Together Again Chapter Five By Sophie (wind_phoenix@hotmail.com, wind_angel@myplace.com)
"... But I only know, that one day, we'll be together again..." sang John as he walked in the living room. "Please, John, can you shut up?" said Scott, annoyed, sitting on the couch. "It's the fifth time in this day that you sang this song!" "I can't help it! I really like this song!" said John "By the way, I sang it sixth times, not fifth times..." "Whatever..." sighed Scott. John sat on the couch, a big smile on his face. "Why are you so happy?" asked Scott. "Brian and Nick are kissing each other in the bedroom..." "My god! And you left? What's happened to you, bro?" said Scott, in a mock tone. John just punched him lightly on the arm. "I'm not that bad! Beside, I know that they won't have sex until Nick see again..." he said. Scott gave him a weird look. "I'm not going to let you watch this!" he said. "Come on, bro! It could be fun!" said John. "No!" said Scott. "But... you said that I'll have free gay sex, a few days ago!" said John, pouting. "I lied... I was just saying that to make you smile." Said Scott, smiling. "Humph!" said John as he turned away, sulking. "What a kid!" thought Scott as he shook his head.
A few minutes after, Nick and Brian entered in the room. Nick plopped on the couch where was John, causing him to jump in surprise. "Whoa!" said John as he moved from the couch. "I didn't hear him!" Nick smiled, patting his legs. Brian sat on Nick's legs, leaned and kissed him passionately. "I understand... I go." Said Scott, as he got up. "You don't have to, you can watch." Said John, smiling. "Ha. Ha. Ha." Said Scott, sarcastically. Then the front door rang, causing Brian to break the kiss. "I thought I told them to leave us alone for a while..." said Brian, sighing. "Maybe they forgot..." Said Nick "It was two days ago, Nick! They can't have forgot that!" said Brian as he got up. "Who could it be?" said Scott. He then saw John coming from the wall, causing him to jump a little. "Hey! You scared me!" said Scott, glaring at him. "Sorry... I went outside to see who it was and I think we both saw them before." Said John. "Really?" They walked to the front door that Brian had just opened, to hear him said, shocked: "Mom?! Dad?! Bro?!" "Hi Brian!" said his mother, pulling him in a hug "You didn't expect us, huh?" Brian, confused, hugged them all before saying: "No, I don't... What are you doing here?" "Your brother is visiting a friend... so we thought it will be a good idea to see you!" said Harold II Brian finally smiled. "I'm glad you're here... come on, enter." He said as he walked in the living room. "Brian, who is it?" asked Nick. "Oh, Nick, you didn't recognize us?" said Brian's mother, smiling. "Jackie?!" he said confused "Us?!" "We're here, Nick." Said Harold III, smiling. Brian sat with Nick on the couch while his family sat in other armchairs. "Mom, dad, bro..." said Brian "Since you're here, I have to tell you something..."
"My god!" said Jackie, shocked "It's terrible!" "Yes, we know..." sighed Nick. "And... It's only for a few time, right?" said Harold III. "Yes... after I'll see." Said Nick. "Until that, I take care of him... since Nick's family is far away from there..." said Brian. "I'm proud of you, son." Said Harold II "It's a good think that you take care of him." "I don't know what I'd do if he wasn't by my side." Said Nick, smiling. Brian smiled while blushing a little. "Do you need any help?" asked Jackie. "No thanks, mom." Said Brian "But everything is fine... Nick learned some stuff when I'm not here." "It's a good thing." Said Harold II as the others nodded. "Everything will be okay, so let's not talk a lot about it, okay?" said Nick. "Okay." Said the others. A few seconds after, Harold III asked: "Do you have some news from Kevin?" "Yes, I saw him a few days ago..." said Brian. John soon lost interested in the conversation and got up. "Where are you going?" asked Scott. "Outside, for a few minutes..." said John "It's boring me..." "Of course!" said Scott "You only like sex!" John playfully slapped him before he went through the wall and walked in the garden.
