Tear of a Vampire By Raye and Ashlyn Chapter Two

The lights from the street were shining brightly into his hotel room. He stood by the window looking down at the streets. "Typical Velken." He said with a smirk as he shook his head. "Two hundred years and he still refuses to act the way he should." The vampire said running a sharp nail down the frost covered glass. "When will you ever learn?"

"You don't so happen to be talking about me now are you? Velken asked as he stepped into the room and leaned up against the door frame with his arms crossed over his chest.

"So what if I am?" Dante asked as he ran his fingers through his dark crimson red hair. "Even if I was, what are you going to do about it?"

Velken rolled his eyes. "Not much I can do now can I?" he asked as he twirled a strand of hair between his fingers. "Besides, I'm not here to listen to your big mouth talk my ear off about what I could have been."

"But you would've made such a better vampire if you actually would have paid attention to a thing I said." Dante answered as he walked over to the blonde haired vampire and smiled. "You always were stubborn."

"Am I not still?" Velken asked as he rolled his eyes.

Dante's smile widened. "Yes, I think that is a trait you will always posses." Velken shrugged his shoulders and released the strand of hair.

"Perhaps, I don't know. People can change."

"People don't change, not for better anyways. And especially not our kind."

"But it is possible." Velken said as he studied Dante.

"Anything is possible, but hardly ever are those possibilities reached." Dante answered as he moved closer to the blonde. "You know how things are with us; at least I would pray you would. You've been a child of darkness long enough. And hardly ever is the dark gift as generous as it was to you."

"I wouldn't exactly call it that." Velken answered crossing his arms over his chest. "It's a fucking curse is what it is and there's not a single day that goes by that I don't hate you for taking away my life and condemning me to this hell."

Dante smiled and gently caressed the blonde's cheek. "Now come on Velken." He said calmly before tightening his grip on the blonde's throat and pressing him hard against the wall. "Besides you'd be dead by now if I wouldn't have taken you from your previous life."

Velken dug his nails deep into his sire's hand until he released him. "I would have been better off."

"You welcomed death back then don't you remember?" Dante said coldly. "I saved you from yourself, and this is the thanks I get."

Velken rolled his eyes and leaned against the wall. "You should've let me die, that's what I asked for."

Dante walked back over to the blonde and cupped his chin. "I made you what you are because I felt something in you that I felt was too precious to be thrown away.

The younger vampire rolled his eyes again and smacked Dante's hand away. "Well whatever it was, it's dead now."

"Of course it's not; it'll always be with you. No matter what you do."

"Whatever." Velken said raising an eyebrow.

"I've always wanted you Velken, you know that. And somehow you've always been able to fight me off. It makes me want you even more." Dante whispered as he pinned Velken to the wall.

"You can want me as much as you want, but you'll never have me. I ain't your fucking little fledgling anymore, you no longer control me. I'm free and I'd like to keep it that way."

Dante smiled and stepped back. "We'll see."

"Whatever, I'm leaving." Velken replied as he left, slamming the door behind him causing Dante to smile.

Reno stepped out of the shadowed corner and ran a hand through his short strawberry blonde hair. "So that's Velken." He drawled lazily.

"Unfortunately, yes. That's Velken." Dante answered as he walked back over to the window. "I swear ^Ö he hasn't changed since the day I turned him."

"Some don't." Reno shrugged leaning back against the wall. "What do you see in him that you want so much?"

"He's stubborn and I can't have him. That's why I want him; I've always wanted things I can't have."

"I see."

Dante sat down on the couch on couch never the window. "One of these days he's going to get himself killed." The red haired vampire said glaring at the window. "Maybe I DID make a mistake with him."

"Perhaps." He leaned against the window frame trying to hide his obvious jealousy.

"It's better to just give up on him, there's no point in it anymore." The older vampire answered up at the ceiling.

Velken walked into his bedroom slamming the door behind him. "Ugh^Å he fucking pisses me off! Everything he does pisses me off." He said angrily to himself as he collapsed on the bed, covering his eyes with his hands.

Annabell cracked open the door. "You went to see Dante I presume."

"Leave me the fuck alone." He shouted, sitting up and pressing his knees to his chest.

"Velken^Å" she walked over and sat on the edge of the bed.

"I'm sorry^Å you didn't do anything. I shouldn't take it out on you."

Annabell smiled softly. "It's alright. You had to vent at someone. Why not someone who's used to it."

He let out a soft sigh and leaned back against the wall. "I'm a real fuck up you know that? Two hundred years and I'm still a disaster."

"You really do need a plaything to take your mind off things."

"Oh will you shut up." Velken snapped. "I don't need anyone."

"Well now that's not true. You needed me. If you didn't, why bring me into your world? You could have left me alone."

"You're my sister, of course I need you." Velken answered burying his face in his knees.

"Ah but there are some things I can not give you. You need a companion."

Velken let out a soft sigh and looked up from his knees at his sisters. "Hmm^Åmaybe I do."

"Finally! He sees reason!"

