CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE: ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

TREY'S POV

Well I was grounded on top of being suspended for the huge brawl that I was apart of. I didn't care though as I could now say that I could handle myself in a fight. I did feel bad though for dragging Calvin into it even though he told me that I wouldn't have been able to keep him out of it.

We were sitting in the kitchen watching our mother walk around doing this and that while stopping every now and then to look at us disapprovingly. It was getting to the point that I was struggling to keep from rolling my eyes at her. That would be a mistake though hence the struggle.

"Hello, hello," we heard from the living room. A few seconds later Ivy appeared in the kitchen.

"Hello Ivy," mom said a bit tersely.

"Hey cousin Liv, and hello to you too boys, I hear you two were suspended for fighting," Ivy said with a smirk.

"Yes they were and they're also grounded," mom said shooting us another disapproving frown.

"Ma don't you think you're overreacting? What were we supposed to do?" Calvin asked and I agreed but chose to remain silent.

"No I am not overreacting and you should have-," she was saying before Calvin interrupted.

"What, we should have snitched?" he asked and I knew I was right to keep silent.

"Boy, don't you interrupt me again," mom warned with that special "mother point" of the finger that warned you not to speak on the subject again.

"So you were suspended from school. I can officially say I'm shocked," Ivy said to me indeed looking shocked.

"Yeah I was," I said unenthusiastically.

"I am so disappointed with you Trey," mom said again and I almost let the eye roll slip through.

"I wasn't alone. Bear and Sean were suspended too along with Carter, Dale, Christian and Alex," I said trying to lessen the blow.

"I take it these are more new friends," Ivy inquired.

"Carter is a new friend. Dale is more Bear's friend but I guess I have to claim him too as he's dating Miriam. Christian is Liberty's new guy, and Alex is Sean's little brother," I explained to her.

"He's also my best bud," Calvin added.

"Ah ok. Well, you have all these new friends and now you're getting into fights and getting suspended. You've certainly changed since I was around last cuz," Ivy said and I took it as a compliment.

"Yeah a lot of things certainly have changed since he got involved with Bear," mom said in an accusatory tone that really pissed me off.

"What the hell are you trying to say?" I asked as I stood. I knew it was a mistake to challenge her like that but I was defending Bear so I didn't care.

"Well first of all I'm gonna tell you to sit your ass back down in that chair," she ordered but I refused to obey because I was tired of people walking all over me because I was the shy quiet obedient doormat.

"No I will not and my so-called "change" has nothing to do with Bear and everything to do with Zane," I said before immediately feeling guilty about blaming him even though I was right.

"Here we go again with the cryptic proclamation about Zane. What's the deal already?" Ivy asked and we were all quiet on the matter. We knew that Ivy and Zane were close friends and neither of us wanted to tarnish her image of him.

"Later," mom said trying to delay the inevitable.

"This wouldn't have anything to do with Zane beating you up when he found out you were gay would it?" Ivy asked but it seemed she already knew the answer. I guess her lawyer threat wasn't an empty one.

"Uh, how did you find out?" I asked.

"Zane told me. I'll admit that I was... a tad bit peeved, but he sat me down and told me everything and I understood a bit where he was coming from," Ivy said and I was stunned that Zane would do that.

"Did you say everything?" Calvin asked emphasizing the word "everything".

"Yes I did, although..." she said trailing off which instantly made me curious.

"Yeah..." I said pushing her along.

"Well, while he seemed fine when he was telling me the story, I could tell that he wasn't. I wasn't the only one who noticed either as Nicole gave me a look that said that she saw it too," Ivy said confirming my suspicions about Zane.

"I knew it," I said before I could stop myself.

"Well abuse isn't something that's easy to get over even years later," mom said plainly although I could see the pain and anger in her eyes.

"I don't think it's the abuse that's bothering him. I think it's what he did to Trey that's the problem," Ivy said and that fact didn't make me feel any better about things.

The three of them continued to talk but I was pre-occupied with my thoughts as usual. Sometimes being an intellectual was a gigantic curse. Anyway I sat there thinking about what I could do for Zane, especially if Ivy was right. I knew that in some ways he deserved his guilt but I just couldn't find it in myself to let my brother suffer if I could stop it.

Later that day I was still thinking. I was being watched so I wouldn't sneak and call Bear or any of my fellow suspended friends so I was stuck with my thoughts which were never a good thing. I still hadn't figured out what to do about Zane when I got a call that would lead to making me feel worse.

"Hello," I said as I answered my cell with mom glaring at me as she headed my way.

"Hello Trey, are you busy?" the caller who turned out to be Nicole asked.

"Well no I'm not busy aside from being bored to death," I said and mom cleared her throat as she stood before me.

"Well can you come over to Zane's place then?" she asked and I looked at mom.

"I would love to but I can't as I'm under super max imprisonment," I said smartly while frowning at my mother.

"Very funny Trey and who is that?" she asked while still frowning.

"Oh right, I had forgotten about you being grounded," Nicole said.

"Yeah so if you want me to come over you have to ask my warden," I said and that was the final straw I guess as mom snatched the phone from me.

"Hello, who is this?" she asked harshly with a pissed off look, but that changed to one that was friendlier after a second. "Oh Nicole, I didn't know it was you calling... well I guess he can come as long as you make sure he comes right back home... okay then and I'll see you later," she said and handed me the phone after her conversation was over.

