Wednesday night, I told Trooper that I had to return to work. I had used up all my vacation leave and all my sick leave. I also told him that through the generosity of the company that I worked at that people had donated so that I would not be without a paycheck. But now it was time for me to either go back to work or lose the health insurance. I told him that after dinner. Trooper said, "you're going to leave me, now aren't you?" I replied, "Darling, why are you afraid that I am going to leave you? You not getting off that easy. I promise, I'll be over here every day that I can, and when I cannot be over here, we will have a long phone conversation. You're not getting away from me. Do you understand that Trooper?" He nodded his head, he told me that he never loved anyone as much as he loved me. He told me that he will be dismissed probably early next week and he too had been told that he has to go back to work or lose the insurance.
I sat on the side of his bed, I held his beautiful face, and I kissed his open mouth, without regard to any nurses that might pop in. The kisses long and soul sharing. I knew I could come over for about two weeks that I didn't know how I was going to fit working six hours a day physical therapy for two hours a day, driving for two hours a day just to see Trooper. He held my face, tears flowing down his face, trying his best not to cry, as more tears rolled out the sides of each eye. Trooper spoke, "Darling, now that I've found you, promised me that you will not let go. Because of all of the changes, to my body and soul, to me lover; that would kill me, that would finish me off and I know that I would not be able to recover. I took my right hand and placed it over my heart crossing it, my left arm was supporting my weight painfully, and I promised him I would not let him go out of my reach. I slipped a business card of mine with my home phone number written on the back into his hand telling him that he had more than one way to contact me. I also told him that if he needed me, I would make arrangements to be there in his hour of need. He pulled me down his chest, he kissed my head, he rubbed my neck, and he said, "I waited for you, just like at the with Park, hoping to both save you from my replacement, and to save myself from being in a tormented marriage. Then it was my turn to sob. I told him I had to go to work for two hours the next day. Physical therapy would be two or three hours. With an hour drive for the commute to Parsons, I should be here at suppertime.
We held each other for probably 40 minutes, I heard the hospital door open, hoping that we were not in trouble. I looked up and saw Tammy, with some of the other nurses that took care of us. They had given us a small cake with four words scribed on. The cake said simply, "From This Day Forward..." Tammy said, "even though you can't have alcohol, you can have sparkling grape juice, and she produced a bottle of sparkling grape juice. Paper plates were passed around. Trooper in I enjoyed our company. I stayed much later than what I should have, I stayed until he was sound asleep. I leaned over and kissed his lips, telling him that I will be back and that I loved him eternally.
I drove back to the house was a strange feeling in my stomach. I knew that I have left Trooper well, contented, and asleep. However, I could not shake the feeling of something looming. I arrived home close to midnight. And on top of the exhausting day at work, I was more than ready for a good night sleep.
The next day with the absolute bitch at work. We were down to people due to sickness, and down another person for pregnancy leave. Just to top that all off it was the time of the month that we had to service the snap/food stamp program recipients. All of the people that were on general assistance that were able-bodied were required to meet with us to set up employment objectives and training to meet those objectives. This was something that was rolled out by the White House back in the 70s, and it was not unusual for us to see as many as 90 people in a day per employee. I was asked if I could work six hours that day and I did that as requested by my boss. I lost count of the number of people that I saw, later records would show I topped out at 105. I had identified at least 60 people they were ready for reemployment education and another 20 people that were ready for employment. I assigned those 20 people to the senior representative for the employment program. I hurried to PT and finished it in record time.
I left late because I had to. I went down to the Burger King and ordered myself when hamburger and a Diet Coke and head out to Parsons. 40 minutes later I pulled into the hospital parking lot and within another five minutes, I was on Trooper's floor. As I exited the elevator, I heard nurse Tammy calling my name. I waved her off and entered Troopers room. He was not there. There was an elderly lady obviously in distress laying the bed. No one next to her. I stumbled slightly. I exited the room as quietly as I could. In the hallway was Tammy." He was dismissed today, she said, he waited for you thinking that he would drive him home and we needed the room so he called a cab." I was in shock. I asked, "Where did he go?" Tammy replied, "I'm pretty sure that he went to his house." I couldn't take it any longer, tears were rolling down my face, why didn't they call me at the office? Tammy suggested that I go by his house and I did just that.
