Chapter 8

Twenty minutes later, Kolby was softly breathing, Timothée staring down at his beautiful sleeping face.

"He'll sleep for a bit. He needed a rest." Nancy smiled, Timothée nodding.

"Let's go into the kitchen and talk quietly. There's more you need to know." she said, her face showing compassion.

Timothée gently raised Kolby's head, slipping out from underneath him, gently placing a cushion under his head, the young man softly murmuring as if he sensed Timothée's leaving him, but he didn't wake up.

Timothée picked up his glass, leaving Kolby's, Nancy getting up as well, the two walking into the kitchen, sitting down at the table.

She quietly watched Timothée stare at his glass, sensing the man's hidden emotions, emotions he'd kept hidden from Kolby.

"Tell me what you feel, Timothée." she said, Timothée staring at her, his emotions letting go.

She put her arm around him as he began to cry.

"How could he do that?! To such a loving child, to his own child! How could someone be that cruel! He tried to kill him!" he cried softly, Nancy rubbing his back.

"He was a monster, as Kolby said. A terrible monster." she said, Timothée nodding.

"What happened to Kolby after?" he said, wiping his eyes, wanting to know, sensing he needed to know.

"They brought him into the ambulatory unit, I was there that night.  I saw the devastation that the bastard had done to that young man. They worked on him all night, cleaning his wounds, amputating his hacked leg. They operated on his throat, cleaning the damage from the bleach. I was so moved by the tragedy that befell that young man. He looked so lost, so alone. I visited him every day, several times a day. Something drew me to him. After two days he opened his eyes and cried for hours. I held his hand through most of it. I became so enwrapped in my need to help him. The hospital and police informed me about what had been done to him, the hate and pain he'd endured. And he himself told me why, the truth of what had happened. Why his father hated him so much. How could anyone hate that giving, loving young man?" she said, Timothée quietly listening.

"They couldn't find any family who would help him after. Those they did find shunned him because he was gay. Uncles, aunts and cousins on his father's side disowned him. None of his mother's family could be found.  He was so alone. While that was going on, Kolby and I bonded. He came to look forward to my daily visits. The staff said I had a calming effect on him. Through the hospital's aid, and with my own barrister's help, I decided to become his legal guardian. He was still a child in regard to the legal system. His warm soul entered my heart. I had to be there for him. I've been there ever since."

Timothée softly smiled, sensing she'd fallen in love with him like a son.

"After months of medical procedures, therapy sessions, and physio he came home with me. The first few months were hard, many nights of me holding him, nightmares coming often, he relived it again and again. A young man of resolve and courage sprang out through all that pain. His voice had been affected by the bleach; it would never reach full volume. But when he sings the octaves can reach higher chords. I convinced him eventually to join the local church's choir. He's come to love singing again. But he decided long ago to bury his past from everyone. He came up with the accident idea to explain things. I don't fault him for that. He wanted to move on from his pain. But pain buried can't remain hidden. You today drew that pain to the surface again. I truly believe he needed to open up to you, to be totally honest with you. You've now seen the scared, hurt individual hiding behind the mask of resolve he wears. Does this change how you feel about him?" she said, staring into the younger man's green pools.

Timothée lowered his eyes for a moment, then met hers again.

"It does change how I feel about him." he said, Nancy nodding, lowering her eyes, Timothée taking her hand in his.

"Before today I saw a young man of classical beauty, with a caring heart, and an honest soul. I was so enamored of everything he was. Of all I'd learned about him. And now, today, I've learned so much more. I've learned of his true self. Of a young man who was brutally hurt, savagely beaten down. Who, after that, found a true friend in his Momma Bear." he smiled, Nancy smiling.

"You love him deeply, don't you?" he said, Nancy nodding.

"He's like the son I never had. His loving soul drew me to him. I'll always try to protect him."

Timothée nodded, leaning closer, kissing her cheek.

"So will I, Momma Bear. This does change how I feel about him. I now want to make sure he never hurts like that again. I want to heal the hurt within him. I'll spend the rest of my life trying to do that. If only friendship comes out of this, he'll have my close friendship for the rest of his life."