"So can I go?" I asked hoping for a yes even though she'd already said yes to Nicole.

"Go on over, but you'd better be back within 2 hours or you're grounded another week," she warned and I jumped up to get out of the house before she changed her mind.

"Hey that's not fair. I wanna go," Calvin protested. I was about to book it, but decided to try and free him for a while since it was mostly my fault he was on lock-down too.

"Mom, can he go too?" I asked giving her my saddest look possible with Calvin joining in.

"Fine go, get out of my face, but you better remember what I said Trey because I mean it," she warned again and I told her that I would obey before we rushed out of the house to enjoy our brief time of freedom.

"So what do you think Nicole wants with us?" Calvin asked as we headed for Zane's place after making a quick fast food run. I didn't think his relationship with Nicole was to the point where he was leaving her alone in his place, but that was none of my business I guess.

"Well I have no idea what she wants with `me'," I corrected him as she had called for me. He was just along for the ride because I felt guilty about getting him suspended from school.

"Whatever man," he said in response.

We finally arrived at Zane's apartment and parked my truck next to Nicole's car in one of their apartment's assigned parking spaces. We got out and headed for Zane's apartment on the second floor of his complex which was a newer complex with nice sized apartments.

I rang the doorbell when we got to the door and waited for Nicole. I had to admit I was really curious about what she called me over for. There were many ways that she could have had a private conversation with me if she wanted to, but it seemed that whatever she wanted was there at Zane's place so I was extra curious by the time she opened the door.

"Trey... and Calvin. Well come on in," she said after adjusting to her brief surprise that I'd brought Calvin along.

"Okay, what's the big secret?" Calvin asked with no tact which earned him a slap to the back of the head from me.

"Have some class at least," I said which made Nicole giggle a bit.

"Sorry, `Mom"," he said sarcastically.

"Don't call me that woman," I said still a bit raw with her behavior and her trying to say that Bear was to blame for my new outlook on life.

"Why is that? Are you still mad with her?" he asked with a teasing smile.

"Shut up kid," I said but his reply was cut off by the doorbell ringing.

"Who's that? I was only expecting you two... well you Trey," Nicole said but I already knew who it was. Nicole went to the door and opened it to reveal my Bear standing there looking as good as always.

"What the hell? Does he like have Trey detecting powers or something?" Calvin asked.

"Yeah, something like that," I replied with a grin.

"Bear, what are you doing here?" Nicole asked as she looked at him.

"Oh my god, you called him, didn't you?" Calvin asked.

"No," I said.

"Trey sent me a text telling me to get over here immediately but wouldn't say why. Is something wrong?" he said sounding anxious. I didn't think of how my text would sound before I sent it.

"So you didn't call him, you sent him a text," Calvin said.

"Yup," I said simply.

"Come in," Nicole said sounding exasperated.

"Baby, what are you doing here?" Bear asked as he came into the living room with Nicole. He then walked quickly over to me and pulled me into a hug then a kiss.

"I'll tell you Trey that I don't appreciate you using me to see your boyfriend behind your parents' backs," Nicole admonished.

"Yeah, yeah. Now are you gonna tell us why you called me over here?" I asked and she rolled her eyes.

"Fine, come with me," she said before heading toward Zane's bedroom. I followed her followed by Bear and Calvin.

"It was about a week ago when I came over and surprised your brother. He was in here looking at his laptop but when I came in he got all jumpy and closed down the laptop and shooed me out of the room," she explained as we stood in Zane's bedroom and I was finding it hard not to roll my eyes at her.

"Nicole, I know you didn't call me all the way over here to tell me you found porn on Zane's laptop," I said and Bear snickered while Calvin started slyly inching toward the laptop.

"No I didn't. He wasn't looking at porn because I could tell he had been crying from whatever he was looking at because his eyes were red and swollen and his face looked like there'd been tears there but hastily wiped away," she explained and that grabbed my attention.

"Did you find what he was looking at?" Bear asked as he moved closer to me and put his big hand on my shoulder.

"Well not then. He played it off, but a few nights later I was in the bed and I woke up to hear sniffling. I looked and Zane was again at his laptop. I craned my neck as far as I could without alerting him to my being awake but I could only see a corner of the screen. The part I saw though looked familiar so I waited until I was sure he was gonna be out for a while and came over here to look," she said and I was extremely curious now what the deal was.

"What was it?" I asked unable to hide my curiosity.

"This," she said as she lifted the screen and turned on his laptop. One thing I was shocked at was that someone who was about to graduate police academy would let his laptop be so unsecured.

She did some things and an image came up that I didn't care to ever see again even though I had it along with others saved on my own laptop as I had taken them off my phone. It was one of the pictures Jessica had taken of me the day Zane had beaten me up. I stood there looking at how truly horrible I looked that day.

I felt Bear's hand on my shoulder tighten into a grip so tight that I thought he was gonna crush my clavicle. It then occurred to me then that this was his first time seeing what I looked like directly after the assault as I had refused to show him the pictures before then and I made Jessica promise not to show him either.

"How did he get that?" I asked out loud.

"Are you sure this is what he was looking at?" Calvin asked.

"I don't know how he got them as there are more, and I'm sure because I looked at the file logs and these are what he was looking at on the dates and times that I remember," Nicole explained which oddly didn't explain anything, plus Bear's grip on my shoulder was causing blinding pain by that point.

"Bear, you're crushing my clavicle," I said and he quickly let go.

