THE KYROS CHRONICLES
~ CHAPTER 2 - 572AD - Gaul (France). Council.
The sound of trees rustling woke Kyros from his sleep; inhaling a deep breath as his eyes became attuned with his surroundings. The smell of the sea entered his nose. If he tried, he could hear gentle waves in the distance. The small fishing town had been a beautiful stop. Kyros loved the sea.
Kyros looked down; Nolan's naked form gently slept against his chest. So peaceful. Kyros found himself gently playing with his soft hair as he held him close. Kyros felt the sun as it receded behind the horizon. He was so intuned with it; his energy vanished when the sun came up. But as it disappeared, he felt his body fill with unnatural energy.
Soon, he felt Nolan stir; his creator looked up at him and smiled. A smile that made Kyros' heart tingle as he snuggled in closer. It had been 220 years since Nolanus had turned him; yet, he still felt as close to him as ever. Kyros kissed his head, and Nolan responded by looking up and kissing his lips, before his creator got up; moving towards the small window near the roof, and removing the fabric they'd laid over it to block out any sun.
Kyros' eyes lingered to his creator's naked form. His smooth, skinny youthful body was enchanting to him - he didn't care if it was his sire to him; it made him warm inside to think about him. Kyros could see his firm, perky bum; up his delicate back and thin legs.
Nolan turned to look at him; Kyros couldn't help but smile. Nolan smiled back; realizing Kyros had been watching him. He moved forward slowly; Kyros' eyes darted down his perfect form to his flaccid cock. Nolan took his hand, pulling him up and kissed him deeply again. Kyros felt Nolan's tongue gently wrestle with his own as he wrapped his arms around him and pulled him close; the action was all it took as Kyros felt himself harden.
He broke the kiss and looked down to see Nolan's thin, 5 and a half inch cock had become as hard as he, pushing against his own. He looked up to see Nolan's lustful eyes - with speed, Nolan moved them on the bed. After a deep kiss, Kyros lay back as Nolan shuffled down, and gently kissed Kyros' cockhead that stuck out his foreskin. As Kyros sighed happily Nolan engulfed him; suckling with vigor as Kyros let out a soft moan.
After a few minutes, Nolan then cradled his hips, gently spitting into his hand and lubricating Kyros' cock even further, before he gently guided it to his anus; lowering himself slowly onto him. As Kyros felt his cock push past Nolan's rim, he felt ecstacy explode inside of him as he felt his warmth wrap around his dick.
He looked down; Nolan's cock started to bounce as he maneuvered up and down; controlling the pace as Kyros fucked him gently. Nolan's eyes rolled back into his head as he moaned; Kyros holding his hips, watching his bouncing cock as the pace increased faster and faster; Kyros moving his own hips in synchronicity.
They'd fucked nearly every day for 200 years. Kyros didn't understand how he never got tired of it. Ever. Nolan's ass squeezed around Kyros' cock as he felt his creator cum; he watched Nolan's dick throb hard just before he started firing his seed in waves all over Kyros' chest and stomach. The contraction of his creator's orgasm brought about his own; and he felt himself explode inside of him. 5, 6, 7 shots of cum as they sighed happily.
Nolan collapsed forwards onto him; Kyros held him close as they breathed heavily. Kyros' softening cock popped from Nolan's ass; and they didn't move for nearly 5 minutes as they held each other close. Kyros hadn't realized that it was possible to have a connection this strong with another being before.
Nolan was the first to rise; gazing happily at Nolan before he climbed off of him. Kyros rose after; they cleaned themselves on the piece of fabric that had blocked the window before they dressed. As they packed, Nolan wordlessly kissed his cheek. Gathering all their belongings, they headed out.
Paying the Innkeeper, Nolanus hypnotized her to forget they were there; the human nodded her head gently. Then they were out in the fresh air. Kyros took a deep breath as they walked onto the road, taking all the elements of the village around them into his senses. The night had been a strange thing to become used to. It had been over 200 years since he'd last felt the sun on his face. But he didn't mind - he missed it at times. But not always. His companionship with his creator made up for that 10 times over.
