The Hidden Past

Chapter Six:

After Chris' mother dropped us at my house, we both hurried up to my room to share a passionate kiss. We both managed to find our way to my bed and dropped on it, without even breaking our kiss. After about 10 minutes of tongue wrestling and needing some air, Jeremy was the one to break our kiss. He stared into my eyes, hypnotizing me with his dark eyes.  "I love you Adrian," he whispered softly.

"I love you too," I whispered back. We both stayed like that for about five minutes looking in each other eyes, Jeremy on top of me, as if we were searching each other's soul, before my mom popped her head in my room.

"Oops, sorry boys, um, I have a snack if you like," she said.

"Mom!" I shouted pushing Jeremy on the floor.

"Easy, sorry for disturbing you, but the door was open," she said trying not to burst into laughter.

"Sorry Jer, and thanks for the snack, Mom," I said just above a whisper, blushing and trying to hide under my covers.

"I'll let you both finish, but wash your hands before you come down, please," she said walking away.

"Well that was interesting," Jeremy chuckled, getting up from the floor.

"Oh, shut up."

I never thought that washing our hands could be romantic. After washing our hands, which took about ten minute of playing, we headed to the kitchen to see what my mother had prepared for us to snack on.

"Thanks, Mom," I shouted to my mom, who was in the living room.

"Don't shout in the house." She admonished me.

"Sorry!" I shouted back, being a smartass. I could swear I heard her sigh.

Jeremy just looked at me and giggled because of the playing between my mom and me. We ate our snack in complete silence; no words were needed, occasionally we looked at the other's smiling goofy grins. We then started our home work.

"Well I should be going home." Jeremy said sadly, after we finished our work.

"I know, but we'll see each other tomorrow." I tried to say happily, but failing miserably.

After getting our school stuff and shoving it in our backpacks, we headed to my room to say goodbye and goodnight. Of course this time I closed my door. After kissing for about five minutes, Jeremy grabbed his backpack and headed out to his house, but not without saying "I love you" at least five times. After Jeremy was out of sight I sighed softly, then went to the living room to watch a little television with my mother before supper.

"That was cute," Christopher's mom said after dropping us at my house.

"What was?" Chris asked.

"Well, they were holding hands."

"Oh, you don't mind, do you?"

"Are they together?" she asked.

"Yeah," he said as a matter of fact.

"And what do you think about that?" she continued to interrogate.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, you know."

"I don't mind, one of them is the one I helped last year. Remember?"

"You mean in the pool locker room at your school?" she asked.

"Yeah," he grinned. But his grin turned into a questioning look.

"What? You think that I'd find that revolting or something? You know that one of your uncles is gay, so I really don't mind and I have a few gay friends," she said like reading Chris' mind.

"Yeah, I know," he said softly.

"Can I ask you a question?" She looked at him.

"Um yeah, I guess." He knew what she was going to ask him.

"Are you gay?"

"I... yes, why?" he answered, feeling his stomach turning.

"Nothing. You know it's OK with your father and me," she replied softly, "But I'm glad you told me the truth and anyway it's not as bad as your other secret."

"I guess."

They both got home in total silence after that, not needing for Chris to get anymore nervous. Not that he was scared of telling his parent, but it's not that easy to just say, "Hi Mom, I'm gay."

The next day was pretty much the same. Jeremy greeted me at the bus stop pretty much like every morning. We then rode the bus to school, where we tried to find Christopher before the first class started, we searched everywhere that we knew he could be, but without luck.

"Well he's sick or hiding somewhere," Jeremy said. "It happened last year, at least twice."

"Oh well, we will see him at lunch then, if he's at school."

"We should head to our classrooms. I'll see you at break," Jeremy said.

"OK, I love you," I replied whispering.

Then we both headed to our respective classrooms for the morning's usual boring day of school. The teacher lectured at the front of the room then gave us an assignment.

Jeremy and I found each other during the break between classes, and we made small talk while looking out to see if we could see Christopher. We didn't see him, so we headed to the next class, which we had together. Lunch time was approaching, but I was a little worried about Christopher, he was fine the other day. When the bell rang we didn't even go to the lunchroom to eat, we immediately started searching for Christopher. We first stopped at the office to see if we could find out if he was indeed at school.

