The One Chapter 13
Suddenly, about 600 Biapeds surrounded me. I was lost as to what to do. I had managed to take out 200 at a time once, but that was pushing it! I was really in over my head now! Maybe whoever it was that blasted those ships would help me? I had no time to count on that. I had to move now. I knew the solar attack would do some carnage. But I needed something more.
"What do we do Feline? They're going to kill us in about 3 seconds." I stated.
"Use the ring...maybe it has some special attack left." She suggested.
"Right. Silver Ring power!" I commanded.
We both started radiating light. That kept the Biapeds at bay. And gave us time to get the solar attack ready. We plowed through the Biapeds directly in front of us. We had managed to escape for now.
We had flown a safe distance before we came out of the attack. I was hoping we didn't do too much damage to the area we had flown through. Not much time to worry about the scenery though. After all we were trying to save the planet all together.
"How many of those things are left?" I asked Luna/the Feline.
"Not sure, that ship blasted about 150 of them first thing, and then we took out about 30 in our escape...so I'd say a little over 400. Of course our scanners could only estimate that amount...so it could be a lot more, but not less...there were lots of them back there." She told me.
"Hmm...we might could take them all out, but it would probably take all our power to do it." I said.
"Prince Starlight, if we use all our powers, we could possibly die." She stated.
"I know, but what choice do we have?" I asked her.
Suddenly, a Biaped appeared. I started to blast him, but curiosity got the best of me. I knew him. It was Dango.
"Hello humans, you are human? Right?" Dango asked me.
"Yes for the most part, but anyway. What do you want? It was very foolish to come alone. Haven't you seen what we've been doing to your buddies?" I thought showing some confidence might pay off.
"Yes we've seen, but what you don't know is there's about 300 more Biapeds on their way now. And there are about 500 others still in orbit around the planet. Your power is sure to fail you. Unless...." He led me on.
"What do you want Biaped?" I asked him
"Simple, I know how insane this war is. The Biapeds will never live though this scheme to take over the solar system. So, I propose we stop them, before anyone else gets hurt." He answered.
"And how do we do that?" I asked.
"You're a witch of great power, I can see this. So, I have a spell just for you." He stated.
Dango handed me the spell, and I must say it would probably work. I wouldn't be able to pull it off normally, but with the ring maybe. It was worth a shot.
"This will send the Biapeds to another dimension?" I asked.
"Yes once they are there they can't do anymore harm to your world." He answered.
"What about that other dimension? Who will protect them? They don't deserve this anymore than we do." I told him.
"In the other place they don't have as much technology as we do, and trust me King Xenon is a moron. He will never know how to re-create our ships by himself. If it wasn't for me, the Biapeds would be no better than barbarians." He answered.
"So you're the only Biaped that knows how to work the technology?" I asked him
"It's not so much technology as advanced magic." He said.
"So your some sort of a witch then?" I asked him.
"Some what. I have been around for a long time. I'm nearly 2000 years old." He stated.
"How did you stay alive so long?" I was shocked.
"My magic has kept me alive, but I am weak now in my old age. I simply want to save this planet with all my power I have left. That spell is much to hard for me to do alone, but with your help I'm sure we can do it." He answered.
"OK, what's the plan?" I asked.
Meanwhile in Aros:
"So they want to kill me?" Kelvin asked Xsar.
"Yes master Kelvin." He answered.
"Have you found Nova yet?" Kelvin asked him.
"No sir, he could be with the others underground. Or he very well might have been caught with the others we killed. I believe nearly a 1000 humans were caught off guard in the initial invasion." He stated.
"God, what have I done? Is it possible that I am responsible for the death of the only man I ever loved?" Kelvin was on the verge of tears.
Kelvin thought long and hard, and knew what he must do. He would aid Dango in stopping the Biapeds. Perhaps he still could save some ounce of his corrupted soul.
"Where is Dango now?" Kelvin asked.
"He's meeting with the glowing humans." Xsar answered.