Looking left, Kyros could see the sea. He'd loved it there, the few nights they'd been present. But now, they had a place to go. Nolanus pulled out the letter he had received, reading it over again. They were headed for a growing town inland - called Paris. Kyros had never been; but Nolan had spoken of it like an old friend. It had recently been made Capital by decree of the king of the Franks.
Nolan had told him little of his previous life. He knew that he'd been part of a group of other vampires. He used to work for them. But when he'd made Kyros into a vampire, he'd sent a letter to them announcing a sabbatical. Ever since then, he and Kyros had travelled Europe - Nolanus slowly teaching him of the ways. Kyros had been a quick learner; and had enjoyed every moment of it. But now, they were summoned to where Nolanus had come from.
They made their way from the village, walking calmly down the country road. Once they were far enough away, they smiled at each other before they sped off at speed into the night; moving off the road and running through the trees beside it; so fast no human could see them. Kyros had become used to this - and he loved it. The speed they'd moved was invigorating; he felt like they were part of nature, as the sounds and scents roared through their ears, swerving left and right quickly as they dodged through their surroundings.
It took a few hours before they neared; hours of running, yet Kyros felt no fatigue, no tiredness. The night fed them with energy unknown. As they slowed down, they moved back onto the road. In the distance, Kyros could hear the sounds of a town fast asleep.
They walked gently through farmlands before they came to the small emerging town of Paris. It smelt bad; but Kyros had smelt worse. The subtle light of candles flickered through some windows as they walked through the street. Kyros observed the interesting architecture. The moon was high in the sky, and the place felt alien to Kyros - but Nolan seemed to know exactly where they were going.
They moved down an alleyway, between two large buildings, coming up to a door. Kyros could see no windows; but Kyros could hear movement inside. He felt himself grow nervous. He'd only met a handful of vampires on his travels with Nolan. They'd kept to themselves most of the time. Now it was time he met a few more.
"Kyros," Nolan started. "Be prepared to see some unusual things," he said. Kyros nodded; Nolan had taught him the value of life and living; but he knew that other vampires didn't necessarily share their sentiments about humans.
"I'm not afraid," Kyros told him with a smile; but Nolan smiled back.
"I know." Nolan said. "I didn't mean it as such. Only that vampires can be... peculiar at times," he added. "But it's time you learnt more about the creature you've become,"
With that, Nolan knocked on the door. Kyros could hear more movement; after a few seconds, it opened. A vampire man saw Nolan's face, and his eyes widened as he stepped aside. Nolan led the way, stepping inside.
It was a large building; far bigger than it looked from the outside. Down a corridor leading past several rooms; Kyros felt eyes watching them as they moved further in. He immediately picked up the scent of humans, and blood. Kyros didn't look into the rooms as they walked; but he sensed vampires looking at them as they passed.
They entered a hall;. The chatter stopped. Kyros felt himself swallow nervously; but his creator wasn't nervous at all. Kyros realized, mingling within the small cliques of vampires were humans; bite marks all over their hands, arms, necks. Men, women, children.
Kyros could sense around 20 vampires present in the room; more within the building. Several round tables dotted the room; near the top was a long rectangular table. A woman sat at the head, who suddenly laughed through the silence.
"He returns at last," she said. She had pale fair skin and long, straight black hair. Her eyes darted from Nolanus to Kyros, and her smile widened. "And I see why you vanished for all this time," she added. Kyros swallowed hard again.
"Hello, sister," Nolan said. Kyros looked at him; he was smiling.
"My brother," the woman replied. "It's been a long time," she said; before she stood and looked around the hall. "The prodigy has returned home," she said to all the vampires present. "And my, what a beautiful boy he's brought along," she added.
Kyros felt all eyes on him; but he showed no fear. He knew himself better now. 200 years was a lot of age behind a vampire. But he suspected a few here were older... therefore stronger.
"And what's your name?" she asked, her head tilting ever so slightly.
Kyros found himself frozen for a second, looking to his creator. Nolan nodded gently at him. His presence put him at ease.
"Kyros Laskaris," he said.
