Chapter 25 -- Life Is Too Important
This is Tip.
Ty was making me feel bad because of my outburst without meaning to. I pulled Ty onto the bed with me and held him, "Ty, all I'm asking is that we not spend the entire time while we are here, with you talking business. We came here to try to form a special relationship, and I'm beginning to feel like that isn't going to happen as long as your business matters keep popping up."
"Tip, I didn't plan it this way. I had no idea what Neil and Randy were going to drop on me this morning, and I certainly don't understand what I could possibly do for Tom Lansing, since I am not accredited in Colorado. Tip, do you want me to cancel the game and the dinner?"
"Ty, I am sorry to be so green eyed, but please don't let business take over our lives."
Ty fell against me, "Tip, bear with me. Remember I am just learning about what it means to have a meaningful relationship."
I kissed Ty on the cheek, "Tyler Jefferson, you are making it sound like I am an old queer queen."
Ty started to laugh, "You may be a queer, but I know from what happened last night that you sure aren't a queen."
We were both lying there giggling like school girls. I reached out and started to play with the front of Ty's trousers, "I think I'll have me some lunch now."
"How about we both get our lunch at the same time?"
Ty and I shed our clothes and we manipulated our bodies so that the objects of our desires were perfectly positioned to be enveloped in each other's mouth. After we both released the fluid from our sacred sacks, we maneuvered so we could just hold our favorite partner.
We fell asleep. It was almost 12:30 when we were awakened by the phone. Ty picked up the receiver. "This is Ty Jefferson. ^Å Oh hi Randy. ^Å We didn't bring swim suits. ^Å Okay, see you in a couple."
Ty looked at me, "That Randy Smithers. He said that Tom Lansing's son had called and reminded us to bring swim suits. When I told him that we didn't bring swim suits, he said we should bring an extra pair of briefs since it was going to be an all guy party. Now come on, we need to get dressed if we are going to the ball game. We can catch lunch at the stadium."
We quickly dressed and met Neil and Randy in the lobby. The shuttle to Coors Field left exactly at 1:00. We had seats right behind the Rockies dugout. There were only four of us, but the box had seats for 8. We were soon joined by two good looking gentlemen and two teenage boys.
Ty looked up from his program, "Hi, Tom and Jake, I'd like you to meet my brother Tip. Who are these good looking dudes?"
Tom Lansing, as I was to find out, shook my hand. "These are my two sons Lance and Lane Lansing."
Randy spoke up, "Just call them the La La Boys."
One of the twins glared at Randy, "Knock it off Uncle Ra Ra."
After the introductions were made, we were sitting, filling out our scorecards when a young man about twelve came to the box and tapped Ty on the shoulder, "You are Tyler Jefferson, aren't you? May I please have your autograph?"
Ty looked at the young man, "Yep, I'm Ty Jefferson and you may have my autograph if you don't tell anyone else who I am."
The young man handed Ty his program and I handed Ty a pen that I had in my pocket. Ty signed his name and the young man put his arms around Ty's neck, "Thank you sir. I can't wait to show my friends. They will never believe that I met you."
Tom Lansing looked at Ty, "I think I am going to cry. Why didn't he ask me for my autograph?"
His son, Lance, looked at him and said, "Because, you weren't the MVP of the league."
The game started and when the vendors started to come by, Ty and I started to buy some food to eat. I explained, "We forgot to eat lunch, so we thought we'd grab a bite here at the stadium. Hotdogs always taste better at the ballgame."
Lane spoke up, "You're my kind of man, Mister Washington. I like the way you think."
"Lane, would you please call me Tip?"
Lane looked at me, "You trying to get me grounded or what? How about we compromise and we call you Mr. Tip and Mr. Ty?"
Ty and I hugged the guys who were sitting beside us, Ty laughed, "Well that's certainly better than Doctor Washington and Mr. Jefferson."
The game was getting exciting. Lance stood and was cheering so wildly that he spilled somw of the coke that he was holding on Randy's back.
Randy turned around and said, "Just for that, you are going to be swimming naked tonight and we will be laughing our you now whats off at you."
That didn't stop Lance, "Dad, Uncle Randy is threatening me. He wants to know if we can have a nude swim party, so you all can eat your hearts out when everyone sees Lane and me."
Tom Lansing was having a hard time keeping a straight face, "I suggest that everyone settle down. The game is just about over. We'll head back to the ranch and everyone can get comfortable."
