor's face and leaned in and kissed her lips. It was the first time in over five years for either of them that a simple quick kiss felt so good and warmed them to their bones. Neither had been paying attention but the other nurses had been watching them and when they kissed they heard an aww come from in front of them. As they both blushed and smiled, Taylor said she needed to sit or lay down as her arms and right leg was getting tired from supporting her. The aide and Amy got Taylor back in bed and then the aide excused herself so Taylor and Amy could have some privacy.

"What do we do now?" Amy said.

"The first thing I want you to do is to put this on me," Taylor said and leaned over to the table next to the bed pulling out the drawer and the bag that had her rings, cell phone and necklace. She pulled out the necklace and handed it to Amy. "I've worn it almost every day since you gave it to me," she told Amy.

Amy had tears in her eyes and took the necklace and put it on Taylor. "How did you know it was from me?"

"Who else would have? My mom didn't. I wasn't seeing anyone at the time and the university didn't as I was the only one to get a gift. I just knew it was you," she softly spoke and her eyes showed the love she had for Amy.

"I bought it for you before we broke up. I was waiting for the right time to give it to you but we broke up. After that I debated whether or not to give it to you until the awards ceremony came along. I knew that was my last chance to give you something to remember me by. I asked the waiter to place it on your seat while you were on the stage accepting your award. After that I avoided looking at you because I didn't want to see your reaction when you opened it afraid it would tear my heart out."

"Amy, I never stopped loving you. I won't ask you to give up working as I know you love being a nurse, but I can more than easily support the two of us. If you want to work then I'll hire you to take care of me until I am able to walk on my own. After that the Nashville area has many big hospitals that I'm sure you can find a position you want. Will you come live with me?"

"At least in the short term I do want to work. I spent four years of college earning a degree and I don't want it to go to waste plus I love helping others. More importantly I don't want to live another day without you. I love you too much and have missed you more than I could ever tell you."

"I don't either. Not having you with me when I was penniless or rich to share my life with has been the loneliest I have ever been. Not a day went by that I didn't think of you is some way. I love you Amy," Taylor said.

"I love you too," Amy said lovingly. "I guess I had better put my two week notice in and take my vacation time starting as soon as you are discharged so I can go home with you," Amy smiled and leaned over kissing Taylor more passionately.

The next couple of days were extremely busy for Amy. She put in her notice as soon as she left Taylor that afternoon. She called Lana and Jody to tell them the news. They were ecstatic and sad to hear the news. They told Amy they would pack up her furniture and other belongings and clean her apartment for her. They would bring them over once Amy told them where to bring them so they could visit her and Taylor. Taylor called Johnny and told him she had hired a nurse who would be coming with them to her place making both Johnny and Sandy very happy. Johnny told Taylor once Lana and Jody had Amy's things ready to be loaded, he would send some men over to pick them up and bring them over to Nashville. Lana and Jody were welcomed to come at that time or wait until it was more convenient for them.

As Taylor was being wheeled out of the hospital with Johnny, Sandy, and Amy at her side, hospital staff came into the halls to wish them well and get a glimpse of Taylor. But more importantly they were saying goodbye to Amy who they were going to miss. By the time they got to the van Amy was in tears. "You can always stay if you want," Taylor told her seeing what Amy was giving up to leave with her.

Amy looked down at Taylor in her wheelchair placing her hands on her hips, "I just got you back in my life and already you are trying to get rid of me. I won't lie to you. I will miss this place and my friends, but where I'm headed is the biggest part of my dream that hasn't come true. I wouldn't be complete if I stayed here and not be where you were. But if you don't want me to go I will stay. HR did tell me I always had a job if I wanted one," she said with a smile on her face.

"Johnny, Sandy, get Amy and me in the van and out of here before I feel guilty taking Amy away from all this or she changes her mind," Taylor said and chuckled.

Johnny laughed back and pretended to run in place to get to the van.

Once in the van before leaving the hospital, Johnny turned to Amy, "You are going to fit in perfectly. Anyone who can control Taylor like you can is going to be fun watching," he said and both he and Sandy laughed as Taylor looked like she had been caught with her hand in the cookie jar.

On the drive over to Nashville both Johnny and Sandy made Amy feel comfortable coming with them, telling her about the family and what to expect as the grandkids favorite Aunt would be coming back. They told her to expect a full house most times if Taylor was not able to walk on her own, as they all have been arguing who would be there to take care of Taylor.