"Kyros," she repeated with a nod. "You must be quite special," she said, "to pull away one of the strongest vampires in existence from his duties," she said. Kyros looked at Nolan, who's eyes were still on the woman. One of the strongest?
"I am Adeline Cortois. The pleasure is mine. Welcome to the Coven," she said. "Any sire of Nolanus is welcome here." she said.
The vampires had started to chat and mingle again. Kyros felt relief as the attention was drawn away from them. Nolan and he moved towards Adeline, who stepped from behind the table and led them out the hall into more corridors out back, and into the furthest room.
"When I didn't hear back from you I had gotten worried at first," she said, closing the door gently. "But I also knew you better than that. No way a newborn vampire would be able to kill you," she said, and looked at Kyros. "And now I've truly found out why," she said. Her smile made Kyros feel strange. He couldn't tell if it was real or not.
"Thank you for your words," Nolan said with a cheeky smile. "The man was easy to deal with. I was just... distracted," he said, smiling at Kyros.
"As I can see," she said. "But now, you've come home," she said, gently sitting in a chair near a large bed.
"You did send for me, after all," Nolan reminded her. She nodded.
"Indeed." She looked at Kyros. "How much do you know of our ways?" she asked. . "A fair amount," Kyros replied. "But not too much, I guess," he said. She smiled wider.
"Aaaah. So he's been protecting you from it," she said. Kyros blinked, looking at Nolan. Nolan looked straight at Adeline, however. He could see his creator felt slightly uneasy. . "I knew it wasn't forever," Kyros added. "We just... spent time together. Peaceful. Learning." he said, looking back at her. She looked less impressed. Expecting a different reaction.
"I know you two are old," Kyros added. "I know Nolanus is 723 years old. I know that you have power, and influence," he said.
She smiled. "Power and influence. You could say that. Your creator and I are direct descendants of one of the Ancient ones themselves." she said. Kyros' eyes widened. That was new information.
"I've called you here to talk," she said, looking back towards Nolan. "The Ancients are forming a council." she said.
"A council?" Nolan asked. "Why?"
"Because apparently we're killing too many people. It's becoming obvious. We need to stay hidden, if we want to survive," she said. "And I agree," she said. "We need rules,"
Kyros stood to the side as they talked. He knew Nolan was old... but a direct descendant of an Ancient? That was news to take in. It explained his age and power. Nolan was nearly 1000 years old already. He'd never felt fear from him... not once, not ever. It helped Kyros move into his new life with ease.
"And what does this have to do with me?" Nolan asked. She smiled again.
"Isn't it obvious?" she said. "Loukas wants you and I on it," she said.
Loukas. The name was new. But Kyros didn't pay it attention - this sort of politics was new to him. Instead, he saw Nolan's face drop.
"Well... fuck," Nolan said, looking at Kyros. "That's interesting,"
"Indeed," she said, a smile forming wide on her face. "What do you say, brother? Are you ready to rule our world?" she added, with obvious glee etched into her voice.
But Nolan seemed lost in his thoughts. He stepped towards Kyros, gently touching his face. Kyros leant into his creator's affection. He could tell his creator was torn.
"I'd have to think about it," he said. Kyros heard Adeline laugh.
"Since when was saying no to an Ancient an option?" she added. But Nolan ignored her.
"Kyros," he said. "Could you give my sister and I the room?" he said. "Go mingle," he added.
Kyros nodded; he looked to Adeline one last time, before he left the room; closing the door behind him. His mind was racing as he took the information in. He didn't know what they wanted to talk about, but he knew he'd find out soon enough.
He made his way down the corridor back towards the hall. A few heads turned his way, but they seemed to pay him little heed. It was a site to take in, the coven. Kyros sat in a chair at one of the empty round tables; to his surprise, a human girl came forwards, and brought him a glass filled with blood.
Kyros was shocked at first; blinking at the glass. But with a thankful nod he took it. The girl bowed and stepped away. Kyros looked at the blood first; the smell was the only thing he could pick up in his nose, no matter how hard he tried. For 200 years, he'd learned to slowly control the bloodlust. It hadn't been easy; at one point, all he could think about was blood. But Nolan had taught him well; taught him gentleness, kindness. In fact.... In 220 years, Kyros had never killed a human. And he planned to keep it that way.
