The Truth on Love Chapter 4

"Devin, Deeevin," said Carmen. She poked him just to make sure he was still alive.

Devin moaned and lifted his head up.

"You slept the whole class period. You looked too peaceful for me to wake you up," said Carmen gathering her books as well as Devin's.

They both walked out the door and to their lockers. The hallway was crowded, but was slowly emptying with kids rushing to leave for home.

"So, are we still on for our date?"

Devin closed his locker and noticed Drew leaning up against the locker to the right of him.

"Date? When did `I' ever agree to a date?" said Devin playfully.

"I figured you already knew what I was all about." Drew winked.

Devin looked away from Drew. If he continued to look at him, he would be the definition of red.

"I think I'd rather just get some rest. I wouldn't want to pass out on your so called `date'."

"It's cool, we could hang out another time," said Drew. "I'll see ya later man. Get better." Drew gave him a quick bye and left.

Just as Devin was about to bang his head into the locker, Carmen put her hand in between.

"That'd be bad for your head. I suggest you go home and straight to bed mister."

"Carmen, what symptoms would you associate with having a crush on someone?"

"I don't know. Maybe you want to constantly be around said person. You're always trying to engage in conversation. You also tend to flirt with them and make hints at your liking of the person. And..." Carmen turned to Devin and said, "Oh my gosh, you like Drew."

"Actually, it's the other way around." Devin looked down at his shoes. He didn't know what to think of it.

"Can you move?" said an annoying little voice. Her tone of voice was that of a preppy school girl.

Both Carmen and Devin moved out of the way for this girl.

As she turned the corner, Carmen said, "What's her problem?"

"Probably on her period," said Devin.

"Or another one of her constant roller coaster break ups. Whatever and who cares. You on the other hand need to get yourself home and into bed. Must I say it a third time."

"Fine, but only if that means you'll be inviting me to some ice-cream tomorrow."

"Ice-cream? In October?" asked Carmen.

"Why of course. That's when ice-cream tastes the best. I'll see you tomorrow then." Devin waved goodbye and walked away.

---the following day---

Devin woke up to find the sunshine leaking through his curtains. The sleep he got definitely helped his headache. He wasn't in pain anymore.

Devin turned on his Surface and Skyped Carmen. She was always on in case, in her words, some cute guy might unexpectedly want to chat with her.

"Hey sleepy head, how was your nap?" asked Carmen. She was straightening her long black hair.

"It was more than a nap. And it was good. Do you want to walk to school with me?" asked Devin.

"Any special reason why?"

"Does there have to be?" Devin put his head down.

"It's Drew isn't it? I think you should give him a chance. He seems really nice."

Devin raised his head up quick and said, "Says the girl who constantly complains about all guys being jerks. Since when did you start liking Drew? You always hated him."

"Correction, I disliked him. Big difference. And since I saw how happy he makes you." Carmen started to smile. "Don't look away, I know how badly you want to smile right now."

"Shut up," said Devin, putting his head down again.

"Okay, I'll walk with you to school and keep Drew away. But only for today."

"Thank you. I'm going over to your house right now and if you're not ready... She just hung up on me." Devin sighed and signed off.

He grabbed his book bag heading down the stairs and into the kitchen. He grabbed the lunch money his mom had left him and left to Carmen's house.

♪Ding-Dong

"Bye mom," Carmen said, closing the door. She grabbed Devin by the arm and started rushing down the sidewalk.

"What's the big hurry?"

"You said you wanted to avoid Drew today. Well Drew arrives at school early so you have to go go go."

Once they had set foot on school grounds, they power walked to the entrance doors.

Without being noticed, Drew stepped in place of Carmen as they split course.

Noticing Drew's grip on Devin's arm, Carmen said, "Have fun you two."

"What a great friend she turned out to be," said Devin.

"I know I can call her a friend."

Devin huffed and looked away angrily.

"Oh come on Devin. Don't get so upset. I'll treat you to some good ice-cream after school," said Drew.

Devin's eyes widened.

"That little..."

"Please don't be mad at her. If there's anyone you should be mad it should be me. I was the nosy one. I'm sorry, but I'm just so fascinated in you. Believe me, there's something about you that I just can't," Drew said but was interrupted by Blake and his group of friends coming down the hall.

"Hello Devin," Blake said to Devin. "My friend here wants to apologize to you for giving you such a hard hit yesterday."

Devin looked over to the tall blond headed kid. He said nothing.

"I'm sorry, he's a little shy when it comes to admitting his mistakes," Blake said with a smile.

"I don't have to apologize for anything. I'm not the one who wanted to knock him out cold. This was all your plan," said the tall kid.

Blake stood still not saying a word.

Blake's other friend, Tyler, stepped in and said, "He doesn't know what he's saying. I think we've taken enough of your time already. Sorry."

Tyler tried to drag Blake along but he wouldn't budge.

Blake gave Devin a look that only he could understand.

Drew noticed this and pushed Devin along back to his locker.