"I'm sorry baby," he said before stepping closer to the laptop. He then looked through all the pictures with his muscles tensing and flexing as he looked them over. I could practically feel the anger dripping off of him.

"Nicole, where are you?" we heard Zane call out.

"Damn, it's Zane," Nicole hissed.

"My landlady called to tell me that my girlfriend was at my place and that she spied her letting three separate men into my apartment and that they hadn't left yet," Zane said as he headed back towards his bedroom.

"Um Zane, I can explain," Nicole said trying to do just that as Zane reached his room.

"What are you all doing in my apart-," Zane started before he zeroed in on his open laptop with the image on there.

"Zane, just let me explain," Nicole tried again.

"What the hell are you all doing?" Zane asked harshly as he stormed over and slammed his laptop closed.

"Zane, what are you doing with those pictures?" I asked in return.

"I need them," he said sounding sad and desperate at the same time.

"What do you need them for? You need to study your handiwork for next time?" Bear asked angrily.

"No," Zane replied and he sounded so small that it broke my heart for him.

"Then why do you have them?" Bear asked with that dangerous edge to his voice that worried me.

"Bear, just chill out," I said strongly.

"But," he tried but I spoke again.

"I don't wanna hear it," I said in an ordering tone that I'd only used on Alicia up to that point. It seemed to work on him too though.

"Zane, why do you have those pictures?" Nicole tried and I hoped that he would answer her at least.

"I need them to remember, to never forget the cost of hatred. I did that to my brother and I'm never gonna let myself forget what kind of monster I am," he said and again my heart hurt for him.

"Honey you are not a monster," Nicole said as she stepped close to him and laid her hands on his cheeks.

"Yes I am. Anybody who would do that to their own brother is a monster," he said in a broken voice as it was obvious he was fighting to not cry in front of us. He then took the laptop and left the room.

"I guess Ivy was right," Calvin said off-handedly and I nodded slightly in agreement.

I then told them to stay there and I went in search of Zane. I found him sitting on his living room sofa staring at the blank TV with an equally blank look on his face with wet eyes. I sat down on the sofa next to him and took a minute to collect my thought before I started to speak.

"How did you get those pictures?" I asked as calmly as I could.

"I asked Jessica to give them to me. She refused at first, but I managed to convince her to give them to me," he answered after about a minute of silence. There was another brief silence before I spoke again.

"Zane, you have to get rid of those pictures. You are just torturing yourself with them and that's not right," I said still speaking calmly.

"I deserve torture," he said and I couldn't take this anymore. He sounded so broken and I didn't know how to handle seeing him like that.

"Zane, I want you to listen to me. Now, some will say that you are right and I think Bear is probably one of them, but nothing good will come of you sitting here in your apartment dwelling over this. It's a horrible thing that happened, but I'm over it for the most part so you need to do the same," I said and he looked deep in thought.

"I can't get rid of the pictures, not yet anyway. I will promise that I won't look at them like I was doing, but I need them to help me see what's important," he said and while it wasn't really any sort of compromise I decided to go with it.

"How will I know if you're looking at them or not?" I asked.

"Well you could just get Alvis and Leo to spy on me," he said with a small smile.

"Isn't it kind of illegal to spy on an almost-cop?" I asked.

"It's illegal to spy on anybody, but it'll be our little secret," he said smiling the smile that I was used to from him.

We talked for a bit more and he told me about how he had convinced Jessica to give him the pictures and not tell me he had them. I decided that I would punish her for that later. Before long he said he needed to get back so he said goodbye to us and headed out. Nicole then said she needed to get over to her mother's house so we all left at that time.

I was disappointed that I didn't get to spend much time with Bear, but he said he had to get back home too as his mother had let him leave because he had told her it was an emergency that required him to rush over to Zane's place. We did get in a good make-out session before he left though. I then had to listen to Calvin give me hell about it because he was spying on us.

When we got back home I gave our mother a detailed rundown of what had happened at Zane's minus the Bear being there part. There was no need for her to know that part so I omitted it. She said she'd talk to dad when he got home and they would have a talk with Zane themselves and I understood that. I just hoped that he would stop torturing himself with those pictures.

"What are you wearing?" I asked Bear as I talked to him on my cell.

"You know damn well what I'm wearing so stop talking like that," Bear said sounding a bit distressed.

I did know what he was wearing because he was at some forced black tie party at his dad's company which required both him and Steph to attend. He wanted to drag me along but I said a resounding hell no. I wasn't about to be bored to death, but I probably should have gone along anyway to keep him from suffering that fate, but then again, that's what the phone call was meant to prevent.

"Oh well then. You wanna know what I'm wearing?" I asked with a husky tone.

"No I don't," Bear said adamantly but I could tell he wanted to know.

"Well I'll tell you anyway. I'm wearing a pair of those tight boxer briefs you gave me for my birthday," I said again in a husky tone.

"The black ones?" he asked and I could hear a quiver in his voice.

"Yup those are the ones. I'm wearing them and nothing else. I'm laying across my bed and I'm running my hands all over my chest and stomach," I said and I could hear him audibly swallow over the phone.

"Trey, don't do this to me," he said in a slightly shaky voice.

"My hand is now traveling lower, lower, ooh yeah, now I'm holding my big dick in my hand. I so wish it was your big strong hand wrapped around my meat big guy," I said and I'm sure I could feel him shudder over the phone.