As I drove to the other side of the city looking for the street that he lived on, I saw a car that I did not recognize in his driveway. I pulled up behind the car, shifted the van into first and turned off the ignition. I opened at the door and practically ran to the steps. I opened it the door thinking that Trooper was going to be inside. There is a lady there was obviously dyed red hair carrying a clipboard. I asked her, Where's Bradford?" She responded, "I think he's in another city by now. This house was ordered to be sold by the court for a divorce decree and I'm just doing the appraisal. It's much nicer than what I thought. As I walked the toward the van, she said that he took everything except stuff that cannot be taken with great difficulty like the chest freezer." Again, another disappointment. I sat down on the floor crying. I'm sorry to see you this way, however, the house has to be sold." Was Bradford here?" I asked. She responded, "Yes he was here, he left about three hours ago which was just long enough for me to have the master key to the house in my possession. Are you interested in buying? I lost it. I said, "What I'm interested in is finding my lover Miss! Do you think in your little pea-sized, one tracked, feeble mind I would want to buy the house that put my lover and soul mate and myself in the hospital because of a double homicide attempt?" I think that last comment that I said sent her into shell-shock. I exited the house moved toward the Van and decided it maybe he could be at Duncan's or at some other place.
I drove to the A&W, then to Duncan's and noticed right away that it was not scheduled to be open that day as they were open Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It was getting late. I had to go to work the next day, while I was an emotional wreck. I drove the 24 miles to my house from Duncan's. Crying often on the trip thinking to myself that my lover and soul mate had just passed out of my life.
By the time that I reach my house, I was exhausted. I fixed myself a PB and jelly sandwich turned on the TV, and then decide just to chuck it for the day and go to bed.
Tuesday, I went to work even in my emotional state, however, I just needed the money and the insurance. This is before the days of cell phones. I didn't know where Trooper was and I did not know how to contact him. I thought about writing a note to his captain, but I did not want to endanger his employment. It was one of those days at work that just kind of drug on and on.
Wednesday, I repeat the same process as Tuesday. Except for in the evening I drove to Duncan's and ask to speak with Mr. Duncan. He came out of the kitchen and gave me a big enthusiastic hug. I asked him if he had seen Bradford. He just shook his head no. "Bradford did call me," he said "he told me that he was putting in and transfer to another area, he said he had to sell the house and with the new positions and was going to live with his relatives or something really cheap, however, I cannot tell you where they live that because I don't know." I looked down at the table thinking well I messed this up royally. I told Mr. Duncan that if he ran into him to give him this business card with my work address, my home address, and my home phone number. Mr. Duncan said that he would be more than delighted do that. I exited the restaurant and drove back to my house.
I had no way to contact him. I knew that his wife was still in jail somewhere, and the only other person that had seen us together I had just talked to. Trying to sleep that night was like trying to make it rain the desert. I tossed and turned.
Weeks went by, to be exact, 2 months and 2 weeks, and three days. No contact from Trooper at all. Life returned to its mundane self. I was sitting at my office and it was about quitting time on a Friday afternoon. My receptionist came to me and said, "I don't know what you've done this time, and the supervisors are gone for the day. However, there is a uniformed law-enforcement officer asking to see you. I had not been doing anything unusual since Trooper was dismissed from the hospital. I shut down my computer as it was three till 5 o'clock. I walked around the partition and down the hall to the reception area. As I turned the corner I stopped in my tracks. There before me was my Trooper. He was dressed in his blue uniform with his trooper hat underneath his right arm. I took one look at him, and immediately noticed his electric blue eyes and dazzling titanium white smile. I said, "Do you know how hard it is to find you?" He replied, "I need a hug! Right here, right now, right in front of everyone!" I replied, "Okay then." And we embraced for about a half of a minute. It was that simple, as a hug between two friends. It was past 5 o'clock and the receptionist was locking the front door. I motioned with my head for Trooper to follow me down the hallway to the back of the building. I grabbed my keys as I passed out of my office walking side by side with my lover.
Jerry, the receptionist leaned her head over to her shoulder and said, "Let me guess, your past and current bedroom buddy?" I looked her straight in the eye and said, "Hell yes!" Never the one to mince words Jerry said, "Wonderful, you need someone."