"So when those 300 come you and the Feline must kill them. That will anger Xenon greatly, and he will no doubt come to earth himself with the rest of the warriors. I'm sure he will challenge you to a one on one duel. But you must not accept it. You need your strength for the spell. Hopefully Xsar will have that part of the plan covered." Dango explained to me.
"Right I understand. But can Xsar handle him by himself? Xenon's one large Biaped." I stated.
"Yes that is true, but its not only Xsar that will be there. I've got a feeling that he'll have help." He answered.
"I hope you know what we are about to do. I'm still a bit confused." I told him simply.
"Don't be Prince Starlight, just remember how to do your part of the spell." He told me.
That would be no problem I had it quite memorized. It was actually a variation on my heat spell. Which really confused me in quite a few ways. Though I understood the spell would zap them out of our world, there seemed to be more to the spell than meets the eye. I just hoped Dango wasn't double-crossing me. But after all, what choice did I have?
As foreseen by Dango the 300 warriors all showed up. The feline and I were ready. We started our attacks.
"Kitty supreme Claw!" She launched a new stronger attack.
"Starlight Tornado!" My new attack took out the rest.
"Wow, where did that come from?" I asked.
"I upgraded your ring." Dango answered.
"Thanks, how did you do that?" I asked.
"Simple I put most of my life force into the ring." He told me.
"But won't that make you weaker?" I asked feeling somewhat concerned.
"My health is not the issue today. I must make up for all the wrong I have done. I will save this planet." He was very determined.
"Damn him! How dare Dango betray me? I can't stand it. I will kill them all 3 by myself." He was in a rage.
"Majesty you must not go alone." One of the Biapeds stated.
"You are correct, I now make you my official advisor Clouray. Prepare the troupes that are left. We are going to war." He stated.
Soon I saw the ships coming. This was it-the end of the war, one way or another. I just prayed our plan worked. It was the Earth's only chance.
'Angela protect Marco if I don't survive this.' I prayed to my guardian angel.
Soon an army of Biapeds led by Xenon himself beamed down from the ships. I knew what I had to do, but I was still a nervous wreck. Xenon carried a large sword. He was looking straight at me when he spoke.
"Human you will face me now! And I promise you will not survive my wrath." He stated.
"It's not me you have to deal with! Now Kelvin!" I yelled.
Kelvin flew at Xenon. He had been hiding out of sight for quite sometime. He hadn't said a word to me, but he was sending me mind waves for quite some time. I knew Kelvin was powerful, but could he stand up against Xenon? Only time would tell.
"Starlight we must start the spell now! Before Xenon kills Kelvin." Dango growled.
I raised my hands to the air and spoke in the true tongue of the Biapeds. It is a language that cannot possibly be written by me, but it was quite powerful language.
After I finished my first portion of the spell I saw that the sky above had opened up and swallowed the ships. It was working! Dango started his portion of the spell.
All the while Kelvin was struggling with Xenon. The two were fighting fiercely I could tell Kelvin was skilled with his sword, but no match for Xenon's strength. I had to move fast.
After Dango had done his part I started the last of the spell. I could literally feel all my energy draining from me. In fact it was taking so much power than Luna had powered down. Her powers had rejoined me in my effort. She had hid behind a near by building to protect her identity. I was glad she'd be safe from this mess all the same.
Xsar had joined in the fight against Xenon as well. The two together seemed to be making some head weight. Why hadn't the other Biapeds attacked yet? I wondered. Then I realized that they were all being sucked into the portal slowly but surely. It was working!
Suddenly the artificial Sun burst into a giant explosion. Had Dango indeed betrayed me? No it couldn't be? The Biapeds were all gone except Xenon, Xsar, and Dango. What now?
Then it all started. The sun appeared in the sky again! After so many years of being without it, the planet was filled with its warmth! It was a true miracle. How had it all happened?
With a last of the spell completed Xenon, Xsar, and Kelvin were all sucked into the portal!
"Good Bye my love!" Kelvin screamed as he was sucked out of our reality.
"Kelvin!!! No!!!" I screamed.
"He'll be OK Nova." Dango told me.