"You're killing me Trey, really killing me here," he said between heavy breaths.

"Bear are you okay? You're breathing awfully heavily and you're sweating something fierce," I heard through the line and I knew it was Steph. Hearing this information made me smile as I had confirmation that I was indeed succeeding in making him horny.

"Get lost, I'm busy," he snapped at her. There was a brief silence before I heard anything again.

"Oh I get it now. Hello Trey," she said before I could hear her laughing over the line. I guess she was leaving him alone because her laughter was retreating.

"Stupid brat, and I'm gonna get you Trey. You won't know when but I'm gonna get you and when I do you won't be right again for a long time," he warned.

"Ooh, is that a promise, Big Bear?" I asked sexily.

"Yeah it is, now goodbye," he said.

"Gonna go find somewhere to jerk off?" I asked amused I had achieved my goal.

"Jackass," he said before he ended the call.

I laid back and tried to cool myself off as I had gotten myself worked up as well. I got a text about a second later from Bear with just one word... yes. I sent him back a text telling him to imagine his fist is my mouth. He sent me another text a few minutes later but it was a pic that made my jaw drop. It was him standing in a stall with his pants down and his hard dick gripped in his fist. I almost came from just that image alone.

I sent him a similar one back and tried my best to not touch myself anymore than necessary as I knew from all this tension that I would blow quickly and I wanted to save myself because I would be seeing Bear the next day. He sent me a text several minutes later saying that I sucked which made me laugh, because of course I sucked. He then sent me another text saying he had gotten his unintentional joke and said thanks for the pic. I told him he was more than welcome.

He called me later and we talked sexy to each other a few minutes before we got off the phone as we would be seeing each other soon. Before he got off he told me he loved me like he always did and I returned the sentiment because I couldn't imagine not ever loving him.

I was in a good mood and I couldn't wait to show Bear just how good my mood was. My imprisonment was finally over and I was free to see everyone again. I would catch up with other friends after I took care of some unfinished business with Bear. I just had to see him so the first chance I got I ducked out of the house and sped over to Bear's place as his parents were supposed have left for a weekend trip early that morning.

I arrived at his house and then I got out of my truck and headed for the front door. I remembered our conversation from the night before and my dick twitched. By the time I made it to the door I was rock hard and ready for some fun. When Bear opened the door though he wasn't happy.

"Hey big guy," I said trying to bring a smile to his face.

"Hey Trey. I've been calling your cell all morning but you didn't answer. When I called your house you we already gone," Bear said and I noticed that he was a little rigid in his actions.

"Yeah I dropped my cell in the toilet so I had to give it a rice dunk," I said still not getting why he was being so standoffish.

"Oh, well I was calling to tell you that jerk wad is home," he said and it all made sense. Brian was home which was why he wasn't letting me in.

"What's he doing here?" I asked getting pissed that Brian was ruining yet another morning with Bear.

"He has a friend that's coming by to see him here," he responded sounding annoyed.

"That's just great," I said also annoyed.

"Tell me about it. I am going to let you in by the way, although you'll probably wanna do something about that thing," he said gesturing towards my obvious boner that I surprisingly still had.

"Well how am I supposed to do that with you standing there looking all handsome and brooding?" I asked seriously, but he chuckled slightly but stopped when he saw that I was serious. He looked deep in thought before he spoke.

"Imagine Drake and Alicia having sex on your parents bed," he said with a smirk.

"Oh god! Are you trying to make it go down or kill it completely?" I asked although the image did make me lose my erection quickly enough.

"Well it worked well enough," he said.

"You're an ass," I said in a disgruntled tone.

"Yeah, but I prefer yours better, and consider that payback for last night," he said with a gloating grin.

"Yeah well, I think you'll suffer more than me if he doesn't rise again," I said and that effectively wiped that grin off his face.

"Don't you worry about a thing baby. I doubt there's a dick out there that can stay soft for long around me with no clothes on," he said arrogantly, but he was living up to his word as I was starting to plump up again so I chose to step a safe distance away from him. He laughed out loud before grabbing my hand and pulling me through open door.

"What the hell took you so long at the door, and who was it... oh just great. It's your 'girlfriend'," Brian said sounding just as jackassy as he had last time.

"You know what Brian-" Bear started but I interrupted him.

"No big guy, I got this," I said before I walked over toward Brian with him lifting his eyebrow in curiosity.

"What do you got `little girl'?" Brian asked condescendingly.

"I'm not a girl, and I'm not Bear's girlfriend. I'm Bear's fiancé who's also a man as this right here entails," I said as I gripped my crotch. "In fact, I bet I'm packing more than you," I added for insult.

"I doubt that little guy," Brian said looking smug.

"Oh he's not lying. I can show you if you want," Bear said as he reached for his cell and I felt my eyes grow wide.

"Bear, are you crazy!" I said in a panic.

"I'm just trying to help," he defended.

"Not like that you aren't," I argued.

"Well, as much fun as this hasn't been, would you two leave and go do... whatever it is you two do together," Brian said trying to dismiss us while being insulting at the same time.

"Well one of us lives here and since it isn't you, I think I'll stay right here," Bear said before dropping down in one of the overstuffed chairs. I had to admit that he looked rather intimidating when he was posturing. I was starting to see the mannerisms that I saw in Marcus and that was definitely an added turn-on.

"He doesn't live here," Brian said with an annoyed glance towards me.

"He's my invited guest," Bear replied.