"Shut up." Velken shouted throwing a pillow at her.

"Laughing, Annabell caught the pillow and sent it back at him. "I know his name too. You want Xavier, admit it."

"I DO NOT WANT HIM!" Velken said defensively as he jumped to his feet.

The female vampire raised an eyebrow. "Then why act like that?"

"How am I acting?"

"Every time I mention the subject you get all defensive."

"That doesn't mean a goddamn fucking thing. Just because I get defensive? That ain't even a real reason!" Velken snapped.

"Then how's this," she said leaning forward. "I know you well enough to know when you desire something or in this case, someone."

"I don't want him, he's just a kid." Velken said as he leaned against his bedroom window. "I'm perfectly fine on my own."

"That's denial talking."

"I'm not in the fucking denial. And don't give me that oh-you-want-him-cause-I-know-you crap, because I DON'T."

"Whatever. But I know you're lying even if you don't."

"Whatever." He answered lying back down on the bed and covered his head with the pillow. "I do not feel like talking about it right now. Or ever as a matter of fact."

"Alright." She rose to her feet and went to the door. "Oh, and you have two options, one, throw some poor human down into my basement or two, let me out of this house. I really don't want to take a site out of your ass by mistake. I have to hunt."

"Fine whatever." Velken answered without moving.

"So I can leave the house now?"

"Yeah, sure. Just stay the hell out of my way." He answered as he sat up.

"Thank you so much, brother dear."

"Don't call me that." Velken said wincing.

Annabell smiled. "Oh, why not?"

"Because I said so. I hate it." Velken answered as he reached for the black hair ribbon on the dresser and pulled his hair back into a ponytail.

"Someone is really bitchy today."

"I always am." Velken answered as he stood up, walked over to his closet and pulled out his cloak. "I don't have time for this."

"All a vampire has is time, brother dear." She said over her shoulder as she walked out.

Velken walked out of his room throwing on his cloak as he passed by her. "Not this one." He said as he headed down the stairs.

Xavier walked down the alley, twirling his knife between his fingers. Velken sat in an empty corner of the alley, his knees pressed firmly against his chest as he slowly rocked him self back and forth. Xavier saw something out of the corner of his eye. He turned and blinked in surprise. "Velken?" he whispered.

The vampire slowly looked up at Xavier. "Hmm?"

"You alright?"

"I-I don't know." Velken answered as he tucked a strand of hair behind his ear.

Xavier shrugged. "If you say so." He tilted his head to the side. "You look like shit."

"Thanks. I feel like shit." Velken answered as he leaned up against the wall.

"May I ask what's troubling you?"

"It's none of your fucking business." Velken said as he tried to fix his hair.

The raven haired teenager smiled. "To use your own words, everything's my business."

Velken smiled softly and wiped a tear from his eye. "It really isn't."

Xavier stepped forward. "Talk, you're upset and I want to know why."

"It's nothing, really I just ^Ö I had a fight with my sister and Dante. That's all, I'm fine."

"Dante?" Xavier tilted his head to the side questioning.

"My ^Ö sire." The vampire answered as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"Ah. You know, you don't seem the type to get upset like this." The teenager smiled. "I've never heard of a vampire breaking down before."

"Shut the fuck up. I wasn't breaking down." Velken snapped as he looked at the younger man. Xavier shook his head, trying to hide the smirk. "Could have fooled me, rocking back and forth, crying, sounds like a breakdown to me."

"I wasn't CRYING! Crocodile tears."

"Oh sure, whatever you say." Xavier said sarcastically.

Velken glared at the teenager. "I wasn't crying and I wasn't having a break down." The vampire said wiping his eyes with the back of his hand. "I had something in my eye."

"Don't you mean in both eyes? Man your excuses suck."

"Just leave me alone if you're going to give me a hard time."

"Alright, sorry. I just couldn't help myself."

Velken rolled his eyes and fidgeted with his hair. "Whatever."

The younger man raised an eyebrow. "What, no smartass remark?"

"Not at the moment, no." Velken answered as he tried to blow a strand of his blond hair away from his face.

Xavier smiled. "Hair problems?"

"It won't cooperate." The vampire answered getting frustrated with the strand. "Ah^Å fuck it." He said pulling out a knife and cutting the strand.

"You really do frustrated easily."

Velken smirked slightly as he put the knife back in his pocket. "Yeah but I've always been that way I guess. Since I was a teenager and all."

Xavier inclined his head. "I see. And you called me a pain."

The blonde's smirk widened. "What can I say? No one's a bigger pain then I am."

"I can see that."

"I should be getting home; I just needed some fresh air and sometime to clear my thoughts." Velken said as he walked over to Xavier.

The teenager shrugged. "Whatever. Check the allies if you ever want to talk. I'm always here."

"Whatever." Velken replied as he quickly kissed Xavier on the lips before disappearing.

"Xavier stood there for a moment and then shook his head. "So that's the way it's going to be." He pulled out his knife and looked at the polished surface. "So be it."
