As an aside note....I wanted to thank all the people that have written me on this and my other BSB and NSYNC series as well as the Brian's Lost Love Short Story. Chipdyp, StoryWrightr, GADawg4242, Jeff Kaiser (who's Twist of Fate story I LOVE), Matt (of "Search and Rescue" fame...another story I love), and ShadowMage7. Also BIG thanks to all the guys and gals in the NSYNC chat rooms and chat lobby that read my stories and constantly inquire of my progress, Karen, Dopie, justme, jc_1s_hott, 1am_here, sleepy, and everybody else I missed. Thank you so much!!!!
Bill began to play and sing, his tenor voice cutting through the silence like a knife.
"In my mind I'm goin' to Carolina, can't you see the sunshine, can't you just feel the moonshine. Ain't it just like a friend of mine, to hit me from behind. Yes I'm goin' to Carolina in my mind"
As Bill sang the final words and strummed the last chords on the guitar a large applause rang out. Startled, Bill looked up and realized that people had begun to fill the seats. Bill looked over to see Kathy and the guys staring in awe at him as the crowd applauded ever louder. Bill smiled and waved and then walked off the stage.
Chapter 8 Begins Now.....
"Wow Bill! I didn't know you could still play so well. That was amazing!", Kathy said, nodding her head.
"Yeah. You sing so beautifully too! You have a really nice singing voice.", Brian smiled.
"Well...I dunno about that. I'll leave the singing to y'all....sorry to mess up your sound check.", Bill said apologetically.
As Bill walked over to the group, Kevin smiled and came around and put his hand on Bill's shoulder and gave an affectionate squeeze. Bill looked at Kevin and smiled sheepishly.
"Let's go stretch and warm up in the dressing room", Nick said, walking over and grabbing Bill's hand, "that way Bill can give a quick check to my bandages."
"Oh....I'm so sorry Nick!", Bill said, shaking his head, "I completely forgot to do that earlier."
Nick smiled and shrugged, "Now's as good a time as any!"
Nick led Bill and the other guys into the dressing room and Bill helped disconnect Nick from his headset and microphone. Nick gingerly pulled off his shirt and t-shirt and Bill pulled off the bandages and cleaned the wounds with some peroxide before applying some antibiotic ointment to each one and then covering them with some new bandages.
Kathy came over and looked at Bill's handiwork and smiled, looking at Bill and Nick.
"Good Job, Billy! That degree does come in useful sometimes, huh?", Kathy grinned. "Yeah. I can bandage wounds and give back massages.", Bill smiled back at his sister.
Patting Nick on the back, he smiled and told him he was ready. Nick smiled and pulled down his shirt as Brian came over and helped to re-connect his mic pack.
"You should be good to go, Nick. Your wounds are doin' really, really well. I only had to re-bandage one or two of the deeper ones. The others should be ok without any bandages from now on. You'll be all healed up in a day or two." "Wow. Thanks Bill", Nick smiled, as he finished re-dressing. "I was afraid I was gonna have to kidnap you and drag you to our next concert venue so that you could keep patching me up."
"You'll be back to normal by the end of the week.", Bill smiled. "I think Brian can take over for me after tomorrow night."
Brian smiled and then frowned.
"You're flying back to NC tomorrow night?, Brian frowned.
"No.....I fly back to NC on Tuesday. You all fly out to your next venue tomorrow night after the show.", Bill stated.
"Oh....cool!", Brian smiled, "I thought you might not be here for tomorrow's concert."
"I don't know if I will be "here" tomorrow. Technically...", Bill smiled, "I only have tickets for tonight's performance."
"Oh", Brian shrugged, "I think Kevin and I can smuggle you and Kathy in for tomorrow's show."
"Thanks guys!", Bill said as Howie hugged Kathy.
"So.....Bill", Kevin smiled, "Why didn't you tell us you could play and sing so well?"
"It was a fluke", Bill smiled, "I normally suck. The planets must have been in some strange alignment to make me sound even remotely good."
Kathy and the guys stood silent for a second before bursting out laughing at Bill's response.
"That's not true. You always sang beautifully.", Kathy praised, "I am amazed that you still remember the guitar as well as you do....you haven't played it in years! I know I can't remember any of the clarinet I played."
"Yeah, well, I guess its like riding a horse....Once you learn..", Bill said smiling.
"Yeah....I guess I should go see if I can still play my clarinet.", Kathy laughed.
"Wow!", Nick said, "You must have a musical family."
"Sorta", Kathy smiled, "We all had to learn an instrument when we grew up. Dee, our eldest sister, can play flute very well. I can play clarinet, and Shelly can play trombone."
"And I got out of band practice by taking guitar lessons....at least I took them until my teacher got pregnant and moved away.", Bill grinned.
