The Wounds Within My Heart
Chapter 11

The printer finished the last of the papers. Once the secretary gathered them up, he took them to be mailed to David Swanson. The papers in question were ones that would give him control over the nine hundred million dollars that Ray and Barb Wilson had stored away. One could easily assume that they had almost finished drinking away the money before they were dealt with, but they used the money they had coming in on the surface to buy their alcohol and finance their parties. The money that was hidden away, they would use that if things required it. They had no intention of allowing Nohea to have it. Once they were removed from the equation though, David had immediately put his attorneys to work to get the money in his name.
Once he took over the money, his plan was to use it for anything that Nohea would need. This would be things like technology related to his blindness needs, as well as some of it going towards helping Triston. The rest of it would be used for all of the family and anything they would need. David would still continue to work his usual jobs, but he definitely didn't want the money to go to waste if it didn't have to.

David picked up his phone as the clock showed 5:30 P.M. on Saturday evening. He was starting to decide on dinner options when his phone rang. Once he looked at the screen, he saw that it was his attorney calling. David listened for a few seconds, then confirmed everything. Thanking him profusely, David put down the phone after ending the call. He was relieved to have that taken care of. Now he was going to go find Nohea, Pietro and Triston so they could figure out what to do for dinner.

Nohea
Pietro and I awoke a little after 5:00 P.M. that Saturday evening. We showered, then after changing into clean lounge clothes, we sat talking for a bit about how much we were enjoying the weekend. Triston tapped on the door knob after a while, and we joined him in his room.
While we were in his room, we helped him with drawing a couple of pictures. They were turning out really well. The first one was of a winter day with snow all around the forest. The second one was of a sunset, that from the way he and Pietro described it to me, was truly beautiful.
Once the pictures were done, I heard a knock at the door. Triston got up to get it, and dad walked in. He let us know that we had the option of going out to eat, cooking something at home or having dinner delivered. Triston made a sound that I quickly recognized as the one he made when disapproving strongly about something. Pietro typed for a moment.
"Is that sound about not wanting to go out tonight?" Pietro asked.
"Yeah," Triston typed back.
"I don't blame either one of you," I said.
"I'd actually rather stay back here at home as well," dad said.
We discussed it for a moment, then decided on pizza and wings for our dinner that night. Dad went to order it, and Triston moved quickly, sitting down on my left on the edge of his bed. Pietro was on my right, and as Triston scooted close to me, he took my arm and moved it to around his shoulders. I rested it there pulling him closer.
"It's alright," I said kissing the top of his head. "I'm right here, and I'm not going anywhere."
He made a sound of contentment, and rested against me. I really loved when he did that, and I could see in that moment just how much he loved me, as well as looked up to me. I loved him just as much!
Soon, dinner arrived, and we sat around the table enjoying everything. We had Meat Lovers Pizza and hot wings. It was really nice being there enjoying the food, and having my boyfriend along with the rest of my family around me that night.
The rest of the evening was spent with us watching TV for a while. Eventually I began feeling my eyelids grow heavy, then even more so. Pietro was resting his head on my shoulder and Triston was almost asleep leaning against my left side. After a while, I gently moved Triston, then stood up after making sure that Pietro was awake. I said good night to dad, then to Triston. After making sure that Pietro was next to me, we went to our room. Once I closed the door, I brushed my teeth then relieved myself. Pietro did the same, then we got into bed snuggling up to each other under the covers.
"It's been a really amazing weekend and a truly wonderful day and evening," I said staring into Pietro's eyes. "I mean, aside from the fucked-up shit that happened earlier this morning, I'll always remember how good it was today."
"Me too," Pietro typed then kissed my cheek.
"I love you," I said.
"I love you too," he replied.
After turning out the bedside lamp, Pietro took me in his arms and I fell immediately asleep safe and happy wrapped in his embrace!