Nancy was in tears, hugging Timothée close.

"Oh, Timothée! I was so afraid this would change your opinion of him."

"It doesn't. It only strengthens my need to be with him more."

"Really, Timbo?"

Timothée and Nancy turned, Kolby standing in the doorway, his glass of iced tea in his hand, half drunk.

Timothée rose to his feet, walking up to him, his hand going to his shoulder.

Kolby stared into his green pools, seeing soft moisture there.

"You've been crying again."

"Yes, I have. I broke down thinking of all that happened to you."

"You were thinking I'm a basket case, so many secrets hidden. That I wasn't honest with you." Kolby said, lowering his eyes again.

Timothée moved his hand from his shoulder, wrapping his arm around him, pulling him close.

"I `d never believe that. You're a young man who's gone through great pain. It's only made you stronger, more loving, kind and honest. You just wanted to forget that past. Thank you for telling me all of it. That shows me how honest you want to be with me. And I'm going to be totally honest with you." he said, staring into Kolby's green pools.

Timothée handed Nancy Kolby's iced tea, she setting it on the table, Timothée's hands joining with his.

"I thought at first, I just wanted your friendship. And yesterday I realized I wanted more. And now after this morning I want even more. I want the romance that's been denied me my whole life. I'm falling for you, Kolby. Today changes nothing for me. It only makes me want to protect you, be there for you. And perhaps one day say that I love you."

Kolby's eyes widened in surprise.

"You think you might...you might want that?" he softly said, Timothée smiling at him.

"Yes, Kolby. I can't promise you when or if that will happen, but always know, you'll never lose my friendship. Perhaps we'll both gain more."

Kolby teared up, Timothée leaning forward, their lips meeting, both lost in a newness flowing through them.

They parted, Nancy wiping tears from her eyes.

"Wow. Me falling for an elephant!" Kolby smiled, Timothée slapping his ass.

"It's your Timbo, not your Dumbo." Timothée smirked, Kolby chuckling.

"Close enough."

 Timothée smiled, looking at Nancy.

"I think you're going to get sick of me hanging out around here, Momma Bear." he grinned, Nancy rising to her feet, wrapping her arms around both.

"Welcome to the family, Timothée. I now have two special sons." she smiled, kissing each on the cheek.

Kolby looked at her, Timothée kissing his cheek.

"Nancy told me about what happened after your tragedy. About her becoming your guardian." he said, Kolby nodding.

"That guardianship ended after he turned eighteen." she smiled.

Kolby smiled, kissing her cheek.

"But the mothering never did, Momma Bear." he smiled, Nancy smiling widely.

"You two hooligans go relax; I'll get started on lunch." she said, slapping each on the rear.

They both laughed, walking out of the kitchen, walking down to Kolby's bedroom.

Kolby smiled, walking into the room, seeing the bed made, Timothée's open empty suitcases on top of it.

"Someone's made themselves at home." he said, walking over to his wardrobe, seeing Timothée's clothes hanging beside his.

Timothée smiled, his arm going around him.

"I hope we can call this our bedroom now?" he smiled, Kolby beaming.

"Me shacked up with Timothée Chalamet! If the paparazzi only knew!" he grinned, Timothée blushing.

"It's okay, Timbo. I totally understand your situation. I would never do anything to out you."

Timothée smiling, kissing his cheek.

"I know, Kolby. I'm not worried about that. It's the "in" part that worries me." he smiled, Kolby looking confused.

"You know, you in me." he grinned, Kolby blushing.

"You're such a perv. What makes you think I want to touch that pasty white ass of yours?" he grinned back, Timothée laughing, Kolby joining him, both softly blushing at the same time.

"Oh, it's not pasty white. I wear thongs on California beaches." Timothée smirked, walking over to the bed, removing his suitcases and putting them by the wardrobe.

Kolby smiled, sensing Timothée was an organized dynamo like himself.
Everything had to be in its proper place.