Ty wasn't about to let Lance get the last word, "So you are telling us that we are going to a nude ranch for dudes or is it a nude dude ranch?"
Lane leaned over, "That was a good one, Mr. Ty."
The game ended but the Rockies lost. We rode the limousine back to the hotel and were instructed to meet Randy and Neil in the lobby in thirty minutes. Ty and I went to our room. As soon as we were through the door, I pulled Ty close and started to kiss him.
He pushed me away and I felt a little hurt, "So, do you forgive me for this morning?"
"Damn it Ty, just kiss me. We don't have time to do anything else. I never dreamt that this weekend was going to be this busy. We have six bodies at home, we could be taking care of, but no, we have six people here in Denver who need your attention. At least I shouldn't get called for any emergencies here."
This is Zack.
Bobby came into the living room, "Why is it so quiet? Is Nano Mark ill?"
With the different voice, Mark started to wake up. He started to moan, "Oh I need the blood of a nine year old to keep me going. I smell one nearby; me thinks I should kiss him and take all of his blood."
Mark grabbed Bobby and held him tight and started to kiss and pretended like he was biting Bobby's neck.
Bobby was caught in the charade, "Oh no, the Wild Nano is loose again. I guess we will just have to take his clothes off of him and stick him in the washing machine."
Bobby and Mark were lying on the floor laughing. Mark looked at me, "Zachary Jackson, I recommend that you take this little Billy goat upstairs and get everyone dressed for dinner. The guests will be arriving shortly. I need to put the food in the oven."
The six of us had reassembled in the living area when the doorbell rang. It was Kevin and Mrs. Quinn. Mrs. Quinn looked at me, "So, you are the mysterious brother that I haven't met. You will have to visit the property tomorrow, so you can kick your brothers in the behind so they will buy my house."
The doorbell rang and Bobby brought in Mr. Harrison, "Hey Uncle Zack and everyone, this is my teacher, Mr. Harrison."
Mark shook his head, "Tim, let me introduce the people who are here." Tim was very proper.
The next to arrive were the Jenkins. It turned out that Mrs. Jenkins and Mrs. Quinn were sisters. Mark whispered to me, "This is turning really weird."
The next to arrive were Shawn and Colleen Ferguson and Leanne Wright. They looked around and they knew everyone except Tim Harrison. It seems that Leanne was the niece of Mrs. Quinn and the Jenkins and the rest had all met each other at Ty's office. Mark was looking around, "We are still missing one of our guests. Ryan isn't here yet."
He had no more than said that when the doorbell rang, Mark went to answer and Ryan was standing there with a very stern looking man and woman. The man looked around, "We came to check to see what kind of den of iniquity you were operating here."
Mark invited the couple and Ryan in. "Let me introduce you to our guests Mr. and Mrs. Cummings."
The Cummings stopped in their tracks when they saw the mixed crowd. Mr. Cummings looked at Mr. Jenkins, "Good evening, your honor. I guess we were way out of line in what we thought would be going on here tonight."
Mark was tighter than a corkscrew, "Mr. and Mrs. Cummings, I have no idea what you thought might be going on in this house, but the most important people here are the four young people sitting with their friends over there. You are more than welcome to stay for dinner. There will be plenty of food."
The Cummings knew that they had made fools of themselves and deferred, saying they had other plans. Mark wasn't finished, "We'll bring Ryan home after we go to church and have lunch tomorrow. Thank you for making sure he got here safely."
Mark went into the kitchen and came out, "Children, would you please escort our guests into the dining room?"
Everyone went to the dining room. Barbie made sure that Colleen was sitting next to her. Bobby had to sit beside Mr. Harrison. Billy wanted to sit beside Kevin. Becky chose to sit between Mrs. Jenkins and Mrs. Quinn.
Mark had started to serve the dinner, I placed a frozen fruit salad in front of each person and Mark gave them each a bowl of minestrone soup. Mark asked Bobby to say a blessing which he did and everyone started to eat their food. When Mark stood to remove the bowls, Tim and Shawn and I stood to help.
Mark handed each of us something to take to the table, and he brought some white wine to go with the oven fried chicken. He poured the wine for the adults and had a sparking grape juice for the young people. He helped Barbie and Billy before he finally sat down.
The talk at dinner was lively and no one was bored. When everyone was finished eating, it was like they had been instructed to take their dishes to the kitchen. Kevin and Ryan were doing the dishes and told the rest of us to disappear.