He took a sip; the moment the blood touched his tongue, he felt unnatural energy enter his body, coursing through his being. The taste was like the ambrosia of the gods. It was why he could understand why some vampires were the way they were.
To his further surprise, he felt a vampire sit next to him. Kyros' eyes widened as his eyes laid on a boy that couldn't have been older than 13 or 14. His delicate face was dotted with freckles; he had short black hair, beautiful green eyes and an infectious smile.
"Welcome to the coven," he said; his voice unbroken. "I'm Aluin," he added, sticking out his hand. Kyros shook it after a second; his small hand was soft to the touch. Seeing a vampire so young was a shock, to say the least. It was forbidden to turn any below the age of 12. Even that was unfair. Kyros couldn't imagine being stuck as a child for all time.
"Kyros," he said with a nod, their hands parting. "You're..." he started, but Aluin knew what he wanted to say.
"Young?" he said, a cheeky smile emerging. "A lot of people say that. But I'm older than I look. I'm 86 this year," he said. Kyros couldn't help but smile back.
"Of course you are," Kyros said. "I didn't mean any offence,"
"Do I look offended?" Aluin asked. Kyros was taken aback by his high spirit as he laughed.
"Not in the slightest," he said. "It's good to meet you, Aluin." he added, gently raising his glass and taking another sip. The boy watched him closely; Kyros could tell. He could see questions etched behind his eyes. But Aluin gave off nothing more than friendliness and curiosity.
"You seem... uncomfortable," Aluin told him honestly. Kyros looked into his glass with a smile.
"It's not you, I promise," he told him, before he looked around. He could see a few eyes glancing his way. "I'm new to places like this," he told him.
Aluin shrugged. "I can understand," he said. "You'll get used to it." he assured him. "The vampires here... they aren't used to new people coming in," he said.
Kyros found himself appreciating the boy's friendly presence. It had been the only friendly presence he'd felt since he'd arrived. He glanced at him, gazing at his kind face. To genuinely want to be around him.
"You've been here your whole life?" Kyros asked. But Aluin shrugged.
"Mostly. Leaving makes me uncomfortable," he said. "This is home for me. I like to learn; this place lets me learn plenty."
"I see," Kyros said. "I've hardly stayed in one place for longer than a fortnight," he admitted, placing his glass on the table. "Then again... I enjoy it that way,"
Aluin smiled sweetly. "An adventurer," he said. "I'd expect nothing less from a progeny of the legend Nolanus himself," he said excitedly.
Kyros blinked in surprise. The legend Nolanus? He'd just known him... well, as a friend. A companion. A teacher. It was alien to think of him as a legend. But they hadn't been here in 200 years, and Aluin wasn't even 100 yet. That means he must have only heard stories. And to have stories about you... you must be some kind of legend, after all.
On cue, Kyros heard Adeline's door open; his creator entered the hall with Adeline closely behind him. Kyros saw Aluin's eye widen, before his gaze looked down quickly. Nolanus approached him, gently touching Kyros' face with a smile.
"Adeline and I are going out," he said. "We're going to see someone. I'll be back later," he said. Kyros nodded calmly; he trusted him to the point of no need to question. He'd find out eventually.
Nolan's gaze moved to Aluin; who looked up at him nervously with a small nod. Nolan gestured to Kyros.
"Look after him for me," he told the boy, who's eyes widened again as he nodded quickly.
"Of course," Aluin said. "As you command,"
"It's not a command," Nolan said gently, smiling at his formality. "I'm only asking," he added. Aluin nodded again, his face turning a deep red. Nolan looked back at Kyros; but Kyros could see something else in his creator's eyes. He looked a little lost in his own thoughts. Lots of different emotions swam through his head; Kyros could tell. Kyros gave him a small nod; Nolan smiled, before he and Adeline left; leaving him to feel concern for his creator. He'd never seen him like that before.
"What's it like?" Aluin asked him, dragging him from his thoughts.