Kolby sat down on the bed's front edge, Timothée joining him, his arm going around him.

"How are you really doing, Kobe?" he said, kissing his cheek with tenderness.

"I'm surprisingly calm after all that. Yes, it was emotional walking through it again, but it's the past. I can't change it. I must just go forward. I'm happy that you're going to walk with me. Don't know how far, but I'm convinced we'll never lose our friendship."

Timothée smiled, agreeing.

The two sat together, just being together.

After a few minutes, Kolby saw Timothée looking deep in thought.

"Everything okay?"

He looked at Kolby, seeing he was calm, deciding to broach one part of that story that wasn't spoken of.

"Can I ask you a question?"

"Of course, Timbo. I'll always try to be honest with you."

Timothée smiled, knowing he always would now.

"That young man, Ryan Hargrave. The one you'd fallen in love with. What happened to him?"

Kolby sighed, looking into Timothée's green eyes.

"He visited me in the hospital only once. About a month after I was there." he said, the young man rising to his feet, walking over to the window, Timothée quietly staring at him.

Kolby looked out at the snow-covered streets, the sun shining brightly.

"He came that day to say goodbye. He told me–lying in my hospital bed–that he couldn't love a cripple. That he needed a whole man. That I wasn't attractive to him anymore. That he'd found someone else. Someone whole." Kolby said, lowering his eyes.

Timothée rose from his seat, walking up to the young man, his arms going around him from behind, Kolby turning in his arms, laying his head on his chest.

"I lost everything. My family and the young man who I thought loved me. No one cared." he softly said, Timothée hugging him closely.

"You haven't lost everything, Kobe. You gained even more. Your Momma Bear, and now me." he said, Kolby raising his head, their eyes meeting.

"That's the one thing that totally surprised me about you, Timothée. You didn't turn away from me when you saw my injuries. My stumps and my timid voice. Ryan didn't want to deal with any of that. I don't think he ever really loved me. He was just going with me for the sex, the experience. When he heard I wasn't whole anymore, he dumped me like trash." he softly said.

"Then he was a moron. A selfish idiot. I see your injuries as a testament to your surviving. And to be honest, I find them very beautiful. It's like you're this special being, created only for my loving gaze." he said, Kolby seeing total honesty on his handsome face.

"Someone's got a stump fetish." he grinned, Timothée blushing.

"I've got a third one that grows." Kolby winked, Timothée blushing more.

"You're twisted."

"Oh, I can twist it." Kolby smirked.

Timothée laughed, Kolby joining him, the two staying close.

"Thanks, Timothée. Those were beautiful words you said. You make me feel special also. And I still haven't had that floor show."

Timothée giggled, slapping his butt.

"Later, beautiful. And I did pack my sexy black thong." he winked, Kolby blushing now.

"Lucky me." Kolby smiled, Timothée smiling back.

He leaned in, the two kissing lightly.

Timothée pulled back, smiling more.

"I'm beginning to love kissing you. Your lips are so tender and soft. Nothing like I expected." he smiled, Kolby nodding.

"Ditto, sexy."

Timothée smiled, leaning forward again, his lips gently kissing the spot on his chest where his shirt was open.

"Your skin's so tasty too." he said, kissing his neck, then his chin, then his cheek, and then his nose.

"Ok, calm down, perv. My third stump is rising." Kolby laughed, Timothée backing up, blushing.

"Sorry, I couldn't stop sampling you." he blushed more, his eyes glancing downward, seeing a tent showing in Kolby's corduroys.

"I'll let you continue that journey later, if you want. You have a certain effect on me." he smiled, Timothée nodding.

"I know you can accept that I need to take this slow. I want to explore everything, including...well you know." he softly said, Kolby nodding.

"I know, Timbo. We'll walk that path as slow as you want to. Remember, I'm okay with anything you want to do. I won't deflower you so quickly. I want to savor you."

Timothée blushed, his heart growing for this wonderful young man.

"But no chocolate covered stuff, Wonka."
Timothée laughed loudly, the two hugging tightly, he slapped Kolby's ass again.

