So today the girls met me at my place which is a Penthouse on Park Ave. and because of this I kept their new stuff at my place. When Marie got there she was our saint carrying 3 fresh cups of Starbucks. We gave my butler Justin our bags and he took them down to the black 2010 Cadillac Escalade, that is actually my car but because we were going to be going to a fancy event I was having this so the car itself would not be crowded with luggage as this is s 2hr trip with traffic and of course in NY there is always traffic as everyone is leaving the city for the weekend to go the Hamptons to relax or as we did head out to party.
About 20 min later we were in the elevator headed down the street where an all white 2010 Bentley Flying Spur was sitting there I called shotgun and the girls got in the back and we were off. About two and a half hours later we were pulling into the gates of my mothers primary residence in the Hamptons. The house looked like an 18th century French château, we actually named the place, Castillo de Baron, corny I know but mom said it was the ultimate symbol of status. Well the service team of the house took all of our luggage to our rooms, which were really cool because when we designed my "wing" of the house I told mom I wanted a sitting room with like 4 bedrooms off of it so I can hang with friends and we can all stay in the same area and so my wish was granted. But before I could go to my room to unpack I had to visit my mother.
She is a lovely woman who until she met Henry Katherine and married him when I was 8 was a hard working nurse and single mother of 3 me and my brother, Alan Carey (30) and my sister Kristine Underbridge (31). They are pretty cool. But mom is one of the most down to earth people I know. She may be in early retirement at 52 but she has worked hard for a long time and I think she deserves it. So I went off to find her, and I knew exactly where she was going to be, in the library. Mom has always loved books and what she does is she keeps this library of books for me because I also love to read and if there is something that she thinks I am going to enjoy she puts it on the shelf if it is not she puts it in a box and when I come to visit I take them back to the city and I take them to a bunch of the schools and community centers. I walk into the library and I find exactly what I expect my mother in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt laying on the chaise with a Nora Roberts novel in her nose with Josh Groban playing over the stereo. "Mommy, Knock Knock," I walked into the room.
"Hey bud how are you, didn't even hear you and your friends arrive."
"I'm good mom, and we just got here bout 2 minutes ago. I figured before we head out, I would come and see you."
Mom looked at me like you just got here and we have had two seconds together where the hell could you possibly have to run off to so quickly. "Mom you know I am going to that party hosted by Alex right?" I asked.
"Of course, but isn't that tomorrow night?"
"Yes mom, but I have a meeting with Alberta Ferretti to pick up a gown that was just shown in Milan for you to wear." "Is today the only day you can go pick it up?" She asked.
"Yes she leaves back to Italy tonight, so I have to go get it."
With that I stood and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek "I'll be back in about an hour. Dinner by the pool just you and me tonight?"
She looked at me giving up "I guess, what about Olivia and Marie?"
"Tyler wanted to meet us for dinner tonight, I will just say something came up and I cant so we can spend some time together. But I have to go now, I love you mom."
With that I left the room and ran to my Escalade and turned the key and sped off to meet with Alberta. She gave me this stunning gown from her resort collection that showed like 4 days ago, it has an umpire waist line and looks simply elegant with a sweetheart neckline and cap sleeves. That night me and mom had a dinner of Filet Minogn with béarnaise sauce and asparagus and scalloped potatoes. As we ate I told her about the colleges I was going to apply to, when I mentioned I wanted to apply to Florida State University, she had a fit. I told her it was my second option if I did not get accepted to NYU. And that I got a job as fashion assistant at Vogue and that come September I would be taking four weeks off school to travel to see all the shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris. Again she was not happy but she eventually folded saying that I was actually serious about working in fashion and could not understand my interest in getting a degree in theater. I told her theater is my joy and fashion is my love, and that if this internship works out I will basically have a job there by the end of high school, and that I already talked to Anna Wintour about working and going to school and the possibility of school in Florida, and she said that if I went to Florida that there would be a job held for me as long as I still wanted it. After dinner I excused my self to my room where I am now writing this, well I guess I have caught up to my day and nothing exciting is gonna happen now except that I am going to jump in the shower and put on fresh Calvin Klein boxer briefs. Throw on some James Horner soundtrack music, I'm thinking Bravehart, to relax me to sleep and then sleep. Big day tomorrow.