"What can I do for you boys?" the lady at the front desk asked us, without taking her eyes off the computer she was working on.

"Yes, please can you tell us if Christopher Matthews is at school today?" Jeremy said.

"Um, let me check," she replied, typing fast on the keyboard. "Yes, he is at school."

"Thank you ma'am," I said politely.

We then started to search every place that Jeremy knew where to find him, we started with the Library, but he was not there, our next stop was the little shop, but unfortunately, no luck there either. Then we headed for the school pool, but again he was nowhere to be found.

"That's strange," Jeremy said. "I do remember once finding him in the school music classroom, maybe he's there."

"OK then, let's go see."

We headed to the music department of our school, as we approached, we could hear a piano being played, but the sound was not happy, the music seemed depressing. We looked in the room and saw Christopher sitting alone in the room playing a sad song on the piano.

"Christopher," Jeremy said softly.

"Yeah," he replied, stopping his playing.

"Are you OK?" I asked.

"Yeah mostly, sorry did you want something?"

"Tell us what's wrong?" Jeremy said approaching him.

"Nothing really, just a little lonely," he replied softly, like he was trying to hold some tears back.

"Do you want us to leave you alone?" I asked, knowing that sometime when I'm down I just what to be alone.

"No, it's OK, you can stay."

"Why are you here?" Jeremy asked. "The last time you where here you were very depressed."

"I miss my friend, that's all, and I lost someone very important." he said, Jeremy nodded knowingly.

"You mean like your boyfriend?" I asked.

"No, he was a very good friend, we shared something special, but he wasn't gay, so I never actually thought about us being boyfriends," he said sadly. "How I wish it could have been that ."

"Oh," Jeremy and I both said at the same time.

"Have you two eaten?" he asked smiling trying to change the subject. We shook our heads. "Well then I'll treat you at the shop, come on."

We headed to the shop and he did treat us; I've never eaten like that before. We had everything from veggies to meat and the dessert was very good. I'll always wonder where he got all that stuff. We made small talk after that, not mentioning the earlier event. We started cleaning up before the time for lunch was over and we had to return to learning things. He then told us that this afternoon he had a little meeting with the Journal group then he needed to do a little accounting for the shop, but he invited us to join him if we liked. The last class of the day seemed to last longer than usual. The teacher would not stop talking. Finally he gave us our assignment for home. After the last bell rang, I headed to my locker to get my things and waited for Jeremy to meet me. We decided to wait for Christopher in front of his little shop.

* * * * * * * * * *

"Hey guys, I thought that you would come to my Journal meeting," Chris said from the other side of the corridor.

"Well, we didn't want to disturb all those brains with our beauty," Jeremy replied, grinning ear to ear.

"Yeah right, as if you'd disturb those geeks," Chris said with a matching grin.

"But aren't you one of those?" I asked.

They both looked at me and started laughing. We entered the room where all of his paperwork was. He prepared a little snack for the three of us and started to do his math on the week's profit. Then he checked on buying new stuff to sell and preparing the inventory of all the stock he had. Finally, he filled out the order form for the stock that was low. In the mean time, Jeremy and I started our homework, all the while chatting. It took us all about 45 minutes to complete our tasks.

"How come you know all that about managing a store?" I asked.

"Actually I don't know, really. I never thought about any of that, I just do it."

"Not that it looks hard," Jeremy said.

"What? Oh so you think that it's that easy?" Christopher said with a mock hurt expression. He started to explain to us all the managing, stocking and coordination it took.

"OK, so it's not that easy," Jeremy said slyly.

"You do all that and even have time to manage other projects?" I asked.

"Yeah, the first time it's a lot, but you learn fast what to do and then it becomes second nature to you. So for me, yes, it's easy," he said. "Well guys the school is closing, I'll see you both tomorrow."

"OK, see you tomorrow Chris." Both Jeremy and I said at the same time, eliciting a chuckle.

We all headed to the school late buses. There are some buses that come back for the students who needed to stay after school. We all rode the same one, but Chris was the first to be dropped off. After that, Jeremy and I cuddled a little in the last row of seats. Hiding a little, I stole a soft kiss from him. We both stopped, said goodbye and goodnight, and headed to our respective homes.