"Nova?" I questioned.
When I looked down I saw that I had indeed powered down. I had used the last of the silver ring's powers with the spell. I had not died, but I was very tired.
"You have done well human. You have not only saved the earth, but also returned order to the solar system. The sun is now free to shine." He said.
"How is it all possible. I thought the sun was moved out of the solar system by that strange comet?" I asked.
"No that was my best trick yet though! I made it look that way, but in reality I had put a magical cloak of sorts over the sun. It blocked its powers for a time. With the sun gone we were able to come out again. We were slowly taking over the solar system, and probably succeeded if we would have followed my plan. But no, Xenon had to be greedy. Now he's failed." He told me.
"So the Sun has been here all along then?" I asked.
"Yes, just under wraps. Now it is free to shine, and warm the solar system again." He stated.
"Thank you Dango, you did the right thing turning against Xenon." I told him.
"I know, but now I'm all done up. I have no more power left. My life will end soon Nova. Just promise you'll take care of my son." He asked of me.
"Son?" I asked.
"Yes, I have a son. I helped him to hide with the other humans at the start of the invasion. I knew he wouldn't make it otherwise. Your lover Marco is with him." He told me.
"Marco?" I asked.
"Yes, he's with the other survivors. Here is a map to the door to the certain shelter they are both in." With that the old Biaped died. I was very heart broken to see him gone. In the end he had been a great friend to our planet.
I gathered Luna in my arms, and we started flying toward the location on the map. I was so excited. Why hadn't Angela told me Marco was back? It was wonderful. I was on cloud nine. I had not only saved the Earth, but also returned the sun. Gee, do you think I'll make the history books? LOL!
We found shelter and I managed to push the call button on the top.
"Yes, who is this?" A familiar voice asked.
"Marco is that you?" I asked with tears in my eyes.
"Nova!" He screamed back.
"Yes its me my love!" I was in heaven.
Soon the ground around me shifted and the metal door opened. Marco popped out and gave me a warm hug.
"I thought I'd never see you again Marco. How long have you been here?" I asked.
"I got back a few days ago. I couldn't for the life of me remember who I was. I just knew I was not supposed to be alone. When the invasion started I hid here with the other people in this sector. But all the sudden this Biaped baby showed up." He said pointing to a small cub crawled up close beside him.
"So you lost your memory?" I asked him.
"Yes, but when I heard your voice, and when you said my name it all came back to me." He told me.
"I bet it was Angela. She took your memory away, because she knew you'd try to help me back there in the war. And that would have only got you killed." I told him.
"Yes I'm sure that was what it is. Cause your right, I would have got right in the middle of it." He laughed.
I kissed him deeply, and held him in my arms. I had a family once more. I had Marco, Luna, and a new son.
"What shall we name him?" I asked.
"How about Bennie?" Marco smiled.
"That sounds nice." I answered.
I looked and noticed it was almost time for the sun to set, or at least I think so. It was lowering rapidly.
"Wow how beautiful!" I stated. It was my first sunset.
"What??? That's the sun! The sun I read about in my history book! How is that possible?" He asked.
"It's a long story!" I told him.
We sat down on near by rock and watched as the sun set. Soon we found that we were not alone. The other people had came out to watch as well. I imagined that people all over the planet were coming out as well. And at different times we would all see our first sun set. It was the most romantic and peaceful moment in my whole life. And I got to enjoy it with Marco.
I kissed him deeply as we got up to go back to my house. The transports were working again. And the four of us made it quite easily into my apartment. Thank goodness we'd be moving soon. After all, our family was growing!
Marco and I crawled into bed and made out for hours. Eventually my tired body gave out, and I slept.
To be Continued.
Wow that was cool. We finally saw the end of the whole Biaped subplot. HEHEHE. Now Marco and Nova are together again, with a new adopted son of sorts. What is next for the two of them? We'll just have to wait and find out. I'm really enjoying this story. And I hope you will continue to enjoy it with me. I know the last two chapters were setting off the cheese alarms, but hey! It's fiction! LOL! Love you all!