As they drove up to Taylor's home, down the one hundred and fifty yard driveway with horses grazing in the pasture, Amy was looking out the side window.

"This is beautiful Taylor. Is this all yours?" She asked.

"Yep. I bought it last year so it is still new to me but it's all mine and now ours," Taylor said with a sense of satisfaction and pride.

"It's beautiful. And you have horses too. What are their names?" Amy innocently asked.

Before Taylor could answer Johnny was looking in the rear view mirror and Sandy turned to hear how Taylor was going to answer this question.

"The paint's name is Socks. He was named that because if you see each of his feet it appears he is wearing socks," Taylor replied very slowly. She hesitated as Amy nodded indicating she could see the dark colored bottom of the horse's legs that looked like socks compared to the rest of his white legs.

Taylor had yet to answer about the other horse when out the front door of her house came Marta, Sheila, Molly, Billy, and Melody.

"Oh look, the welcoming committee," Taylor said thankfully being able to change the subject.

The van pulled up in front and everyone hurried up to the van to see Taylor and help her out. They all took turns giving Taylor a hug and telling her welcome home barely allowing her to completely exit down the handicap ramp on the side of the van.

"Everyone this is Amy," Sandy told them pointing to each telling Amy who they were.

"Are you Taylor's nurse?" Molly asked Amy.

"Yes, I am," Amy replied.

"What was your name again," Molly asked.

"Amy, Amy Willows," Amy replied.

"Oh, just like Willow, Taylor's horse," Billy innocently interjected.

At that Johnny and Sandy quickly turned towards Taylor to see her reaction.

"You named your horse Willow?" Amy turned to Taylor who now was trying to wheel her wheelchair away ignoring Amy.

"Oh no you don't, cowgirl," Amy told her grabbing the wheelchair by the back handles preventing it from moving. "Did you name your horse, Willow, after me?"

Taylor was stuck now as she couldn't escape Amy's grasp on her wheelchair and she was in front of everyone. Both Johnny and Sandy were chuckling at Taylor who had the look of a deer caught in the headlights.

"Uh, yeah," she said but it was more of a sheepish reply and not very loud as she was turning a little red in the face.

Amy didn't say anything in front of everyone but she did lightly squeeze Taylor's shoulder.

"Like I said, Amy. It's going to be fun watching you two and seeing how you can control Taylor," Johnny said and laughed some more.

Melody asked if she could wheel Taylor into the house. Johnny helped her back the wheelchair over the steps onto the porch and the step into the house.

Melody wheeled Taylor into the living room where she had a view out the back of the house overlooking more pasture and the swimming pool.

After everyone talked for a while getting to know Amy, Taylor announced she was getting tired. She asked Amy to take her into the bedroom so she could lie down. Everyone left except Melody who asked if she could stay with her favorite aunt. Amy and Melody helped Taylor get in bed and comfortable. They sat there with her for a few minutes until they could see her eyes closing. Both Amy and Melody left Taylor to nap and went out to the kitchen, sitting at the table to talk.

Melody fixed them each a sandwich and got them something to drink as they talked. Amy instantly bonded with Melody and found why Taylor was so fond of her. She was not only a pretty girl but very sweet and driven. She told Amy her goal was to attend State College where Taylor and Amy had gone and play soccer majoring in business. She already had scouts from the school and some others come watch her play and attempt to recruit her. Her goal though was to attend where Taylor had gone and to follow in her footsteps as a goalie. She told Amy her older brother Jonathan was already away at college but chose an out of state school because he wanted to major in accounting. The school he was attending was one of the best in the country for majoring in accounting.

Later that afternoon after Taylor was rested Melody asked if it was okay if she spent the night. Amy was the first to answer yes surprising Taylor with how fast the two had bonded.

That night after Amy and Melody were able to get Taylor changed and in bed, Melody retired to one of the spare bedrooms. Amy went into the bathroom to get ready for bed and to sleep next to Taylor for the first time in many years. When she came out of the bathroom, she found Taylor had already fallen asleep. Amy crawled in bed next to Taylor pulling the covers up, staring at the sleeping Taylor. She thought to herself as she looked at Taylor, that she couldn't be any happier than she was right now even though it wasn't the best of conditions that brought them back together. She lightly kissed Taylor on the lips so as not to wake her up and whispered to her, "I love you so much my beautiful Taylor."

The next morning Taylor woke up with Amy lying next to her sound asleep. She lay there for a few minutes staring at a sleeping Amy thinking she was so thankful that Amy was back in her life. Then she realized she had to pee so she had to wake Amy up to help her get out of bed.