"You have three sisters, Bill?", Brian laughed, "that must have sucked."
"No....I was spoiled a little being the only boy.", Bill grinned, "The only time it sucked is when my mom decided to perm my hair to see what it looked like. That was awful! I had an blond afro for months till it grew out enough and I got it cut off."
Bill looked up to see Kevin and the guys laughing so hard they could barely breathe and Kathy grinning and chuckling over the memory.
"I seem to recall...", Kathy grinned evilly, "...having a picture of you with that hair at easter, holding mom's easter egg basket in the old living room."
"I seem to recall a certain audio tape I have....", Bill began as Kathy flushed white, "...of a certain after party toilet worshipping episode of someone female in this room....do I need to go on or have we embarrassed each other enough?"
The guys looked at the two siblings and began to laugh harder.
"You two are definitely related. I can see how you two would really fight when you were younger.", Brian laughed.
"No....Kathy and I never really fought much. Shelly and I, tho, ewwww....boy did we ever fight! Gads....the stories we could tell about those."
Kathy laughed and said, "Oh yeah...the famous christmas soda fight incident."
"What?", Kevin laughed, "What happened?"
"Nevermind!!!", Bill laughed. "I think we have bared our family secrets enough. I wanna hear some dirt on Kevin. Brian....you're his cousin....you gotta have something on him."
"Well yeah", Brian began and then was cut off by Kevin's icy stare, "but, I think If I wanna see tomorrow, I'd better not even go there."
Bill laughed and looked over at Kevin who had blushed a deep red.
"But I think I am gonna have to hear about it sometime if it makes him blush like that.", Bill chuckled.
Bill got up and walked over to Kevin and put his arm around his shoulders and hugged him.
"OK fellows. Kathy and I are gonna shut up here and let you all stretch like you were supposed to be doing.", Bill stated, walking over to the sofa where Kathy was sitting and sitting down beside her.
The guys went through their stretching routines and had just finished as a knock on the door announced the arrival of the tour manager.
"Hey guys! You all ready to go?!?", the tour manager nodded, then looked over and saw Kathy and Bill sitting on the sofa.
"Hey you two! How do you like the concert so far?", the manager smiled.
"It's been pretty fun so far. I've only managed to embarrass myself once.", Bill grinned.
"When was that?", the manager asked nervously, "You did fine at the press conference!"
"No", Bill smiled, "I got caught singing out on stage a little while ago. I was SO embarrassed!"
"Oh!", the manager said shocked, "I heard about that but didn't know it was you. No worries, tho, I heard you were awesome. The press guys I was just talking to thought you were a warm up act."
"Thanks, tho I'll never go on stage again unless I know all the doors are locked.", Bill laughed.
"So....", the tour manager asked, "Are you ready to go on?"
"Yep! Guys are you ready?", Brian said as the other guys came over and they formed a circle and bent their heads in prayer.
Kathy and Bill watched as the guys said a quick prayer and then began to head for the door. The tour manager escorted Bill and Kathy back to the door and out to their seats.
Kathy and Bill had just gotten settled when the lights darkened and the crowd began to roar in applause. The music to Larger than Life began as the guys ascended from beneath the stage.
The songs kept coming and Bill and Kathy had a blast watching the guys perform. Both Bill and Kathy smiled widely when Kevin or Howie would look over at them.
At the end of the last song, the tour manager appeared as if on cue and tapped Bill on the shoulder.
"Ready to go backstage?", the tour manager asked.
Bill and Kathy nodded and followed closely as they pushed towards the entrance to the dressing areas.
Kevin and the guys were all sitting on the sofas when the tour manager knocked on and opened the dressing room door. Kevin looked over at Bill and flashed a huge smile at him.
"What did ya think?", Kevin asked.
"You were all awesome. You all sound as good live as you do on your album. I only counted maybe a dozen or so places where you sang off key, Kevin.", Bill said as he looked over at Kevin in mock seriousness.
Brian, Nick, Howie and AJ all burst into laughter at the shocked expression on Kevin's face.
"A dozen or so places??", Kevin said finally, the look of shock fading to amusement, "you would have noticed, wouldn't you....ya jerk!"
"Well, its not as easy to notice as when Brian or Nick are offkey, cause they have more lead vocals....", Bill grinned as Brian and Nick grabbed a bottle of water and walked over together surrounding Bill.
"Now....", Brian smiled evilly holding the water bottle over Bill's head as Nick grabbed Bill's arms from behind and held him in place, "you aren't gonna tell me I was off, now were you?"
"Did I say that?", Bill grinned, squinting as a drop of water from the bottle hit him on the face.
"No...I didn't think so.", Brian laughed and dumped the rest of the bottle over Bill's head before Nick left go of his arms.