"You like my butt, don't you?" he smiled, Timothée smiling.

"I like all of you. Stumps notwithstanding."

Kolby laughed, Timothée happy he was happy.

"Let's go see what Momma Bear's made for lunch." Timothée smiled, the two joining hands, walking out of the bedroom.

They had an enjoyable lunch, having tacos, Nancy smiling at Kolby's returned happiness.

She sensed the young man seated with him was bringing out that happiness.

After lunch the two sat in the living room, snuggled together, talking together.

"So, what have you two got planned for the day?" Nancy smiled, a novel laying in her lap.

"Maybe we could all do something together? Cards or a game?" Kolby said, Nancy smiling at him.

"I'm relaxing today, I now don't work until Monday evening. This book and I are getting acquainted. I think the two of you should spend some time together, getting to know each other." she smiled, Timothée smiling at her.

"Excellent idea, Nancy. I'd love to see some of the local sites. And I'm going to church tomorrow with both of you. I want to see my angel sing." he smiled, Kolby blushing.

"You have a solo tomorrow, right Kobe?" Nancy said, Kolby nodding.

"Yes, right after the blessing." he smiled, Timothée snuggling against him.

"How about we take a nice walk around? It's sunny and crisp out." he smiled, Kolby agreeing.

The two got up, kissing Nancy's cheek, walking to the front vestibule, putting on their boots and coats.

"Maybe after we can have dinner at the restaurant?" Timothée said, Kolby smiling.

"I'll text Stephan and ask him to hang around. He finishes at five."

Timothée's arms went around Kolby's jacketed form.

"Maybe you need to be honest with him about your past as well. He cares deeply for you. He calls you his best friend."
Kolby smiled, thinking about their friendship.

"Yes, he is my best friend." he nodded, Timothée smiling.

"I'm okay if you want to tell him about us."

"Really?"

"Yes, I trust him and Olivia. I think they'll be great friends." he smiled, Kolby smiling more.

"We'll play it by ear. I want you to feel comfortable around them. This is all new to you. You don't have to do anything you don't want to. I'll leave that up to you. It's your life."

Timothée smiled, kissing him lightly on the lips.

"Thanks, Kobe. You make me smile."

Kolby beamed, the two walking out of the flat, after saying goodbye to Nancy.

They spent the afternoon walking around, enjoying the local sites, Kolby showing him all his local hangouts.

They had a coffee in a small cafe by the river, walking around and just enjoying each other's company.

Timothée had taken photos with his phone often, a lot of them centering around the young man smiling at him.

He saw the joy in Kolby's face at their being together, a few selfies of that taken, the two cuddled together in quiet moments alone.

At five they walked into the Red Lion, a smiling Stephan greeting them, Kolby hugging him.

"Got demoted already? Sorry, that job is mine. And you have a new haircut to boot!" Kolby grinned, ruffling Stephan's hair, the man swatting his hand away.

Timothée chuckled, Stephan smirking.

"I'm just covering for Robert, he's on his meal break. He'll be back shortly. Then I'm free and clear. Yeah, I needed to look more mature. Olivia cut it last night. I reserved the central booth for you and Timothée. I'll join you presently." he smiled, Timothée hugging him now, running his hands through his hair as well, getting the same swat, Kolby laughing.

"Great, I'm famished! Kolby's been chasing me around all over town. My feet are sore." he grinned, Stephan smiling.

"Well looks like he finally bagged you. You and your prey can go to your table." Stephan smirked, the other two young men blushing, looking at each other.
"Come on, Tim. I'm tired of talking to the help." Kolby smirked, Stephan slapping his ass hard.

"Enjoy your meal, Lord Wentworth. Please take kindly to us lowly serfs."

Kolby and Timothée both laughed, walking over to the booths.

Stephan's eyes took in their hands, both brushing against each other.

Stephan's eyes followed them, his thoughts his own.

Stephan sat down beside Kolby, Timothée seated across from them, the two young men having been talking quietly, sipping their drinks before dinner.