"I'm not that bad..." he said to himself "Who don't like sex?" He sighed and walked a little around the house. It was a nice one. There were flowers, trees and palms. There was a nice pool too... if he was able to do everything he wanted he would have jumped in it. "Oh well... once we go back at home, I'll go in our private one." As he looked around him, he sighed at the wonderful view. It wasn't really liked that in his time... well there's still beautiful gardens and a lot of forest and others things in his time, but a lot of them were protected by some sophisticated systems which prevents them to have a problem or to be polluted. A tear streamed down his face as he remembered that. Even if John acted like a pervert sometimes, he had a big golden heart and was very sensible... In his time, he devoted all his work to systems that would eliminated all the pollution in the world... it was difficult, yes, but a lot of people worked on it... even the federal government strongly supported this project. It had saved a lot of animals' breeds and much other parts of the nature. But it wasn't enough. Luckily, their project was nearly finished... a week of work again, and these system would be able to test... he really hoped that it'd work. Despite the fact that he was only 21, he was one of most important people in the project and had a good reputation. He was very intelligent, even if sometimes he acted like a kid and wasn't very smart... and he was the creator of this project. He shook his head and closed his eyes. He didn't already want to think about it. For now, he had another mission... to find out why his ancestor's group, the Backstreet Boys, had broken up. He only knew that it wasn't a normal break-up... Something happen. "But what?" he said, looking at the blue sky. The sun was shining, today. He loved when the weather is fine like this. "I'll find out later..." he said as he walked in the house, not caring where he was going. He then saw that he was in the living room. Brian's family and Scott were there... but not the lovebirds. "Where are they?" he asked to Scott. "In the bedroom... Nick said that he was tired so Brian helped him to..." said Scott but he didn't have time enough to finish as John ran up the stairs. Scott just rolled his eyes. "A little pervert..." he thought, smiling "But it's the little bro that I love..."
In the bedroom...
Nick and Brian were in each other arms, gently kissing. "I so wish to see you, Bri." Whispered Nick as he broke the kiss. "Me too, Nicky." Said Brian "But after this operation, you'll see me. So, no need to worry, okay?" Nick nodded and hugged Brian closed to his heart. Brian put his head on Nick's right shoulder and closed his eyes, enjoying the feeling. "Awww... that's so sweet..." said John, standing at the door, as he watched the couple. As they restarted to kiss, he heard some noise beside him. He looked at his left and saw Brian's mother coming. "Oh shit..." he whispered. He looked at the boys and saw that they had stopped kissing. But they were still in each other arms, gently cuddling each other. Jackie walked toward the door and immediately stopped as she saw her son and Nick holding each other. "When do you think we're gonna tell our parents?" asked Nick. He couldn't see Jackie and Brian wasn't looking at the door. "I don't know... I want to tell them right here but... I don't want them to hate me." "You think they would?" "I don't think so, but as we're a very religious family... I don't know." Said Brian "I love them all so much, Nick. They were always there for me, since the beginning, so I don't think what I'd do if they didn't like the fact that I love you." "I understand that, I feel the same way." Said Nick "Your family is like my second one." Jackie could hear his son quietly sniffling in the dark as Nick continued to hug him tightly. Her heart melted at what they both said. She had never seen Brian looking at other guys but Brian really seemed to love Nick. After all, since the beginning, she wanted her son to be happy. She smiled slowly and walked away, John following her. "If it must be that way..." she whispered as she walked away "Nick is good for you..." John couldn't help but to sigh in relief. He quickly walked in the living room and saw his brother just staring into space. "WAAAAAAAAAA!!!" he screamed at the top of his lungs. Scott screamed in surprise and fell on the floor. "John! You dick!" he said angrily as John laughed. "Sorry, but I couldn't help myself." Said John, giggling "I wanted to say that Brian's mother know about them." "Really?!" he said, surprised "What she said?!" "Well, she surprised them, but they didn't know because they didn't hear and see her. But for what I saw and heard, she seemed to accept that." "Good." Said Scott "So there's no problem for the guys, Brian's mother..." "And we don't know for the rest of his family and Nick's one." Finished John. "Yeah..." said Scott, looking at the people in the living room. A few moments later, Brian went in the room. "Brian, I wanted to know if you'll go at home during your break, when Nick will be better." Said Jackie. Before Brian could answer, Harold III spoke. "I thought you were going to ask him that when you went upstairs." He said. "Upstairs... OH MY GOD!!!!!! SHE WENT... SHE SAW ME AND..." John and Scott could hear Brian thought. They could sense