"Hey, don't look so down. That's a good thing." Jack looked up and was surprised to see Matt smiling. He was even more surprised to see Matt reaching for his hand. "I am too."

Jack was speechless. He'd only met one other gay guy in his life, and that did not turn out too well.

"Jack, what's the matter?"

"N-no-nothing." He managed to stutter.

"I know a lie when I hear one, Jack." Matt raised an eyebrow at him.

"It's just, I never expected... I mean, I hoped, but I never really thought that-"

"That I was gay? Yeah me either. It came as a surprise to me in the beginning, but I don't care what people think anymore. I am who I am."

"Wow. Matt. You're perfect."

"Far from it, but thank you." After this Jack got lost in Matt's blue eyes again. And Matt didn't seem to mind. They sat there, Matt's hand around Jacks, staring at each other until the bell rang and shocked them out of their trancelike state.

"Damn, that's the bell. Where are you off to next Jack?"

"Uhm... Health. But I'd much rather stay here with you."

"If it weren't your first day in a new school I would seriously take you up on that, but you have to go to class. Do you have texting? I could text you. The health teacher doesn't mind."

"I do, but not unlimited. But here." Jack pulled a pen out of his bookbag and grabbed a napkin off the table. He wrote down his number and handed it to Matt.

"Cool, thanks, I'll see you later Jack." By then the cafeteria had emptied and the two were left alone, on the opposite side of the room from the door, so they walked hand in hand to the door and parted ways in the hallway.

Before he walked into the classroom Jack pulled his phone out of his backpack and put it in his pocket, anticipating the texts. Jack entered the room and picked a random seat on the right side of the room, in the back row. He pulled out another spiral notebook and set it on the desk, and pulled the same pen he used to write down his number for Matt from his pocket and dated the paper. The class went on for a good half hour and not a single text message. Jack was starting to lose hope that Matt was going to text him. `Maybe he was bluffing.' He thought to himself. Just as he thought that though his phone vibrated in his pocket.

He pulled it out and looked at the screen.

`Hey' it said.

He started to text back but felt a tapping on his shoulder from behind. He turned to see who wanted what. It was Gretchen.

"Hey! I didn't know you were in this class!" He said

"Yeah, I walked right past you" She said with a chuckle. "Is that the new iPhone?!"

"Yeah, my mom got it for me because she felt bad that I had to switch schools."

"I didn't know they made it in white."

"Yeah. White's my favorite color."

"Cool." Jack turned back around and texted back.

`Heyy! I was starting to lose hope on you texting me. Lol.' He put the phone back in his pocket, expecting it to take Matt just as long to text back, but as soon as he pulled his hand away it vibrated again.

`I'm sorry! I had to get my homework done so I didn't get in trouble.'

`It's okay. What's up?'

`Nm, just sittin here. My teacher had to go to a meeting.'

`Oh funn. Haha'

`Tons... Hey, what're you doing after school?'

`Going home, why?'

`Well my mom's dropping off my car, and I didn't know if you wanted to go get a bite to eat.'

Let me ask my mom. I'd love to.' So Jack texted his mom. Hey mom, this really nice guy wants to take me out to eat after school, is that okay?'

`Yeah, honey, but bring him here first. I want to meet him.'

`Okay. I'll see you soon.'

`Matt, I can go, but she wants to meet you first.'

`Ok cutie. Find me after class. It's the last period of the day, so meet me out front.'

`Okayy.'

`My teachers back so I gotta go, I'll see you soon. :)'

`Bye.' Jack sat there not able to focus, more nervous about Matt meeting his mother. So when the bell rang he could barely focus as he walked through the halls and out the front door. He looked around for Matt, but he didn't see him anywhere. He was startled when a Black 2 door in front of him beeped. Jack looked through the window and saw Matt sitting in the driver's seat. He walked over and opened the door.

"This is your car?!"

"Yeah, it was my sweet sixteenth birthday present from my parents."

"Lucky." Jack climbed into the car and closed the door, putting his seatbelt on. Jack looked over to see Matt smiling at him.

"What?" Jack asked nervously.

"Nothing. You're cute."

"Thanks. You too."

Matt reached over and took Jacks hand.

"So where do you live?"

"1439 East Farm st." Matt drove on, still not letting go of Jacks hand. When they got to the house he parked behind Jack's mom's white BMW.

"And you thought this was a nice car?! This is just a Mitsubishi, that's a BMW!"

"Mom spoils herself." Jack said with a chuckle. He got out of the car and walked around to open the door for Matt.

"Thanks, Jack. But I'm sure I can open the door for myself."

"I know, I just wanted to do something nice for you."

"Aww, well thank you." Matt took Jacks hand in his and they walked to the door.

"Shit, I forgot my keys." Jack said and rang the doorbell. After a couple seconds his mom opened the door.

"Forget your keys again honey?" She asked with a smile, and then she noticed Matt. "Who's your..." She looked down at their hands her smile widening. "friend?"

"Oh, right, Mom, Matt. Matt, Mom."

"Nice to meet you Mrs., erm, I don't believe I caught your last name Jack, I'm sorry."

"It's okay. It's Cavanaugh."

"Well nice to meet you Mrs. Cavanaugh."

"Nice to meet you too Matt. Come inside." She said stepping back to allow the boys through. They followed Jack's mom to the kitchen where she sat down at the table.

"Nice house." Matt said looking around. "Very clean."

"Thank you." Jack and his Mother said at once and then looked at eachother and laughed.

"So, Matt, tell me about yourself. You want to take my son out to dinner?"

"Well I'm 17. I'm a sophomore. But I didn't stay back. I started late. I've had my license for a year and have never crashed, so you don't need to worry about your son being in danger driving with me. And yes, I want to take him to dinner. I think he's a really cute kid, and I'd really like to get to know him better." He said the latter as if Jack wasn't in the room. But he was so Jacks face got red hot with embarrassment.

"Well, Matt, you seem like a good kid. Have fun, and have him home by 9."

"Thank you Mrs. Cavanaugh."

"Please, call me Gina."

"Okay, thank you Gina."

"No problem Matt. Have fun you two. Now you better get going, I have to get back to work."

"Thanks Mom." Jack said kissing her on the cheek. "I'll see you later."

They walked outside and got in the car.

"She seems nice." Matt said before he started the car.

"Yeah, she's pretty amazing." Jack said with pride.

"I see where you get it from then."

"Oh, stop."

"I don't think I will." Matt said. "Would I be moving too fast if I kissed you right now?"

"Well, it would have been if you didn't ask, but since you asked, not at all."

Matt leaned in a softly kissed Jack on the lips. He felt Jacks tongue pressing on the outside of his lips so he opened up and let him in. Jacks tongue explored every inch of Matt's mouth. And then finally landed on Matt's tongue. He slowly circled his tongue around Matt's. They sat there and kissed, exploring eachothers mouths for about 10 minutes before Matt broke the kiss.

"You need to stop before I get too excited." He said with a wink. Matt put the keys in the ignition and started to back out of the driveway.

Thank you guys all so much for the feedback. I'll keep the story going as fast as I can. I look forward to hearing what you have to think, so don't be afraid to e-mail me with comments or ideas. =]