"Well I don't need any invitation as my parents live here," Brian countered.

"Yeah you say that but I don't see any actual proof," Bear responded. It was around this time when the doorbell rang. Bear stood up and started for the door but Brian cut him a glare and he just stood back and smirked at him.

Brian went to get the door and Bear took advantage of his absence and pulled me into a quick but meaningful kiss. We heard loud talking from the entryway that got closer as Brian and his friend came back toward us.

"Who is this friend he's making such a fuss over?" I asked quickly.

"I don't know. He wouldn't tell me," Bear answered.

"The old place looks the same," Brian's friend said as the two of them entered the living room. The guy was tall with dark hair that was cut into a military style which matched his uniform which looked to be that of the Marine Corp. He looked pretty solidly built too which I took the time to notice.

"Yeah but don't let my mom hear you say that. She'd think her house was dated," Brian said and they both laughed.

"So where are the little kiddies? It's been a long while since I've seen Bear and Stephanie. He's still going by Bear isn't he?" the guy said as the slowly made their way into the living room.

"Unfortunately," Brian said with a roll of the eyes.

"Well where are they?" the guy asked.

"Steph was gone when I got here and... there's Bear," Brian the douchebag said gesturing towards Bear like it was such a huge imposition.

"Bear, it's nice to... good lord almighty, what have your folks been feeding you?" Brian's friend said. I always found these reactions to Bear hilarious and I was struggling then to keep from laughing out loud at this guy.

"Nice to see you again too Jerry," Bear said with a chuckle as he offered his hand to shake. Jerry, which was apparently this guy's name, looked at Bear's hand a few seconds before grabbing it to shake.

"You aren't part of some government super-soldier program are you?" Jerry asked still taken aback by Bear's appearance.

"I don't know, you tell me. You're the Marine aren't you?" Bear said with a suspicious grin. Instead of responding Jerry cut his eye toward Brian who rolled his eyes.

"That's all him, as far as I know," Brian said like it killed him to say something positive about his own brother.

"Well jeez dude, the ladies must be crawling all over you, though it looks like a might big climb," Jerry said in awe of Bear even though he wasn't a shrimp in his own right.

"They were, until he decided he liked cock more than pussy," Brian said sounding disgruntled.

"What did you say?" Jerry asked.

"What my brother is so vulgarly trying to say is that I'm gay Jerry," Bear said without an ounce of shame. It always astounded me how he was so uncaring about what people thought of him being gay.

"Oh come on, you two are joking with me," Jerry said looking back and forth between the brothers.

"Unfortunately we're not," Brian said in exasperation. Jerry looked at Brian then at Bear. He looked at Bear seriously when Bear pulled me to stand in front of him and wrapped his arm around me from behind. Realization dawned on him then.

"Oh, okay then. Wait a second, I remember you. You're that kid that was always following Bear around. You're also the one who if I remember was the one that started the whole `Bear' thing," he said and I was impressed especially since I didn't remember this dude.

"It's Trey, and I never `followed' Bear around," I corrected.

"You did so. You were so hopelessly in love with me even back then that you just couldn't help it," Bear said sounding so smug.

"I think you better stop talking if you know what's good for you," I said as I pulled myself from his grip.

"Oh-ho-ho, it looks like he's running things in your relationship," Jerry said sounding amused.

"He likes to think so and I let him think so," Bear said still sounding smug.

"You know what, you're right Bear. The only course of action is for me to let you run things," I said as ominously as I could as I took over the chair Bear had vacated when Jerry had rang the doorbell.

"What do you mean by that?" he asked suspicious of my meaning.

"What do you think I mean?" I asked in return with a sinister smile.

"Well I think you're in deep shit dude," Jerry said laughing. He then pulled off his coat and he was definitely adept of hiding a lot with a coat because the guy was huge. He had a big chest and large biceps... he was a huge guy, but Bear still had him beat.

I took particular notice of the tattoo on his arm which was a buff daffy duck holding a chainsaw. It was familiar to me because I remembered the person who had it. I then remembered Jerry as having brought Bear to see me when I was in the hospital after I had broken my leg when I was 10.

He was 15 at the time and he was the only 15 year old that I knew that had a tattoo and it was such a cool one too. He had given me a bag of lollipops and said "go crazy kid but if your folks ask, we've never met". I remembered laughing at him but I also remember that I had really liked his smile and if I'm being honest, I had developed a slight crush on him that day.

I also remembered that Bear had been happy that day, until the exchange between Jerry and me. He wasn't happy afterwards and refused to eat any of the lollipops I had been given. When I thought about it Bear had always been that way when it came to me and any other boy I wasn't related to.

He was very territorial and even despite his claims that he wanted me and Sean to become friends, when we did do so, he started acting all jealous. It's also probably why he tolerated Drake for so long, because deep down he knew Drake and I would never be close friends and there was no threat from him.

This realization made me question just how long Bear had had feeling for me since this realization made that seem longer than I had originally thought. Knowing this made me feel really good for some reason and it also pulled my focus back to who it should have been on.

"Are you done undressing Jerry with your eyes?" Bear asked a bit harshly.

"I have no idea what you're talking about," I said innocently.

"Yeah right," Bear grumbled.

Jerry stayed around for a while and he and Brian talked about old times and about Jerry's days in the marines and Brian's escapades in school. Jerry tried to include us in the conversation but it became obvious that Brian wasn't having it so he stopped after a while. He made an excuse and left shortly after that.