Bill stood still as the water dripping off of his head, down his neck and onto his shirt and pants. Kathy gasped as Bill stared at the two perpetrators for a few seconds more before slowly breaking out into a smile, a very tight, very evil smile. Kevin grabbed a towel and walked over and put it around Bill's neck where the water continued to drip.
"Are you OK, Bill.....you look really pissed off!", Kevin asked nervously.
"Fine...Kevin....just fine.", Bill replied sweetly, too sweetly.
"Guys....", Kevin looked up quickly, "You better apologize now. He's really mad...I think you went too far!"
Brian and Nick pouted, their heads hung low as they came up to Bill.
"Sorry man", Brian began sheepishly. "Yeah...we were just kidding!", Nick continued.
"No problem guys, go hit the showers so we can get out of here and back to the hotel. I am bushed.....and wet....and hungry!", Bill smiled and then walked over to the sofa and sat down. Kathy got up and walked over to Howie and gave him a hug and a kiss.
"I gotta go guys. I'll see you tomorrow. I'll be back in the morning for breakfast.", Kathy explained as she and Howie walked over to the door. Howie walked Kathy outside and shut the door. The guys focus remained at the door for a second before moving over to Bill who sat on the sofa drying his hair with the towel.
"Wow!", AJ exclaimed, "That was nice. Howie and Kathy seem to be hitting it off really well."
"Yeah", Bill said quietly, "I am so glad for her. She had the worst time with her last boyfriend. He treated her very badly. But....he got what he deserved."
"Oh", Nick replied curiously, "What'd he get?"
"A few friends of mine taught him a valuable lesson in Kharma.", Bill smiled viciously, "I called him up and met him out for a few beers on night then some friends of mine meet up with me. We took him home that night and did a number on him. He probably still can't sit down comfortably. Best of all....I have it all on video and he has a copy too!"
Brian and Kevin gasped as AJ and Nick chuckled.
"I don't take well to people messing with my family. He fucked with her, so I fucked him up.", Bill said in a low intense voice, "I did the same to her first boyfriend who put the girl's number that he was cheating on her with on her speed dial list on her phone. He and I had a nice little talk as I held him suspended about a foot and a half in the air."
"Wow!", Kevin smiled, "You really are protective of your sisters."
"Yep", Bill said, "My sisters, my parents and my friends....nobody better mess with them!"
The door opened and Howie came back in, smiling from ear to ear. Bill looked over and smiled at Howie.
"So.", Bill grinned, "What did ya think of Kathy?"
"Oh wow!", Howie walked over to Bill and hugged him, "She's awesome. I owe you one. I really really like her a lot!"
"Good!", Bill said happily, "You two seem to fit together pretty well."
"Yeah, Howie", AJ laughed and pointed at Bill, "Just don't break her heart, or he'll bust your ass!"
"I heard.", Howie grinned ruefully, "I heard you are real protective of your sisters. Kathy told me about how you held Ed up by his throat."
Bill grinned and nodded. "Well you guys....go hit the showers...I wanna get back to the hotel and eat."
The guys agreed and began to hit the showers.
About a half an hour later, Kevin and AJ and Howie are putting on the last of their clothes.
"Where are Nick and Brian?", Bill asked impatiently.
"Probably making out in the shower again.", AJ sighed, "I wish those two would get a room."
Bill smiled and grabbed two pitchers of ice water and walked over to the shower room. Bill entered quietly and could hear some muffled moaning in addition to the water running from the showers. Bill snuck over to where the noise was coming from and saw Nick kneeling before Brian sucking his hard cock. From the moaning Brian was making, he was close to cumming. Bill hefted one of the large pitchers of ice water in the direction of Brian's waist (and Nick's head) just as Brian began to moan again.
As the ice water hit Brian's chest and stomach he yelled loudly, pushing Nick back, spraying his face with cum. Bill hefted the other pitcher of ice water in the direction of Nick's back and ass. As that water hit Nick screamed and jumped up, turning around quickly, seeing Bill standing there smiling, holding the two pitchers.
"What the hell...BILL!!", Nick yelled.
"Sorry boys....I had to come in and cool you off. We're all ready to go eat.", Bill grinned as Nick and Brian grabbed their towels and wrapped them around their waists. "Oh...by the way...consider that payback for the water bottle over the head."
Bill turned around and chuckled evilly as he walked back over to the dressing room.
That's all for now. Sorry for all the delays getting this one out. I went from the 98 Degrees Concert in Hampton, VA to the UNC Hospital when my gall bladder got infected and swollen and filled with HUGE gall stones. So...after a week in the hospital, I am now gall bladder-less and will be recovering for the next week at home. Hopefully I will be able to write a lot more on these stories and get more posted and ready to post. Time Out with the Backstreet Boys By Billy Burrew
