Chapter 10

Once we had arrived at school, both Daniel and I headed to the commons. We both needed something to fill our aching stomachs since we were living in the hotel and there was no kitchen. I liked the fact we were free, but truthfully, the hotel lacked a lot of the amenities the new apartment would offer. I realized I was really looking forward to the coming weekend and our moving in. It's like I, or we, were going to be on our own. Could it be we were now grown up? The events of this school year sure had made it appear as if all of us were adults with the problems we had endured and triumphs we had achieved. I was thinking about the new apartment, not having seen it and questions about how it was laid out, how it was furnished ... it left a lot to the imagination.

I guess what I was most interested to see was what the sleeping arrangements would be when we moved. I knew it was a two bedroom apartment and all, but I wondered what Daniel would choose to do. Would he want his own room, or would we share a bed like we had so far? It's funny ... for over 18 years I slept solo in my twin bed in my little old room in my dad's house. Then that all changed when I was, well, beaten up for lack of better words. Sudenly I was sleeping between two very hot jock boys. It felt damned good to me, and I had become pretty used to it. It made me feel on top of the world to be so close and so welcomed by these two guys. My hope was that Daniel would choose the latter and still want to sleep in the same bed with me. I would sure miss him if I didn't have him to cuddle up to. Of course I knew Daniel and I were not a couple ... although I was free now, Daniel was committed to Erik. I would do nothing to hurt that relationship. Still, only time would tell how this would all turn out.

Daniel and I both decided to grab a hot breakfast. One thing that I had to give our school credit for was decent, if not pretty good, food. Today they had scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, toast, and juice for breakfast. We went through the line and took a large helping of each; we then headed over to one of the empty tables. As we were eating, there was a stir of laughter from the jock's table. In our school, the various groups claimed different areas of the commons for their unofficial spaces. I looked over to see Jeremy back at his usual position in the center directing things. I smiled to myself thinking he was back where he belonged. It's funny ... as mad and disappointed as I was in Jeremy, I somehow could not hate him or wish him harm. I knew that as far as a couple we were done, that could never be because he'd shattered my trust.

I was sure that something had to have changed overnight. When I saw him last he had been stripped of his quarterback position, and that was something that meant more to him than anything in the world. He was the ultimate high school quarterback. He lived and breathed the role. The loss of that had to be devastating to him, for just yesterday he had looked miserable ... I would even say he was close to being in some state of depression. The talk with his parents couldn't have gone well either. Then again, maybe his parents backed up what he did and that's why he was better. But I couldn't see either Joe or Rachel condoning what Jeremy had done. I knew they loved Jeremy, but I also knew they could not overlook what he had done with Chad. Then, Jeremy turned around and I looked at him a bit closer ... it was then I noticed he was wearing the same shirt, in fact, all the same clothes he had on from the day before. Hmmmm ... I thought, he hasn't been home. Joe and Rachel must be going nuts not knowing what is going on with him.

I instantly got a sad and sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. I knew where he had to be and with whom. Jeremy had been with his new boyfriend, Chad. What I couldn't understand was how Jeremy could have done this to me. It was so wrong after what Chad had done ... Chad almost killed me! But now, what made it even worse was what Jeremy was doing to himself. What future did he see with Chad? Chad would most certainly be going to jail for a long period of time. Then, on the other hand, maybe Jeremy truly loved Chad. Maybe love is blind. Who the hell knew at this point?

I sat there almost in a daze thinking to myself that Jeremy seemed to be in rare form today, taking his group back. Something sure had changed. It was easy to see why I had been drawn to Jeremy and why I fell for him in the first place. He was gorgeous, athletic, and had a body and personality to kill for. He was the total package. Sadly, one day, I discovered this one ugly truth about him and it had all come crashing to an end.

"Don't let him get to you, Jess. He is an ass," Daniel observed flatly, breaking me from my thoughts. I just smiled at him and nodded.

I remarked, "He isn't getting to me at all, Daniel. I'm just wondering what happened overnight. He seems to have left all his problems behind."

The warning bell rang. I wolfed down my remaining breakfast and was quickly out the door.