"Well thanks a lot. You just had to be here and mess up my time with my friend," Brian said angrily after he came back into the living room.

"What the hell are you talking about Brian?" Bear asked with an edge to his voice.

"Jerry couldn't wait to get out of here and away from around the two of you," Brian stupidly said.

"Dude you are delusional. Jerry didn't have any problem with me and Trey. If anything, he got tired of you shutting down any attempts he made to include us in your conversation and left. You ran your own friend away because you don't know how to treat your own brother," Bear said harshly.

"I think that compared to some other brothers, I win the prize for tolerance," Brian said smugly while glancing at me.

"What did you say?" I asked because I just knew he was somehow talking about me.

"Oh well, I overheard mom talking to dad about you, about what Zane did to you, and compared to that, I'm a saint," Brian said with a smug grin.

"Well smartass, there's a difference here. You see with us, I'm the bigger brother and I'd be more than happy to demonstrate just how outclassed you are compared to me," Bear said in a threatening tone that said everything.

"I'm done with you two," Brian said after a minute of squaring off with Bear with Bear being the obvious winner. He left us and went upstairs to his room. I was so pissed at him that I couldn't stay in that house with him anymore so Bear went up to get changed and we left.

We went over to Sean's place which turned into a big thing with our usual group plus a few guys from the team who came over to share just how badly we had lost the game with most of our best players suspended. There were no hard feelings though except for Drake and Todd and that was fine with me.

Monday morning came around and I was back in school. I was crushed because my record now had a blemish of a suspension that I had to pretty up with something quickly. I just didn't know how quickly it would come though, or what it would lead to, but I digress.

"Trey, welcome back. I take it you spent time over your suspension reflecting on where you went wrong," Mr. Renner said as I walked by the office and he was fast becoming my least favorite person. Even his looks weren't doing it for him anymore.

"Hello Mr. Renner. Yes I did take some time to reflect, when I wasn't being watched like a hawk that is," I answered sarcastically.

"Oh well I'm sorry if you were punished so severely. I did speak to your parents and tried to impart all the information I had gathered to them to let them know that you weren't an instigator in the fight," he said and that sounded nice actually. Too bad my parents didn't listen.

"Yeah I guess they weren't in a lenient mood though," I said still pissed at my mother as I was sure she was the main one who wanted to punish me and Calvin. Dad was probably happy that I was finally behaving like a real boy. With the "head in the books" and the "gay sex with my boyfriend", there wasn't much evidence that I was a normal teenaged boy until now.

"Well how about we discuss what I wanted to talk to you about when you returned to school," Mr. Renner said cutting through the awkwardly growing moment.

"Sure," I said as he guided me into his office by a hand on my back. He gestured for me to have a seat in the chair at his desk and he walked around to the other side and had a seat as well. He then took out a folder and handed it to me.

"What's this?" I asked as I looked in the folder. It was a simple sheet with the name of Bear's football teammate Clyde Harrow on it with his classes on it and his grades.

"That's one of the students that needs tutoring. As you can see he has several areas of trouble and these areas happen to be the same ones that you greatly excel in," Mr. Renner said while looking at me seriously.

"I don't suppose I can refuse to do this," I inquired as the last thing I wanted to do was spend my time tutoring some dumb jock.

"Well I guess you can refuse to do this, though I would have thought that you would jump at the chance to get something on your record to cover that suspension," he said and I couldn't help but think that I'd been set up.

"I can't help but think that this whole thing is a little too convenient, Mr. Renner," I said before I could stop myself.

"I can't say that it wasn't planned, but I think this will be a good thing," Mr. Renner said, but the look that he tried to hide let me know that he knew he was fast becoming someone that I disliked very much.

"Well I guess I don't have much of a choice so I'll do it," I said with barely concealed annoyance. He studed me for a few seconds before he responded

"No Trey, I don't want you to fell like that," he said looking regretful for his actions. "Let's say we just forget about this and you can just go on ahead about your day," he said taking the folder up from in front of me. He looked so troubled that something in me made me take the folder back.

"No Mr. Renner, I'll do it," I said while holding the folder and trying to convey a look to him that I wanted to do it even though I really didn't.

"Are you sure?" he asked while holding the folder in a vice grip.

"Yes I'm positive," I said trying to pull the folder from his grip. He finally let go and I put it into my backpack.

"Okay and thanks Trey," Mr. Renner said before he stood and reached out his hand for me to shake. I shook it and I noticed that he had a strong grip and surprisingly masculine hands. He smirked at me after the handshake went on longer than necessary

"Well, I'll see you later," I said after I pulled my hand back.

"Yes Trey, and you might wanna get a handle over that `appraising' eye of yours with a guy like Bear around. He strikes me as very jealous and I wouldn't wanna get him angry," Mr. Renner said with that amused smile he always gave me whenever he caught me looking at him in a way that I shouldn't.

"I wouldn't worry about me Mr. Renner. Bear wouldn't hurt me," I said in reassurance.

"I know. I was worried about me," he said and we both chuckled before I left his office.

"So you're tutoring some dumb jock," Justice said as she leaned against my locker.

"Justice, that is not a nice thing to say," I reprimanded her even though I'd thought the same thing.

"Yeah, if for no other reason than all three of us happen to be dating quote, unquote, `dumb jocks'," Miriam added and Justice looked briefly regretful for he slip of the tongue.