They'd stopped when Stephan had walked up, the two smiling at him.

"I've ordered a scotch. The day was long and intense. I never knew there was so much work managing this place." he smiled, Kolby smiling at him, patting his shoulder.

"But you love it. I can see it in your eyes."

Stephan smiled, nodding.

"I do love it. It's so invigorating. I'm so looking forward to this."

Evan walked up to the table, smiling at Kolby, placing Stephan's drink down.

Timothée took in Evan's eyes scanning over Kolby, his own darkening.

"Your Glenfiddich, sir." he smiled at Stephan, still looking at Kolby.

"Thanks, Evan. We'll order now." Stephan smiled, the waiter taking their orders, Timothée handing him his menu, the young man smiling more at him now.

"Thank you, Mr. Chalamet. It's a great pleasure having you dine with us again. Please don't hesitate to ask me for anything." he smiled, gazing at him.

"Right now, we'd just like privacy. Friends chatting in private." Timothée said, the waiter lowering his smile a bit.
"Certainly, sir. I'll make myself scarce." he said, walking away from their table.

Kolby took in this exchange, the young man quietly chatting with Stephan, the manager taking in the exchange as well.

"So, what did you two do today? How do you like Kolby's digs, Timothée?" he smiled, Timothée smiling at him.

"Just call me Tim, Stephan. We're friends now." he smiled, Stephan nodding.

"Thanks, Tim.  Wow, I'm friends with a movie star!" he grinned, Kolby laughing.

"I'm just a normal guy, I like normal things. The star side is just my career. That doesn't define me." Timothée smiled, Stephan nodding.

"To answer your question, Kolby and I just walked around taking in the sites. And his flat is cozy and welcoming. Nancy's a real treasure." he smiled, Stephan agreeing.

`Nothing else happened?" he said, Timothée and Kolby exchanging looks.

"Stephan, I need to talk to you. But we need to talk alone. This is too open for anything like this. Would you walk back with us after dinner to my place? We have a lot to talk about." Kolby said, Stephan seeing a worried look across his handsome, youthful face.

"Is everything okay, Kobe?" he said, concern now showing on his face, Kolby patting his shoulder.

"Everything's fine. More than fine, actually. We just need to catch you up on a few things." Timothée said, Stephan nodding, wondering why Timothée was answering for his friend.

"Alright, Kolby. I'm always here for you." he said, Kolby smiling.

"I know, Steph. You're my best friend." he said, Stephan smiling now.

Timothée smiled, seeing their close friendship.

The three chatting about less serious things, Evan bringing them their meals, quietly walking away.

"The boy's still smitten with you, Kobe. And I saw him flirting with Tim. Do I need to talk to him?" Stephan said, watching the handsome young lad walk over to another table.

"No, it's alright, Steph. And I'm in no way interested in anything he has to offer, other than his friendship. We're co-workers, nothing more. I'll always be professional at work. I'll make sure he is too." Kolby said, Stephan nodding at him with a smile, the three eating their meals.

"Speaking of young men, Harry Styles was in at lunchtime, looking for you, Kobe." Stephan said, seeing a look cross Timothée's face.

"Harry was here? Why?" he said, Kolby looking at him.

"He said he wanted to apologize to you, Kolby. He was alone. He didn't stay to eat once he found out you weren't in. He asked me for your home address. I refused to give him that. I will always protect my staff's privacy."

"Well at least he wanted to apologize." Kolby softly said, Timothée staring at him.

"I don't know if it was sincere or not. He was talking to Evan when I noticed him. He seemed more focused on something else. He asked me if you and Timothée were spending time together. I refused to give him any information. He wasn't too happy when he left." Stephan said, taking a sip of his whiskey.

"I had informed Harry on Kolby's return to work. That's how he knew he'd be here. He just didn't know he wasn't working today." Timothée said, Stephan nodding.