that he was panicking. Yet, nobody saw that. "He was occupied to help Nick with the bed so I thought it would be better to wait until he finished." She said. She looked at Brian and winked several times at him as the others looked at him. Brian could understand what she meant, but he didn't know if it was a good sign. "Um... yeah, now he's sleeping." He said, hoping that nobody sensed his nervousness. "And so?" said Harold II "Will you join us after Nick's operation?" "Uh... I don't know, but why not?" he said, shrugging "I'd love to go back to our house." "Remember that you're always welcomed." Said Jackie, smiling. Brian smiled too, feeling a bit better. Yet, he still wasn't sure about her. "Mom? Can I talk to you privately?" he asked. She nodded and they both went in the kitchen, closing the door behind them. John was following them while Scott stayed in the living room. "Brian..." said Jackie "I saw you and Nick in the room and I honestly think that I just want you to be happy. Are you happy with him?" "Yes, I am, mom." Said Brian, looking at the floor "I know it sounds weird that I'm in love with him, but I can't help what I feel... I couldn't stop these feelings..." "I see... honestly I'd have prefer to see you with a woman..." she said as Brian looked at her, worried "But if you have to be with a man, then Nick is good for you." "I didn't have to be with a man, mom... it just happened..." he said, sighing "And I love him so much... even if I didn't understand how I could fall so hard for him..." "Maybe it's fate, Brian." Said Jackie "Maybe God decided that you and Nick were soulmate." "I was thinking that too..." said Brian "Anyway, if Nick makes you happy then I'm all for it." Said Jackie "You were always my baby duck and nothing will ever change that." "Oh... thanks mom." Said Brian as he went to hug her, crying. "She reminds me my mom..." thought John as he looked at them, a small smile on his face. He left the kitchen and walked back in the living room where was his brother. "No problem with Brian's mother." He said. "Okay... we just have to know about..." "Yeah, yeah, we already said that earlier." Said John, cutting him "We don't have to say one hundred times the same thing." "Really, I wonder if this travel changes you, man." Said Scott, smiling "Where's my little immature and pervert brother?" "Hey!" protested John as he slapped him on the back. Then, they saw Brian and Jackie coming back. "Well, we're going back to our hotel now." Said Harold II "It's late." "You can stay here, if you want." Offered Brian. "No, son, it's okay." Said Jackie "We leave Orlando tomorrow." "Okay." They all went outside in their car as Brian and the other two followed them. "Remember to call if you want to come." Said Harold II "And bring Nick also, if you want." "Alright." Said Brian, smiling "Bye mom, bye dad, bye bro." "Bye Brian!" they all said as they drove off Brian's house. Once they were out of sight, Brian walked back in the house, closed the front door and sighed heavily. Finally, it wasn't that bad. Yet, only his mother knew. He didn't want his brother and father to know yet. "Why he didn't want them to know yet?" asked John. "Because he only wanted his mother to know." Said Scott. "Why?" "Maybe because he wasn't sure of their reaction." "Why?" "Maybe... maybe because he thought he wouldn't be the same reaction with his brother and father." "Why?" "Mothers are always the most comprehensive... well often, I don't know all the types of mother." "Why?" Scott looked at his brother, a blank look on his face. "Finally, I said something stupid." He said, "My immature brother is still here." "Hey, I was just..." John stopped as he saw that Brian wasn't there. He went in the living room and didn't see him. He looked at his brother as he walked toward the stairs. "Congratulation, bro. Now, he went in the bedroom without me." He said as he still looked at his brother and walked up the stairs "If I missed a single thing of..." Then he missed a step, lost his balance and fell until he was lying on the floor on his back. "You said?" said Scott, yawing, looking at him. "I HATE YOU!!" screamed John, looking up at him furiously. "That was what I thought." Said Scott as he walked in the living room, giggling. He knew his brother wasn't hurt because nothing bad could happen to them as they were almost like ghosts. John just groaned, stood up quickly, ran toward Nick and Brian's room. As he entered in the room, he saw Brian in bed with Nick, spooning him. "What did I say?" said John with a grimace as he sat on a chair beside the bed. "They already left?" he heard Nick, whispering. "Yeah, and my mother knows." Said Brian "She saw us while we were kissing." Nick gasped and turned around, hugging him. "What she said?" asked Nick, very worried. "She'd prefer to see me with a woman but she said that if I love you and that you made me happy, she's happy too." "So... I guess she wasn't too happy..." sighed Nick "Since I don't make you happy..." "Nick, why are you saying that?" said Brian, shocked. "Brian, I love you and you love me. But you made me happy... and I don't return the favor." Said Nick sadly. "Oh, sweetie..." said Brian as he hugged him and kissed him on the forehead. "You make me so happy, just by being here, by being so sweet..." "Brian... I can't make you totally happy if I can't..." he