"Well our jocks aren't dumb, of course," Justice said trying to backpedal.

"Well, yours kind of is since he got the lowest SAT score among the three of them," Miriam joked.

"That thing is a sham. My man takes AP courses. Does your man even know how to spell AP?" Justice said while pointing a sharp finger at Miriam.

"He can spell AP just fine, and is that the excuse you're using for Jessica scoring within 60 points of you?" Miriam asked.

"Do you have any other reason?" Justice asked incredulously.

"Yes I do actually. You aren't smarter than Jessica, or at least not smarter than you thought you were," Miriam replied and Justice took a step toward her. I had to cool the situation down.

"Why are you two using Jessica as a jumping off point? She's plenty smart," I said in defense of her.

"Of course you think that," Justice said.

"Yes I do think that because she's a close friend. I thought she was your friend as well," I said still trying to defend Jessica. She was my road dog and I was gonna defend her.

"She is my friend," Justice responded with folded arms which was the international sign of becoming defensive.

"Oh I see. This is what guys mean when they talk about women and how they are with each other," I said probably making a mistake in dong so.

"What are you trying to say?" Justice and Miriam said together sounding very creepy.

"I'm done with you," I told them putting an end to that conversation.

"I don't see the problem with him tutoring the guy," Miriam said.

"Are you kidding? He's a jock. Jock plus gay geek equals-," Justice started before she was interrupted.

"Engagement," Miriam finished while pointing to the Cartier Love bracelet on my wrist. It was a consensus among our group that my bracelet was my "engagement ring" since I didn't have a real ring as I had been the one who proposed.

"Well that's a rare occurrence," Justice said.

"Not really, it's actually a bit cliche," Miriam countered.

"Are you calling Bear and me cliche?" I asked taking offense at her words.

"No honey, of course not," Miriam stammered.

"Uh huh," Justice said while rolling her eyes.

"Look, I'm gonna do it and it'll be fine," I said as I closed my locker and prepared to go to my next class which I had with Liberty, Bear, Carter, and Veronica.

"Well if you say so," Justice said before she and Miriam took off for their next class as well. I was about to leave as well when I turned and ran into the topic of our discussion.

"Hello Trey," Clyde said as he stopped in front of me. He didn't sound hostile, but he didn't exactly sound friendly either.

"Hello Clyde," I said in return using a friendlier tone.

"I hear from Mr. Renner that you will be tutoring me," he said again in the same tone. It made me question my decision to let myself be persuaded by Mr. Renner.

"Yeah I plan on it. I hope there's not a problem here?" I said trying to break the tension between us.

"No, there's no problem. Here, take this," he said before handing me a piece a paper with dates and times written on it.

"What's this?" I asked as I looked it over.

"It's the times that I'm free for tutoring. You can use that to make a schedule and let me know so I can write it down too," he said with the same tone. I was weirdly impressed with how organized he seemed. I wasn't too fond of his cold tone though.

"Okay, will do," I said. He gave a nod of the head before leaving. This was going to be just swell.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," I heard from behind me. I knew who it was before even turning around though.

"You wouldn't do what, Alicia?" I asked as I rolled my eyes at having to speak to her needlessly.

"That tutoring thing. I've heard some things and maybe you shouldn't do it," she said.

"What things have you heard?" I asked wondering what she was on about.

"Clyde's not exactly a... fan of yours," she said trying to sound cryptic, but she wasn't really worrying me in the least.

"Well neither are you, but we're able to be in the same room without anything dangerous happening," I said.

"Well that's true, but you still shouldn't do it," she said and I was surprised that she actually sounded sincere.

"Aw, are you worried about me? How not-evil of you," I said.

"I know right. I'll probably make it up somewhere down the line and the universe will right itself so it's fine," she said with a smirk before leaving.

The week flew by with me settling on tutoring Clyde on Tuesdays and Thursdays with an extra session after football season was over which was a week away. It had been weird being near him as I noticed close up that he wasn't a bad looking guy, but he was the same distant guy he was when we first talked.

He spoke when spoken to and answered questions when asked but other than that he didn't speak. That was fine with me because I just considered him an unpaid job and just did what I needed to do to get through our sessions before leaving. As far as I was concerned, spending an extended amount of time with someone who didn't like you wasn't a great thing to do.

I was walking down the hall on the following Monday after I returned to school following my suspension when I saw Todd heading my way. I saw a smirk appear on his face and I happened to look around and saw that we were alone in the hallway so I started to turn around as I didn't want to get involved with anything with him at that moment.

"Where are you running off to fag?" he asked mockingly which of course made me stop in my tracks. I had grown to hate that word with a passion and the way he said it particularly rubbed me the wrong way.

"What did you call me?" I asked as he neared me.

"You heard me,,, FAG," he said drawing out the word.

"What is your problem Todd? Why are you always in my face? With Drake it's one thing, but you seem to have a particular hate for just me," I said finally voicing my problem with him.

"You are my problem Healey. Just looking at your disgusting face makes me ill. Just knowing that you live across the street from me makes me ill. Just having to walk down the hall of my school knowing that you have walked down these same halls and I have to share personal space with you makes me ill," he said in a positively dumb rant.

"Okay first of all, that's way too many uses of the word "just" to not have used it correctly and secondly, I was here first so fuck you," I said getting pissed off that I had to keep dealing with this meat-head.

"I'm not your boyfriend," he said and something about him just made me want to mess with him so I did.