* * * * * * * * * *

I woke up the next morning to the smell of breakfast. I did my morning duty, especially with my morning woody, and then took a shower, which felt very refreshing. Then I made my way to the kitchen; I saw a backpack on the floor near the front door as I entered the kitchen. My mom was making breakfast as usual.

"Good morning, Mom."

"Morning sweetie, did you sleep well?" my mom asked, staying focus on the meal.

"Yeah I did, but whose backpack is at the front door?"

"That would be mine," Jeremy said entering the kitchen with a wide grin.

"JEREMY!" I shouted. "What are you doing here?" My surprise made him giggle.

"Well I wanted to be here to have breakfast with you and I wanted to help make it, but your mom wouldn't hear a word of it."

"Well you should not be doing it if you want to have it with him," my mom said.

"Thanks, Mom and you Jeremy. I'm really happy that you're here."

"Actually I was here early," Jeremy said. "I was in your room before you woke up and I was watching you sleep, you are so cute in your sleep."

"Aw baby, you should have woken me," I said kissing him softly.

"I wanted to, but I couldn't wake you, you looked so peaceful, I wanted to stay till you woke up, but nature called me to the bathroom. So I waited downstairs so you couldn't see me," he said slyly.

"Well, I'm happy you're here."

"Boys, breakfast is ready and please stop being so mushy," my mom said grinning, stopping our conversation and making us blush and groan.

We both acted like eating monsters engulfing the huge breakfast without even slowing down. My mom looked at us shaking her head. We then washed up and got ready for school, after we both got kisses from my mother, we headed to our bus stop, chatting about school and normal teen stuff. A few minutes later the bus come to a halt in front of us, but this time, no sound came from it. I guess they finally repaired the faulty brake or something. We rode the few minutes to school chatting. Arriving there, Jeremy said he wanted to find Christopher, so we headed inside to try to find him.

"Where do you think he is, Jeremy?" I asked.

"I don't know, let's go check in the Music classroom first."

"OK!"

We made our way to the Music classroom, but Christopher wasn't there, so then we headed to his locker to see if he was there. On our way to his locker, we saw him talking with a girl in an empty classroom.

"I wonder why she's crying," I said.

"I don't know," Jeremy said shrugging his shoulders.

We waited a little; when the girl got up and hugged Christopher I was a little surprised that she appeared to be alright, no more tears, and she passed us saying a little "Hi." Christopher saw us and motioned to us to come in.

"Hey there guys. How are you both?" he asked.

"We're OK and you?" Jeremy said.

"Good, I guess," he replied sadly.

"What's wrong?" I asked. "Does it have anything to do with her?"

"What? No, no she was here because she wanted some advice. She and her boyfriend are in a fight about something," he said.

"Oh," was all I could say.

"So what's wrong?" Jeremy asked.

"Well, I think I was found" Christopher said softly and sadly.

"Where is the problem with that?" I asked.

"Oh, you think? Well it's like it's you damn business anyway" he replied angrily before storming out of the classroom.

"Why did you say that?" Jeremy asked madly running after Christopher.

I stayed there in shock. What has just happened? I really fucked up this time. I wanted to cry, to run after them, but I couldn't, before I could react the bell rang. I didn't want to go to class; I was sad and hurt because I hurt my friends and it was entirely my fault. I headed to the library to hide. I didn't see either of them for the rest of the day and I mostly hid myself. When the last bell rang I grabbed all my things and headed outside. I decided not to take the bus and walked home, not that is was very far, but it was a good walk. When I arrived home Jeremy was sitting on the stairs in front of the door.

"ADRIAN! Where the hell were you? I was so worried about you," he said worriedly.

At that moment I fell to the ground crying; he ran to me and grabbed me in his arms. I couldn't stop crying; he helped me into my house. I was happy my mother wasn't there yet. We headed to my room and I couldn't stop saying that I was sorry and he repeated that it was alright. We sat on my bed, he was still holding me in his arms, I felt so safe, yet so sad because of what I said.

"What happened baby? Why did you hide yourself from us all day?" he asked.

"You were both mad at me, I was so stupid," I managed to say between sobs.

"Hey, he was not mad at you and I was mad at him for talking to you like that. OK, he was angry because of the situation he is in, that's all," he said, rubbing my back.