I next saw Jeremy in science class. We still sat at the same lab station together. He seemed better. He looked rested at first sight and his eyes were no longer red. Maybe he really had moved on. He sat down next to me and said a quick hello as the instructor began his lecture. I began taking notes like usual, as did Jeremy. Later, however, I took a quick look over at Jeremy's notebook and saw that, rather than taking the detailed notes he usually did, he was doodling and only jotting down an occasional note here and there. Jeremy also seemed nervous, preoccupied, and almost on edge. He even seemed to be sweating at one point. The other thing that struck me as odd was the fact he never tried to talk to me again as we sat together. Anyway, the class ended and before I could say goodbye, he bolted up and was out the door.

The rest of the day was pretty normal. I had a couple of things that I had to research in the library, which I did after school. I knew Daniel had a date with Erik that afternoon as well. He was driving over to his house in the next town. I wrapped up my research after about an hour and headed out to my car. The football team was still practicing. As I got to my car, I walked a ways past the field. I was curious how things were going now that Jeremy was benched. However, I was surprised to see that Jeremy was back out on the field with the rest of the team. It appeared to me as if Jeremy was right back at the helm, taking snaps and throwing the ball. Obviously he was back in the role of starting quarterback. I smiled to myself, thinking Good for him, he may be my ex, but he still deserves to be the star. Walking back to my car, however, I still had this nagging feeling that something was wrong with the whole picture. I shrugged, got in the car, and headed back to the hotel to relax.

When I got there, I ran into Chris and Chase who were headed out the front doors of the hotel. They invited me to go with them to supper, but I declined. They made such a cute couple I couldn't help but smile at them.

After school, Daniel headed his car towards Erik's house. He thought it would be nice to see him. Erik said his parents would not be home, so they would have some alone time. When he pulled up in front of the house, Erik ran out to meet Daniel. Erik was all smiles as he greeted his boyfriend. Erik took a few minutes to look over the new car. He didn't say anything, but instead just looked. Erik was not at all happy that Jess had provided him with this new sports car. It's not that Daniel didn't deserve a new car, it was just that Jess had been the one who provided it to him.

As they moved into the house, Erik pushed Daniel against the side wall of the entry way. He pushed his lips against Daniel's, kissing him hard and passionately. The contact felt, at best, okay to Daniel. For some reason, however, something had changed. Daniel couldn't explain this new feeling, but it was definitely there or not there. That special feeling he used to get whever he was with Erik was somehow gone. Erik brushed his tongue against Daniel's lips asking for entry. For some odd reason, Daniel held back a few seconds from granting him access ... he didn't even know why he did it. Daniel had never had this reaction before ... ever since he had known Erik he loved kissing him and he always got a special, warm, unexplainable feeling throughout his body. But today something was different. Daniel was not sure Erik noticed the short delay. He hoped he didn't, because he needed time to figure this out in his own head.

When they wrapped up their initial round of kissing, Erik and Daniel moved into the living room. Erik had ordered Chinese food which had arrived just ahead of Daniel. They dug into the food which was excellent. Neither of them had had Chinese in ages. Both made small talk over dinner about nothing really important. They talked about several things before the subject came around to Jeremy and Jess.

"So," Erik asked, "how are things going at that house you're staying at? You know I hate that you're living with those two."

"Yes, Erik, you have made that clear. I don't understand why it bothers you so much. We are just friends. Besides, it's not like I have much of a choice, do I?"

"No, I guess not. I just wish there was some other place you could stay," Erik said.

"Well, I would have preferred to stay with my boyfriend!" Daniel remarked in a sarcastic tone.

"You know you can't stay with me. I am not out to my parents yet, and if I did come out to them they would be crushed," Erik retorted.

"Yeah, yeah, I have heard that all before. Someday, Erik, you're going to have to come clean with them and be honest. So, the bottom line is, don't rag on me about staying with those guys if you can't provide something better."

Erik sat there in his chair, feeling both angry and defeated.

Daniel went on, "It doesn't matter, anyway. We are not living there anymore."

"Whoa, what happened, and what do you mean we'? I didn't know there was a we' in this ... I thought it was you and him?" Erik shot back.

"Well, to make a long story short, Jeremy fucked around on Jess, so Jess and I moved out!"