"Amy, wake up. Amy, I need to pee," she said shaking Amy with her one hand.

Amy had been sound asleep, content for the first time in years, until she felt herself being shaken. "What, what is it? Are you okay?" She said startled.

"Yes, but I have to pee. Can you help me up?" Taylor responded.

"Oh, sure," Amy said now aware that everything was ok. As she helped Taylor into her wheelchair she noticed the time. "Wow, I can't believe I slept this late. I haven't slept this late in years," she told Taylor.

"If I hadn't had to pee, I would still be asleep too. I think having you in bed with me was all I needed to fully relax and sleep soundly."

Amy helped Taylor into the bathroom then helped her on to the toilet. "How much longer will I need your help just to go pee? Not that I don't mind you seeing me pee, it's just a sense of helplessness right now and it's not erotic at all."

Amy chuckled slightly replying to Taylor, "I didn't know you had gotten into water games since we were last together? Are there any other kinky things I need to prepare for when you are healthy?"

Taylor half laughed back, "Oh, I think I'll just wait and spring them on you when I have you at your weakest so you can't say no."

"Great. Well, just don't go too far without giving me some indication." There are things I might say yes to but there are some things I definitely will say no to also. But that is a ways down the road. As far as you peeing without my help, that's up to your doctor, not me. He is supposed to come over this morning. I forgot his name already," Amy told her.

"Bobby, he's married to Sheila and their two kids are Billy and Molly who were here yesterday," Taylor said.

After they got up and presentable, Amy wheeled Taylor out to the kitchen where she began to make coffee for the two of them. A few minutes later Melody came stumbling out wearing a bare midriff t- shirt, obviously with no bra as her nipples were pointing out of her shirt, and bikini panties which showed how shapely and toned her legs d butt were. Amy looked at Taylor who didn't seemed bothered by the way Melody was dressed figuring she had seen her many times like this, so it was natural to see her half dressed.

Melody walked over to Taylor bending over kissing her on the cheek and telling her good morning. When she did Amy had a perfect view down her top. She could see two small but perfectly round and tight breasts with nipples poking out. To Amy's surprise after kissing Taylor, Melody walked over to her kissing her on the cheek telling her good morning too.

"Good morning," Amy replied. "Would you like some coffee or would you like something else? "

"Coffee is fine. You want me to make y'all breakfast?" Melody asked.

"I just want some toast and maybe a fried egg if you don't mind," immediately spoke up.

"I'll have the same thing," Amy added. "You want me to help you?"

"No, I got this," Melody said and proceeded to get everything thing out that she needed to fix breakfast for the three of them.

At breakfast Taylor asked Melody how the recruiting was coming. Melody told Taylor that she knew she was getting offers from State, plus possibly three other schools.

Taylor began to tell Amy about Melody when Amy interrupted Taylor to say while she was napping yesterday she and Melody chatted and she already knew about her soccer.

Amy then not minding that Melody was there asked Taylor, "Why did you name your other horse Willow?"

Taylor hemmed and hawed then finally she said, "When I got her I thought she was the most beautiful horse I had ever seen and that thought made me think of you. I didn't know at the time less than a year later we would be back together."

Melody could see that Amy was tearing up so she changed the subject, "Amy, how much longer do you think Taylor will be in the wheelchair?"

Amy paused before answering to compose herself, "I don't think more than four to six weeks before she can use a walker or crutches. But that is up to her doctor which I believe is your Uncle Bobby who should be here in a few minutes."

With that Melody said, "oh shit," and got up and left the room in a hurry.

Taylor laughed as Melody left the room. "She gets embarrassed at males seeing her half dressed but she doesn't care if I or another woman sees her. I think she might be leaning our way but she has never said anything so until she does I just ignore it."

"Maybe with me here she will open up to both of us if she feels more comfortable. Do you want me to try and get the conversation started as an innocent new person to the family?"

"No, let's just give her time and see if she will tell us. She reminds me of you though."

"Me? How does she remind you of me? She's more like you with her athleticism and love of soccer."

"Didn't you just see her body?" Taylor asked. "She's built like you with that tight butt and perfectly round breasts. She reminds me of you when we were in college."

"Yes, I got an eye full when she bent over to kiss you this morning. And just what do you mean reminds you of me in college? Meaning I'm not tight and sexy anymore?" Amy asked now chiding Taylor.