"But I was so stupid. I hurt him because of what I said," I sobbed.

"Stop saying you're stupid, OK, you are not and he was not hurt. He's just worried about things," he then told me what happened after he left.

----------------------------------------Jeremy's point of views----------------------------------------------

I ran to Christopher.

"Chris, that was totally uncalled for," I said angrily.

"Well he should keep his tongue."

"How dare you, he didn't do anything to you," I said forcefully. "He didn't tell you there was no problem, it was a question, you idiot and it's not like he knows about that." I turned around, but he grabbed me by the shoulder. I thought he was going to hit me, but I knew he'd never hit me for any reason.

"Jeremy, I'm sorry, I know I shouldn't have overreacted, but you know how bad that could be for me."

"Yes, but you should have kept your temper," I said, not looking away from his eyes.

"I know, OK, I'm sorry."

"You don't have to say that to me, it's Adrian you owe the apology to," I said.

"You're right. Let's go see him before it's too late," Christopher said.

We both headed to the classroom, but the bell rang and we saw you running away. I shouted your name, but you didn't hear me.

"Damn! OK, we need to go to class. Try to find him at the break and bring him to me at lunch time, OK?" Christopher told me. I agreed and we parted to go to our classes.

At break I search everywhere in the school, but I couldn't find you, when lunchtime came, I tried to find you again, but without luck. I headed to see if Christopher saw you, but he said that he hadn't. The bell rang, telling the horde of students that lunch was over and I tried to see if you were at your locker, but I didn't see you. I was getting very worried. I headed to my third class of the day. But I was unable to concentrate on what the teacher was saying because I was so worried about you. When the last class was over, I headed directly to your locker, but you weren't there. I thought, `Oh well, he must have taken the bus and I'll see him in there.' But you weren't there. Now I was really worried about you. So I came to your house.

-------------------------------------end of Jeremy's explications------------------------------------------

"That's why I was here waiting for you," Jeremy said.

"I'm sorry, and I was so sad and scared," I said softly.

"Ady, please, promise me you will never run away like that from me. I was scared for you."

"I promise," I said, tears still falling from my eyes.

He leaned over and gave me a kiss, a passionate kiss. He was over me and without realizing it, we both started to rub ourselves against each other. He looked at me, pleading. I smiled and nodded. Slowly he started to take my shirt off caressing every part of my chest.

"Ady, do you want to?" he asked.

"Oh yes!" was all I could manage to get out. He grabbed me, holding me on him, he kissed me hard. We stayed like that for a moment... until we heard the front door open.

"Adrian, are you home?" my mother called.

"Oh no! My mom! Quick!" I said, quickly putting back my pants. "Yes, be right there, just a moment!" I shouted.

I got out of my room and closed the door just has I saw my mother coming. I was hoping Jeremy was now presentable. She looked at me and then looked at the door then she moved to the door and opened it. My heart was pounding, but when I saw Jeremy sitting on the bed with a Math book, I let out a silent sigh. She turned around and looked at me I was smiling goofily.

"You should open the windows a little; it smells weird in here." she said winking, and she went to the kitchen.

I swear my face became blank, I was mortified that she knew. Jeremy looked at me and asked.

"What's wrong, you look like you saw a ghost?"

"She just winked at me, she knows," I said plainly.

"What? But how?" he said looking at me.

"I don't know."

"OK, well I need to go home, baby, I'll see you tomorrow," he said, getting up and kissing me on the lips.

"OK," was all I could say.

The next morning I felt better, but still was a little scared about meeting Christopher. Don't get me wrong, he doesn't scare me, it's just the situation. I arrived at the bus stop and Jeremy was already there waiting for me.

"Good morning, babe. Did you sleep well?" he asked.

"Well, yes and no. I mean, I know we need to talk to Chris."

"Don't worry, he's not mad."

"I know, but well, you know." I said lowly.

The bus arrived and we rode it to school. When we arrived there, Christopher was waiting for us.

"Hey guys," was all he said, he keep looking down.

"Hi Chris," we both said at the same time.

"Adrian, I'm sorry about yesterday, I should have kept my temper. I'm sorry."

"Thanks," was all I said, I really didn't know what to say.