said as his right hand stroke Brian's left thigh "...satisfy you enough." John couldn't help but to try to look at Nick's hand, a goofy grin on his face. "Nick..." said Brian as he took his hand away, making John sighing "Love isn't always link up to sex... Sex is only a part to, physically, please each other, not to make the other happy..." "Really?" said Nick "Of course... you thought it was an important part to make the other happy?" "Well... I remember that Mandy, while we were together, always said that I wouldn't make her happy if we didn't have sex too... but I never really wanted, I wasn't ready." "She said that?" "Yeah... and 'til we broke up, we never had sex... I thought after that maybe I should have..." "I'm glad you didn't Nick." Said Brian "You can have sex only if you feel that you're ready, not because you want to please the other... I told you that some times ago, remember?" "Yeah... I'm sorry." Said Nick. Brian just hugged him and kissed him on the lips. "It's okay babe..." he whispered "Just sleep, you need rest." "I love you." "I love you too." John continued to watch them until he was sure they were asleep and left the room. "He's not wrong..." said John to himself "It was the same for me, but after my first time, I couldn't stop..." He stopped and smiled. "That's mean that Nick is a virgin." He said, giggling. He went down the stairs, as he sang "Nick is a virgin, he's a virgin...". Scott, who was half-asleep, heard him and sighed. "Please, will you shut up?" he said, "What if he's a virgin? It's not wrong..." "That's mean that Nick will have sex for the first time when him and Brian..." "Listen, I already told you that you won't see that! So calm down and go to sleep!" "But..." "No but, Jo." Said Scott "This isn't right to watch two persons making love." "Why?" "Because this is wrong." "Why?" "Becau... oh no, you won't start that again!" he said, exasperated, as John just grinned. "Start what?" he asked innocently. "Please... just sleep." Said Scott, tired "And remember that I won't let you saw them doing their stuff." "I hope they'll do that while he'll be asleep." mumbled John as he lay on the couch. "I hear that!" said Scott "Hey, you want a song to sleep?" asked John, grinning. "Which one?" "I don't when, I don't know how..." sang John when Scott screamed. "ALRIGHT IT'S ENOUGH! Just sleep!" John just giggled and they closed their eyes and they both fell asleep a few moments later.
Time flew and finally a week had passed. In one week, Nick would go to Los Angeles. He was impatient to be there but was scared too. "What if something happen during the operation?" he said, worried. "Nick, it will be operation with LASER." Said Brian "There's nothing to be afraid of. And the operation won't be very long." "But still..." said Nick, sitting next to him on the couch on the living room. "Please, you'll be here, right?" "Of course, I won't leave your side, remember?" Nick nodded and lay against his chest, feeling safe and happy. "Only one week..." said Scott "I hope it won't be too long." "I don't really care..." said John, grinning, as he looked at the lovers. "Of course..." sighed Scott, rolling his eyes. Then, someone knocked at the door. "Oh, I forgot they were supposed to be here today." Said Nick as he sat back beside him. "I'm gonna welcome them." said Brian as he stood up and walked toward the door. "Who was supposed to be here?" asked John. "Nick's parents, silly." Said Scott "They supposed to be at Orlando for a few days." Brian went back in the room with Nick's parents five minutes later. He had explained Nick's situation to them. "Sweetie!" said Nick's mother as he sat beside him and hugged him "Are you okay? Brian told us what happened to you." "I'm okay, mom." Said Nick as he hugged her back. "Brian helped me a lot." "Yes, he told us so." Said his father as he sat beside him "You should have told us sooner." "I'm sorry but I didn't want to worry you too much." Said Nick, sighing. "It's okay, but now that we're here, Brian won't have too much work anymore." "It really doesn't annoy me, you know." Said Brian. "Everything is okay with him." Said Nick. "We know, son." Said his father. "Hey, I have an idea." Said his mother "Is it right that you have to go to Los Angeles for the operation?" "Yes, why?" "Because, since your father and I leave in two days, I think that it will be better if you leave with us so you can be with your family... And then, you'd stay at home 'til you must go back to work." "Two months without Brian?!" thought Nick "No... I can't handle that..." Brian looked at him and his parents, worried. He didn't want Nick to leave, but if Nick refused and said that he wanted to stay with Brian, they would find that strange. Nick knew that. "Brian will come too?" "In fact I'd prefer if you come alone, just in family." Said his father. "Me too." Said his mother "I hope you don't mind, Brian." "Uh, no, of course, I understand..." said Brian, but Nick could sense that his answer was hesitating. "Ten dollars that Nick will say that he wants to stay with Brian." Said John, smiling. "I'm not so sure..." said Scott, frowning. "Why?" "I doubt that his parents will appreciate if he refuses." "Not if they know that they're in love." Said John, shrugging, as he looked at them. Scott looked at him and then at Nick. "Not sure..." he mumbled, a bit pessimist.