The next day I went back home with my family. When they came to get me, I was worried that they might be upset with David. I worried that they might be afraid that he didn't do enough to protect all of us, and I didn't want them to be angry with him. When they arrived though, they warmly greeted David, Triston and Nohea. They sat down in the living room with all of us for a few minutes. While we all sat there, we all explained more in depth what had happened.
"That's all truly horrible," my mom said. "Barb Wilson truly sounds like she's got major issues to say the least!"
"I agree," my dad said. "I don't understand how anyone could ever treat their kid or any kid like that!"
"You're sure you're alright Nohea?" my mom asked.
"We were really worried about all of you," my dad added.
"I'm alright," Nohea replied. "I'm actually just trying to process everything. I'm just glad that mine and Triston's dad was here to protect all of us!"
"So am I," my mom said.
"Me too," my dad added.
"We're always here for all of you too," Lexy spoke up.
They all said that they really appreciated that, and they thanked my family.
"I just wanted to let you know that we don't have any worries about Pietro continuing to come over here," Mom said. "We truly do see how protective you are of those you love, David."
"That's something that means a lot," dad said.
"I just wanted to say that," mom said.
"That really means everything to hear you say that," David replied.
After we all hugged, I got up and my family and I returned home. I let Nohea know that I'd call him once we arrived back to the house, and I was definitely looking forward to our call.
Once back home, I let my family know that I'd be on the phone with Nohea. They said alright, and I returned to my room. Sitting down on the edge of my bed, I called the love of my life, and let him know that I made it back home.
"Thanks, I'm really glad to hear that you had a good trip back to your house," Nohea said smiling warmly at me.
"You're welcome, so am I," I answered. "Also, I'm really glad that my family said what they did back at your house earlier. I don't know what I would have done if they decided that I couldn't come over there. It would have made it rather difficult for us to see each other."
"I agree, it definitely would," Nohea replied. "They're truly a really nice and loving family. I'm glad that you're a part of them, and that they're as supportive of you as they are."
"So am I," I answered.
Once we finished up the call, I heard a knock on my door. It was my mom and dad. I let them in, and they sat down on the edge of my bed while I sat back down at my desk.
"We wanted to talk to you for a moment," dad said. "We could tell that you were rather worried about whether or not we would keep letting you go over to Nohea's house given, what had happened Yesterday morning."
"Obviously that could have become a deadly situation," mom added.
"Fortunately, it didn't, and I completely trust David to keep a safe and secure house for everyone who's with him," dad went on.
"I can see how much you and Nohea care for each other and that's the other reason we didn't want to limit your contact with him," mom said.
"Nohea is a really huge part of your life, and from what I can see, he always will be," dad said.
"He absolutely is," I answered. "It sounds like you guys know exactly how I feel about him."
"Definitely," mom said.
"I picked up on it," dad added.
"We just wanted to let you know that we support the two of you being together as a couple," mom said.
"I don't know if you and Nohea had planned on when to tell us and David, but we just wanted to put it out there about you two having our support," dad went on.
"That really means a lot to hear you say that," I said. "Nohea and I were thinking about when to talk with you guys about it. I'll let him know what the two of you said. David talked to me about it earlier too, so I know he supports us as well."
They were glad to hear that, and soon we finished talking. They left my room and I laid down to rest for a bit. I was glad that we talked about all that, and it was really nice to have their support!

Nohea
The rest of that Sunday evening was spent with Triston and I working on playing with some clay that he had. He really loved making different sculptures, and he did a really good job with it. After he finished the sculpture of the bird he was working on, I checked it out and told him how nice it was. Putting away the clay, I helped him with getting his shower.
Like with some Autistic kids, Triston had issues with executive functioning. He could get in the shower, but would want to play in the water for almost the whole evening if one of us didn't keep him on track. So, while my dad worked on getting dinner cooked, I helped Triston with staying on task as he showered. It was just mainly me giving him verbal direction on washing.
We were almost done as I stood outside the bathtub. He was finishing up with washing his legs and feet, then I heard the shower curtain move, as well as Triston laughing.
"You better not try splashing water at me," I said laughing and backing away.
Sometimes when I wasn't focused directly on him, he liked to flick water at me when finishing up his shower. I was dressed in my pajamas, so it wasn't too big of a deal. It was just mainly about making sure that there wasn't any water soaking the floor and to keep people from falling.
"Okay, if you're finished let's turn off the water now," I went on.
Triston did so then I handed him his towel. It didn't take long for him to dry off. He hung up the towel then I handed him his clothes. Stepping into the boxers and sweat pants, he spent a moment with the shirt then. Turning it so that the front of it was turned towards me, Triston was able to put the shirt on the right way.
"You did good tonight," I said hugging him. He hugged back, then we left the restroom.
We walked back towards the bedrooms and Triston turned towards where my room was. I went in there with him, and after I sat down at my desk, he made a slightly offended sound.
"Oh, okay, I'll sit over there with you," I said. "Sorry about that."
I took my phone over to where my brother sat, and once seated, I put an arm around him.
"I'm really glad that we all had a really nice weekend in spite of what happened yesterday morning," I said.
"So am I," Triston typed. "It was really nice seeing Pietro again too."
"I agree, it really was," I answered. "I'm so glad that you and he are becoming really good friends."
"He's really nice, and I can see why you love him as much as you do," Triston went on.
"Thanks, and I love him more than anything," I replied.
"I hope you guys can always be together," he said.
"I really hope so too," I answered.
A silence settled over us as I sat there with my brother. He was snuggled against me, and I held him and stroked his hair with my other hand for a while. It was really nice just being there with him like that. It was really nice to know that we were all safe at that point.
Soon dad called out that dinner was ready. Triston and I came into the kitchen, and once seated, Dad sat down at the head of the table. Triston and I got food on our plates, and we started eating.
"I wanted to see if you guys would still like to go to the cabin here soon," dad said. "I know we had talked about that a bit, but haven't had a chance to discuss it further yet."
"I'd really love that," I answered.
"Me too," Triston said.
We decided to do that the following weekend. I told dad that I'd text Pietro after dinner, and he said that would be fine.
After dinner, I helped with cleaning up. It went fast, and soon I was back in my room and sending a text to Pietro regarding the trip to the cabin. Dad was texting Pietro's parents, and it didn't take long to hear back from all of them. Pietro said he'd love to go, and his parents agreed. I was really glad to hear that, and so it was all set.
Author's Notes
I imagine that some of you were wondering if Pietro's parents would worry about him ever being safe at David's house going forward. I hope that I was able to put any of those worries to rest. I also wanted to include a little more time between Nohea and Triston to further strengthen their bond with each other. I hope you guys like how I handled that. You'll get to see them all actually go to the cabin in the next chapter. In that chapter, they'll be spending the whole weekend there, so you'll get to read all about that coming up next.
All that being said, I hope you're all doing well. I hope everyone is having a good evening, and I'll see you all in Chapter 12.