"No, no, I meant she is young and beautiful and that's what my draw to you was back then. She also has a personality like yours. You still are the same but neither of us are 17-19 anymore."

"Ok, I'll let you slide on that one. She is adorable and I must admit seeing her dressed like that and bending over it did give me a little tingle inside."

"Yeah, she does to me too but when I said I'd spring my kinkiness on you, I wasn't including having a three way with her in mind," Taylor said and they both chuckled.

As they were discussing Melody, the front door opened and a man called out Taylor's name.

"In the kitchen, Bobby," Taylor called back.

"Oh hi," Bobby said as he walked in and saw Amy. "I'm Bobby Winters, Sheila's husband who I think you've already met," he said as he put his hand out for Amy.

"Hi, Bobby. I'm Amy Willows. Yes, I met her and Billy and Molly too. You have two beautiful and sweet children."

"Thank you, but you must have seen them on their best behavior. So how has our patient been so far?" Has she been giving you a hard time? I can give you a script for some sedatives that will keep her very docile if she if getting too demanding?" Bobby said laughing as he was teasing Taylor.

"She's been a sweetheart but I may take you up on the sedatives if she does start giving me a hard time," Amy said laughing back.

"Well turn around Taylor so I can get a look at your leg. I may need you to come by my office today or tomorrow so I can get an X-ray taken. The one I got from state hospital is three days old and a lot can happen in that time especially with you being moved after being discharged." Taylor turned so Bobby could check her leg. He looked over her foot checking her toes for discoloration then looking at her dressing and braces on her leg.

"Are you still having sharp pains?" He asked.

"Only occasionally. But they are not as strong as they used to be."

"Good, after going over your charts you had a good surgeon at State. He did a good job of placing the pins and screws with minimal invasion and it looks like it is healing really nice. If it keeps going hopefully you will be out of this cast and walking with minimal help in another four weeks. Amy I want you to get Taylor to do some exercises with her right leg so it doesn't atrophy too much. About a half hour twice a day should be enough for her right now. Don't put any pressure on her left leg for a few weeks yet."

As Bobby was giving instructions to Amy and Taylor, Melody came walking into the kitchen wearing a tank top and short denim shorts and shoeless. "Hi Uncle Bobby," she said as she went over to him and kissed him on the cheek.

"Hi sweetheart," he said.

"Any questions for me?" he asked to Taylor and Amy.

Both shook their heads no.

"Well then I need to get in to work. Sorry, I would like to stay and chat for awhile but I have two surgeries lined up for today. Amy it was nice to meet you. Melody, don't be a pest. If she is too much, send her home Taylor though I suspect she will be more help than not," he said as he put his arm around Melody's shoulder and leaned down kissing her on the top of her head. "I'll have Sheila or Johnny help you two get to my office so we can have that leg x-rayed either this afternoon or tomorrow."

"Thanks Bobby," Taylor said as he turned to walk out the door.

After Bobby left Taylor turned to Melody, "Why aren't you in school today? You didn't skip school to hang out here did you?"

"No, I didn't skip school. It's a teacher's work day. For students, it's a holiday. I do have soccer practice this afternoon so I have to leave by three. I wanted to be here with you when you came home."

"Come here sweetie. You know how much I love you and even if you had skipped school, I would have been thrilled to have you here," Taylor said to Melody and gave her a big hug and kissed her on the cheek.

Amy smiled at the love that was shown between not just Melody and Taylor but of all of Johnny's family towards Taylor. She knew after not even one day this is where she was meant to be. During the day both Taylor and Melody talked to Amy about the family and about Taylor's house. They explained where everything was located both in the house and the surrounding area. They told her Sheila and Bobby live about a mile away and that Johnny and Sandy about eight miles away. Jimmy and Marta live close to Johnny so they all were within a short distance of each other.

Later that afternoon after Melody left for practice, Amy and Taylor were left alone for the first time since arriving home. "Finally I have you alone," Amy told Taylor.

Taylor laughed and said it's been like grand central station around here and until things quiet down you can expect more of it.

Amy came over to Taylor and though she wanted desperately to sit in Taylor's lap instead she placed her arms around Taylor's neck kissing her while she ran her fingers through her hair.

"Mmmm, that feels good. Do you think we might be able to get in the bed for a while and continue this?" Taylor asked.

"Are you up to more than kissing? I don't want you to move the wrong way and instead of screaming in ecstasy you scream in pain?"

"We won't know until we try, will we? Wheel my lazy butt in the bedroom. I've been waiting several years for this to happen."