"What was that about?" asked Drew.

"What? He was trying to make his friend apologize."

"Not that. The stare."

Devin looked away but Drew grabbed his chin and forced Devin to look at him.

"Why do you care? It meant nothing."

Devin shut his locker and left Drew only to wonder.

"What to tell me what's wrong?" asked Trevor.

"You're not very good at listening," said Devin.

"True. Let's say we leave this army project till tomorrow. I think you need some time to relax."

Devin stared at the door. He didn't know why, but he thought that maybe the answer to his complications would come walking in through that door. And he was partially right.

In came Blake and his friend Tyler. As Blake stepped in the library, he gazed over at Devin. Devin didn't really want to look away but Tyler and Trevor interrupted their trance.

"I sure hope he didn't catch you staring at him. Otherwise you're in big trouble," said Trevor with a look of concern.

"No, we were just silently saying hello to each other." Devin still kept his eyes on the door.

Trevor let it go and continued texting his friend.

"You're not supposed to be texting during school," said Devin.

"Yeah, but I never follow directions. I gotta pee real bad."

Trevor left to go to the bathroom. From afar, Blake took this as the perfect opportunity to be able to talk to Devin. He walked over to his table and pulled a seat up.

"Hey, buddy."

Devin looked over at him and saw those beautiful eyes again. Devin being Devin, he looked away.

"You don't have to be afraid of me. I just came to apologize. Well no, no I didn't. What I mean to say is that I did not plan for you to get hurt. Believe me. I would not want that for anyone. Much less you."

This caught Devin off guard. He looked over at Blake.

"I believe you," said Devin.

Blake breathed out and laid back on his seat.

"I feel so much better now," said Blake.

This made Devin laugh.

"You're so funny. You almost made me believe that part."

Blake laughed, but instantly stopped and left when he saw Trevor approach the table.

"Now why do you have to go and ruin all the fun. He was just about to beat my ass for looking at him." Devin tried to say this with a straight face, but it wasn't working out.

"It's not funny," said Trevor.

"Your face is though. I'm kidding. Take a joke Trevor. You're not the only one allowed to joke around."

"I know." Trevor smiled.

While in the locker room, Kyle decided to have a little fun with Devin.

"Hey Blake, I have a really fun job for you to do," said Kyle. "Go to that kid over there and start talking to him while undressing. Make it seem like a casual conversation."

"Who, Devin?" asked Blake.

"Yeah."

"No way man. I'm not doing that. That's cruel," said Devin.

"But funny. Come one man, don't be a pussy. Show us all that you have no fears. You rule this school."

"I thought Drew was the one who ruled the school," said Blake with a smirk.

"Honestly who cares. Just go over there. And ah, I'll be sure to tip one of my lady friends to sleep with ya," said Kyle with a wink.

"What ladies? You haven't had anyone since you and Drew became friends. Drew gets all the pussy while you watch and play with the leftovers," said Tyler.

This made everyone in the locker room laugh. Kyle was close to losing it.

"What are they laughing about?" asked Devin.

"Oh, they're just picking on each other. It's normal for us guys. I never asked you, did you ever recover from that headache of yours?" asked Blake.

"Yeah, I feel much better now."

As Devin was answering his question, Blake was taking his shirt off. It revealed all the muscles boys dream of getting. With nicely formed abs and pecs, he was the definition of fantasy.

"Well that's good. I'll make sure no one hurts you again."

Blake took off his pants leaving nothing but his tight black boxer briefs. He was worthy of being one of those underwear models.

Devin looked away in embarrassment. Blake realized this weakness and moved in to take advantage of it.

"Hey, we're all guys here. We look at each other all the time. We like comparing. And obviously I'm one of the best," said Blake with a smile. He was quite proud of that.

Blake pretended to adjust his crotch while he had Devin's attention.

"You like?" Blake asked, pointing to his body. "I bet you've never been this close to a body like mine. Go on, you can touch it."

Devin was confused by Blake's words and actions.

Blake smirked and grabbed Devin's hand. He placed it on his pecs and trailed it down to his abs.

"You like the feeling of that? It feels nice doesn't it," said Blake. He was enjoying this way too much.

He took it a little too far when he pushed Devin's hand even farther to his crotch. He opened Devin's hand and made him grasp his dick.

Blake was almost sure he could feel Devin's heartbeat through his hand. He enjoyed it. He enjoyed being in control. He smirked and moved in closer to Devin. He pushed Devin against the wall with his hand still on Blake's crotch.

"Want to get to know it a little better?" Blake asked, whispering in his ear.

Blake pulled the waistband down and made Devin grab a hold of his dick.

No one could see this because Blake had his back to everyone. This was only between him and Devin.

Blake moaned into Devin's ear. He liked having his dick touched. With Devin it felt different, it felt new.

Blake let go of Devin's hand and pulled away from the wall.

Devin fell to the floor, looking down as if ashamed of himself.

Blake smirked and walked over to finish getting dressed. No one else said a thing.