We walked around to the front of the parking lot to his cruiser. We sat on the hood facing the building and just talked. I'm sorry I didn't get to say goodbye, they did push me out of the hospital rapidly. I had weeks and weeks of physical therapy, just like you did except my physical therapy was in Chanute then in Eureka. I was offered a new territory and I took it immediately, with the promise that I would get another territory closer to you as soon as possible. That is why you did not hear from me for so long. I was transferred and stationed in Greenwood County with my physical therapy in Eureka Kansas, it was just too far away to drive back and forth to be with you especially with physical therapy three times a week. And a phone call just would not do the trick. However, that has all changed. You see, my Darling, my new territory is the southern half of Crawford including Pittsburg to the Oklahoma state line. I am moving as soon as I can. Do you happen to have room in your house for me? This time, it was a good shock to the system. I replied, "I can make plenty of room in my bedroom, I've got a storage area on the back porch that's heated, anything that you need to put there including your weight set, and I bet that we can build a dog run if need be between the house and the garage. We've done that before. How soon can I expect you to move in?" He stated, "Short notice on that, Darling. I need to be on duty there Monday after next to be exact so we have one week." About that time, I had heard a dog bark and I looked at the back of his car and there was a German Shepherd wagging his tail and his body, looking like I was his best buddy. Trooper said, "He's really good judge of character, and he certainly likes you." So, I queried, "You moving into my house bringing your dog and weightlifting set and stereo and clothing and anything else?" "Not really, just my woodworking stuff" he replied, "Oh there is one more thing; you will be served with a subpoena about next two month or three months to testify in the case of my wife against you and me. It seems that the county attorney is going for attempted murder times two, inflicting grievous bodily harm times two, theft of personal property - your van, destruction of private property the neighbor's property and your van, discharging a firearm within city limits times 5, domestic disturbance, and grand theft auto when she took your van without permission. It will probably be about a week long trial and she'll probably go away for 20 to 25 years. The court does not take kindly about trying to kill people even if it is during a fit of passion or trying to kill a law enforcement officer." I looked at him and looked down at the pavement and simply said "Okay then"
The court date was set for the matter of the attempted murder of Trooper and myself five months later. We were told to call the court phone system late the Sunday night, prior to going into court. The phone system started with the recording that they accepted collect calls, In the matter set for September 12th, the trial has been canceled because of a plea deal. We learned she accepted to two counts of attempted murder, and a five count of discharging a firearm within city limits. That warranted a sentence of life imprisonment. With good behavior, she could be out in 30 years.
Just one more thing to do and that was to make a short trip to the hospital that we stayed in together. After driving his cruiser to my house, and trooper changing into street attire, we took the StreetVan toward Parson. Driving after work on Tuesday, we arrived about 6:00 P.M. and walked up to the third floor. As we rounded the corner, Porsche and Tammy saw us. Tammy just stated, "As I live and breathe, HEY! I won that bet, Claudia! We told them that we were moving in together, in Pittsburg. We exchanged hugs with those that took such good care of us. And we started our life together.
On the way home, it was nice to have Trooper drive, I said back in the passengers Capt.'s chair and watched my ever so handsome lover negotiate the road to my house. We made a very short stop at Duncan's and ordered dinner. Ever so typical, Trooper had his T-bone steak, and I had my grilled chicken breast with shrimp and all the trimmings. We were getting ready to pay the bill for the meal and Mr. Duncan came out and gave us both a humongous hug. He wanted to know all about us and we privately told him that Trooper was relocating to my house. He took me by the shoulders, looked me square in the eye, and told me that I had better take care of Trooper, because if I did not, I would not have another chance again at true love. I agreed with him. We paid the bill, exited the restaurant, and Trooper decided to drive the rest the way to my house. But, how did he know where I lived? I asked him that and he stated, "I drove by many times, you were at work, I did not want to disturb you during the work day as I know we needed more time than a short meeting."
