Teens Intertwined
Nicole sat, her short choppy brown hair perfectly imperfect around her tan face. She smiled, her soft lips curling upward, having only one dimple on her cheek.
"Heather?" I shook my head. My eyes must have glazed over. "What are you looking at?" Nicole inquired, a look of concern and curiousness now replacing joy.
"Me? Nothing. I'm just, what? No." My tongue twisted up in my mouth and I blushed, flustered. Nicole, knowing how easily I get tangled up in my speech, laughed away my worries.
My name is Heather. I stand at 5'4, weight 145. Yes, I am a bit on the curvy side, but nowhere near obese. I have large breast, 34 DD's to be exactly, and nice round hips. My hair is chocolate brown, falling just passed my shoulders in loose waves. Tiger-chic, so I call it. Nicole is my best friend. She is thinner than I am, 5'5 and 140 or so. I've always admired how graceful she carried herself, her light amber eyes filling a room with light.
Lesbian? I wouldn't call me lesbian. I wouldn't know what to call me, to be honest. I've always been attracted to men. But then I met Nicole. Something about her essence bothered me, and at first it was annoying. I was so drawn to her, hang on her every word, and I had no idea why. Did I look up to her? Yes. Did I love her? Ah, love. I'm 16, she's 18. We were in high school. How am I to know what love is? And with a girl?
"I'm going to pop some popcorn." Nicole announced. It was Saturday night, and we were having a sleepover. I know, sleepovers should stop by the time you're 13, but we still had them. Girl stuff. We talk about boys and movies and share secrets and fears. All the stuff best friends do. Friends. The word stung me every time I thought about it.
I nodded, watching her leave. I realized, with much anger, that I was staring at her ass as she walked away. Did she notice? I decided that now would be a good time to get in my PJ's. I always borrowed her oversized shirts to sleep in, so I went over to the drawer. As I opened it, the wooden dresser shook and a piece of folded paper crumpled to the floor. I, not wanting to leave a mess, picked it up. Being a naturally curious person, I opened the paper. The writing was sloppy, obviously a boys. Dear Nicole, I know how to boogie, you know how to get down, and from what I hear, you're the best around. Go get your hair did, go on a shopping spree, 'cus how 'bout you go to the Winter Formal with me?" - Todd
My heart fell to my feet. My blood turned cold. My face fell. I could feel the salty tears build up behind my eyes, fingers trembling. I had no claim over her. Hell, she didn't even like girls. But she was mine, but no one, not even she, knew it. I couldn't hold her back, but how was I to let this Todd fucker take her?
In a blind panic, I grabbed my bag and burst through her bedroom doors, racing down the stairs just as Nicole was walking up with with two bowls of popcorn. My shoulder hit hers and the popcorn fell to the floor. "What the fu-" she started, frowning at the mess she was going to have to clean up. Then she saw my face as I look up at her, a few stairs down. My heart gave another beat and I turned, needing to run, to flee, to get the hell out of this house.
I heard the sound of the bowls falling against the stairs and the sound of footsteps racing behind me. The tears now burned my cheeks and I choked for, the entire world around me blurry.
She knew how to navigate the stairs much better than I, it being her house. I felt her hands grab my wrist and yank me back. "Heather! What's the matter?" She asked, her voice truly concerned and scared.
"Get the FUCK off me!" I screamed, grateful her parents weren't home. I tried to break my wrist free, my other hand shoving her away.
"You can't just storm out! Tell me!" She said, more worried than angry.
"LET GO!" I wailed, squirming for my life, a thick cloud of dread wrapping around me. She'd find out that I liked her; she'd never talk to me again.
She did let go, but only to grab both my shoulders and slam my back to the wall, holding me down. "What the fuck is going on?" She demanded, her arm muscles shaking with effort to keep me contained.
"Go to the fucking Winter Dance with Todd! Have fun sucking him or whatever the fuck you do. I don't care!" I said through angry tears, a hatred in my eyes. Not for Nicole, but for all those people wanting her. "I DON'T CARE!"
"Obviously," she whispered weakly, her hands falling off my shoulders, her head hanging downward "What would you rather me do, Heather?" She looked up at me. God damn it, she was crying. "Why can't I go?"
"You... you can..." I muttered, ashamed of my outburt. Hating myself for making her cry. "I'msorry."
"Is there someone you'd rather me go with?" She asked, her voice strengthening up some. My eyes locked with hers. Her eyes grew wide for a moment with realization. She knew. "Oh...."
"I'll go. Please, just let me go..." I felt a new batch of tears. Two years of friendship, gone. I tried to get passed her. Nicole didn't move, didn't speak, didn't breath. What had I done?
Then she kissed me.
Nicole's hands, soft as petals, cupped my cheeks and drew my lips to hers. Her lips tasted sweeter than I had ever dreamt about, and I've dreamt about kissing her for quite some time. My fingers, after dethawing from shock, found their way into her hair, running through the brunette strands, massaging her scalp in slow circles, my other hand resting on her hips.
Time and the world stood still, our kiss innocent and awakening. I felt a shell around me shatter and fade away, a new skin shining bright, my deepest dream unlocked and embraced. I could have stood like that forever, our lips perfect puzzle pieces.
She was the first to pull back, her fingertip stroking my cheek, her smile honest and soft, that one dimple making me smile. I looked down, hoping my stupid goofy smile and red cheeks would go away.
"I should help you clean up..." I muttered, looking at all the popcorn on the floor.
She took me into her arms, hugging me, just hugging me, our hearts beating in unison. I threw my arms around her, burying my face into the safety of the crook of her heck.
"We'll get the vacuum in the morning." She muttered into my hair, her nose nuzzling into the top of my head. "Right now, I think it's bedtime..." I looked up at her, thinking she just wanted to go to sleep. Nicole's bright eyes and playful smirk, however, told me otherwise.
My fingers laced with hers, my heart bursting with love and excitement, need and desire. She led me up the stairs and into her room.
My best friend was soon to become my lover. The door closed silently as we fell into her bed, and into oblivion.
Hope you enjoyed the first part of my two part series. If you liked it, send me an email letting me know! I promise, Part 2 will have detailed sex acts. I just wanted Part One to set up a base for the two girls.