"Wow, what happened with that? That is a surprise. I assume Jess went back to his family, but where are you living? I know you can't go back home." Erik asked, eyeing Daniel intently.

"Well, that's also a long, drawn out story but basically, a friend of ours whose name is Chase found Jess and me an apartment. Well, I guess it's Jess's, since he will be paying for it."

"Oh, how convenient for you! The two of you get to shack up now all alone," Erik sneered with a jealous and sarcastic tone.

"Erik, it's not like that and you know it. We are just friends. We have helped each other through a lot. You have nothing to worry about," Daniel said, trying to smooth things over with Erik.

"Yeah, right! I saw how you looked at him and how he looked at you. There is something more than just being friends going on. You may not even know it's happening. Tell me, how many bedrooms does this new place of yours have?" Erik demanded in a snotty tone.

"It has two," Daniel shot back, now becoming agitated. "Erik, you have to trust me."

But the truth was that even Daniel himself wasn't sure now what was going on. He was having all these new feelings. Yes, he still cared for Erik, but he somehow had lost that special feeling he got when he thought about Erik or when he was with him. Daniel began to think about that special feeling. The more he thought about it the more he realized he now got that special feeling when he was around Jess. No! It couldn't be. Was Erik right? Is there something going on with Jess and I don't even know about it?

"Okay, let's not fight. Let's just relax and spend the time we have together doing something special," Erik said with a cocky smirk on his face. He got up off the couch, grabbed Daniel's hand, and pulled him back to his bedroom.

Daniel at first went along easily, but once they arrived in the bedroom, he was no longer sure he wanted the same thing Erik wanted. It was obvious to him that Erik wanted to have sex with him, as he could see it in his eyes. They had always had great sex, but the more Daniel thought about it was just that, sex. It wasn't love, it was sex. Daniel was suddenly scared. It was a totally new realization for him. For the first time since he had been with Erik, Daniel questioned whether or not he wanted Erik inside him. It seemed Erik was naked in a matter of seconds, clothes being strewn from the bedroom door all the way to the bed. Daniel just stood there, still unsure of what he wanted. Erik stepped over to Daniel and began kissing him slowly as he started to help him undress. First, he lifted Daniel's t-shirt over his head and let it fall to the floor. Next, Erik reached his hand out and made contact with the buckle on Daniel's jeans. He popped all the buttons open with ease. Everything was then pushed to the floor, as Erik helped Daniel step out of it all. Both boys were now naked. Erik continued to kiss Daniel, but Daniel held back a bit, and Erik began to feel it.

Erik started to feel his temper rise within him. Things were not right. Erik's muscles tensed, and his skin even became a darker shade of red. He knew Daniel was going to be leaving him for Jess ... he knew it inside of him, in the bottom of his heart. As he kissed Daniel, his temper turned to full-blown anger, but he was not yet ready to show it to his soon-to-be-ex-lover. Erik continued to kiss Daniel, thinking of the good times they had had over the past two years. He had a whole whirlwind of thoughts and images going in and out of his brain. There was so much activity it finally overloaded him. Erik's anger turned to rage and he suddenly snapped when an image of Jess and Daniel together in bed locked into his consciousness. It was all that Erik could take.

Erik grabbed Daniel hard by the wrist and flung him on his back on top of the bed. Daniel didn't know how to react or even what was happening. He went into his submissive mode. That basically was what Daniel was in the sexual arena, a submissive, a total bottom. He always had been and would probably always be one.

Daniel just laid there now giving into whatever Erik was going to do. For the first time he had fear in his mind and he wanted to push Erik off and yell "stop." Daniel wanted to defend himself, but somehow, he couldn't. All he could do was lay there and endure what was about to happen. On some level, he knew he could easily put Erik to waste ... after all, Daniel was the athlete and Erik ... well, he sure wasn't. But Daniel somehow chose to let the scene play out.

Erik was now on top of Daniel straddling his waist with his legs on either side. He pinned Daniel's arm to the bed by the wrists. Daniel was feeling some pain in his wrists at this point but he couldn't resist. Erik was in charge. Erik bent down and began to kiss his lover harder than he ever had before. He forced his tongue inside Daniel's mouth, taking whatever he wanted.