"Makes sense. I assumed you told him to apologize?"
"Yes, I did. But I'm surprised he attempted to. We had a bit of a row about it yesterday. We're not friends anymore, even though we weren't that close to begin with." Timothée said, Stephan nodding.
"I'm sorry to hear that, Tim. He does seem a bit arrogant to me. You deserve better friends than him." he smiled, Timothée smiling at him.

"Yes, I do."

Kolby remained silent, he and Timothée trading looks.

The three dined, chatting about other things, the meal quietly slipping by.

Kolby insisted on paying for dinner; light fighting going on between him, Stephan and Timothée, both men finally conceding, promises of future meal treats decided.

Evan said good night to all three, his eyes flirting with Timothée more now than Kolby, the young man shaking his head, Stephan smirking, the three walking out of the restaurant.

The three walked back to Kolby's flat, laughter and camaraderie growing between the three.

Kolby even upset Stephan into a snowbank, the young man chasing him into another one, Timothée laughing at both.

They were all laughing as they walked into the flat, Nancy greeting them as she walked out of the kitchen, hugging Stephan tightly.

"Well look what the cat dragged in! And it's caught a little mousy!" she chuckled, Stephan laughing, kissing her cheek.

"Thanks, Momma Bear! It's the new hairdo, that your weird friend got wet, tossing me into a snowbank!" he grinned, Kolby laughing.

"Had to cool him down. He was on an Olivia tangent." he laughed, Stephan discreetly raising a finger.

"Who'd like a coffee?" she smiled, all three accepting her offer, the three sitting down in the living room.

Timothée sat in the wing chair, Stephan and Kolby sitting on the sofa, Kolby close to Timothée.

Nancy walked back in with a tray, three mugs of coffee steaming from it.

"You're not joining us?" Kolby asked Nancy kissing his cheek.

"I was drawing a bath when you three waltzed in. I was just going to soak with my book. Anyone need the washroom before I lock myself in?" she smiled, Stephan nodding, getting up.

Nancy smiled at the remaining two, sitting down where Stephan had sat.

"What's going on? You look a little nervous, Kobe." she said, Kolby smiling at her.

"I'm going to come clean with Stephan about my past life. Timothée showed me that he needs to know. I'm tired of hiding it from everyone."

She patted his knee.

"He deserves that, he's your best friend." she said, Kolby nodding.

Her eyes looked towards Timothée, the young man smiling.

"I've told him it's fine if he informs him about us also. I want Stephan to know what we both mean to each other now."

She smiled, Stephan walking into the room, she rose up.

"Enjoy your chat, my friends. I'll make myself scarce." she smiled, the three smiling at her, Stephan taking his seat again, sipping at his coffee.

"Your special brew. Tasty as ever, Kobe." he smiled, setting his mug down.

"It's the special cream I put in it." he smirked, wiggling his eyebrows.

"Ugh! Something tells me it's a downright nasty cream." he grinned, Kolby laughing.

Timothée smiled, seeing Kolby was relaxed, Stephan's demeanor calming him.

Kolby's eyes met Timothée's, the man smiling at him with friendship and something more.

"We need to talk, Steph." Kolby softly said, Stephan's arm going around his friend.

"If you're going to tell me that you and Timothée have connected, save your words." he smiled, Timothée's eyes widening, Kolby surprised as well.

"How did you....?" Timothée softly said, Stephan smiling at him.

"You don't hide your feelings well, my friend. I've been watching you watching my friend for the past few days. I take it you went with your heart?" he smiled, Timothée blushing, Kolby smiling at him, Timothée's hand joining with his.

`"Kolby and I are developing a new relationship with each other, Steph. This is all new to me, being with another man, and Kolby's accepted my wanting to take this slow. I hope you're okay with that?" Timothée said, staring at Kolby's friend.

Stephan sighed, looking at Timothée, then Kolby.

"I'm a bit miffed that Kolby so easily dumped me for you, pretty stud boy." he smiled, Kolby laughing, tackling his friend, finding his armpits, Stephan roaring with laughter.

Timothée smiled, staring at the two.

"Can anyone get in on this action?" he grinned, diving on top of the two, finding Kolby's armpits.