"What?" Kyros asked. Aluin looked like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Having Nolanus as your creator!" he said. "Have you and he fought hoards of vampires? Saved towns from doom?" he asked. But Kyros only blinked in surprise.
"No," he said. "No, we certainly haven't. We've... just been keeping to ourselves, really," he said, "Nolanus and I have simply enjoyed life... and each other's company," he told him; his head tilting a little bit. "Tell me. Of some of the legends you've heard of him," Kyros asked.
It was Aluin's turn to look surprised. "You don't... you don't know them?" he asked. Kyros picked up his glass and took a sip, before he shook his head.
"Nolan told me he used to work for this coven. But that was all he seemed willing to tell me," he said. "The Nolanus I know isn't very violent," he said. Aluin's surprise only grew, as he smiled widely.
"Nolanus used to work as an assassin; heeding to the beck and call of the Ancient vampires themselves, working at their command to keep the vampire species a secret; dealing with violent and out of control vampires on the regular."
Kyros took the information in. It explained why his creator had kept it private. If that had been Nolan, he'd certainly changed after he created him.
"Once, Nolanus took out 6 vampires, who were terrorizing the Roman villages South," Aluin continued, shaking his head. "He's defeated countless enemies who defied the rule of the Ancients." he finished.
Kyros nodded. "I see. And... What about Loukas?" he asked; the name popping up from earlier.. "Tell me about him."
Aluin's shock was prevalent. He realized that Kyros truly knew little; and so did Kyros. His creator truly didn't tell him much about his past life.
"Loukas... Nolanus and Adeline's creator," he said. "One of the 5 Ancient, original vampires. He's never told you of him?" he asked. Kyros shook his head.
"No," he said. "He mentioned him a few times. But not his name, nor his nature," he said.
Aluin nodded in understanding. "I don't blame him," he said. "I've never set eyes on an Ancient before either. They truly kept to themselves." he said; his eyes seemed to move out of focus as he talked. "They're old. Very old; over 1000 years old, now," he said. "When they first became vampires, they truly were violent - unable to understand or control their bloodlust." Aluin told him, taking a sip of his glass. "They massacred many," he said grimly. "The stories... they're insane. Loukas is the youngest of the Ancients; and apparently the most reasonable. But even so, when he created Nolanus and Adeline, the three of them had a period of bloodlust themselves," he said. Kyros felt frozen as he heard this information; so alien to the Nolanus he knew, who only taught him the value of life.
"What changed?" Kyros asked. Aluin thought for a second before he answered.
"There were 6 Ancients at first. But the recklessness of their actions caused one of their deaths. Shortly afterwards, they realized the implications of what they were doing. Gained control. So they formed rules; to keep the species safe, and preserve it without exposing it." he told Kyros. "No reckless killing. No reckless siring. Rules that have kept us alive," Aluin finished with a sip of his blood.
"Thank you," Kyros said. "For the stories," he said, sipping his own cup. Aluin gave a nod.
"Only my honour," he said. "So you say Nolanus has been only peaceful while you and he have lived together?" he asked curiously. Kyros nodded, smiling at the memories.
"Yes," he said. "He's so kind. Loving. Gentle," he said, looking at his cup. "A bit different to the Nolan that you've heard of," he said, looking at Aluin again.
"How did you come to be here?" he asked him. The boy was surprised by the question, but he grinned.
"It's a long story," he said, looking at his mug; Kyros could see the wheels turning in his head before he looked at Kyros again. "I can show you, if you want?" he asked cheerfully.
Kyros blinked in surprise. "Alright," he said, putting his glass down on the table. "Show me," he said. Aluin's face lit up; he put his own glass down and stood up. "Come with me," he said, excitement etched into his voice.
Kyros stood; Aluin took hold of his arm and led him down another corridor. He led him into a room, and shut the door behind him. Kyros looked around; but it wasn't significant. It had a bed and a small cupboard; a torch flickered on the wall. No windows.
"What...?" Kyros started, but Aluin appeared in front of him with a smile.
"Trust me," he said. His voice was filled with an essence of calmness; Kyros felt that he did. He nodded; his eyes scanning the boy's gentle face. His features truly were delicate; his round nose and rosy cheeks dotted with freckles. "Close your eyes," he said.