The next thing Daniel knew, he began feeling some pain in his groin. Erik was savagely handling and jacking Daniel's erect penis. It was neither loving nor caring ... in fact, it was downright rough. After a few minutes of that, Erik was fully erect. He raised Daniel's legs up over his shoulders. He aligned himself as he usually did. Then, without warning, he thrust his erect member deep within Daniel in one hard, strong, unyielding push. Daniel screamed out in pain. He could tell Erik didn't use any lube or care in entering his tender love canal.

Once Erik hit bottom, he pulled out just an inch and immediately rammed back into Daniel hard, just to make sure he made the point that he was in charge and Daniel had nothing whatsoever to say about it. Daniel's screams of pain subsided into whimpering. Daniel could feel his ass burning, and when Erik first punched in he thought he felt something rip, but now it didn't feel that bad.

"There! You cheating, lying, worthless piece of shit! You want to be with that fucking bastard Jess, you can have him! But before I let you go, you're going to take me once more so you know what you'll be fucking missing. I will teach you to fuck with me, you worthless fucker!" Erik snarled.

Daniel could not even respond. He just turned his head away so he didn't have to look at Erik. He couldn't even tell him to stop. He didn't know why; he simply couldn't. He just laid there and took Erik's abuse.

Erik continued to hammer in and out of Daniel as fast and hard as he could. Erik's temper still had the best of him. It didn't take long for Erik to feel his balls contract. He soon pumped his full load deep within Daniel's bowels. When he was finished, he got off Daniel and left the room to go to the kitchen for a drink. Daniel was in a fair amount of pain and laid there unable to move.

After about ten minutes, Erik returned. His cock was semi-hard again and his temper had not subsided. He walked over to where Daniel was laying on the bed crying quietly to himself. Erik grabbed Daniel by the jaw and growled, "Looks like we're both ready for one more round."

Erik repeated the brutalizing he had previously performed on Daniel. When he was spent the second time, he stood up, cleaned himself off with a towel, and got dressed. Erik walked over to the side of the bed where Daniel was lying. "I hope you're happy with your decision, Daniel. You know, you could have been honest with me instead of the way you did it. I wonder if Jess knows what he is getting himself into with a worthless fucker like you."

Turning away from Daniel and heading for the bedroom door, Erik did not even look at the boy he'd fucked so roughly moments earlier. In a low growl, Erik said, "I'm going to go for a walk now. When I get back, I want you out of my bed and out of my life for good, you whore. Understand?" Erik bent down, grabbed Daniel's clothes, and threw them on the edge of the bed. He walked out of the bedroom, and slammed the front door shut behind him while Daniel continued to quietly sob into his pillow.

Meanwhile, Jeremy knew he had to go home sooner or later. The pills that Ryan had given him had really healed him, allowing him to get through things. He was feeling a lot better. After all, he'd even talked Coach into giving him his job back. Jeremy at last decided he might as well go home and face the music. But when he got home, there was no one home so he just went to his room. He had just started doing some things on the computer when his mother came in. For a moment they just stared at each other.

As Rachel walked in the door, she said, "I think we need to talk about some things, son!"

She sat down on the couch and Jeremy spun around in his desk chair with a smile on his face. "What's up, mom? What do you want to talk about?"

"Don't you have some things that you want to tell me, Jeremy?" Rachel inquired.

Jeremy got a puzzled look on his face. "No, I don't think so, mom. Everything is going pretty great. But you're the one that came in here. What's on your mind?"

Very confused now, Rachel said, "Well, to begin with, what happened with Jess and Daniel? They have moved out!"

"Oh, yeah, that. Jess and I are done. We didn't work out after all. He left me the other night! I guess Daniel must have taken his side. Who knows?" Jeremy replied casually.

"So, that's all there is to it then?" Rachel said, dissatisfied with Jeremy's answer.

"Yeah, basically. I see they have some crap here yet, I will get rid of that shit and it will all be over and done."

"Son, what happened? The type of relationship you had with Jess doesn't end overnight!" Rachel exclaimed.

"Well, mom, ours did. He apparently didn't love me enough to stay with me."

"Okay, Jeremy, I have had enough of playing cat and mouse. What did you do to cause this breakup?" she said with a knowing look on her face.

