There was a steady flow of patients, and before I knew it, it was lunch time. Right on schedule, Matt showed up in my office. He had sent out for sandwiches and iced tea. We sat at the conference table in my office and began to eat. "So, Matt, what do you need to talk to me about?" I asked. "What's going on with you and Jere?" he asked. "What do you mean 'going on with Jere', Matt?" He said, "You aren't as smart as you think you are, my friend." "I saw you two at breakfast on Saturday, then again at the market on Sunday, looking pretty cozy to me." "Matt I think you are delusional! " "Jere is a nice kid, who is going through a rough spot right now and I am being a good friend."

"You are right, he is a nice kid, a hard worker and damned good looking." "To be perfectly honest with you, he kinda turns me on." "I have thought about asking him out myself." "Matt, I really don't have time for this nonsense and what do you mean you have thought about it?" I asked. He shrugged his shoulders and answered, "Well, sometimes, not often, but when the urge strikes me, I like to fuck a sweet male ass; it is so tight, and feels so good." "Plus, I usually will get a great blow job, too" "No woman can do it like a man." "You know, this is really too much information." I said. "What you do on your own time is your business, not mine." I angrily said. "And in case you are wondering, Jere is staying at my place for a few days." "His girlfriend, Steph, threw him out and he is basically homeless." "I haven't told anyone this because evil minds like yours, would assume something was going on between us, when there is nothing to tell."

"Sorry dude, guess I am just horny for some man action and wanted to see what was going on with you and Jere." he said. "If there was something?." "What did you think, if I was fucking Jere, I would invite you over to have a three way?" I screamed. "Well, that might be fun!" he said. "I may even let you fuck me, dude." My blood pressure was probably was sky high as I yelled, "Get your sorry ass out of my office and if I see you or hear of you harassing Jere, I will have you fired from the practice." "After all, I am the senior partner and I can, you work for me."

"Chill, dude." "And don't make idle threats", Matt said strongly. "Trust me, this is not an idle threat." I yelled. "Now get out of my office and don't call me dude!"

It took me almost an hour to calm down. I pitched the rest of my sandwich and iced tea, knowing if I ate or drank, I would hurl. I picked up my phone, dialed Steve, my other partner and told him I wanted to meet with him without Matt's knowledge. Steve asked what was wrong and I told him it was the same old crap with Matt and I was tired of it. We agreed to meet for drinks at the country club after work.

I then called John Locke, our attorney, to ask him about Jere's situation with Steph. He said he would talk to Jere and see what could be done. I told him not to ask Jere for a retainer and if there was a need, I would take care of it. He assured me it would all be handled without a charge. I also asked him to look over our contract with Matt and see if there was a loophole that we could get rid of him without it costing the practice an arm and a leg. He laughed and reminded me that he had advised us not to hire him, but we did anyway. "You are right as always." "You do a great job for us and we should never question your judgement." "Talk to you later and thanks for the favor." I said gratefully.

With my mind clearer now, I was ready to see my next patient. I met Jere in the hall and told him I would send a text to him later. He had a strange look on his face, and I said to him, "Nothing is wrong, I just will be late getting home."

Finally, the day was over and I was tired. I wished I could cancel my meeting with Steve, but this situation with Matt really needed to be resolved. I left the office and drove to the country club for our meeting. I ordered a club soda with lime which surprised Steve. I told him I was driving back to the condo in the city, rather than to the house, which was on the golf course here. I outlined my encounter with Matt without going into too much detail and told him of my suspicions that Matt had a problem that could have grave consequences if he harassed one of our employees or God forbid, one of our patients. I also mentioned that I had spoken with John Locke and he was looking for a loophole to get rid of Matt without too much trouble.

I also chose to tell Steve about how I was helping Jere. He seemed to understand and didn't question my actions at all. He said, "Adam, you have the biggest heart of anyone I know. I admire you for your dedication to your profession and I particularly admire how you were there for Dani through it all." I replied, "I had to do it, Steve, she was the love of my life. I miss her so much and am completely lost without her." "Helping Jere is a diversion for me, as is work." We shook hands and I left for my drive back to the city.

When I walked in to the condo, I called out, "Hey sweetheart, I am home!" Much to my surprise, Matt raised himself off the couch and said, "Welcome home, dear!"