Amy wheeled Taylor into the bedroom and up to the bed. She was helping her out of the wheelchair when a familiar voice was heard coming in the front door.

"Taylor, Amy, you all in here?" Sheila asked.

"Just getting in the wheelchair, Sheila. We'll be out in a second," Taylor called out. Then she whispered to Amy, "Rain check? Maybe we should start locking the door or put a sign up "fucking our brains out, come back later."

Amy laughed telling Taylor this was the price to pay for having so many people who love you. Sheila didn't stay long but mainly came by on her way home to tell them Bobby had called her and asked her to help Amy get Taylor into his office tomorrow for an X-ray. They made plans for when Sheila would come back tomorrow.

That night they finally were alone. Amy cuddled up to Taylor putting her arms around her and running her hand through her hair. "I couldn't be any happier than I am now holding you in my arms again. If I ever fail to say it, I love you so very much."

"I feel the same way. There were times I never thought I would ever see you again and I had to do something to distract from that feeling because my heart ached so badly. I didn't think it would ever find love again. Make love to me," Taylor lovingly said to Amy.

Amy responded by kissing Taylor on the lips. Taylor moaned into Amy's mouth wrapping her arms around Amy pulling her down on her upper body. Amy wrapped her left hand around Taylor's head and shoulder and her right hand around Taylor's waist. They kissed and moaned as they each could feel tears from the others face against their own. Amy pulled back and looked at Taylor, "Why are you crying?"

"Probably for the same reason you are. I never thought I would see you again let alone have you next to me like you are now. I can't tell you how sorry I am for the past and how happy I am right now. I feel like I am the luckiest girl on this earth and my heart is about to explode with the love I have in it for you," Taylor through her tears told Amy.

"It was meant to be for us to part for those years. We had to grow into our love and get over any doubts and hesitations we had back then. I feel the same as you do and never do I want to be apart from you again. You are my dream and without you there is no life. I promise you I will be with you forever and ever loving you with every breath I have," Amy whispered back to Taylor.

Amy let her hand ease up to Taylor's chest running it across finding Taylor's breast squeezing it lightly making them both moan and forget the tears that had been shed. As she massaged Taylor's breast she moved her leg on top of Taylor's right leg. They kissed until their breathing was becoming more rapid and they needed to break the kiss to breathe. As they did they looked each other in the eyes seeing the remnants of tears they had shed over their happiness they had rekindled. Amy let her hand slide down Taylor's stomach and across her boxers she had to wear to get over her cast, feeling her moist pussy. Taylor gasped and moved slightly causing Amy to stop to be sure Taylor was okay and not in pain.

"It's okay. I need to try to keep still so I don't move my leg too quickly," she told Amy. "Please don't stop. I really want you touching me there," she pleaded. Amy just smiled and placed her hand back but this time she slid it under Taylor's boxers feeling her bare skin and wet hot pussy lips.

"I can see someone needs to shave. I guess being in the hospital all this time you haven't exactly been paying attention to details," Amy said and pulled on some of the hairs that had grown around Taylor's pussy. Her hand slid down the side of each of her labia's and then back up through Taylor's slit finally touching Taylor's clit. Taylor moaned and with her hands pulled Amy's face to her own, kissing her with all the passion she had. Amy's fingers began sliding down and up Taylor's pussy in a faster rhythm making Taylor moan louder. After a few minutes of her rubbing Taylor she broke the kiss and bent down so she could place her tongue on Taylor's pussy. Taylor moved her right leg open as much as she could but her left leg had to stay where it was. Amy was able to still move her head between Taylor's legs and licked her from the top to bottom of her pussy. She used her tongue to lick and fuck Taylor's pussy until she felt Taylor start to tighten up signifying her pending orgasm. She then moved her mouth up and licked then sucked Taylor's clit into her mouth twirling her tongue around Taylor's clit. Taylor was wetter than Amy had ever remembered her being with her juices running down between her legs onto the bed. Amy had sucked as much of it in as she could in her mouth enjoying the taste. Taylor wasn't able to hold out any more and screamed she was cumming.

"Oh god Amy, yes. Oh god, I'm cumming. Aghhhhhhhh! Her body stiffened and she gripped the bed sheets trying not to move too much so her leg wouldn't hurt. After her orgasm subsided Amy kissed Taylor's clit and moved back up lying next to Taylor kissing her on her lips.

"I love you Taylor," she whispered.