For the first time in this conversation Jeremy began to feel pressed and he did not like it. His anger level began to climb. He stood up and walked toward his closet. Turning back to his mother, Jeremy snapped, "You don't know fucking shit about anything, mom, so keep your goddamn nose out of my business. We are just done and that's all there is to it."

With anger in her voice, Rachel fired back, "Jeremy Lawton, don't you dare talk to me in that tone!"

Jeremy reached into his closet, grabbed a few things, and shoved them into a gym bag.

Folding her arms across her chest, Rachel asked firmly, "Jeremy, is it true that you're seeing and cheating on Jess with Chad?"

Jeremy felt a sudden pain in his chest and gut. He could feel every muscle in his body tense, and knew he couldn't stay in the room with his mother. He had to get out of there. He went directly to his desk and snatched up his keys and wallet. Jeremy turned in silence, looked at his mother with a intense look that confirmed the answer she knew was true. Jeremy had, in fact, been with Chad. After the look between them broke, Jeremy turned, walked out the door and out of the house. Rachel just dropped to the edge of Jeremy's bed and sat there trying to figure out what had happened to her son. She wanted to stop him from leaving but at the same time she was so upset and disgusted with him that she did nothing but let him leave.

Jeremy got into his car and sat there, shaken to the core. His world was changing and not in a good way. Where was he going to go, and what was he going to do? He didn't have a clue as he finally threw the car into reverse and backed out of the driveway. But before he put the car in drive, he reached into his pocket and retrieved one of Ryan's pills. It was not yet time for him to take another one, but what could it hurt? Jeremy threw the pill into the back of his throat and swallowed it as he headed aimlessly down the road.

Taking the pill reminded him about Ryan. Maybe Ryan would let him stay there, at least for the night. Soon Jeremy was parked on the lawn of the run-down house. He knocked but didn't get an answer. Insteadm the door opened slightly. He took this as his cue to enter. There were a few people in the living room doing various activities. No one seemed to even notice that he was there. He went upstairs to Ryan's room. When he opened the door he found Ryan lying on the bed reading.

When Ryan saw him, he smiled and said, "I was wondering when you would be back."

"You mind if I crash here tonight?" Jeremy asked hopefully.

"Nah ... you're welcome anytime, man."

Daniel laid there a few minutes after Erik left him, still crying to himself. He was a mixture of emotions at that point—anger, pain, and disgust with himself. He somehow had had no power to stop Erik's assault from happening. Daniel thought, somehow, all this was his fault. He had, in fact, deserted Erik for his feelings for someone else ... someone that didn't even know about these feelings. As Daniel laid there, he was out of it emotionally. It was clear that Erik now hated him. What he had done to Daniel in the past hours had been out of total hatred and not love.

Daniel was in pain. His cock burned and ached from the rough treatment Erik had given it. His asshole was sore and also burned. He felt wetness down there. Forcing himself to get into a sitting position, Daniel realized that his entire body was sore. With difficulty, Daniel managed to pull his clothes on. He stood up very slowly, finally beginning to understand just how much damage had been done to his body and how much pain he was really in.

Slowly, Dnaiel made his way out of the room and house, looking back briefly as he walked to his car. He knew this was the last time he would see this house. Daniel eased himself into the driver's seat of the sports car and made his way back to the Super Eight in the neighboring town. Once in the parking lot, he sat behind the wheel for a while, trying to convince himself he needed to hide this from Jess and everyone else for that matter. Daniel gingerly exited the car and made his way up to their room.

Once he entered the room he put on a good face and said hello to Jess who was reclined on the bed. Daniel headed right into the bathroom. He had it in his head that perhaps a shower would help. Once inside, however, Daniel felt his head begin to spin like he was about to pass out. He made it to the toilet and tried to sit down on the closed lid. However, he stumbled as he tried to sit, knocking the tank cover ajar and making a huge noise in the process.

Hearing the noise, Jess sprang to his feet and ran to the bathroom door, bursting in without knocking. He saw Daniel sitting on the toilet, pale as a ghost. Jess knelt down in front of Daniel and took Daniel's hands into his own. Raising his head to look into Daniel's eyes, Jess could clearly see that something was very wrong indeed.

To be continued...