We sat in the family room and Mark excused himself, "I think I need to get the young ones to bed. They have had a long day."
Colleen volunteered, "Leanne and I will get the girls ready for bed and Shawn and Tim can get the young men ready for bed. Grandma Quinn can read them a bedtime story. Mark and Zack, your job is to make sure that Kevin and Ryan don't get into any trouble."
Kevin came into the room, "I heard that. I think I'll call the animal shelter now and tell them there some dogs here that have fleas. Mark, what do you want us to do with the leftovers?"
Mark and I went to the kitchen to help Kevin and Ryan with the leftovers. Ryan was going to the bathroom and Kevin whispered, "Please help Ryan, he was talking about committing suicide. His parents have driven him into the ground. He was so mortified by them coming here tonight that he is thinking about running away from home."
Ryan came back to the kitchen. Mark was fast on his feet, "Kev, go see what the people want with their dessert. Tell them we are having strawberry cheese cake."
Kevin got the message and he started to leave, "What do I tell the children. I'm guessing they would rather have something else?"
Mark looked at Kevin and blinked, "Just tell them they can have ice cream with two sugar wafers."
When Kevin had departed, Mark put his arms around Ryan, "Ryan, please don't even think of the word that starts with "s" and ends with "e". If things get too bad, please call Zack, me or your Grandmother Cummings. We are not experts in life, but you are a beautiful person. Please don't take that beauty away from us."
The discussion was interrupted by a Billy coming and putting his arms around Ryan. "I'm ready for my dessert, Ryan."
Ryan started to get tears in his eyes. They got even worse when Bobby came in with Kevin, "I thought you said that Ryan had everything ready." Bobby hugged Ryan.
The two girls came in with Colleen and Leanne followed by the Jenkins, Mrs. Quinn, Tim Harrison and Shawn.
Mark fixed everyone desserts and coffee, tea or milk. When everyone finished their desserts, Mark sent the four children to brush their teeth and charged Kevin and Ryan with getting them settled into bed.
Little did he realize what an impact that was going to have on Ryan. When Ryan was tucking Billy into bed, Billy whispered, "Uncle Ryan, you won't go away will you? I want you to be with us when we move to our new house. Please don't hurt yourself."
Bobby hugged Ryan, "Goodnight Mr. Ryan, be nice to Mr. Kevin. He is really a neat person."
Kevin and Ryan came down the stairs as everyone else was leaving, they hugged everyone and went into the kitchen and started to do the dishes. When Mark and I went into the kitchen after everyone left. Ryan lit into us, "You put the boys into this mess. How could you tell them about me?"
Mark stepped back, "Ryan, we have not had a chance to talk to Billy or Bobby, so what are you saying?"
Ryan told us what Billy had said and then what Bobby said. I looked at Mark and he and I both started to laugh.
Ryan was getting frustrated, "Why are you laughing at me?"
Mark went to Ryan and held him tight, "Ryan, we are not laughing at you, but for you. Don't you realize that the two little guys unknowingly told you that your life is worth too much to even consider taking it away? Ryan, I haven't known you very long, but I think that you are a very wonderful young man. You have a lot to give the world, so just grin and bear until you are eighteen. Zack and I are serious, if you need to talk, please call us. But please, don't leave us."

Editor's Notes:
I have to say that this chapter has really gotten to me. It was a great chapter as usual.
I have not personally known any teenagers who took their own life. Well, I suppose that is not strictly true. I knew someone whom I believe, in retrospect, probably took his own life. We were both young at the time, and his parents treated him like he wasn't loved. I am not saying that they didn't love him, but I don't think he felt he was loved. His sister got all the praise and he was left to fend for himself. No one ever told him that he did something well, even if he did. He was simply expected to do things perfectly and if he didn't then he was chastised. Anyway he drowned in a boating accident, and I still think he jumped overboard. I wasn't there when it happened. He was about fifteen or sixteen when he died, and I was only about nine or ten. My aunt, his mother, didn't shed a tear at the funeral. My uncle cried a little, but I don't honestly think it bothered him all that much. This is, of course, just reflection on something that happened a long time ago, and I shouldn't blame them, but yet, I have to admit I still think they could have done something that might have helped Norman. He was always nice to me, and somehow I still miss him.
Please hurry with the next chapter.