"Is that what you want?" I asked with a smirk.

"No I don't," he said taking a step back from me with a disgusted look on his face.

"No, I think you do want to be my boyfriend. It explains why you are always messing with me, why you won't leave me alone, and why you can't stop thinking about me living across the street from you," I taunted.

"Shut the fuck up you little fairy," he said with a truly menacing look on his face as he stepped toward me, but something in me didn't allow me to realize the peril I was in and stop myself from messing with him.

"How many nights have you woken up and looked out of your window on the off chance of catching a glimpse of me?" I asked with a smug grin.

"I'm warning you," he said through gritted teeth as he took another step towards me but still I charged forward.

"If you want, I'll be happy to leave my curtain open tonight so you can see me getting undressed," I said and gave him a salacious wink which I think was his breaking point because before I knew it I had been slammed hard against the lockers behind me.

"I warned you, you fucking faggot," he said looking filled with rage as his face turned red. I then realized I had went too far.

"Todd, now wait a minute," I managed to get out as he held my neck.

"Shut the fuck up," he said putting emphasis on every word as his glare bored a hole in my head. He stared at me while breathing heavy but after a few seconds his grip on my neck loosened.

Then he shocked the hell out of me when he pressed me hard against the lockers and started kissing me. I was in shock until I felt his tongue enter my mouth. That was all I needed to snap me back to attention and I shoved him off of me.

"What the fuck are you doing?" I shouted. He looked confused but mostly he looked angry and pissed off.

"You did that," he said angrily.

"I didn't do a dammed thing. You're the one that shoved your tongue down my throat," I said in return matching his anger.

"No I didn't, you-," he started before I cut in.

"Yes you did. Who's the fag now?" I asked and his face twisted up with rage. He started towards me before backing up until he hit the row of lockers behind him. He slammed his fist into the lockers before taking off running the way he came. I just stood there dumbfounded by what had just happened.

"Are you kidding me?" I asked myself out loud.

"I was thinking the same thing," I heard in a voice that I seemed to hear whenever I wasn't in the mood.

"What do you want now Drake?" I asked with barely concealed anger.

"I was just watching the freakshow. You know what's gonna happen now, right?" he said and while I knew, I had to try and stop it.

"No, it doesn't have to happen," I said.

"Yes it does Trey. I'm sure that this will be the final nail in your coffin where the football team is concerned," he said with a self-satisfied smile on his evil face and I worried about the same thing.

"Drake, don't do this," I begged him and hated myself for doing so.

"Aw, buck up precious, and look on the bright side. At least you don't have to worry about Todd anymore and I'll finally have you all to myself," he said with a smug look before walking away.

About a minute later my phone vibrated indicating that I had a text. When I looked I was horrified that it was a pic of Todd with his tongue down my throat. I could just tell from the picture without the memory of it actually happening. There was a message along with the pic that said "a picture is worth 1000 words".

"Are you kidding me."

To be continued... ************************************************************************

Author Note's:

Well things certainly took a weird turn this chapter didn't they. Trey and Calvin were unfairly grounded, but Trey being the smart guy he is found a way to see Bear during his grounding. It just came as part of something bigger that he didn't expect.

Zane has gotten a copy of the pictures that Jessica took of Trey's injuries at his hands and have been using them to punish himself for what he did to Trey. Will he ever be able to find peace with what he did and move on from it?

Brian once again appears and things between he and Bear aren't any better. Even with his friend's apparent acceptance of Bear and Trey, Brian still can't bring himself to even be nice to his brother. Will the hostilities between the Davidson brothers ever come to an end?

The situation with Todd has reached a breaking point. Todd has inadvertantly revealed that the reason that he hates Trey so much is because he's gay himself. This reveal comes in the form of Todd kissing Trey after a heated altercation between the two of them. Drake being a witness to this whole thing just makes it all the worse. What will happen when Drake inevitably spreads the picure he took of them all over?

I just had to say that the introduction of the character of Jerry isn't random and he's not going to disappear without giving Trey a key piece of information about Brian. Also, the introduction of Clyde is the catalyst for events that will atler Trey and Bear's lives forever, although how it truly does this won't be reveled for quite a while down the road.

I hope you all enjoy ths chapter and again forgive me for the long wait. I was intending on posting this chapter as well as chapter 26 before January ended, but I had a bout with the flu that laid me up for a week which kept me from writing anything. Send any comments good or bad to thestoryguy@gmail.com. ************************************************************************

Editor's Note's:

Well, the boy's are grounded after the little fight they had in the last chapter, but Trey was able to find a way to see Bear thanks to Nicole calling for Trey's help with Zane. Speaking of Zane, I can understand why he's torturing himself but that won't help him in the long run.

What is Brian's problem's with Bear, and now that Bear is seeing Trey he seems to be a bit more jackassy as Trey put it. His friend Jerry doesn't seem to have a problem with it but Brian seems to think it was them and not him that had him leaving.

Trey is tutoring a jock from the football team that doesn't seem to be a fan of his, wonder what will happen with the tutoring. Then Todd comes in and throws us all a curve ball and kisses Trey. The pic text had to be from Drake, and I'm sure he'll be showing that around.

Hope you all enjoyed the chapter, If you see any errors in spelling or grammer that I may have missed you can reach me at jd.kaster1987@gmail.com. Be sure to send Nicky a email letting him know about the awesome job his doing as well.