"Take your pjs off and come up here so I can do that to you," Taylor told Amy.

"Are you sure it won't hurt you?"

Taylor leaned over kissing Amy and letting her hand go to Amy's breast squeezing it and pinching her nipple. "Oooh, it's been so long. I love your fingers on my breasts," Amy gasped. She then proceeded to pull her top off and slide her bottoms down.

Taylor let her hand move down Amy's stomach and over Amy's mound. That was all Amy needed and she climbed on top of Taylor's upper chest and inched her way up to Taylor's face. Once she had her pussy over Taylor's mouth she lowered her self holding on to the headboard for balance. Taylor let her tongue out as she watched the most beautiful pussy she had ever seen come down to her mouth. She stuck her tongue out and licked Amy from the bottom of her pussy to the top teasing her clit with a little swirl when she reached it.

"Oh god, Taylor, yes. Oh god, that feels good. More, keep going," Amy moaned.

Taylor kept licking Amy tasting her sweet juices. She swallowed as much as she could hoping that Amy had more for her to taste. She kept licking and when she got back up to Amy's clit she sucked it in to her mouth sending shivers up Amy and making her grind her pussy harder into Taylor's face. Taylor repeated her movement over and over making Amy move faster back and forth grinding her pussy harder into Taylor. Amy was feeling like she was in heaven as she felt her orgasm quickly building as she exploded on Taylor's face soaking Taylor and the pillow beneath Taylor's head. After she had calmed she moved off of Taylor and lying next to her placing her head on Taylor's chest exhausted. Taylor lay there several minutes with Amy in her arms. She could feel Amy's breathing change and she knew she had fallen asleep. She ran her fingers through Amy's hair saying just barely audible, "I love you with everything I have Amy Willows."

Over the next week Amy and Taylor settled in as a couple. Taylor was getting around better and was able to wheel herself. She had gotten back into writing in her music room at the house. In fact one day she told Amy she had to get to the music room and bring her several soft drinks and some food then close the door and leave her alone. Amy became worried and called Johnny.

Johnny told her he would come over but not to worry. It most likely was Taylor had a song come to her, and she would hide in the room having to get it out of her mind and on paper.

A week later, Taylor had the cast taken off her ankle. She was now able to put light pressure on her foot. She moved quickly from the wheelchair to a walker to crutches. Bobby said her fitness had played a big roll in her recovery and she would soon be walking on her own.

A month later she told Amy she had finished the song she and Johnny had been working on plus a few others. They had even sold most of them. The special one, Taylor wrote about her and Amy's relationship which she played for Amy. Taylor continued to heal and other than scarring she showed no signs of the accident. Her and Amy's relationship was better now than ever. They both had realized their dreams with Amy going back to work at a local hospital in the critical care unit. They were even working on Amy getting pregnant using a donor sperm.

The following year the CMA's were announced and Taylor was nominated for song writer of the year for the song she wrote about her and Amy called "When Country Dreams Come True." Taylor and Amy attended the ceremony.

When it was announced Taylor had won the category, after kissing Amy, she walked onto the stage to accept the award and give her acceptance speech. At home Johnny and Sandy were watching with great pride as they now had a new daughter in Amy and were so happy to see them both on TV. It wasn't lost on Johnny that the two biggest hits and CMA winning songs Taylor wrote were about Amy. He knew in Taylor's heart there could never be anyone she was more in love with than Amy.

At college watching TV in her apartment was Melody, in her sophomore year, and the starting goalie on the State College soccer team. There were those who were already comparing her to Taylor Jackson saying she might even be better than Taylor. Next to her was her roommate, teammate and girlfriend Jessica.

When Taylor reached the stage she kissed her first two fingers and raised them over her head to pay tribute to her dad. She looked back at Amy, winked, kissed her fingers and placed them on her heart signifying her love for Amy. She then on cue pulled out her necklace with the soccer ball kissing it and pointing to the camera. Taking that cue Meldoy was kissing a white soccer ball on a silver necklace with a silver charm given to her by Taylor when she left for college. The inscription read, "No matter your goal, I love you."

Later that night back in their hotel room Taylor and Amy were discussing the night activities. Amy was telling Taylor how that song made her cry every time she heard it as it signified how their love had evolved since they had met back in college. She then told Taylor, "It's time for bed momma. Come make love to me."

"That's the second time today you've called me momma," Taylor said. "What's going on?"

Amy smiled pulling Taylor to her whispering while looking in her eyes, "I'm pregnant."