Kyros did as was asked; confused at first, but abided regardless. Kyros could hear some shuffling around; it was a few seconds later before he heard Aluin's voice, filled with vulnerable confidence speak.
"Open," he said. Kyros did; his eyes widened as his eyes darted down Aluin's naked form. The boy's smooth chest led down a flat, skinny tummy; a small tuft of black pubic hair lay above a hardening dick; down his hairless legs. Only then did Kyros truly understand the boy's beauty.
"Aluin..." Kyros started, as the boy took a small step towards him. HIs eyes found his cock; with every heartbeat it hardened more and more. But Aluin only smiled; Kyros' heart started beating faster.
"It's okay," Aluin said, stepping closer; their eyes found each other. Aluin reached forward and took Kyros' hand, and led it up to his chest; Kyros' fingers lightly traced along his skin, along his collarbones, up his neck to his sweet, smiling face.
Kyros' own dick couldn't help but react at the sight and sensations. Aluin's own hand gently touched Kyros' covered stomach; moving downwards and gently squeezing his rapidly hardening cock through the material. Kyros felt himself leaning into it ever so slightly.
Aluin wordlessly reached forward; undoing the binding that held up his lowers; it slipped to the floor, and Kyros' cock stuck up; the hardening cock head starting to poke from his foreskin. Aluin's small hand lightly took the head, pulling the foreskin down slowly as Kyros let off a grunt. He was so gentle.
Without another word Aluin leant over and licked it; again and again until Kyros was as hard as a rock. Then he took it in his mouth, suckling as he moved up and down a few times. The boy then stood up and smiled gently, taking Kyros' hand and leading him to the bed. Aluin sat down, and pulled Kyros closer as he engulfed him again; his nose pushing against Kyros' pubis as he moaned softly.
Kyros' hands took hold of his head, and guided him up and down as the boy sucked him with mastery. So good was he, that Kyros almost came; but Aluin could tell, and he stopped before he could; coming off Kyros got with a pop, and smiling up at him, sitting back to show off his own throbbing 4 inch cock.
Kyros moved to his knees; Aluin gently pulled his top over his head, leaving Kyros as naked as he was. With little warning, Kyros kissed the boy; who reciprocated by skillfully darting his tongue past Kyros' lips. He was lost in the moment; taken aback by Aluin's affection and skill.
They broke off the kiss, and Aluin lay back; Kyros kneeled between his smooth, hairless legs as his eyes found the boy's testicles and cock, hard as a nail. Kyros reached and gently fiddled with it; Aluin cooed happily as he did, before Kyros leant over and took him in his mouth; his tongue darting under the boys foreskin as he bobbed his head up and down to the sound of Aluin's moans.
He tasted like sweet honey, Kyros realized. He tasted good. After a few minutes he felt the boy cum; only a couple of small strands landed on his tongue. He swallowed them; but Aluin's cock didn't seem to want to lose it's hardness as the boy giggled.
Kyros came off of him; Aluin sat up and kissed him, before he twisted onto his stomach, revealing his small behind to him. He lifted his hips, parting his legs a little, allowing the crack to part and revealing a soft, pink hole to Kyros. He wiggled it a little with another giggle; and Kyros knew what he implied. He leant forwards; gently kissing the hole, spreading his spit all over it as he heard Aluin moan again.
He stood up; his own cock throbbing in anticipation as he moved over the boy. He spat into his hand, lubricating himself before he guided it to the small orifice. It was so tight; so tight that Kyros feared he would hurt the boy. But to his surprise, Aluin pushed upwards himself; Kyros' cock head pushed into his anus and Aluin grunted, but pushed more and more until Kyros' full cock was submerged inside of him.
Kyros felt his eyes roll backwards, as Aluin skillfully maneuvered himself back down, then up. Kyros started matching his movements; the sound of the flesh clapping as they started to fuck. Kyros wrapped his arm around the boy's body, holding him close as they moaned together.