That night was absolutely amazing, we start off with a slow, delicious shower with both of us in the stall at the same time washing all of each other, and I do mean all of each other. After he had made use of a female douche nozzle on me three times, I return the favor to use it on him. At the same time, we were both clean inside and out, and we took a load towels to the bedroom. We lay the house out on the bed just to case there was any leakage. Trooper laid down, kind of spread Eagle, and told me, "Darling, this body is yours, do with it how you like, please don't leaving permanent scars, I am absolutely all yours tonight. I crawled up from the foot of the bed and massage his massive legs. Damn, I love a man with big thick thighs full of rock-hard muscle! I massage his legs from the base of the foot all the way up to the groin. We both had erection that were like leaking faucets, dripping out evidence of our love for each other. I took a hold of the penis, and I ran my tongue into his slit, tasting his essence. I slipped the helmet into my mouth, lovingly sucking on the appendage while I played with this scrotum. I was in no hurry at all. And then I was sure that I was going to give him a present, a keepsake, of giving him a hands free, another intensive mind numbing, bed rocking, all-encompassing climax. I took the towels and rolled two of them up after folding them in half. That made a nice bolster for his lovely beefy derrière to rest on. I moved up toward his body on the bed, raising his legs and placing them on my shoulders. I reached over to the nightstand, which was actually the bedroom window ledge, and took the tube of KY and applied it liberally to myself, and his lovely derrière. Using one finger, I gently stretched his anal orifice, reaching inside to stroke his prostrate. Trooper looked at me and said, `I don't think I can wait much longer; I had been dreaming of this for weeks now." I replied, "My darling, patience is a virtue, and you're not going anywhere!" There was a slow, deliciously planned and executed smile that crept from his lips to the center of his being. I move forward, positioning my manhood right at his orifice. I had thought of this for weeks now. I remember how he loves to get a moan and a thrill out of me inside of him including, thrusting, moving around in circles, moving my penis up and down in his orifice, then side to side and then repeating the procedure again, thrusting, moving around in circles moving my penis up and down to hammer his prostrate. And so, it began. This time there would be no interruptions. There be no shotgun shot inside the bedroom. This time I waited the perfect. I took my time, I squeezed a glob of KY on his penis, and then as I hammered away, I use my left hand, to stroke his manhood, changing my attack again on his derrière. Noticing that there were ever so slight beats of sweat on his brow, I intensified my thrusting. By this time both of us were panting. I asked Trooper, "How you doing lover?" He locked eyes with me, telling me, "I'm not going to last much longer." And that was my cue. I remembered how he so loved rough thrusting. So, I grabbed onto his massive tree trunk legs, and using them as leverage and a counterbalance. I laid pipe the best way I knew how to. I was working up a real sweat, it was hot the bedroom, even with the overhead fan running. I looked him square in the eye, changed things up a bit, and decided on treat him with a hammering of his prostrate by making my penis go up and down and up and down inside of him. He rolled his head to the left. Then he rolled it straight to look at me, "Darling, just do it!" And I jackhammer the fuck out of him. The steel bed frame was rocking and rolling. I continued slamming the best I could into his body. And then it happened. He looked at me square in the eye, replied with one word, "UGHHHH!" and he shot his essence on his chest, my chest, on the bed, and I swear he hit the wall once. His anus spaming around me sent me over the edge. I kind of forgot about everything, as the all-encompassing orgasm wash over my body from the head to my toes. I emptied myself into him, exhausted, panting for breath, I spread his legs wide, and laid on his chest. He took his arms and placed them around my upper body. He looked at me square in the eye and said, "fireworks and explosions again!" I knew what he meant; we had given each other the essence of what makes us men. He gently rolled us over on his right side. I kicked the towels off the bed, reached for the comforter, and then turned the lights off. He and I said a quick prayer of thanks to God. It was so sublime to lay there in post orgasmic peace with someone that you love. I was his, and Trooper was all mine.
For a newly single man, Trooper certainly had a lot of stuff I thought. I put my Van to good use as we drove back and forth to Greenwood County to a tiny town called "Neal" packing up his belongings in transporting into my house. We sat up the weight bench in the heated back porch. He took the closet on the south of the bedroom, and I move my stuff to the closet on the north of the bedroom. We shampooed the carpet, dropped some of his uniforms off at the dry cleaners. We built a dog run. We bought a storage shed about 12 feet by 28 feet with 16-inch center studs, had a foundation poured and spiked with lag bolts to anchor the shed to the house. We spray insulated the inside, installed drywall, and put in heat and air and a half bathroom just for him and his woodworking tools. I am sure that I would be spending lots of time there also.
