The Most Common Denominator
Chapter 2
Lyle flipped the envelope over and lifted the embossed gold foil seal. "Hmmm, pretty fancy stuff!" He said to himself. "I wonder who it's from."
He lifted the flap and slid out the enclosed card. From the embossed image on the he could tell it was a wedding invitation. "Oh, god!" he thought, as his eyes automatically rolled toward his forehead. "Who's getting married now?"
Lyle was not a fan of marriage, in general. It seemed to him that people foolishly squandered thousands of dollars on weddings and honeymoons. He often asked those who were planning nuptials if they were sure that they wanted to spend so much money on something that, statistically, had less than a fifty-per-cent chance of success.
Opening the card he watched as a smaller card fluttered to the floor. Inside the invitation he read:
Bradley Phillips and Carolyn Wayne
Request the Honor of Your Presence
As We Celebrate Our Love
& Our Commitment to One Another
On Saturday, April Third
At Our Home
87 Tradd Street Charleston, SC
"Well now, this IS a surprise!" Lyle thought. "I would never have thought ol' Brad would actually be getting married!"
Brad and Lyle had been roommates throughout college and a few years afterward. They had also been casual fuck buddies during that time, and off and on, over the intervening years. Of course, Lyle knew Brad was bisexual. He had dated a number of women before he had met Carolyn. Lyle couldn't help but think that it might be better if the two had remained simple business partners, though.
While he pondered a way to not show up to the wedding, his eyes fell on the smaller card that lay on the floor. Figuring it was an RSVP card, he bent over and picked it up. To his surprise, it was a handwritten note from Brad asking him to serve as best man.
"Ah fuck, man!" he sighed. "How can I turn THAT down?" To tell the truth, Lyle was really touched to be asked. He and Brad had remained close friends, despite the fact that Lyle had relocated to Charlotte seven years earlier. It was a mere 4-hour drive, door-to-door, and one or the other of them made the trip almost monthly. Still, Brad had two younger brothers and many more Charlestonian friends. It was kind of corny, but Lyle really did feel honored.
He reached into the cabinet and pulled out two large earthen coffee mugs. Into one he put four teaspoons of sugar, then filled both cups with fresh coffee. Clamping the invitation and the smaller card in his teeth, he picked up the mugs and carefully made his way back to the bedroom.
Lee hadn't moved. Lyle placed the coffee on the large bedside table and crawled in behind the sleeping Asian. He reached one hand down and gently grabbed a handful of smooth, firm ass cheek. His other hand brushed the hair from Lee's forehead as he bent over to kiss it.
"Wake up, you sexy little shit!" He whispered. " You have to shower and get your ass out of here and go to work." Lee stretched like a cat and slowly turned to face Lyle. Lyle felt Lee's hard cock press into his belly. Ah, gotta love morning wood! Lee smiled an evil grin and slightly opened his sleepy eyes. "Not before I claim my revenge..."
"Oh yeah?" Lyle replied. "Just what did you have in mind?
Instead of telling him, Lee rolled Lyle over and started fingering his ass. There being residual lube from the night before, he slid two fingers in effortlessly. Lyle moaned in a low voice and this encouraged Lee to press his body to the bigger man's back.
Lee slid his cock fully into Lyle's ass and began vigorously fucking him. He rarely topped, but when he did. It was usually with Lyle and it was usually first thing in the morning. He was not particularly interested in technique or finesse, he just wanted to get off in a warm tight hole. This he soon did and fell back, breathing heavily.
Lyle knew it would not last long. It never did. Hell the coffee was still hot when he reached for it and handed the sweetened drink to Lee. He took a deep sip from his own mug then set it down.
"Do you have any plans for the first weekend in April?" Asked Lyle.
Giving him a puzzled look, Lee answered. "Uh... I don't know. I will have to check. Why? What's up?"
In answer, Lyle handed him the invitation and waited while he read it.
Lee whistled long and low. " Wow how about that. Big, bad Brad is getting' hitched! Who'd have guessed? So, you've already decided to go- with the way YOU feel about marriage?
"Oh, there's more." Lyle told him handing over the smaller card.
Lee started laughing hysterically. He had been drinking his coffee while he read the request for Lyle to be best man, and nearly choked. He coughed and laughed until he recovered. "Oh hell yeah! I am definitely going with you. I wouldn't miss THIS for the world!"