Soon, Kyros felt himself approaching; he pushed in hard before he felt his cock start to fire his cum deep inside Aluin with a final grunt and sigh. Strand after strand kept coming; Kyros' body shaking as the orgasm rocked him hard. They breathed hard as he finished; his cock popping from the leaking hole as they collapsed onto the bed. They faced each other; their eyes finding one another as they smiled. Aluin shuffled closer, snuggling into Kyros arms as his small fingers lightly traced Kyros' chest.
"Why am I here?" he asked. "Because I know how to fuck," he said plainly, looking up at Kyros with a smile. "Obviously it's not all. I was a thrall, at first. One of the humans here. But one of the vampires, he fell for me. Saw that I was smarter than the other humans. it's why he turned me," he said. Kyros breathed deeply, hugging the boy closer.
"Where is your creator now?" he asked. Aluin was silent for a moment as he wrapped his legs around one of Kyros'.
"Dead. A long time ago. But that doesn't matter," he said, cuddling closer. "Because I'm happy here," he finished.
They lay for a while; gently holding each other before they rose and dressed again. Just before they left the room, Aluin kissed him one more time. The boy showed him about; led him into a small library room, where we liked to learn what knowledge that was present there.
Shortly afterwards, Kyros felt Nolan return. He met him in the dining hall; where he and Adeline spoke to a few others. The morning was fast arriving; Kyros could feel their energy dip as he and Nolan were shown to a room. There was a small fireplace that burned slowly. He and Nolan sat in front of it; and Kyros could tell that Nolan had much to say.
"Are you alright?" Kyros asked him. Nolan looked at him with a small smile.
"I'm alright," he said. "Just... processing," he said. Kyros looked forward into the flames.
"I guess I could say the same," he said. "I heard some... stories. About you," he said. He felt Nolan's eyes on him, but he didn't look up. He felt his concern.
"That was a different life, Kyros," he said. Kyros couldn't help but laugh a little as he looked at him.
"It's okay," he said. "I don't blame you. For not telling me. The stories... they sound like a different person," he said.
"Because I was," he said. But Kyros shook his head.
"No," he said. "You're you. Travelling the last 200 years, I've known little else but peace and kindness with you. Just because it wasn't always like that doesn't change a thing," he said. Nolan's eyes glittered... with pride, before his creator's eyes found the fire again.
"We went to see Loukas," he said, then looked at his hands. "They're forming a council. 12 vampires. And I'm to be part of it," he said. As he spoke the words, Kyros knew this wasn't news Nolan wanted. But the will of the Ancients... Kyros knew little of them. But he knew you didn't refuse them.
"And I'll be with you," Kyros said. "Every step of the way," he said. Nolan laughed softly,
"No you won't," he said, shaking his head. "You'll be doing your own thing. You're going to go out - and find your way in this world," he said.
There was silence for a second; before Kyros burst out laughing; much to his surprise. It was honest laughter; so much so that Nolan started laughing himself.
"You think you're going to get rid of me that easily? No," Kyros said flatly; standing up and kneeling before his creator, gazing deep into his eyes before he spoke again.
"I. Will. Be. Will. You. Always," he said. Nolan's eyes widened; but soon, a smile spread on his lips. Kyros could see his eyes tearing up.
"I guess I can't really stop you," Nolan said. Kyros shook his head, standing up again.
"Definitely not. And besides," Kyros added. "You'll need a bodyguard," he said with cheek in his voice.
Nolan stood up; moving close to his progeny as he wrapped his hands around Kyros' waist. It was his turn to look deeply into Kyros' eyes. "You know you're the first person I've ever created?" he said.
Kyros blinked. "R...Really?" he asked. Nolan smiled.
"You thought otherwise?" he asked. Kyros found himself feeling irritated with himself.
"I guess... I didn't really think about it," he said.
"Although it wasn't intentional... i guess it was something that was meant to happen," he added. "But... just know that you're probably the best thing that's ever happened to me," he said.
Kyros felt himself start to tear up at the words. He lay his head against Nolans; feeling love so deep as he sighed.
"You are, too," he said. "And we... are in this together, you and me," Kyros told him, before they gently kissed as they felt the sun come up.