The young man stopped his assault on his friend, his own laughter filling the room.

Timothée alternated between the two of them, tickling both, both laughing widely.

Timothée gradually stopped, backing off, Kolby and Stephan gasping and laughing, returning to their seats.

"Keep your horny boyfriend off me, Kobe. The man's a perv, just like you. You both can't touch my sexy self!" he smiled, batting his eyelashes, Timothée laughing.

"I'll try to control myself. I don't want Olivia after me. She looks stronger than you." he smiled, Stephan laughing.

"So how did this all happen?" he asked, Timothée nodding at Kolby.

Kolby quickly filled Stephan in on their blossoming friendship, which turned into more that morning.

"I'm happy for you, Kolby. I only ever wanted to see you happy. He's an amazing catch! A freaking airhead movie star! You always had good taste! He looks delicious!" Stephan laughed, Timothée raising a finger.

They all laughed, Kolby taking Timothée's hand in his again.

"I didn't fall for a movie star, Steph. I fell for the real him, the one I see. He says he's attracted to my real self as well." Kolby smiled, Timothée smiling at him.

"We both see the real us. That's all I ever wanted. Someone who sees the real me."

Kolby smiled, leaning over and kissing his lips lightly, backing up.

"The real you is so special."

Stephan smiled, seeing their happiness with each other.

Kolby turned back to his friend, Stephan smiling at him.

Timothée saw Kolby's face get more serious.

"I showed Timothée the real me, Steph. It's time you saw me too."

Stephan's arm went around him again, Timothée seeing their friendship strong.

"I know the real you, Kobe. The honest, kind, gentle, giving you." he said, Kolby lowering his eyes.

"I lied to you, Steph." he softly said, Timothée sensing what he meant.

Stephan looked confused, Kolby staring at him.

"I was never in an accident when I was younger, Steph. I got my injuries from my own father. He tried to kill me."

For over a half hour Kolby went through his past again, revealing to his friend the whole tragic ordeal.

Stephan sat in stunned silence from Kolby's first words, his arm tightening around his friend more as the story unfolded.

The pain Kolby endured, the loss he gained.

His mother was murdered, his father killed by police.

His once boyfriend dumping him because he couldn't accept the newly injured Kolby.

A young man lost to pain and sorrow, finding somehow the courage to go on.

At the end of his story, Stephan had him wrapped in his arms, Kolby crying against him, Stephan's and Timothée's eyes meeting, Timothée beside both, rubbing Kolby's back as Stephan held him.

"Oh, Kolby! The pain you went through, emotionally and physically! You never told me!" Stephan said, his face covered in tears as well, kissing Kolby's forehead, his head against his chest.

"I wasn't strong enough to do it, Steph. I thought... I thought you'd hate me for being so cowardly." Kolby cried, Stephan holding him closer.

"Never, Kobe. None of that was your fault. That bastard! That fucking bastard! He got what he deserved. I only wish it had been more painful for him! You never deserved this. I'm so glad you're alright now! This changes nothing between us. Well, I'm wrong, I think. I think this makes me love you more." he smiled, Timothée smiling at him.

Kolby backed up, Stephan gently releasing him.

"You...you love me?" he softly said, Stephan smiling at him.

"You're my best friend. I think of you as a brother. Of course I love you." he said, wiping Kolby's tearful eyes with his fingers.

Kolby smiled, looking into his blue eyes.

"So, now that you love me, I can get some good groping in?"
Stephan laughed, Timothée chuckling, Kolby smiling.

"Grope away, perv!"

Kolby moved forward, his lips meeting Stephan's, the young man shocked, Timothée bursting into laughter.

Kolby pulled back, smiling.

"Sweet! And so tasty! But why the tongue?" he grinned, Stephan blushing, then laughing.

"Perv, indeed. And I taste Timothée on you." he grinned, Kolby laughing.

"Hence the tent you're showing."

Stephan laughed, Timothée's eyes going to the young man's center, no tent showing.

"Dream on, perv!" Stephan smiled, seeing Timothée checking him out.

