Chapter 5 "Mama's Boy"
We had been dating for about 5 months when he told me that his mother was having one of her famous dinner blessings for her family and she wanted all of her children, all 8 of them, to be there with all the family. I had heard so much about his mother and she sounded like such a wonderful women, but I had never meet her before, so all this talk about family lead me to wonder what he was telling me all this for. He finally said I am telling you all this because my mother wants all of us to go to church with her, and she wants me to bring you as a part of our family. I heard what he was saying, but it was not registering with me that he had obviously told his mother about me and had gone into great detail about who I was in his life and what roll I played. I looked up at him from my lunch as he waited for a response and the only reason I said something was because he said, "Well... please say something!!!" I smiled at him and said, "are you sure your mother wants the guy you are dating at a family function like this?" He smiled slyly and said, "My mother wants my mate at our family function, I've told her all about you and if you don't come she is going to be very upset." I smiled at him as I said, "well then you can expect me to be there ... for the entire day." He smiled his approval as we finished our lunch.
Chapter 5 part 2: "My Sunday on the Hot Seat"
The next Sunday was the all to important family day with the Hampton family and I was nervous to say the least. I had only met his baby sister and not to many others out side of her. I didn't want to be late getting from my townhouse and over to his place so I just ended up spending the night with him. He was I have to say a perfect gentlemen once again. Doug only grinded into me a few times that night as we slumbered away while he held me. He only had on a pair of these sexy skimpy underwear that he wears and I like so much. With each grind he only confirmed my thoughts that this nigga is hung like a damn horse and that's a fact jack. However, nothing happen past that and we both wake very rested and ready to get the day going. He got up both showered in different bathrooms, and got dressed for church. When we were both sharp as a TAC we jumped in his 2002 BMW x5 and headed over to his mothers church so that we would be on time. He explained to me how mama didn't play when it came to family day and being on time. When we arrived at the church he ushered both of us into the church with his hand on the small of my back while going to his special family row. When we got to the row his baby sister was already there and sending a message with her two way, and two of his brothers and there families were there also. At the very moment I say his two oldest brothers I knew that good looks ran in his family cause both of them negro's were phine. Doug shared in warm moments of family love with his brothers and sister and then he introduced me to them. I have to admit I was very nervous about meeting his family especially his brothers, but they were all very nice and made me feel at home. When I meet Mattie Stocks Hampton it was love at first site. She was just so warm and friendly in her 5 foot 6 inch frame and her stylish up today hair style; and, I knew that I would be just fine when she mentioned to me that if any of her children gave me any problems, including Douglass, to just let her know and she would handle the issue. We had a wonderful day starting with a wonderful church service. Then we followed service with dinner at his mother's home. We blessed: fried chicken, fresh fried fish, fried corn, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, and a host of other dishes, desserts and breads and then the eating started. Doug and I sat next to each other and one of his brothers, who I could feel was a little uncomfortable with me being there sat across from us. He was the baby boy under Doug and had just finished Law School a few months before. I sat and listened to his family tell a number of stories, talk about each other as children, and converse with the children who mother, as she insisted that I call her, insisted set with the rest of the family. This woman had a very large very beautiful home that the children purchased for her after their father passed, and she was surrounded by love and the spirit at this very moment in time. After dinner while the children played in the yard and mother watched them. The women sat in the dinning area and talked and the fellows watched the Titans beat up on the packers I went out on the patio to swing. After a few moments of watching the children with their grandmother the door opened and out walked the man of my dreams looking so handsome and classy in his black FUBU jeans, white oxford that he had open at the time exposing all his sexiness. He sat next to me on the swing and looked over smiling at me while he took my hand. He looked into my eyes for a few moments while he thought of what he might say and then he thanked me for coming and making him the happiest man alive on that day. I smiled and told him that it was my pleasure to be able to share with his family and if he would have me and they would have me around that I would be back for more. He smiled that wonderful smile of his and said, "Oh I'm going to have you and they are going to have you as well... but not in the way I'm going to have you." We both smiled and right there in front of his mother he planted the sweetest kiss on me that made me feel secure that he and I had a place together in each others hearts.