Kolby laughed, the three laughing together.
"Thanks for saying those things, Steph. You are my best friend. Thanks for accepting all of me. I love you too." Kolby said, Stephan nodding, hugging him gently again, breaking the hug.

"Always will be, Kobe. I'll let your slutty boyfriend deal with your other needs." he grinned, Timothée giving him the finger again.

All three laughed, sitting down together, sipping coffee, talking about everything.

Timothée smiled, seeing Stephan as a close friend now.

"I'll totally keep your secret, Timothée. I understand how something like this could hurt your career." he said, Timothée nodding, Kolby not looking towards him.

"Nothing Kolby will do would ever hurt my career. If we develop a true loving relationship further down the line, I will eventually want the world to know about it. He's allowing me to go at my own speed, to see where this goes. I'm hoping it goes all the way. I just need to get used to being attracted to another man." he said with honesty, Stephan nodding, Kolby smiling at Timothée.

"Well, you've both nailed the kissing part. How do you like that?" Stephan smiled, Timothée looking at Kolby.

"I like it a lot. He's a damn fine kisser." he said, Kolby beamed.

"Yes, he is. But too much tongue for me!" Stephan said, all three laughing again.

Nancy walked into the room, smiling at all three, wrapped in her robe.

"You all seem happy. I take it Stephan knows our Kolby's true self now?" she smiled, Kolby rising to his feet, hugging her tightly.

"He's still my friend. And he's happy for Timothée and myself. He knows everything." he smiled widely, Stephan smiling at Nancy.

"I'm happy for you, Kolby. He always was your friend; he always will be." she smiled, looking at all three.

"I'm going to call it a night, boys. Are you staying, Steph?" she smiled, Stephan smiling at her.

"Thanks, but Olivia's expecting me soon. We're just going to chill this evening. I'm off tomorrow and we're going down the coast for some alone time. Before I'm back Monday, having to deal with Kolby's shenanigans as usual." he smiled, Kolby tossing a cushion at him.

"And I'm checking you for hickeys first thing." Kolby smiled, Stephan blushing.

"We'll inspect each other, star groupie." he smiled, Timothée laughing.

"Alright then. See you soon. Goodnight, my boys." she said, all three getting up, kissing her cheek, Nancy smiling and walking down the hallway.

Timothée and Kolby walked Stephan to the door, the young man hugging Timothée first, smiling at him.

"You want some tongue too, Chalamet?" he grinned, Kolby laughing.

Timothée smiled, pulling the man into his arms, kissing him deeply, Stephan shocked.
They broke their kiss, Timothée smiling.

"What a small tongue. Are all your appendages so small?" he smirked, Stephan shaking his head, Kolby bending over in laughter.

"Control your boyfriend, Kobe. He wants me as badly as you do!"

Kolby laughed, the young man jumping into his friend's arms, Stephan hugging him tightly.

Timothée watched, seeing an emotion cross Stephan's face.

"I'm so sorry, Kobe! The pain you went through! If I would have been there!" he said, tears beginning to fall.

Kolby backed up, smiling at his friend.
"I know, Steph. You would have saved me. But the past can't change. I'm happy now. With your friendship." he said, Stephan smiling.

"Goodnight, my friend. Goodnight, Tim, my new friend." he said, both young men smiling at him, Stephan put on his coat, smiling and walking out of the flat, Kolby locking the front door.

The two men smiled at each other, Kolby's hand going into Timothée's.

He smiled at him, Kolby leaning in and kissing his lips.

They broke the kiss, Kolby smiling at him, the two walking around and shutting off the lights.

"Floorshow time, sexy!"

Timothée laughed, Kolby pulling him down the hallway towards their bedroom.

End of Chapter 8

And so, Kolby's past now is in the open.

As is his relationship with Timothée, at least with Stephan.

He seems okay with their newfound friendship.

What about Harry?
He seems to be nosing around, trying to fix things.

Or is there more there with him?

Up next, some truths and some romance.

Hugs, Angel.
